After a chance encounter in a private room at The Black Door, Brooks begins to doubt every choice he’s made, while Tate embarks on a relentless pursuit to recreate the best night of his life.

Brooks
I’m the same as the rest of my friends, but also nothing like them. Handsome as many and richer than most, getting men to come home with me has never been a problem. At least, not until I meet Tate Barlowe at The Black Door. He’s younger and less experienced, but more than willing. He also sneaks out before I can get his phone number, leaving me to rethink everything between us.

Tate
After months of trying and failing to lose my virginity, I decide a little lie is in order. Astor Brooks basically falls into my lap, so falling into his bed is the easy choice. I’m not after a relationship, and even though he wants me to stay when we’re done, I don’t see the need. The problem, I later find out, is that Brooks is one of a kind in every way.

Leaving Brooks high and dry was a bad decision, but once again fate brings us together, and I’m ready for another chance. The problem is, I lied to him about more than one thing, and Brooks won’t take what he doesn’t trust.

I want Astor Brooks, and I’m not giving him up without a fight. I’ve never met a man like him, and I never will again, but he’s never met a man like me either. The way he loves is like nothing I’ve ever experienced, and even though he makes me cry, I like it. I love it. I love him. There’s so much in this world outside of our control, but when I’m on my knees for him, everything makes sense. Now, I just have to make sure he feels the same.

I believe I have thought that every "Trophy Doms" book I have read to have been my favorite...good thing I own them all and can keep trying out this theory:) I'm happy to say that this one also has slotted right into my "favorite" category.

Brooks and Dylan...they are so different that you would never have expected them to be anything, much less a couple. We knew Brooks was capable of one-time "hookups", but I honestly didn't think he was capable of, or even wanted, to fall in love. Brooks had been so aloft... so sure of himself throughout the first two books...but he and Dylan experienced intense, perfect chemistry that shouldn’t have even been possible with a spontaneous hookup. Of course, this is a Kate Hawthorne book, the mistress of making the impossible, totally possible.

It’s obviously wouldn't be all smooth sailing, but Brooks and Dylan's ability to be what they each needed was nothing short of fabulous. Once these lovely men get their acts together, they have a pretty good shot at that "happily ever after"… that is if they lived in the proverbial bubble... but, they don’t. So, we get to enjoy the treat of many more of Kate Hawthorne’s delightful "Trophy Doms"... and I will be there as the conflict hurtles toward a fulfilling conclusion. That just leaves one final Dom on his own, and Hawthorne also sets up the promise of him having an amazing relationship and an epic conclusion. The only tears for this story all belong to Dylan, but like Brooks, I found everything about it absolutely perfect.

Is this series for everyone that likes M/M romances? course not...just as all mysteries are not for every reader. This series from both the east and west coasts is heavy on what could be called the BDSM side...but since I have absolutely zero desire to take up BDSM as my new hobby, I don't at all mind reading about others that are into it and enjoy it...so I have found this entire series of "Trophy Doms", both east and west coast, to be an interesting adventure.

Each couple from this series has been beautiful and incredible in their own unique way, but I find Brooks and Tate taking up residence in a special place in my heart.

I'm a total sucker for a man with a vulnerability, a weakness that he's reluctantly accepted as a hole in his heart that will never be filled - until it is. But he doubts because that illusion of what he desires, NEEDS, has always been ripped away before - until it isn't. That's Brooks in a nutshell. An intense, all-consuming man who does and feels EVERYTHING with every ounce of his being.
The way Tate comes to understand Brooks and not only accept every part of him, but reassure him again and again that not only is he okay with who Brooks is, but that he likes it - LOVES IT - made my heart cry and sing and melt a hundred times while reading this.

I'm so impressed by Kate Hawthorne's ability to create such different yet strong characters who want and need things and manage to find it like yin finding yang in their partners. It's incredibly addictive, and not only am I looking forward to more books from this author and the last book in this series, but I'm going back to read some of the backlog of books she has out there. As someone who rarely reads contemporary and usually wants an outside plot in addition to the romance, I'm DRUNK on this series, this author's writing, and these characters, and I can't wait to consume more of them.

Book 3

Brooks falls next with the unexpected submission of Tate. Crying never sounded so good. Definitely not a kink I've read before.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who were into the same kink and who were almost obsessed with each other. I loved their relationship and that they knew that they were perfectly matched. Lots of emotions and feelings in this story. This was an MM story with mature content.

Pretty much every Trophy Doms book I read is my newest favorite Trophy Doms book, and this novel is no exception. Brooks and Dylan experience intense, perfect chemistry that shouldn’t be possible during a spontaneous hookup. Of course, this is a Hawthorne book, so it’s obviously not all smooth sailing from there. That being said, once these lovely men get their acts together, they have a pretty good shot at a happily ever after…if they lived in a bubble. Since they don’t, we get to enjoy the treat of many more of Hawthorne’s delightful Trophy Doms (east and west coast branches) as a long-running conflict hurtles toward a fulfilling conclusion. That just leaves one final Dom on his own, and Hawthorne also sets up the promise of an amazing epic conclusion. The only tears for this book all belong to Dylan, but like Brooks, I found everything about it absolutely delicious.

This is another fun story in the Trophy Dom world. In this book, Brooks gets his HEA when he connects with Tate. Brooks had a sad break-up two years before and he's almost convinced that he will never find any man who is a true match for him. He has peculiar tastes, including a kink where he gets off on his partner's tears, and he refuses to settle for anyone who isn't compatible with his needs.

Tate was totally inexperienced when he first encounters Brooks in a BDSM club. Brooks gives him a night like none other and, feeling overwhelmed, Tate flees as soon as the session concludes. He spends the next six months going through different men, but he can't find anyone who comes close to the night he experienced with Brooks.

When the two men cross paths again, will Brooks give Tate another chance? This book brings back the other MCs in the Trophy Dom world as supporting characters. This book has strong emotions, passion, fairly low-angst, and a found, forever love.

First, I want to thank Kate Hawthorne for unlocking a new kink. I hadn't realized crying could be a kink!
I loved everything about this novel. I loved how Tate burrowed himself under Brooks' skin, and Brooks realized he couldn't let Tate go. This novel also felt—for lack of a better word—softer than the other books. Kate likes to rip out hearts and stomp on them and give them back, but this felt like she only ripped our hearts out and decided to be gentle and give them back. This whole series has had that soft, romantic haze, and I like it.
I also like that the other Trophy Doms have had their story arc concluded in a way. Everyone has been in each other's peripherals, and it's been amazing to read.
I'm excited to read Alex's story; he's the most intriguing. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and highly recommend it if you like soft Doms with a pension for making their Subs cry.

Brooks: 5 out of 5
He is rich, good looking, athletic (he runs every morning). He likes it rough and hard during sex but always gentle and takes good care of his lover afterwards. He is a very keen observer of people , interested in having a committed relationship "either you accept me as who I am, or stop wasting my time and get out of my life" attitude. He has a bad breakup in the past so he's wary of Tate's intentions.
Conclusion: He is a perfect seme.

Tate: 3 out of 5
He was a virgin before he let Brooks took it, had been searching high and low for how Brooks makes him feel during sex. He is kind and won't hesitate to help his friend. He is Dylan's roommate who I think is one of the main characters in the next book, Alex being the other one.
Conclusion: He is a boring uke.

This is my favorite in the series so far. Brooks and Tate actually have a fairly angst-free romance. They figure out pretty early on that they have great chemistry in and out of the bedroom. I loved Brooks. He was confident, straight-forward and insistent. Tate was fine with this. I was glad that they actually communicated and talked through issues.

The main conflict in the story came from secondary characters. Brooks was still dealing with Kale's issues from the previous book. Kale's attitude was affecting the whole friend group and Brooks was trying to get him to see reason.

And then there was Tate's roommate Dylan. He had many problems that will be addressed in the next book in the series. I look forward to reading it.

Complicated friendships are complicated

The characters are definitely the main draw here. The plot is largely sex and kink but the dynamics of the two main friend groups provide a bit of non-sexy time interest. I liked that Tate made a strong effort to maintain his friendship with Dylan and didn’t immediately forget about him in favor of Brooks. And Brooks has some unique interests that I haven’t read before. The consent and aftercare was well done and an interesting contrast.

My word this woman is talented! This is a new level of hotness and interesting. There is a kink in here that the Dom is into and the sub is more than capable of giving him. Being turned on by making your partner cry or seeing your partner cry in scenes is definitely new to me. Kate did a wonderful job bringing the heat level as always. Be ready for some panty melting yumminess.

Brooks' Darling

I always love reading Kate's books because I find new and interesting things every time. I adore Brooks and Tate. I loved the way they loved and the way Brooks cares for Tate. I was happy to see the Doms all come together and work towards fixing their friendship. My heart hurts for Alex and Dylan and I can't wait to see how they get their HEA.

I think this and the first Trophy Doms series are my favorite series going right now. I just love the kink level. This one was of a similar high quality, and I liked it better than #2 but not as much as #1, which is my favorite so far. I felt like LI was really super bland with almost no personality. Brooks deserves more.

Thoroughly enjoy the Trophy Doms series. Kate didn't disappoint with this one. Always love when a different or unusual kink is introduced in a story. Brooks and Tate are both meant for each other and their chemistry was fire.

This is such a fun series. The emphasis on consent is always top tier and I adore that. Happy to see Brooks' story. A little anxious about what comes next, honestly, but I enjoyed each and every page.

I liked the relationship between Brooks and Tate. It wasn’t the typical call me Sir and kneel for me type book. I liked that but.. the breath play was a hard pass. The amount of sex they had … Viagra maybe… also physically damaging.

Holy crap Brooks & Tate..”Are you gonna cry for me?” JFC instant panty exploding moment.
The things they do to find their love for each other and the level of submission between these 2 men is chef’s kiss and goals for real life.
Kate never steers us wrong with her men. She knows exactly what we all need from them.

too much of the book revolved around other characters’ issues, which i’m glad were resolved, but it overshadows the main couple. also, all the relationships for the following books are foreshadowed, but I feel like there was so much about Alex and Dylan in this book that I don’t know if I even wanna read theirs. i feel like i know everything that’ll happen. also just needed a little bit more angst for the actual main couple of this book, and this is coming from a person who hates things like 3rd act breakups or miscommunication.
