Anya When Anya finally gets the call to work on her first feature film, she doesn’t exactly pay attention to the fine print. All she hears is ‘job’, ‘paid’ and ‘Paris’ and jumps straight in. It’s only after the most bizarre train journey sitting next to an entitled–though infuriatingly handsome–stranger, that she realizes she probably should have taken a closer look at her contract.
Now she has to spend the next six weeks babysitting the most famous man in the world, and hope that no lines get blurred.
Danny Danny doesn't hate his career as an actor, but he definitely hates his father. The man who controls every aspect of his life and keeps him in line by dangling the threat of scandal over his head. He doesn’t want to pretend to be someone else, he wants to be himself and play the music his father forbade him from pursuing. When he’s begrudgingly cast on his father’s new feature, he doesn’t intend to make his disinterest subtle. It’s only when his new snarky assistant starts to push him in all the right directions that he realizes what he really her.
Lines are sure to get crossed but for now they have one
Omg I liked this one so much! It was a cute story, and I was hooked.💕
We follow Anya, who receives the call for her first feature film and dives in headfirst. It’s only during a strange train ride next to a charming yet infuriatingly arrogant stranger that she realizes that she should have scrutinized her contract more carefully. I liked her character so much! She's so full of life, and I really liked her arc. She's one of my favourite FMC now. 💗
Danny, the MMC, doesn’t despise his acting career, but he certainly has a strong dislike for his father. The man who manipulates every facet of his life, using the threat of scandal as a leash. I found him annoying at first, but as the story progresses, I get that it was due to his upbringing and resentment towards his father.
I loved how his and Anya's story folded out and how he started considering her feelings. Their moments were swoon-worthy, and I enjoyed them a lot. Cute and fluffy, and just dreamy. Author has written their scenes perfectly and i loved them so much. Also, the backdrop of Paris adds to the charm, commendable job with that and now I want to visit Paris badly.👀💗
I felt that the end was a tiny bit rushed, but I'm glad it turned out perfectly. I'm glad I read this story, and I recommend it if you're looking for a light, cozy, and swoony story.💗
I was lucky enough to be chosen as an ARC reader for this book, and I truly mean lucky.
It’s always a privilege but I’ll always give an honest review.
I am a SUCKER for a romance with any level of spice, and this book just hit all the right spots for me!
Danny and Anya’s story has you feeling all the emotions from repulsion at his obnoxiousness, those girly butterflies each time they get close, the heat when they connect, and frustration and sadness at times that I won’t go into in this review so not to spoil anything!
It did take me a few chapters to get into it but after that, I was hooked and couldn’t wait to finish it (in the best possible way).
It had a good level of spice - though I would have liked it to be a little bit more descriptive or detailed as the scenes seemed to be over fairly quickly! But it was a beautiful description and SO needed, nonetheless!
I would have liked to see the end a little bit more drawn out as such as again it felt very fast paced at the end which some people (myself included at times!), love.
Overall a beautiful read! I can’t wait to purchase a physical copy to display proudly on my bookshelf!
Thank you, for another beautiful read that I can gladly add to my collection 💖
Thank you so much to the author for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Wow! We follow Anya, who’s finally secured her first big “dream” job — or is it? At first, I was very annoyed with the MMC, but I also began to learn that so much of his behavior was a product of his upbringing.
Not long after, I really grew to enjoy his character. I will say that I ate this story up so quickly! I loved the connection between these two characters, and appreciated how much Danny came to respect Anya. Anya was also a character I could see myself wanting to be friends with in real life - she has a good head on her shoulders and genuinely just enjoys living life making each day count. I loved her.
I was grinning ear to ear during so many parts, and I want to read even more about their story & Anya’s next gig.
Please read this book. It was a fast read and SO good. I could see this book turn into a movie.
TW - implied attempted SA (scs), sc accused of SA, cheating (sc, mentioned), rehab (sc, mentioned), emotional abuse (off page, scs), vaping, drugs (incl cocaine, mentioned), blackmail, alcohol, physical violence, derogatory language used towards a woman (scs, briefly recounted)
CW - public play
Tropes - dislike to friends with benefits to lovers, he falls first, secret relationship, celebrity MMC, Paris setting, workplace - film set
Anya (FMC) catches a big break when she has the opportunity to work on a film set even if it is to monitor Danny (MMC). It is immediately obvious that Danny is dealing with some shit and his strings are being pulled by others and whilst he defo started out as a prick, I couldn't help but wonder what his actual passions were.
When Anya and Danny did come together, they were really cute and sweet together and it made for a nice read. I wish Anya kept up with her best friend, Rosie, more whilst she was in Paris not only to keep her update on her budding relationship, but also because Rosie essentially landed her this job anyway. I found it a bit weird that they didn't really talk while Anya was away.
The smut was good but felt somewhat repetitive and always over so quickly. Each scene is a handful of sentence that, to me, read the same as if they were added in as an after thought.
All in all, I enjoyed this debut book and would recommend 💋

I love love love love this book so much! Such an amazing story, the characters were perfect! The story kept you hooked and I honestly have to say I think I’m addicted to this story! The book is beautifully written. I think this is my favourite book of 2024!
I love Anya she is such a strong female lead, Danny is amazing his personality and he is misunderstood. The relationship between them and the tension is hot! The setting in Paris is romantic in its own way.
I can definitely see this as a movie and I would watch this over and over again! For Francesca’s debut I am so proud! I highly recommend this! Well done Francesca! 🩷
Thank you so much to the author for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Enemies to lovers, celebrity romance on a film set in Paris. There was so much tension and all the spice 🌶️
I loved how Danny’s and Anya's story folded out and how he started considering her feelings. Their moments made me swoon, and I enjoyed them a lot. Very cute and fluffy.
Author has written their scenes perfectly and i loved them so much & she wrote the characters really well!
Okay, so this book was super cute and fabulous. 🫶🏻
Packed with just the right blend of sass, sweetness, and giggles. The witty banter between the characters? Pure gold! 🤎
Their first meetup? Hilarious! 🤣🤣
Despite a rocky start, I adored how they bonded.🥹🤎
I loved them. And Danny is the biggest softie for her🤌. Their date? Cutest thing ever! 💋Walking the streets, clinking glasses-Pure Bliss !
And the way she supported him and encouraged him to try singing again.😭🫂 She made him comfortable in his own skin. Right from the beginning, I was completely captivated!
And the trailer scene was jaw-dropping !! I had to fan myself reading that part.🤭
And when she helped him with his lines? Cutest thing ever!😭🤌
When Anya lands her dream job in Paris, she dives right in without a second thought.🫠 Little did she know, she'd be stuck babysitting a mega-star for six weeks! 😌Meanwhile, Danny is tired of his father's controlling ways but finds unexpected inspiration in his sassy new assistant. Get ready for a whirlwind of blurred lines and juicy secrets... shh, it's just between us! 🤎
This read is all about enemies to lovers, with a celebrity romance twist set in Paris— dream setup, right? 🥹 It had all the tension and spice, which is what you'd expect from this trope, but there were a few things that kept me from completely falling in love with it.
Let’s start with the good stuff. The first meeting on the train? Classic misunderstanding, and I was here for it—definitely one of my guilty pleasures 😭 The tension between Anya and Danny was 🤌🏽🤌🏽, and honestly, I was blushing right along with them from the first moment in that trailer. The cute nickname she gives him? ☺️☺️ When she helps him run lines and totally nails the scene? My heart 🫶🏽 The way she calls him "MY Danny"? Please, that’s too cute 🤭
The spice—it hit at 44%, and yeah, I might’ve skipped it 🙂 I get that it’s part of their connection, but I would've liked a less smut and more of those heart-fluttering moments instead.
Of course, not everything was perfect. Danny’s dad? Total jerk. Callum McBride? Knew he was trouble from the start. The third-act breakup? So unnecessary. Danny, what were you thinking?
I’d give this one a 3.75 out of 5. It was fun with lots of swoon-worthy moments, but the smut was too much for me, and that third-act drama was not it. Still, if you're into spicy enemies-to-lovers with a Parisian backdrop, this one's worth the read!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. This is an enemy to lover tale with 🌶🌶🌶. It turns into an absolute cute story and I am really hoping for a second book!!!!! We have Anya who gets a call to work in Paris in movie production, her dream. We have Danny, an ahole actor who has a horrible reputation. Anya arrives and finds out she's Danny's assistant. Not a glorious job she thought she was getting.
The story is told alternating between Anya and Danny. Danny has some baggage and beef with a fellow actor which almost causes him to lose his acting gig, not that he cares too much. But Anya takes her job seriously and doesn't put up with any crap, oh man, she is FIERCE and enjoyable to read!!!
Keep it has so many enjoyable elements woven together in this workplace romance. Danny is the spoiled actor needing a babysitter while Anya needs a job. I thought she handled him beautifully and was even more surprised Danny was willing to listen. Their first meeting on the train to filming was fabulous with the banter and enemies vibes fabulously showcased. Danny and Anya definitely have the spark and yet still make a great emotional connection too. This book was a wonderful and refreshing read that was quite enjoyable after a heavier read.
Not what I was expecting in such a great way! The fmc is assigned to keep the mmc in line during a shoot.. I thought he would be exactly as he was, at first. Think I fell in love with him when she yelled at him in the trailer and he changed his mind for her without telling her that. His dad drove me crazy and I hated how the others on set expected so little of him. However, her belief in him allowed him to open up and really be who he was instead of some perceived spoiled actor. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and would recommend it!
thank you Francesca Shaw for an ARC of Keep It! This was an enemies to lovers, celebrity romance on a film set in Paris. What more could you want. This had all the tension and all the spice. Loved it and it only just got up to 4 stars because i don't love a third act breakup that was just silly. Otherwise really enjoyed Anya and Danny's story!
Liked: - loved the first meeting on the train hehe classic misunderstanding - the tension was so good i was blushing from the first moment in the trailer - cute nickname aw <3 - her helping him run lines and nail the scene????? the cutest damn thing - she calls him MY danny! please - spice at 44%?? we love to see it! so steamy so spicy - sexy & possessive man ok sign me up
Disliked: - danny's dad? that's Mr Asshole to you. burn in hell ya nasty - i knew Callum Mcbride was up to no good smh bastard behaviour. not my baby Pip - third act breakup and for what. Danny what were u thinking pookie
A cozy rom com in a book. It’s got the tropes but it’ll still keep you guessing. It’s beautifully written and smart. The playlist in the beginning is brilliant. Thank you to the author for providing me with an early ARC copy.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Do you ever read a book and feel a little like this:
Cause ooooooooh my GOD! WOW! Hot damn! This got SpIcY! Girl I felt everything! This wasEVERYTHING!
I loved the writing style and enemies to lovers is one of my favourite tropes so this was a treat for me!
The characters were just great. The way how this story was setup? FANTASTIC! Francesca, I'm a BIG fan! Can't wait to see what else you've got in store!
The book was good, first time for me to read a plot like this(about acting and shooting and like this) and the relationship between Danny and Anya literally went from 0 to 100 in a couple of pages like what thaaa 😭 Though I give the book 2 stars because what in the world is this, spice in every 2 pages?! like CaLm DoWn author 😭😭
This story centres around the two main characters Anya and Danny. They couldn’t be more different. One is a regular everyday girl just trying to find her path in life and the other is a famous actor with a bad reputation. Anya gets a phone call that has the potential to change her life. She has to jump on the Eurostar and head to Paris for an opportunity she can’t pass up. On the train she meets an arrogant man who she just can’t shake. Just when the train pulls into the station and she breathes a sigh of relief does she find out that that arrogant man IS her new job. She’s his new PA/babysitter. Can she put aside his personality and get the job done or will he become more than she bargained for ?
Do I recommend this book - yes This book was a quick read for me(less than a day)because I just could not put it down. I wanted to sign on to be an arc for Francesca Shaws next book and thought I should probably read book 1 first and I’m so glad I did. This book is romantic, funny, sad, aggravating, honestly it has everything you need for a great read. My only downside would be that Anya has very little self esteem in the sense of constantly wondering if she’s good enough or thinking that Danny’s going to leave her. That got old but it didn’t ruin the story.
Will I continue with the series - yes Book 2 is just around the corner even though I believe it’s not a sequel. It focuses on Anyas best friend Rosie who we meet in this book briefly. I’m definitely going to pick it up even if I’m not chosen to become an arc because Francescas writing makes for my kind of a good read.
This book is available now on kindle unlimited !!
Everyone has their own opinions and this is my personal one.
Keep It was such a sweet, but also spicy, contemporary romance novel! Set in Paris, it follows Anya, whose dream it is to be a film director. When she lands a job on the set of a feature film, she could not be any more ecstatic! However, turns out the job isn’t all it’s hyped up to be because she’s stuck as a personal assistant for the famous lead actor. But hey! Everyone has to start somewhere, right?
I absolutely loved the dynamic between Anya and Danny. Even though Danny pissed off Anya in the beginning, deep down he is such a softie and when he finally trusted her enough to open up to her, they were so cute together! I loved their first date and how Anya just casually carries the wine and baguette around. As someone who has never been to Paris, I need to know whether this is a common occurrence in real life! 😂
I also loved how Anya was able to convince Danny to get back into music, especially since music is his true passion. The ending at Cassie’s concert was so sweet and now they’re both living out their dreams!! 💞
If you love enemies to lovers, he falls first, celebrity romance, and a Paris setting, you will love this book! Keep It is available on Kindle Unlimited and in paperback on August 15, so be sure to check it out!! 💗
Thank you so much to @authorfrancescashaw for an advance copy!
The plot revolves around the life of Anya, a girl who works in the film industry aspiring to become a director. Her friend Rosie, arranges 'a Assistant for the lead actor' job for her. The lead Actor in the movie she signed up in is Danny Covington, World famous actor but a grumpy chap. He falls for Anya and thus the whole story. Will they be able to successfully keep their relationship secret? Or would they break up to retain their reputation? You'll get to know only if you read the book.
I literally love the book, means I love the Characters, Plot , the setting and the narration. It has a combination of both cute and spicy romance. It beautifully shows the character transition from a non lover tamer assistant to a passionate 'cannot live without you'lover.
The Parisian setting makes the book all the more romantic. The places described and language used makes it love the book more. I could rant about the book whole day, I've annotated the book and if I try including it'll take a few more posts. Tell me in the comments if i should make a series of the annotations. I guarantee you'll laugh, you'll grin, you'll feel butterflies and am sure you'll enjoy this heartwarming book.
The book takes place in Paris as Anya finds herself working as an assistant for actor Danny who has no problem making his hatred for his role prominent. The first meeting of the characters was such a cute and funny moment. You get a slight sense of their personalities which I liked. They start with a 'hate' moment as she finds him hard to deal with allowing us to see banter and sarcastic moments between the two. I loved the first 50% of the book as you get to see how she deals with his 'tantrums' and tries to do her job. However, since they start to form feelings for each other 40% into the book, it feels as if there isn't enough emotional chemistry built. Personally, their relationship formed quite quickly it felt as if they went from dislike to want in a day. There was quite a bit of spice, which I wouldn't have minded if I felt as if they had a strong emotional base. Yet, if you're a fan of fast-paced (ish) books, I think you would like this as it does have a cute Parisian feel with a look into an actor x assistant relationship which was cute to read about.
Thank you to Francesa Shaw for giving me a free copy in return for an honest review.
Admittedly, everything is developing really fast, I would have preferred more banter and more „will they won’t they“ before they actually get together, but this was a really sweet story about a young woman who wants to work in the film industry and a young actor who was basically forced to act by his father.
Anya is hired to be Dannys PA on the set of a new movie he is starring in, which is a difficult job. Danny is known to be demanding and kind of a dick, but the Danny she gets to know over the months they are working together in Paris could not be be more different. Of course they need to be careful, because no one can know about them, especially not this other actor that Danny has had very public beef with in the past.
I loved their dynamic and Anya was very relatable. But Dannys POV had the sweetest lines. This boy fell first AND harder.
You can kind of tell that this is a debut novel, especially when it comes to the spicy scenes. It‘s not on the same level as Emily Henry and Abby Jimenez, but it’s going in the same direction. But I didn’t mind, this author is going places!
Tropes- Workplace Romance Enemies to lovers (kind of) He's her manager Set in Paris He falls first Secret relationship
Is it possible to give ratings more than the rating system!? Because if it is, this book really deserves that.
The plot is so refreshing and the main characters are so pure😭 The book is based on a movie set in Paris and as the words go, Paris indeed has love in it's air and it's portrayed exquisitely in this book. I had never read books based on movie sets and this one did it for me. The chemistry between both the characters is perceptible and their banters are very amusing. If you're looking for a book based on Paris and plot based on movie sets with pure love and mild spice, this book is an instant-loved book. (It's in my comfort reads✨️)
The FMC, Anya is searching for a job and when she hears assistant and Paris, she instantly agrees but when she gets to the location, she gets to know her actual spot on the set. SHE HAS TO BABYSIT THE MALE LEAD. The male lead is Danny and the beginning to this assistant thing was a disaster for her. Will they be able to get on the right track?
The MMC, Danny is working unwillingly in a movie, tossing away his passion aside. His grumpy side is crumbling in front of Anya and he's showing real emotions in front of her. The crack in his demeanor has showed Anya his true passion and Anya encourages him to pursue it but he's scared. The person whom he should despise is becoming more than an acquaintance. Will he be courageous enough to come out of his shel and more importantly accept his feelings for his said assistance??
This book makes you feel exactly how the cover feels. Hope im making some sense xD
I overall loved the book. These complex characters had crawled their way into my heart and forever captured it. They will be living rent free in my mind for a while.
The aesthetics of the book is what drew me more into these two. I am in love with how the whole premise was written. I've been reading a lot of smut lately and this was like a breath in fresh air for me as it wasn't as descriptive and I loved that fact even more.
Anya is the "babysitter" of Danny an actor and their meet cute Uhm well it wasn't exactly cute tbh but entertaining. Anyway Danny finds it hard to get into acting not that he is a bad actor but it just so happens cz of his dad. Anya and Danny's bickering and then finally them getting together was amazingly done.
It took some chapters for me to fully get in but once I did it had me hooked until the end.
Thank you so much for the ARC! This is an honest review.
• ARC review ❤️ A round of applause for Francesca Shaw for giving us this beautiful, cozy, hot and funny romcom. This book took me out of an imminent reading slump. It is not a fast-paced but there is enough time to connect quickly with the characters making the story flow beautifully. I fell in love with my girl Anya, the struggles, the self doubt about career paths, i felt it to close to home and i loved having someone i could connect with. And my sweet beautiful Danny baby boy, i love this man. He falls, first and harder and has a way with words that made me giggle. Having been to Paris many times made it easy to connect with the imagery and it shows that the author lived there. I could practically see myself going to the same spots our favourite characters went and also i have this strong desire to go back. Thank you for allowing me to advanced-read this beautiful novel. Everyone should read this ❤️
Anya thinks this is her big break, getting to be a PA on set of a film being directed by someone she really looks up to. Turns out, she’s essentially hired to be a glorified babysitter for hollywoods most temperamental bad boy, Danny Covington.
And to make things even worse, they meet on the train to location but Anya doesn’t recognize Danny and she also doesn’t realize he’s who she is going to be working with (yay for not fully reading paperwork). So when he’s rude to her, she’s rude right back (as she should be!!)
Even though they don’t get off of the right foot, Danny is instantly intrigued by the girl who treats him like everyone else. Soon enough, the two are spending a day off together gallivanting around Paris and deciding it’s okay to give into their mutual attraction… no one has to know, right?
-he falls first -enemies to lovers -celebrity x assistant -falling in love in paris -secret relationship -forbidden -he calls her “freckles”
Forget It by Francesca Shaw, the second book in The It Girl series, tells the intertwined story of Rosie Taylor and Jackson Harper. Their one-night stand at a best friend's wedding leads to an unexpected pregnancy, setting the stage for a heartfelt journey of love and discovery.
This novel is a smooth, effortless read with a refreshing absence of the typical third-act breakup trope. Shaw navigates Rosie's emotional journey with sensitivity, highlighting themes of bullying, being plus size and emotional abuse by family members, which adds depth to the narrative. Readers sensitive to these themes should approach with caution.
The romance unfolds gently, showcasing genuine moments of swoon-worthy romance and heart-fluttering scenes. Shaw's storytelling captures the essence of slowly falling in love, making it a delightful read for fans of romantic tales.
Overall, Forget It is a captivating book filled with memorable moments and a truly remarkable love story.
This was a lovely little read. Funny, light-hearted (mostly) and heartwarming. Anya (FMC) finds herself floundering in life. Working crap job to crap job and making little progress career wise, she is at her breaking point with the film industry. Thankfully, an opportunity arises that could finally help her break into the industry that she has dreamed of working in all her life. This could be her big break…if only she can survive working with the infamous Danny Covington. Danny (MMC) has a reputation for being notoriously difficult, so has been assigned a PA (babysitter) for his next film. Despite his best efforts, his grumpy and standoffish attitude doesn’t fly with his new PA. The “enemies” part didn’t last very long, I could have happily read more of their back and forth to be honest! I thoroughly enjoyed Anya putting him in his place!! But otherwise a nice little read, especially on the tail end of reading a tension-filled fantasy series.
Thanks to the author for providing advanced copy of this book for me to read
While it took me a couple of chapters to fully engage with the characters in this book, I’m glad I put in the time and kept reading. Anya and Danny have quite the story.
She has finally landed a job in the industry. She has been desperately trying to break into… The grumpy man next to her on the train, turns out to be a world, famous actor, who she essentially is assigned to babysit. What could go wrong besides everything?
The dual perspectives in alternating chapters made this book enjoyable. I appreciated seeing the story from both of their points of view.
For a debut novel, I was absolutely impressed, and I would happily seek out future books from the author
I enjoyed this book and thank you to Francesca for an arc. I loved the Parisian setting in the book, it's making me want to go back to France as it's been a while. So we meet Anya who is working on a film set as an assistant where she meets Danny, an actor. At first, he is our grumpy and arrogant mmc but once he gets to know Anya, we start to see the softer side of him. I fell in love with him around the 30-40% mark and there were lots of moments where I was kept on my toes and I gasped out loud (but in a good way). I started to get into the story more once I saw more of the development between characters. I think Francesca is very talented and is able to capture emotions and dialogue well. I would love to read more from her in the future.
I felt like this book was being rushed. The development of Anya's and Danny's relationship after they got back together was very vaguely mentioned. I had expected at least for Danny to grovel more and to at least see how they face other challenges that came their way, especially with what happened to Danny's father.
In the beginning, there was a long build-up, but after that, the story felt a bit rushed. I would have liked to have known what had happened to Danny's father and co-star and how the show that Danny acted in turned out.
I feel like I was cheated on those details. Honestly, at one point, I didn't even want to finish the book, but I just forced myself to finish it.
