Love the texture but a book called PERFECT pets should not describe a naughty dog on the first page. Seriously, they use the words "naughty dog". Is this irony?

Cute little baby sensory book featuring animals commonly kept as pets. My young son enjoys the different textures and photos of animals. This book is part of set that I think I’ll be reading many times. The blurbs about the animals rhyme and are descriptive.

Just like these "perfect pets" this is a perfect book for my son right now. Not a lot of words or pages, & he seems drawn to the textures they've chosen for each animal. Nothing revolutionary here, just a simple sensory board book.

It's ironic that the first perfect pet is a very naughty pup. Otherwise it's a good baby book, with a nice rhythm and fun textures.

I was pleasantly surprised by this board book. Each spread takes a moment to name an animal—no, actually give the pet a name—and describe an action associated with that animal. The pages are touch-and-feel but the text does not always prompt the reader to describe the texture. A solid background color behind the photographed illustration could let this book be used as a color primer too. But there is more story here and certainly more characters than I’ve grown to expect from primers because of the names, because of the actions; I welcome that.

I am currently reading this book at least once a day. It's a real winner with babies, but gets a little old for adults.
