Grumpy Daddy Next Door

Rate this book
I never imagined the grumpiest billionaire next door would be my baby daddy.

Enter Ryan gorgeous, single dad, new neighbor.

With a melting gaze, lethal confidence, and a Bentley to match–
He’s irresistible, despite his grumpy, widowed heart.

As a lonely author, fantasizing about him is out of the question.
But his adorable five-year-old daughter loves my enchanted garden.

Even thorny Ryan can't deny Junie’s pleas to visit my fairytale home.
When she unexpectedly falls asleep here, everything changes.

Trapped by the rain, the walls between us begin to crumble.
A glass of wine leads to a confession...then a brush of fingers.

Our mouths collide, his hardness crushing my waiting lips below.
I’m falling head over heels.

But Ryan’s grief for his late wife puts protecting Junie above everything—risking my heart.
I’m terrified this could tear us apart forever.

Especially now, when two pink lines say he’s about to be a baby daddy…again.

This is a STANDALONE BILLIONAIRE romance. Enjoy a fast-paced journey with witty BANTER, SPICE, and a guaranteed HEA.

Good sweet enjoyable grumpy/sunshine romance.
Good storyline, great strong characters, little Junie is adorable. This is about a widow who doesn't know how to move on without drowning in guilt and a author with severe writers block, due to giving up on living and experiencing love due to a health condition. It's about how they meet an are forced together whilst trying to fight the chemistry between them.
Love Jaclyn's books there always well written good stories.

eh

This story had a ton of potential but I feel like their emotions jumped all around out of the blue with no warning. One minute they just meet then they get frisky and he freaks. Then he likes her again. I understand the author was trying to show his war with moving on but More plot development was needed and events really needed to flow better. Overall would not recommend and probably wouldn’t read another story from this author.

A sublime read read from Jaclyn Hartley . Ryan is a grumpy single dad to little Junie , who is sooooo cute! Next door is author Mila who is trying as she might to write a book. Little Junie likes to explore and she ends up playing in Mila’s garden more and more. When she walks the little girl home , her tech giant father has a rather grumpy tone. Ryan the tech billionaire dad is still grieving his wife so his grumpy? Well it’s rather sad. Mila thinks she must be mad to have a bar of this mean dad, but there’s something there and like the good soul she is she happens to care about his little girl. He’s mean and standoffish most of the time but there’s something endearing she thinks is sublime. Well it’s ok to look it isn’t a crime! There’s a heady thing building and in climatic fashion and also it rained the two forgot to be refrained and after a bit of vino …well one minute loose slips then what do ya know. She’s falling head over heels with all the right feels , but Ryan is hit with a ton of guilt and afraid to risk his and his daughter’s heart. Because he remembers how it felt when their world came apart. But…remember that night , bit of vino , lot of rain ? Well it bore fruit and though he’s already a dad to one,he’s going to be a dad again and there’s more than another one cooking , there’s two after their spending all day and all night …. well you know how it’s done so won’t bore you with that one. Suffice to mention does he stay or runaway ? Does he finally smile and pass more than the time of day or take a while before asking her to stay? Just what’s his intention? Brilliant Jaclyn , an immense pleasure , more than adorable and full head of steamy , its cute and tense a little bit dreamy . Book memory to treasure. Bravo for great writing that’s all so inviting and tantalisingly good . The characters , the plot , this book has the lot. Like I knew it would . It really isn’t a difficult choice , this author gives her characters heart and so much more as well as their voice inside your head from the start. Bravo !. I’m leaving my review voluntarily in my own words..

Mila is an author and Ryan is a tech billionaire. They meet due to his daughter Junie wanting to play in Mila's garden. It is a cold and dreary day when Junie pays Mila a surprise visit and Mila walks Junie home and meets Ryan for the first time. He is rude and standoffish and mean to her all at the same time.

Will Mila and Ryan be able to form a relationship? Will Ryan be able to get over his late wife? Will he be in the baby's life? Let's finish reading to find out!

Arc review

Author/writer - Mila : stuck looking at a blank screen - writer’s block . S knock at her door, an innocent child looking for fun at her neighbours home. A home full of magical aura.

Ryan, single dad of Junie, a grumpy neighbour simply because he wants the best for his daughter. The loss of his wife has devastated Ryan. Having feelings both emotional & sexual feels like a betrayal. When is the time tight to move on? Living again, existing for the sake of Junie.

Survival. We all need to survive after a tragedy. Moving forward is always hard and this is what’s Ryan had to do to survive.

Mila, magical home, comfort, a place where life is full and positive. This is what Ryan found.

A read of emotions to be dealt. Fun & quirky.

This super sweet story made the book difficult to put down. The layers of love in this book make it magical in so many ways. It has spice, grit, and compassion. Some of the advice touched close to home “Remember what it's like to just be Mila, not Mila-with-a-problem. … Find things that remind you that you're alive.” Another great read by Jaclyn Hartley!

Junie was a curious and delightful little girl. She was the reason for Ryan and Mila's initial meeting. Although he didn't come across as pleasant at first, the attraction between them was undeniable.

This was a great book. It was an easy-to-read single dad romance. I liked the characters and the storyline. I was drawn into the story and enjoyed reading it.

OMG this was another great book. It was addicted and it was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. Mila and Ryan chemistry was sexual temptation was on the charts and the chemistry was mind blowing of romance drama as Ryan was a single father. Could this be a second chance at love for the both of them in this small town. I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed. WOW!!

I loved Mila and Ryan!! Ryan's daughter snuck out of her house to go to the neighbors because she wanted to see her magical house and garden. Mila was bringing her back home that's how she meet the grumpy Ryan. Ryan had something tragic happened a few years before that's why he was grumpy. He couldn't seem to stay away from Mila and she was helping heal him.

I didn’t feel like the story flowed well or was believable. I was annoyed with how many times each character said the other characters name.
