"I love how Amber weaves part of her journey into this narrative. I recommend this great read!" - Barry Woodward, Author of Once an Addict "Running from Myself is an unfiltered glimpse into the raw and real world of a life looking for love and acceptance" - Rodric Williams, Author of The Real Deal
Have you ever felt like you wanted to run away from it all? What happens when there’s nowhere left to run?
Set in Manchester, this novel follows the lives of Sapphire Jones, Zoe Ross, and Amy Bellows as they navigate life’s challenges and struggles.
Sapphire craves love and security but finds herself seeking it in all the wrong places, using drugs and alcohol which leads to a lot of pain and heartbreak.
Zoe has created the life she wants, but when her estranged father reappears, she's forced to confront the pain of her past and decide whether or not to let him back in.
Amy seems to have it all on paper, but battles with the pressure to live up to expectations. She's constantly seeking those things that bring immediate gratification, not considering the consequences they may bring.
As they go through their own journeys, Saff seeks forgiveness and turns to God, while Amy indulges in drugs and men, and Zoe tries to find her place in the world. Will they be able to overcome their challenges and find the love, forgiveness, and freedom they're searching for, or will they continue to be held back by their past and try to keep running?
I know Amber from a writing group we both go to and I have one thing to say - you did it girl!! How awesome to read and review an actual published book by you!!
A story inspired by Amber’s real life and her faith, which inspires a lot of her writing, this book is engaging, fast-paced, powerful and hopeful! There is something for everyone to get from it, regardless of your faith, and I was emotional reading it at times by the power of Amber’s beliefs and the comfort it brings. I could feel it from the pages and it really made me think and compare things in my own life. Amber - we will have a great discussion about this!
I love reading other people’s stories, and the power of people and what they have to say is very special - particularly us everyday, non-celebrity people! Amber proves that if you have something you want to share, then you should go ahead and write it!
Lovey read, story was so fluent and easy to follow, was really nice reading and picturing the characters finding themselves and developing throughout the book. Demonstrates that we can all change for the better if we want more for ourselves and family!
