A leveled reader, like Frog and Toad et al, but instead of the usual friends, these two are a couple. And why is Mildred restless? Teach your child about the 'nesting instinct.' So sweet.

Tema says, "Mildred wanted to move to a different home and Sam built a bigger house and I liked everything about it."

I thought it was a very cute story, entertaining, and easy enough for new readers to feel confident. The pictures were detailed and fun as well. A nice and quick library read.

Mildred and Sam are a mouse couple who live under the roots of a daffodil, which is pretty hardcore in the creativity department. But the two mouseys wanna move out, and certain areas in the forest are not good options. Like, living in the tree with the owl....not cool. Or even hanging with the home bunnies! (Some people find cute bunnies a threat to true stability. I'm not sure why this is.) They finally dig out a new burrow, and hope this new home will last a lot longer. To say more would probably cheapen the effect of this story, and it is great fun. Bravery is found when allowing stories of cute animals to shine light into this dark world.

This book is a very easy first chapter-book for any student. There are repetitive statements to help students stay engaged with such a long book, and shows a lot of different imaginative things. It explores different animals and flowers, and I would recommend this book for a library or for students to do group projects with.

Mildred and Sam are two wondrous mouse creations who fit right in with Beverly Cleary's mouse heroes and the tales of Geronimo Stilton. They are quiet mice who live and play and avoid trouble with bunnies (who I doubt are into mice in real life.) The book is whimsical and fun, and the painted illustrations are so adorable you'll look at the mousies in awe. IE: AWWWWWWWW! I love this series from the get go!

This book is about Mildred and Sam who wants to live in a large house. They were dreaming about different place and how things would happen if they stay there. They dig and they try to make room for a bigger house. Finally when the house is finished they painted what they saw in the dream and live happily with their baby mouse. This book is a good book to introduce children to chapter book.

Very cute unique level 2 reader. About two mice a "husband and wife" Mildred is unhappy in their 'small' house and as they go and have fun in various places she wonders what it would be like to live there; but then Sam starts to dig their burrow bigger and bigger until it's more cozier for them and then at the end of the book their 'visitors' do come.
