Join a disheartened, yet triumphant little boy as he journeys through the exploration of his own magnificence. He quickly discovers, after trying to keep up with his peers, that his own idea of average is more unique and outstanding than ever imagined.
This is a cute book, the illustrations are especially bright and colorful, which is definitely an added bonus. The story line is interesting, but not particularly brilliant or anything. Still, I can see children liking this story. This was a sweet book that I would probably recommend to others.
This book celebrates self-esteem. A young boy is wishing he had all these things to make him magnificent: a tail, spout like a whale, stripes, etc. Then, he realizes he is the only one that is magnificent me!
This book could be used for community building activities and it is good for the beginning of the year when the class is getting to know each other.
It's hard for me to rate Children's books. Ever's too young to really enjoy the story. But I enjoyed this one. It'll be interesting to see how well she likes this as she gets older and we revisit it again and again.
