Cassie Clinton is a senior citizen in Patterson. She discovers that she is being evicted and decides that she will take a job as the lifestyle manager at the soon to open Serenity Suites so she'll have a place to live. Unfortunately, a recently widowed resident of Patterson, Jessica Patterson, falls off a balcony at her house during a party. Cassie doesn't think it was suicide. Was it actually murder? Cassie is determined to solve the murder. This is a quick cozy read that seems like the start to a fun series. Serenity Suites seems like a good place to meet an eclectic group of people.

Cassie Clinton is Miss Marple for the twenty-first century. She’s a fun and spunky character who takes a remarkably objective approach when exploring a murder mystery in her hometown. In true Miss Marple fashion, she’s unafraid to investigate any possible culprit – even if it means her own friends end up under the magnifying glass. I hope to be as fierce as Cassie Clinton in my 70s!

Challenging read

Good story and I do like the characters. The mixed up relationships however are rather sad and the ending even more so.
