This was my first Leslie Georgeson book and I just enjoyed it so much! Absolutely wonderful characters with whom you quickly become invested. Its not super spicy, but oh so sweet. The storyline was great and there were definitely some twists and turns all the way to the end. A definite recommend!

Even though scared of what his future will hold, Adrik approaches the Popov family to join their ranks of their crime family. Adrik is riddled in scars and carries himself in way that his him working his way up the ladder. When he sees Annika, a Bratva princess, he decides he will never leave this life if only to keep an eye on her. He plans to stay in the shadows but Annika is haunted by her past just as Adrik is. After years hiding from her Adrik crosses Annika's path and soon they form a friendship that slowly builds to something more. Can Annika see past his scars and perhaps Adrik find a happiness he never knew existed?
A ton of twists in this story. Both Adrik and Annika are carrying scars from things that happened to them. I liked Annika a lot, she was perfect for Adrik. Adrik's character was written in such a way that you are pulled to him in an emotional sense, you just want to become his protector. Highly entertaining read.

This is the 5th book in a fantastic Mafia Romantic Suspense series. Although part of a series, each book can be read as a standalone. I started this series by reading book 4 and did not feel that I was left missing any necessary information to enjoy and understand the book. The same can be said of this book.
Having read book 4, I was quite intrigued by the character Beast and I was so glad to find out that we were getting his story next. Named Beast due to his face being badly scarred and damaged in a dog attack when he was younger, Adrik has no hopes of ever finding a woman who will see past his scars and fall in love with him. Definitely not Mafia princess Annika Popov who he has secretly crushed on for many years. All that changes when he is put in charge of keeping her safe from an attacker who has already tried to kill her.
I really loved Adrik and Annika’s story. Ardik is an amazing character. Such a tortured, wounded soul with a horrendous past. I totally fell in love him reading this book. I also adored Annika. She’s not a typical mafia princess full of airs and graces with no regard for others. She’s totally taken by the strange Adrik and can’t fathom the pull that he has on her.
This is a beautiful story to read. I loved reading how Annika’s patience and love brought out the true Adrik and that he got the HEA he so desperately deserved.

I'm a bit in mafia period here and when I read the blurb for this book, I was immediately intrigued.
Adrik Volkov took a big risk 12 years ago when he asked for a job with the Popov Bratva. Very badly scarred by an attack, he left his abusive home at 17 and vowed to come prove his father he was worth a lot more than him. He got accepted into the Popov Bratva and became their interrogator earning him the name Beast.
Annika Popov is the granddaughter of the Pakhan. She's a very talented piano player, different from all the other females in the family, keeping to herself. She was attacked at one of her concerts so badly that she ended up in a wheelchair temporarily. The person responsible was never found. She's always been curious about Adrik who is doing everything to hide his face from her, as to save her from seeing something so ugly.
When Annika receives threatening messages from her unknown attacker again, she's moved to a safe place with two guards of her chosing, Adrik and Timofey. This is a chance for her to get to know Adrik better. Bit by bit the two grow closer and confide in each other, telling each other how they feel different from all the rest. They admit to their feelings and become really close.
Meanwhile the person behind all the messages is plotting his final attack and Adrik will have to do everything in his power to keep the woman who's come to mean the world to him safe.
This was a new to me author, she surprised me with her writing style which I really loved. I admit I secretly love a scarred hero, whenever I see a blurb that mentions one, I'm intrigued and want to read it. Here the author made the reader sit on the tip of his chair with wanting to know what exactly had happened to Adrik. Annika was portrayed as a sensitive, yet strong woman who was determined to get know Adrik.
I loved everything about this book and will definitely be looking into the previous stories in this series.

This book is about Beast aka Adrik Volkov. He is nothing like his father who had double crossed the Russian Bratva.
Adrik was hoping for a place in the Bratva but in order to earn a spot he must fight Timofey.
Adrik was at the lowest of the low when he left home. He couldn’t stay any longer. He needed to get away, get settled and then go back and get his little brother.
He watched Annika from a far. Kept his face hidden from most. No one really knew what happened to his face. I loved his character. He had had such a rough life along with his little brother Damien but Adrik refuses to bow down to his dad and follow in his footsteps. He wants something better.
He becomes a trusted member in the Bratva after being with them for about a decade. He watched Annika grow from a weird young girl who was like an outcast, to a beautiful, young, talented woman. He knew he couldn't get close to her because she's a Bratva Princess and then she would see his face and run from his ugliness.
When Annika's life is in danger, the two men she chooses to protect her at a safe house is Adrik and Timofey.
This book had some crazy suspense I didn't see coming that's for sure. I loved the friendships formed throughout the book. Annika was such a strong character even with her recent disability. She doesn't back down from a challenge even when the odds are stacked against her.

If I could give this 10 stars, I would! I knew I was going to love this book. I’ve read Thief which is the 4th book of this series, which I’m obsessed with. So knowing how much I loved that book I just KNEW I was going to love this one. The suspense, the action, the thrill…I LOVE IT. Adrik has had it hard growing up. His face is what everyone notices at first, and he’s gotten crap for it more times than he can count. They call him BEAST because people say he looks like a monster. His face is all messed up from a terrible time in his life. His dad is a horrible person. He left his home before he did something he would regret…but he didn’t want to leave his younger brother. So he left to try and make a life and he would come back for his brother once he was settled. He joins the mob and ends up having to protect the families daughter, Annika. She was attacked and now is receiving threatening messages. Adrik has always had an eye for Annika and now that he’s responsible for her life and for protecting her, nothing will stop him! Annika sees him for WHO he is and not by what he looks like. If you love a book that gives you all the emotions, read this! You won’t be disappointed! Leslie Georgeson is becoming one of my favorite authors! Her books keep me interested and I can’t seem to put her books down. I finish her books in one sitting. They’re THAT good. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this series!

Adrik was abused by his father when younger, his mother left, he has horrific scars on his face from dog attack, out on the streets fending for himself he promised he'd return for his younger brother when he could.
Adrik approaches Popov Crime Family for work put to a test he becomes part of the family as their glorified thug & interrogator his face being so scared & deformed would scare anyone who dies anything against Popov family.
Anika Popov is the families princess, sheltered & Adrik has fantasies about her, she doesn't know he watches her he could never do a thing about it she's off limits being his Bosses daughter.
Adrik is asked by his Boss to take Anika to the lake house & protect her at any cost when she's threatened by a psychotic stalker, he stays on the shadows at all times but what happens when she finally sees his face.
I definitely recommend to get this heartwrenching intense, riviting story following the journey Adrik & Anika take you on will they get a HEA its a absolute must read story so well written it won't disappoint I loved it so well worth the read.

Being in the folds he has viewed her from a far as he would never be able to get close to the Princess, which is Annika, but when her life is threatened, she requests the most unlikely bodyguard Adrik. Alone in the lake house will she see through the veil of ugliness and see the true heart of the Beast?
This is the fifth book in this series, and this is a heart-warming beautiful book. It can be read as a stand-alone story, but it would not hurt to read the series if not yet read. Adrik is such a strong character with a horrendous past but shows the determination to work to get better and the overall goal to be nothing like his father.
The chemistry between these two jumped off the page and the forbidden love angle adds the depth to the story as it goes along. I loved the twists and turns of the story and that the pasts intertwine to make the plot even more interesting. I loved how strong the female character Annika was and that it was not her nature to back down from anything. I could not put this book down and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

My first book by this author and what a great story. Adrik is a beast in all the ways he needs to be. He looks like a beast, he fights like a beast, he works like a beast and he loves like a beast! However, the one he loves doesn’t know he even exists. Interesting twist is she does see him. Annika is the Bratva princess he is ordered to protect. He has been watching her for a long time and when a real beast closes in on the princess, Adrik has to bring out his inner beast to protect and save her.
This is book 5 in the series and includes may other characters that may already have their own story written. I am definitely going back to read the others as this series/family is intriguing and exciting. I enjoyed both of these main characters and all their “flaws” which really are just personal characteristics. I am also glad to see there are other stories being written about the rest of the family.
I’d recommend this new to me author and her Bratva family to those readers who like a little action, a little romance, a little steamy adult time, and a little plot twist to wrap up a really good story.

Another explosive story from this author! I loved the story and the characters! This flows along at a great pace and I quickly read it in two sittings! The characters are resilient and not what I expected.
At first I was hesitant because Adrick is only a bodyguard and I wasn’t too interested in him. Boy was I wrong! His back/story is fascinating! The growth he had over his life is remarkable as he has faced many struggles and horrendous things. It is amazing he turned out like he has. I love that he had the secret crush! I still remember when I read the line anout how he had touched her for the first time…he was sooo excited or giddy. So refreshing! I could hear his thoughts in my head.
While I enjoyed Annika, her plight and her strength I was more empathetic to the beast and how everything would play out for him. I did like all of the family involvement into the storyline.
Overall this is an outstanding addition to the series. This is the fifth book in the series but can easily be read as a standalone. The author does a good quick job of artfully filling pasts where they need to be. I look forward to more!

The quote I chose for Adrik is: “No. I don’t associate with him. I hate that b****rd. I haven’t seen him since I was seventeen. I don’t even know if he’s still alive. I hope to f*** he’s dead, cause if he’s not, the next time I see him, I’m killing him.”
Annika is being hunted and is being whisked away by one of her dad's men. They call him the beast and she soon learns why that is. He is to keep her safe, but she doesn't know how to help him with that. The quote I chose for Annika is: “Remember how I told you piano helped me with my trauma? Well, I truly think if you spend time with Harley, he can help you with yours. I’m not saying you’ll be cured after one session, but it can’t hurt to give it a try, right?”

Leslie Georgeson writes a gripping dark and twisted tale that has become addicting. She writes compelling, and complex characters that will entice you to want a closer look.

His looks alone scare people that is where his name Beast came from. Annika has led a sheltered life as a Bratva princess. She is off limits as the Boss’s daughter, but he can’t help but love her. She is the one thing that is able to see past his scars and see him for who he truly is.
This book in the Popov Bratva series is full of everything you could want to keep the reader enthralled. As with the other books in the series there is intrigue and suspense, passion and angst, lies and deceit, secrets and betrayal, danger and violence.
It reminded me a bit of Beauty and the Beast in a twisted and dark Mafia way with a scarred and broken man, a forbidden princess and a monster of a stalker this instalment will have your heart breaking and melting at the same time. There are also some steamy moments that will fog up your glasses, moments when you are on the edge of your seat and moments when you will need the tissue box.

I was hooked on every word right from the very start and I didn't want to put the book down! I loved the characters who drew into my heart right from the very start. Reading all that both Adrik and Annika had been through was very emotional but also showed us that you can persevere through anything and come out stronger. In some ways both characters see themselves defined by what they see as their flaws but at the same time try help each other to realise that to be untrue. When danger comes after Annika yet again Adrik is the only one who can save her and he will do absolutely anything to do just that!
This is the 5th book in this series and the first one that I have read. I had no problem reading it and fully enjoying it as it does read easily as a stand alone however I will now be going back and reading all the previous books for the series as I am completely intrigued now to find out the full stories for all the other characters mentioned in this book. I just know they will be great too!

Wow…where to start with this review. This was a great 5 star read. This was my first read from this author and I was pulled right in. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down. I will warn that there are some things that are meant for 18+ readers.
Beast (Adrik) as he is called due to his face being horribly scarred is a member of the mob. He is trying to make a life for himself so that he can help his younger brother who is still stuck at home with their dad. When he is given the job to protect Annika things get interesting. I loved Annika, she saw him for his true self and I loved it. Will Beast let his walls down and let Annika in? Can he keep her safe?
Overall I really enjoyed this book. We get suspense, steamy moments, scary moments, teary eyed moments and so much more. This book can be read as a stand alone. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I can’t wait to read more from this author. 1-click and get started today.

This book is a very easy to read book. It went quickly for me because I couldn't put it down. The characters grasped me by the heart strings in the very beginning. This book has its share of drama and edge of the seat suspense. The characters have trauma and growth. This book hits on everything that I enjoy in a book. It gives the characters a voice, almost as if they are speaking to the author in person. The details in the book are in a class above most. Being able to actually visualize the events in the books AND feel the emotions that the characters have makes this book one that can't be put down. You will feel yourself giving off the emotions of the characters to anyone who dares to try to talk to you while reading it. Tears to raging anger and everything in-between is the emotional roller coaster you will go on. I highly suggest this book to anyone who is wanting to escape from their own reality for a little while. Must read!!!

I was so excited the Adrik got his own story. I have only read Dominik's story so far but there was something very endearing about Adrik. As soon as I saw this was coming I knew I had to read it ASAP and I have no regrets.
Adrick has quiet the interesting back story which only made me like him more. His determination to make something of himself was admirable.
Annika is not the typical Princess, so someone coming for her made no sense. She simply wants to live as simple of a life as possible.
I was on the edge of my seat as I turned pages and may have lost track of time reading when I should have been doing other things like working.
I need to slow like down a bit so I can go back and read the others before the next book is released.

Having not read the prior 4 books in this series, I wasn't sure what to expect from any of the characters. What I found was an amazing group of Bratva members and their trusted employees. Adrik is hired as a guard for the Russian mafia which puts Bratva princess Annika off limits. Adrik adores her from afar, all while keeping his scarred face hidden from her sights. I loved the courage that Adrik had and the weaving of his past story into the present. His story is harrowing and allowing himself to open up to Annika allowed us a deeper connection to this fragile soul. The author had me feel connected to the storyline and characters from the first chapter and was one of my favorite mafia romances to date.

Amazing! Heartfelt, heartbreaking, and heartwarming all in one! Adrik is a loyal Popov boyveik, or soldier, and he has been for a long time. It’s the only place he ever felt accepted because of his facial deformities. He is known as the beast. From the moment he saw Annika Popov, the granddaughter of the Popov mafia leader, he knew he needed to get to know her. But she was off limits, and he wanted to shield her from having to see his deformed face. This is a love story, but it’s also a family story. The Popov family is strong and wealthy, and they worked very hard to be in that position. Adrik’s family, and family trauma, are nothing like the Popovs. Sadly, his past comes back to haunt him. Read this book if you love suspense, betrayal, family loyalty, and fighting for someone you love.

I cannot get enough!! I have not read the other Bratva books, but I now definitely plan on going back and reading them! This novel stuck out to me because I absolutely love the Beauty and the Beast story, and this sounded comparable. I was not disappointed in the slightest. You will love everything about Annika and Adrik. The author did a fantastic job creating these characters and did the same with the plot.
This is definitely still a Mafia novel, so do not get that confused with the romance entwined within. I can guarantee you will still find it thrilling and mysterious. I definitely did. I highly recommend this book. You will not be able to put it down!

This is the first book by Georgeson I have read, and I will definitely be reading more. I enjoyed the depth the characters have as well as the little details that paint a more vivid picture. I really enjoyed this story and would recommend it to others.

I absolutely love a good Mafia story and I have to say this has got to be amongst the best I’ve read. It was an absolutely fantastic read – from beginning to end I was completely hooked. I think Adrik had my heart from the very beginning – with everything he went through as a child, my heart broke for him so many times. Annika was not what I was expecting at all from a Mafia Princess! I loved her character straight away. This story was so heart-warming – I loved the slow burn between Adrik and Annika, it was so perfect for them. I just absolutely adored them both!
I read this book as a standalone and it was also the first I had read by this author but I will absolutely be looking for more to read!!

I read Beast in one day. I kept telling myself ok one more chapter then I’m going to stop. Next thing I know it’s 2 am and I’ve finished the book. What I enjoyed most about this story is that Adrik’s past was revealed in little pieces. It kept me reading. When the whole story of his childhood was revealed my heart hurt for him. Annika is such a treasure. I enjoyed her character a lot. She’s had her fair share of trauma but she’s strong. It was like their lives led them to each other. This was a good read worth the lack of sleep.

I truly believe that our soul mates are suppose to have such a significant impact on our lives that we are forever changed and this book just cemented that believe.
This book is superbly written with well developed characters and an amazing storyline.
I did not read the previous books in this series, so it can definitely be read and enjoyed as a standalone. But I loved this author's writing so much I'm going to read the other.

Beast is a stunning mixture of mafia and beauty and the beast esque vibes. Leslie Georgeson creates a suspenseful story full of betrayal, slow burning love, friendship, family. Not to mention a chest full of the dark side of humanity to those different from the norm, and faith in the wrong people?! I loved the HEA with these two "weird" humans who found each other in the midst of their pain and sorrow, and the complicated journey they had along the way. All the piano scenes had my heart and soul trapped!

Let me start this out by saying I’m not the hugest mafia/bratva fan but PHEW. This author got me changing my mind. I find something incredibly sexy about a scarred up MC- especially when they have more substance than their character revolving around their scars. The chemistry between Adrik and Annika was off the charts. Annika was beautiful and despite being a princess- she was relatable- who doesn’t feel like an outcast every once in awhile? I love the way their story unfolded and I can’t wait to read the rest in the series. I might just give this genre more of a chance! Check it out my friends- it’s definitely worth a read.

This was a great read. Even though this is the fifth book in this series you don't have to have read the previous books to enjoy this one. I haven't read the previous books in this series but after reading this book I am definitely going to. This story drew me in and kept me captivated throughout. It was so heartbreaking that so many people treated Adrik the way they did because of his looks. This book has danger, romance, suspense, mafia, and great characters. I won't give anything away but I will say this is a must read. I highly recommend this book.

I love this author, for all they create and do, I am never disappointed by this work by any means. This one was powerful, deep and full of emotion! I could not put it down!

A person can truly endure a life time of pain, and suffering, and still be standing even though how hard it is most days. I loved Annika as well. They both had endured a lot and deserved peace. Loved their moments together. Loved the authors writing and how they brought the story to life! Loved it!
