Ryan, in a bid to dodge unwanted publicity, schemes with Sadie’s brother to don a frumpy cardigan and hide out as Sadie’s new barista, all while pretending to be the lowly, humble, and underpaid assistant Jack. As Ryan, aka Jack, navigates the world of frothy lattes and delectable pastries, he finds himself entangled in a caffeinated comedy of errors.

Get ready for a romcom filled with belly laughs, witty banter, and a pinch of chaos, where what seems like a harmless little white lie creates a conundrum that Ryan didn’t see coming—and a broken heart that Sadie may never get over.

This sweet, clean romcom is filled with fun and quirky characters in a small town setting. Sadie and Ryan find themselves in a forced proximity situation when they must share Sadie’s family cabin while also working together at Sadie’s cafe.

As the two began to fall for each other, I wanted Ryan to find the courage to tell Sadie about his secret identity. Yes, he definitely should have found a way to be truthful with her earlier, but he was afraid of losing the woman he was falling in love with. Knowing that the way she felt for him had nothing to do with how rich he was made it even harder for him to take that step.

This story had fun side characters who provided plenty of comic relief as Sadie and Ryan navigated a new relationship and then eventually had to deal with the fallout from Ryan’s deception. I enjoyed this sweet story, which was the first book that I have read by this author. I look forward to reading more in the future.

Book 5 in the multi-author "Cinnamon Rolls and Pumpkin Spice" series introduces a charming, secret-identity twist! Meet Ryan, a billionaire CEO who's taking refuge in a small town under the alias "Jack." He's hiding out with the help of his best friend's sister, Sadie, the hardworking owner of the town's favorite cafe. Sadie's brother has sent Ryan to help out at the cafe, hoping to give him some much-needed downtime while keeping his true identity under wraps.

What follows is a delightful mix of chemistry and forced proximity, with Ryan trading boardroom meetings for latte art and Sadie finding herself drawn to this mysterious stranger. Their banter is sharp, witty, and oh-so-sweet, bringing warmth to the cozy café and creating a heartwarming atmosphere. As Ryan struggles to keep his secret intact, he finds himself tangled in a hilarious web of mishaps and misunderstandings.

This romantic comedy is bursting with belly laughs, swoon-worthy moments, and a touch of chaos. When Ryan's hidden identity finally comes to light, he's faced with the ultimate challenge: winning back the woman he's come to love, with a little help from a group of meddling but lovable seniors. Will Ryan's deception cost him the love of his life, or will this end in the happiest ever after? Prepare for a feel-good, full-length romcom with mistaken identity, irresistible kisses, and lattes that are as frothy as the love story itself - with an extra pump of sweetness!

Ryan is hiding out. After being named as one of Denver's hottest billionaire bachelors, he's being stalked by crazy socialites who are only interested in his money. So his business partner sends him to help his sister Sadie in the small, out-of-the-way town of Pinecone Pines as a barista, undercover as his nerdy, fashionably challenged, underpaid assistant Jack.

Sadie's life is a mess. She has a flood in her flat above her shop and she needs help running her bakery/coffee shop. So her brother sends her some help in the way of Jack, who would actually be pretty hot if he ditched those frumpy brown cardigans, tan slacks and the amazingly awful fishing hat. Is this guy 35 or 85?

I loved watching the friendship and then romance develop between Jack/Ryan and Sadie as one disaster after another drew them closer together. But Ryan's secret identity is causing a problem and the mud does fly when Sadie finds out the truth. I loved how the coffee shop regulars, a band of opinionated, grumpy pensioners, club together to help Ryan win Sadie's heart and win back her trust.

It was a lovely, funny story with well-written characters and a beautiful small town full of charm and warmth.

Cute quick read, but fleshing the story out more would have made it a better read.

I liked the idea of the billionaire hiding in a small town and (obviously, yay!) falling for the best friend sister. The town was cute and the secondary characters were nice if not a bit too cooky for me.

Please send me all the pastries from the bakery, though!

The third act breakup was to be expected, but I was fully on Sadie’s side- Ryan/Jack is a full grown man and does not even have the decency to confess before he starts kissing her.
Plus not even a apology?!!! Man oh man. Sadie, he distracts you with his hunky bud, dump him! ;)

3.5 stars rounded down.

I received an ARC of this book (thanks!) and these are my own opinions.

I’m a sucker for billionaire romance and when you add the whole disguise storyline it makes it even better. This story was so wholesome and adorable. What’s better than owning your own bakery? That would be a dream come true for me. Ryan and Sadie’s chemistry was amazing. Loved this story so much and it was such a privilege to read this arc! Definitely adding the physical copy to my shelf! ❤️❤️❤️

Oh my gosh! That was just so fun and funny. And simply so stinking cute! You know from the beginning what the landmine is that they’re going to trip over, but at least half the fun was trying to figure out when and how it would blow up. I loved watching Ryan and Sadie getting to know each other and falling in love. And the geriatric mafia that both helped and hindered their budding relationship were completely hilarious. I don’t want to let go of these characters now that the book’s done. My fingers are crossed that a couple of their supporting cast might get books of their own in the future.

I really enjoyed the first half of this book. It was a cute story with fun characters and a great setting. I liked that it was fall-ish without trying too hard like some of the other books in this set. I don’t love the lying trope but it was working for me… mostly because I was hopeful the author was going to do something fresh with the trope. That didn’t happen. And I just started to get annoyed and bored through the second half. There was way too much about the quirky town and not enough relationship development. The continued lying was getting old. I didn’t like the two epilogues and it just seemed like there was a lot of stuff that didn’t make sense. Like how had Sadie not met the real Jack until after the wedding? Why wouldn’t Ryan have invited him to the wedding? And she hadn’t been to Ryan’s office? He just completely up and moved permanently and was totally able to run his businesses from Pinecone Pines without ever needing to take his fiancée/wife into the city for a business meeting? Okay now I’m just ranting but I’m really disappointed on how this one turned out.

Book 5 from the multi author Cinnamon Rolls and Pumpkin Spice series. This one features a secret identity MMC, Ryan who is a billionaire CEO, hiding out in a small town. Sadie is a cafe owner is said small town who’s brother has sent his best friend (Ryan) to help out in the cafe for a few weeks, in a ploy to help Ryan hide out. The undeniable chemistry between Ryan and Sadie is too sweet, throw in a little forced proximity and we have the cutest love conundrum with some brilliant supporting characters to boot! The banter between them all is great.

Cinnamon & Spice Conundrum by Leah Busboom is the 5th book in the standalone multi author Cinnamon Rolls and Pumpkin Spice Series. This was my first book by this author and will not be my last. This story is told from a dual POV, following Ryan/Jack & Sadie. Ryan is named one of the hottest billionaire bachelors and gets stalked by a bunch of woman only interested in his money so his best friend/business partner, Sam, tells him to lay low and hides out under the name of Jack helping Sam's sister Sadie at her coffee shop. This book was such a sweet, cute, and funny story. I adored it.

This was my first taste of the Cinnamon Rolls and Pumpkin Spice series and now I want more! A billionaire finds refuge in a small town with a new, temporary job, a different identity, and in close proximity with his business partner’s sister. While he expected rest and relaxation what he didn’t expect was how eye-opening his experience will be and how his world will be turned upside down in the best way possible.

Chemistry from the start, it’s clear that Ryan and Sadie have something special brewing between the two of them and it’s not just the yummy coffee. The identity swap that Ryan had hoped would help set him free ends up putting him in bondage and Sadie is none the wiser. There were so many moments that I was whispering to the pages, “Just tell her already!” It reminded me why I struggle with secret-identity troupes. Seeing someone being lied to, even when it’s not done in a nefarious manner, is always tough for me. Luckily, this is a happily-ever-after situation so I did finish the novel with a smile on my face but there were moments of frustration and for good reason.

While I adored both Ryan and Sadie the crazy Pinecone Pines inhabitants are truly what won me over. Their loving snark towards one another were some of the best tongue-in-cheek moments but even more than that I love seeing wonderful characters gathering together and rooting for the greater good. It’s one of the things I love about small-town romances the most.

This was a deliciously adorable novel that was the sweetest escape for me. The writing flows so seamlessly that it felt like it took no time at all to finish, which was perfect during this increasingly busy season. It is full of all the things that makes fall so delicious and was the perfect start to my fall reading season!

~He’s running from his true identity. She’s falling for his fake persona. Oops! That wasn’t part of the plan…

“If I was falling for Jack before today, l’ve now fallen for him completely. There’s no going back.”

-Cinnamon & Spice Conundrum, is a delightful quick-paces romantic comedy filled with swoony kisses, lattes, and mistaken identity. There is an extra pump of romance and a sprinkle of cinnamon and spice to top it off! With lots of humor, witty banter, a pinch of chaos, where what seems like a harmless little white lie creates quite a conundrum that one character doesn’t see coming-and a broken heart that another character may never get over will have your full attention. Yet, there is hope shinning through in this story, as you watch friendship and then romance develop between Jack/Ryan and Sadie as one disaster after another drew them closer together. This story has a wonderful balance of cozy fall vibes, many quirky and lovable characters, a beautiful small town full of charm and warmth, and engaging plot. You can’t help but root for the love story from start to finish. This quick-paced delightful story, is worth the read!🙌🏻📚🍁

📚 ARC Review 📚

Cinnamon & Spice Conundrum ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After being named one of Denver’s 25 most eligible bachelors, Ryan’s life has gotten crazy. Women are coming from everywhere in hopes of getting a date with him. While waiting for things to settle down, his business partner, Sam, suggest that he goes and works for his sister. She needs a new barista at her coffee shop, that is in the middle of nowhere. Ryan agrees to this, but also wants to take on a new persona of a geeky, “old man”, complete with cardigans, just to make sure no one recognizes him. While this plan is working, Ryan didn’t take into account that he would fall for Sadie. Now, how does he explain that he isn’t the down to Earth guy named Jack that she thought he was but rather Ryan, the billionaire and her brother’s business partner?

This was such a cute romcom with laugh out loud and swoon- worthy moments. I loved Sadie‘s chaotic self but also she had the biggest heart of anybody. Ryan/Jack is immediately taken by her, and I loved seeing him out of his “rich lifestyle” and in more of a relaxed setting. The support he shows Sadie is amazing. Their banter is great and I liked how we got the point of view from both characters. Speaking of characters, the side characters were hilarious. Wilbur and the other meddling senior citizens made the story fun! I absolutely enjoyed this closed door romance with all the fall vibes.

This is book 5 in the Cinnamon Rolls and Pumpkin Spice series but can be read as a standalone. This book will publish on October 8, 2024. Thank you to author Leah Busboom for my advanced readers copy. This is my honest and voluntary opinion.

Book Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After CEO and billionaire, Ryan Turnbill, is named one of the most eligible bachelors by the Colorado press, he begins to receive unwanted attention from women. So when his best friend and partner recommends hiding out in Pinecone Pines, he jumps at the chance. Going undercover as Jack Ryan, he falls in love with the small town, quirky cast of characters residing there, and Sadie, owner of the local coffee shop. But when Jack’s true identity is revealed, the community struggles with his lies. Will he be able to mend his new relationships, or will he return home more desperate than when he left?

Cinnamon and Spice Conundrum by Leah Busboom is the fifth book in the multi-author series, Cinnamon Rolls and Pumpkin Spice. This series is comprised of eight standalone novels written by eight amazing authors. I have been slowly making my way through the entire series this fall.

Due to the fact that this series can be enjoyed in any order, this is the second to last book I need to read (to complete the entire series). While I have enjoyed every single book so far, this one will stay with me!
One of the biggest reasons being Sadie, the FMC.

In writing Sadie, Busboom penned one of the purest characters I have had the privilege of reading. I was extremely touched to see how thoughtful, caring, and giving she was to her entire community. The scenes involving her and the single mother she hires were among my favorites! If only we all strove to be more like Sadie, the world would be a better place.

Read this book if you enjoy:
-mistaken identity
-meddling community (mainly senior citizens)
-forced proximity

First of all... that cover! 😍😍😍 It screams fall, but the reds, pinks, and oranges are so fabulous. My eyes are really happy!

But there is no conundrum about how much fun this sweet romcom was! If you love all the Hallmark-worthy vibes, then you will love this!

I didn't know how much I would love a good billionaire trope until this year and reading several that have been done really well. I adore it even more when our billionaire is a cinnamon roll... it's a recipe for guaranteed success! Jack Ryan (who is really the secret billionaire Ryan Turnbill in disguise!) is such a sweetheart. He thinks going "undercover" will give him a break, but he really finds that he loves life a little more small town than he would have ever expected, thanks to one generous barista, Sadie.

What makes this book so much fun is "Team Ryan," all the local septuagenarians who take up Ryan's cause when his secret identity gets blown. These hysterical curmudgeons made this story unique and laugh out loud funny.

Billionaire, secret identity, forced proximity, brother's best friend... my favorite tropes are all here, and I loved the result!

Cinnamon and Spice Conundrum is Book Five in the Cinnamon Rolls and Pumpkin Spice series.

I received a complimentary copy of the author's story to read and review. All thoughts contained here are my own.

- Billionaire romance
- Best friend's sister
- Secret identity
- Small town romance

This secret identity romance was so adorable! After billionaire Ryan is named as "most eligible bachelor", he is hounded by women wanting to change that status! Wanting a reprieve, he takes up business partner and best friend Sam's suggestion of staying for a while in the small town of Pinecone Pines. Sam's sister runs a cafe there and is understaffed. She could definitely use a helping hand! Bonus: Sam owns a cabin in town where Ryan can live. However, they decide it's best for Ryan to go incognito. So he emulates the very old fashioned assistant Jack..even taking on his name and borrowing his old car.

Sadie loves her cafe. What she doesn't love is the leaking water heater or bill that will come from it. Luckily, she can stay at her brother's cabin with the new helper, Jack. He is very handsome, but could use a fashion update..

Ryan is having a great time making coffees for the quirky residents of town and helping Sadie where he can. He is drawn to the sweet and sunshiny Sadie, but he isn't in town long..plus she's his best friend's sister!

How will Sadie react when she learns the truth? Has Ryan lost his chance on happiness?.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 5 in the Cinnamon Rolls and Pumpkin Spice Series, a multi author standalone series. Cinnamon and Spice Conundrum is told through Sadie and Ryan's pov and is a clean and sweet mistaken identity romance.

Though Ryan enjoyed the comforts of his success, he also received unwanted attention so it was easy to understand why he wanted to keep his identity a secret. While he tried to alter his appearance, he was genuine in the way he treated others, especially Sadie. Like him, Sadie was also considerate of others and tried helping them however she could. Even when she faced her own struggles, she kept a positive attitude but I liked seeing her accept help from Ryan. Their relationship was one of insta love that worked well with the pacing of the story. The romance was a clean one consisting of kisses that weren't steamy and no curse words were used. Aside from the romance, I liked the small town setting and the characters who lived there. Readers who are looking for a lighthearted fall read may enjoy this one.

Ryan is stalked by women in a jam because he was named one the top eligible bachelors in Denver. So off he goes to a cabin in the woods till it quiets down, and he gets to work at his best friend's sister's coffee shop.  He is going into full incognito mode to make this work, even changing his look and vehicle.

Sadie is always calamitous into some mayhem or misfortune, but she owns The Cinnamon & Spice cafe. A cafe mishap: Ryan or Jack arrives at the wrong time and has forced proximity as they will share a cabin together.

The awkwardness and one-liners in this book make it a lighthearted comedic read, as well as Sadie's propensity for clumsy shenanigans.

There are some memorable moments in this book, between baking and fishing. I love the simple games and time spent together playing and enjoying each other's company in this small town.

The hidden identity finally comes to light and causes many issues. Still, I was waiting for this predictable shoe to drop. Ryan pulls out all the stops like a hallmark movie, winning Sadie back, and they live happily ever after. The actual intimacy in this story is just kissing, not steamy.

The book recommendations in the back are original. I loved the cute little chart.

Sweet and cute small town setting with funny octogenarians!
Ryan has been named most eligible bachelor and he’s not happy about it. All these women coming out of the woodworks to stalk him for his money. So he goes to Pinecone Pines to hide. His friend and business partner has set it up, he’s wearing cardigans and a weird hat and will be serving coffee at Sadie’s coffee shop. Sadie happens to be the sister of his friend, but she’s not aware of what’s going on.
This fun and quirky town that has a lot of octogenarians living in it, who don’t have much else to do then come and drink coffee and eat scones and complain about prices and elaborate coffee flavors. Ryan has named himself Jack for the occasion and of course he gets close to Sadie and Sadie can see how attractive and kind ‘Jack’ is. But how will this work with the lie in between them?

It was cute and funny and I loved the added characters of the town. I loved the coffee shop and the festival and the funny pines everywhere. Judith was a sweet addition as well, I would have liked more of that back story but as Leah says in the back, she might visit that story in another book.

This charming, sweet read based in a small town centres around Sadie who owns a bakery and coffee shop. She runs into trouble when her barista quits and she's left in a lurch. Her billionaire brother and co-owner of an IT company, Sam based in Denver, steps in with a plan and sends her "his assistant" to help out until she can find a permanent replacement.
Ryan (aka Jack) is running from the vultures and stalker women in Denver ever since he was selected as one of the most eligible bachelors of the year. He is co-owner and CEO of the IT company with Sam and between them, they devise a plan for Ryan to hide out in a frumpy, nerdy disguise at Sadie's bakery as Jack, "Sam's assistant" with a penchant for hairy, brown cardigans.
Ryan turns out to be such a sweet, helpful guy and he is a real cinnamon roll main character. During his stay, he bumbles through his white lies to Sadie and the small town's folk but despite this, his relationship still manages to blossom with Sadie. He kept putting off revealing his true identity and it caused him to land with an epic fall.
Sadie is an incident prone, feisty and kindhearted lady who does not seem to be very good with her calculations as her bakery, though flourishing is not making her enough to cover her expenses. Ryan helpfully steps in to assist her with that too.
There are several old folks who add to this endearing tale and made it vastly amusing with their antics, comments and behaviour.
This lovely book was such a fun read with great characters, a believable storyline and amusing banter. No swearing and only kissing. I rate this book 4.5*.

Leah has brought a brilliantly funny story with false identity, grumpy oap's, pinecone decorations and a gorgeous best friends sister. Sadie runs the local coffee shop/bakery and is totally accident prone, everything she does seems to go wrong. Except for her cafe although she's only breaking even, but won't take help from her rich brother. She desperately needs help. Ryan is fed up with fake woman throwing themselves at him, and now he's on the top bachelors list it's only getting worse. Pretending to be his partners nerdy assistant he goes to spend time in his friends cabin working as a barista in his sisters shop. This is a hilarious tale of a corporate well dressed man taking on a nerdy grandad dress style with the name Jack Ryan. This story is so captivating it just draws you in the mishaps and entertaining regulars really do make for entertaining reading. I loved everything about this story and couldn't put it down. Make sure to add to your tbr list

I don’t like outright deceiving people, but this was a super cute story. Ryan is put on the list of 25 top eligible bachelors and has been hounded ever since. So when an opportunity popped up that he could hide out in a small town until the hype wound down, he had to take it. I really liked the character of Ryan/jack. He was not a snooty obnoxious billionaire. He was a down-to-earth all around nice guy. Sadie was trying to make ends meet with her small coffee shop bakery. With the pinecone festival just around the corner she definitely needed extra help, so when her brother Sam told her she could borrow his assistant for a couple weeks, she agreed. I liked her integrity and friendly demeanor with all the quirky townsfolk. The story is charming and funny. The sweet romance that ensued was delightful. It is a great, lighthearted quick read that will put a smile on your face. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was so so fun! It may be my favorite out of the series thus far! 🥐

Jack/Ryan and Sadie’s banter is top tier. The clumsy, disaster ridden Sadie mixed with the more sauve, put together Ryan was such a fun duo.

As a cardigan LOVER, i found myself laughing so hard at all the references to Jack’s cardigan’s. I really
enjoyed “Team Ryan” throughout the story too.

The character development on Jack/Ryan was top tier and i didn’t want it to end.

Forced Proximity at its finest! I also liked the third act breakup this time. I think you know if it’s a case of he’s lying about his entire identity that you knew it was coming but it didn’t feel drawn out or overdone and I enjoyed the interim as well as the makeup.

Not a spicy book, but i absolutely loved it! 😊

Definitely have become a fan of this author & will be recommending it to my peers!

Walk a mile in the nerd's shoes

I had a lot of fun watching Ryan and Sadie tiptoe around each other as he pretends to be her brother's nerdy assistant, rather than his billionaire business partner. Sadie has such a kind and generous heart, and goes way above and beyond to help her customers and the other businesses in Pinecone Pines. Ryan needed some time to step back from the image that earned him a spot on the Denver's 25 Most Eligible Bachelors list. As the nerdy assistant Jack, no one would recognize him behind the black-rimmed glasses and the Mr.Rodgers cardigans. I loved the gang of senior citizens who brightened each day with their colorful attitudes. This book felt like a warm and fuzzy blanket to wrap around you on a brisk autumn afternoon.

I purchased a copy of this story and voluntarily chose to share my review.

Contains: kisses and lying.

It was pretty clear that things were going to go poorly when Ryan refused to come clean.

I dunno. I find it a bit of a red flag when someone gives you the cold shoulder rather than talking things out. It is a pretty unhealthy way to have a relationship. Ryan is set up to be quite snobbish about his clothes and cars but then it turns out that he knows how to cook, do yard work, fix profit margins, and apparently bake commercially too. Then there’s Sadie who is nice to everyone but herself yet still tries to change the way Ryan looks.

I found it weird that the author titled Ryan’s chapters as Jack/Ryan as if we didn’t know they were the same person. I also found the onomatopoeia annoying. I’d rather just read, “we heard a knock at the door” than “ knock! Knock”. It was distracting at times.
