The Fae love to make deals, never accept one unless you have no other choice.
There are some things in life worse than death.

Iris has lived a sheltered life in the village of Brine since birth, a settlement on the outskirts of the human lands. Fae stalk the forest that backs onto her land. To step into the forest means death. Everyone knows this and keeps away, living a mostly peaceful life.
That is, until one day when the fae come for Iris.
They need her to break the curse confining them to the darkness. Beautiful, seductive and their magic oh so powerful, Iris does not stand a chance. However, her knight in shining armour shows up in the form of another fae from a different court. He is of the Seelie and only wants to help her, keeping her from their enemies, the evil Unseelie.
After an attack she is unable to return home and must put her trust in her saviour.

Light versus Dark. Day versus night. Good versus evil.
The choice should be easy, but life does not work in absolutes.

This book is aimed at readers 18+ and has some scenes younger readers might find distressing.

I was privileged to receive an ARC for Deliverance and here is my review.

Hey, book lovers! 📚✨ I just finished “Deliverance” by Erin O’Kane, and I’m totally spellbound! This fantasy gem takes us deep into the world of the Fae, where deals are made, and nothing is ever what it seems. 🌲✨

Meet Iris, our sheltered heroine from the village of Brine, living right at the edge of the ominous Fae forest. 🌳🌌 She’s been raised with the knowledge that stepping into those woods spells doom. But when the Fae come calling for her, you can feel that tension kick in! They need her to break a dark curse, and trust me, these Fae are as seductive as they are dangerous. 😱💫

Just when things look bleak, Iris is rescued by a swoon-worthy Seelie knight. 💖 He’s got that perfect mix of bravery and charm, and you can’t help but root for their budding connection amidst the chaos. But with the Unseelie lurking and dangerous choices on the table, trust becomes a complicated game.

What I loved about “Deliverance” is how it plays with the gray areas of morality. The fight between light and dark isn't as clear-cut as you might think—O’Kane really digs into those messy choices that make life so interesting. 🌙⚔️ It’s a rollercoaster of emotions that keeps you guessing till the last page!

So, if you’re craving a magical adventure filled with intrigue, romance, and a splash of danger, look no further! “Deliverance” will whisk you away into a world where every decision has weight and the Fae will keep you on your toes. 🥰📖

Grab your copy and get ready to be enchanted! ✨

ARC Review of Deliverance by Erin O’Kane👑🗡️🦋🌸☀️💘✨🤞🏼📚

This book was just what I needed for my Romantasy fix of the week. I really loved the world building in this first book, and how everything we learn comes with questions about what the actual truth, what we perceive and what's actually a lie. The cunning nature of the fae can be felt throughout the entire first book, spectacular.

Our Iris is a fascinating character, I loved getting to know her, as well as Alaric and Nyx, hopefully we’ll get to know Ciaran in the next book, because I am intrigued! This book had me at the edge of my seat, I literally could not stop reading until I finished, and I’m already super excited about the next one already!

“Can death be reasoned with, and is a second chance worth the cost demanded of me?”

“There’s something about him that calls to me, and more than just because of his physical appearance. When he looks at me like this, I feel seen in a way that I’ve never experienced before. I just met him, a fae, and somehow I feel complete with him here.”

“I see you, Iris, for everything you are and everything you will be. We have been placed in each other’s path for a reason.”

“I am the god of death, no one is going to keep Iris from me now.”

‼️Book coming out Today October 4th and I'm already ecstatic for everyone to read it and love it as much as I did‼️

“Deliverance is the first book in a new fantasy why choose series, with everything we can expect when the fae are involved and some original twists as a bunch of cherries on top. I really love the world building in this first book, and how everything we learn comes with questions about what’s truth, what’s perception and what’s a lie. The cunning nature of the fae can be felt throughout the entire first book, adding a sinister vibe to the whole thing.

Our fmc Iris is a fascinating character; she has learned to adapt in a town that looks at her as “other”, and it somehow seems to help her adapt as well once she’s thrust into the world of the fae. I like all the mysteries surrounding her, and how men from very different walks of life are drawn to her. The only thing that troubled me a little bit while reading, was the relationship building. Even though fated mates are involved, her connection with Alaric felt a bit rushed to me. It also doesn’t help that he doesn’t have chapters in his POV while one of the other men does. I’m assuming there are good reasons for writing it like this, it just threw me out of the story at times.

Still, this is a minor detail and overall this was a great story I definitely enjoyed. I’m looking forward to find out what book two will bring!

Wow really loving fae lately

So I actually love this book it has it all Light vs Dark. Good vs Evil. Day vs Night. Conflicted feeling. Choices choices 😜Coulda shoulda woulda 😜 emotional roller coaster, cheeky little romance while it was all going down. 😍🔥 I need book 2 right now. I need to know what's next... Now I whats the truth and what's a lie....... Now the ending.... I felt it was abit abrupt ...... I don't know how to feel. I know I want to(need to) see what happens. I feel like I can't even give less in a star mark because I do love the book that much and maybe Erin wanted it to stop like that. And I know I will read the next one 😉😉😉😉

Do not go in the forest, I mean do not go in the forest......what does someone do when told not to....they enter the forest 🤣🤣

Loved the world building, the story plot was really good, such a easy read, was on the edge of my seat the whole time 😊 Felt like it was a cheeky tease for what's to come 😁 it did have me hooked from get go 😊 I read it in one sitting.

This book, this cover, just everything. If I could rate it a million out of ten I totally would. I really do love books by this author and I really enjoyed this world. We meet Iris, the FMC who lives outside the village of Brine. She's a bit of an outsider and the entire village thinks she's odd but to her, she's just Iris. The Fae are the bad guys, or at least that's what every human is told, but there are so many things that the humans haven't been told.

When the King's Ministers (I want to say that's what they were called) come to the village of Brine, truths come to the surface and it seems that the world that Iris thought to be true, isn't quite what these thought it was. There is a fine line between light and dark but what is bad isn't always necessarily bad and vice versa for good.

The ending was a total kick in the feels and left me hungering for more of this world and the characters within it.

Deliverance, book one in the Deliverance Duet follows Iris Bloom, a simple girl living on the outskirts of the village of Brine, close to the forest that is home to the Unseelie Fae. Iris enjoys spending time with flowers more than people, and spending time in the forest with her friend “Forest” (aka Nyx), but most of the townspeople barely speak to Iris, thinking her as crazy for talking to the flowers, even her own sister Jasmine finds her odd. No one ventures into the forest, since entering the forest usually means death, but what happens when the Fae leave the forest, looking for Iris? When Iris is thrust into a prophecy about a “doe” who will unlock the Unseelie Fae curse, she becomes the prize between Alaric, prince of the Seelie Fae and Ciaran, the heir to the Unseelie.
With good vs evil, light vs darkness, Iris must choose her side, but what happens when the good guys turn out to be just as bad, if not worse, then the one’s she’s been warned to avoid?

Do not go into the forest. Do not trust strangers and keep your wits about you.

First book in a why choose duet.
Fantastic story and world building is amazing as always in Erin’s books.

Iris lives a sheltered life in Brine. She talks to the animals and plants. Her sister Jasmine and the villagers thinks she is different. She sells her flowers in the village market.
A trader offers her a bracelet for protection against the fae.
Her home is on the edge of the forest where she finds peace. A mysterious visitor Nyx has been a friend to her over the years.
Iris is taken away from her village for the Seelie Prince Alaric and his friend Blaise to protect her from the Unseelie Ciaran.
Is Iris the one to break the curse of the Seelie and the Unseelie? The battle of light against dark.

Deliverance by Erin O'Kane

📚The blurb:

Deliverance : Book one in the Deliverance Duet https://amzn.eu/d/2gfvJz3

✨The review:

Deliverance is the first book of two in Erin O'Kane's newest series. If you love a short, Fae, fated mates romance and are ok with shock twist endings then this is the book for you!!

Not only was I lucky enough to Beta read this but I also received the finished ARC! After reading this twice I still adore this story and the characters. I especially loved Nyx, love me a mysterious morally grey character.

The way this story flows so smoothly and how the world building is described it really helps build a picture of this world and the people in it. Also a little sprinkling of spice is always good to keep you on your toes!

This is out October 4th so go preorder now!! You will not regret it!

Deliverance is book 1 in this duet. I enjoyed this book because it has fated mates, fae, folk law, seelie courts, and a possessive MMC. Iris is the FMC that has always been pulled by nature but does not know why. There are three men that want her and will do anything for her. This would have been better is we would have had more information of the old magic and why things came to be. The ending was a bit upbrought and it did not make a lot of sense to me. That is why I gave this a 3.5 and rounded up. Other than that, it was an interesting and unique fantasy read. In the next book I love to have more back story.

Stunning. Wonderful book. YOU MUST READ!

Let me just start by saying that I NEVER EVER submit reviews. I read and I read but that’s it. This book. This has changed my mind. Erin, you have written a brilliant book and I cannot wait for the next one!
Iris is a human who does not fit into her world. Ever so slightly out of step, she stands out for all the wrong reasons only ever finding delight in the one place that she is told she must never go - the forest. And so it begins…fae, gods, action, passion. And that cliffie…..
Bring on the next book!

I absolutely loved this world!
It's a bit more fantasy and I absolutely loved it!
The pull between seelie and unseelie, life and death was everything! And that ending ripped me to shreds!
Some parts were a bit confusing or frustrating but that's because we only have the information that Iris has (or mostly) and there's so much she doesn't know yet!
The slow build up of the relationships was also amazing and so completely right for the characters.

How pretty is the book's cover? That is what initially drew me in, but the story itself is an intriguing fae romantasy.

The world building was great, the characters were interesting - I really liked Iris as a FMC. She'd been sheltered, living so close to this forbidden forest, and always pulled to nature for some reason. She wished to be 'normal' but there was more to her than meets the eye.

When fae come to town claiming she is the key to protecting them, she discovers both the seelie and unseelie want her.

I love a good seelie vs unseelie/light vs dark story, and enjoyed this one. I'm all for cliffhangers, and this one was a doozy! I can't wait to see where the story goes next.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. The world building and character building is amazing. It is a tease, there is so much you are constantly wondering and once you learn something new there is more to figure out. The ending leaves you wanting to find out what will happen next and wanting to figure out the connections between everyone.

I adore Erin's writing, Deliverance is no different. The story plot is so good and really draws you in!

Deliverance is a slow burn, which usually has me shouting just get on with it 😂🫣 .... Although it really fits well with the plot line and has you wanting to know where the romance is going to play out.

I devoured this book in a day and cannot wait for the next installment.

🦋 WOW 🦋

YES the butterflies have meaning and once you’ve read this the cover is PERFECT ✨

I love a romatansy but I especially love one that has good world building!

Our FMC, Iris is a bit of an outcast in her village, Brine.

Fae come searching for her she’s their key to breaking a dark curse.

It becomes a war of Seelie vs Unseelie.

Iris is saved by a swoon worthy Seelie Knight. Her, Alaric and Nyx start their journey towards solving the curse but the Unseelie are also after her.

I’m desperate to see more of Ciaran and in desperate need of book 2 😏😏

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me!

Fave quotes:

“My long dead heart pounds in my chest when she’s near, and I finally want to live. She makes me feel as though I could have what I’ve witnessed during the centuries I’ve roamed this land—love.”

“Can death be reasoned with, and is a second chance worth the cost demanded of me?”

Trope list:

💙Fae
🦋Enemies to lovers
💙Why Choose
🦋Found family
💙Fated Mates
🦋Unknown powers
💙Seelie vs Unseelie

What a great start. I feel sorry for Iris and what she has to deal with from her family and the village she lives in. I love that she has the mysterious guy, Nyx, for friendship. I cannot believe the book ends like this. I can't wait for book 2.
