I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

The series ‘The heartbreak brothers’ is one of my favorite series by this author. So when I heard that she would be writing a new series about the children (the next generation) I was happy, curious but also a little nervous. Because would I love this series as much as the one about their parents? And after reading the second book in this new series, I can say ‘YES’. I love this series just as much as the first.

The story ‘That one touch’ is about Presley Hartson (the son of Maggie and Gray) and Cassie Simons.
Three years ago, Presley (or Pres like everyone calls him) lost his wife in a car accident, that day he not only became a widower but also single father of a three year old daughter Delilah. Since then, he has focused his time and attention on his young daughter and his work. Being a single dad is very hard but Pres is lucky to have a large family and parents who support him in every way.

Dance has always been the one constant in Cassie’s life. It was the only time that her mother notices her and was proud of her daughter. Cassie’s dream was to become the best ballerina and everything was going well until a car accident ended that dream. Luckily, she can count on her best friend Gemma to support her in these difficult times. Now Cassie teaches dance to young children in the small town of Hartson at Gemma’s dance school. She loves her new job. But she never expected to fall in love with the father of one of her students.
Their first meeting doesn’t go well but later Cassie and Pres get to know each other better when Cassie joins the band where Pres, his twin brother Marley and their best friend Alex play in. The more time they spend together, the more the chemistry between them grows until that one night where it explodes. Soon, both Pres and Cassie realize that it will be difficult to ignore the chemistry between them, so they decide to give in. Not knowing that once will never be enough. Everything is going well until one phone calls changes everything. Now both Cassie and Pres have a big decision to make. Cassie knows what she wants but Pres is afraid that the past will repeats itself. Can Cassie convince Pres that they belong together?

‘That one touch’ is a wonderful story. It’s told in both POV’s. It was light, funny, emotional and had some sex scenes in it too. I enjoyed every moment!

Both Pres and Cassie had been hurt in the past. Pres felt guilty about the car accident that killed his wife and caused his daughter Delilah to lose her mother at a young age. Like many parents, he doubted his ability to be a good parent. Even though, as a reader, you could really feel the deep love he had for Delilah. He tried so hard to be everything she needed. Since the accident, Pres had built a wall around his heart, he was grumpy, serious and worked hard for a good life for him and his daughter. It was amazing to see him fall for Cassie one smile at a time. Cassie was exactly what he needed. She was patient and funny, she loved to tease Pres and make him smile. It was great to see both Pres and Cassie change in the story, to see them happy with their life and with each other. They were a great couple, I loved them together. Cassie’s mother was a very selfish mother, she let Cassie down in many ways. So it was wonderful to see how Pres’s family and especially his little girl Delilah and his mother Maddie love Cassie so much. The bond between Cassie and Delilah was loving, caring and deep. Delilah was such a sweet and cute child. She made me smile a lot.

The secondary characters in the story were also great. Pres had a great relationship with his twin brother Marley. Marley was a good guy, loyal, funny, easy-going and also a good friend to Cassie. I look forward to his story. Alex was a bit wild, enthusiastic but he had a good heart. Cassie’s friend Gemma was a supportive, caring and great friend.

I look forward to the next story in this series.

Some of this authors books weren’t for me: long separation , extremely sad books, too sweet heroines… but this one is very romantic!
This hero is amazing and perfect, the heroine is smart and independent and they talk like adult people!!!
It’s not a five stars because I wanted more spicyyy, the sex scenes are a little meh or a fade to black and I wanted to read more especially because heroine says that he is a gentleman but a beast in bed!!! 🙈🤣😆

Very romantic
Single dad/ widow- but I didn’t have any problem believing in their love, he is in love with heroine!
Safe book
Funny and cute proposal!

Another great small town romance from Carrie Elks!
I’m not a fan of stories written in third person as I usually find them much harder to read, but Carrie does it so well you just don’t notice.
Really enjoyed this one and the bonus epilogue was fab too!

This book was an easy read. No real drama, no third act breakup.

🎀Small town romance
🎀Single dad
🎀Ballerina
🎀Grumpy/ Sunshine

Cassie is a retired ballerina, after an accident that stopped her from dancing professionally , she moved to a small town and became a dancing teacher at her best friends place. She meets single dad Presley, whose daughter is her student. Presley is a retired singer who gave it all up to look after his daughter Delilah.

This book had an unexpected plot of them auditioning to a record producer and then suddenly she is sent to New York to perform with another band. This was very unexpected and wasn’t the route I thought this book would take.

I am obsessed with the relationship between his daughter and Cassie. It’s so sweet and that little girl knows no boundaries. After the guilt of losing his ex wife, Pres takes a while to fully accept the relationship.

Happy ending.

This was so cute!!! I love a good single dad romance and this one really hit the spot!! And he’s a girls dad! I loved the characters background like the mmcs father!! Such a nice touch. The plot itself was a little bland but still so entertaining, I liked the band trope but it looked a little out place in a small town romance. The musical element was great! They had great chemistry in the stage! It was such a good read! And the mmcs child! So precious!! The ending was so sweet!

2.5/5🌶️

The Heartbreak Brothers' next generation goes beyond my wildest expectations. The first series is one of my favorites, so I did wonder how would the "kids" surpass their parents. But after reading That One Touch, I can wholeheartedly say Carrie Elks outdid herself.

Tattooed and grumpy Presley Hartson is swoony. There is no better word to describe him. He is one of Gray and Maddie's twins. Now, very much grown up, he runs a successful construction business and is a single dad to the adorable six-year-old Delilah. There is nothing he wouldn't do for his daughter, especially since his wife died in a car accident three years ago.

Cassie Simons is the new dance teacher at Hartson Creek. She just moved from NYC, where she used to be a ballerina until an accident shattered her professional dreams. Her first encounter with Presley is a disaster as she scolds him for being the unreliable dad who forgets to pick up his daughter after dance class.

They dislike each other, but the joke is on them. Guess who auditions to join Presley and his brother Marley's band? Yes, Cassie is not only the best keyboard player but the most talented singer to audition. And her chemistry with Presley shines the more they rehearse.

Carrie Elks is a master of crafting the most perfect falling-in-love journey. Cassie and Presley evolve naturally, even amid their unresolved issues. They love passionately and hard, becoming a family in front of everyone's eyes.

Seeing Maddie and Gray as grandparents was a real treat. Maddie is even funnier as an older woman. It feels amazing to be back, and I can't wait to discover the stories of the other Hartson "children."

Carrie Elks never disappoints in writing stories that you cannot put down and That One Touch is no exception.
I Loved reading it and being introduced to Presley and Cassie's romance,it was everything that I enjoy in a really great romance story.
Presley aka Pres is a single father to a delightful 6 year old girl Delilah,he is also a widow after losing his wife in a car accident.
Now he is working hard to make a comfortable life for his daughter she is his world and his number one priority.I loved the relationship Pres has with Delilah you can feel the love and devotion he has for her it shines through the pages.
Pres has a twin brother and he is also in a band with him,his days full his nights lonely but he holds alot of guilt over his wifes death.
Like most parents Pres has doubts in his ability to take care of Delilah,he feels like he is not good enough even though it is so clear he is a wonderful father.
Delilah is a 6 year old ball of energy she is taking dance lessons and this is were Pres meets Cassie her dance teacher. But their initial meeting does not go too well but has time goes on their relationship changes for the better.
Cassie loves to dance and her dream of being a Ballerina was taken away from her when she was badly injured in a car accident.
So now she teaches children to dance and she loves her job and her students, she didn't expect to be totally attracted to the father to one of her students.
Pres is grumpy and serious and the total opposite of her ...Cassie has been through some bad times but she is still like a ray of sunshine...they are perfect together.
There is no doubt that there is something happening between them and as they get to know one another that something gets bigger..and more and more difficult to ignore.
But Pres is being held hostage by his past and even though he is undeniably attracted to Cassie he is reluctant to act on it.
I love grumpy sunshine tropes and this story was exactly that I fell in love with Pres and his daughter even though he is moody and broody you can't help but love him.
Cassie chooses to have a positive attitude instead of feeling sory for herself and the death of her dream Cassie doesn't show how devestated she is over shattered ankle.
There is so much to love in this book and I adore everything about it..
Now I have been reading Carrie's books for a while now and I believe that her writing has just become better and better with time.
Its hard to describe how they just draw you in and I know for a fact I am going to be addicted to this new series.
I relished this book and Loved and enjoyed reading it very much.
EXCELLENT !!

That One Touch by Carrie Elks - The Heartbreak Brothers (Next Generation Book 2)
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Single dad Presley Hartson dedicates his life to his daughter Delilah. Her wellbeing and happiness are all he cares about so between caring for her and working hard at his construction business, Presley doesn’t the time or inclination for relationships.

After an accident ends Cassie Simons dream career, she moves to Hartson’s Creek hoping for a fresh start. Teaching children to dance wasn’t what she ever thought she’d be doing but she is grateful for the distraction whilst she is deciding what she wants to do for the rest of her life.

The pair clash after Presley is late to pick up his daughter one evening and Cassie calls him out for his tardiness. Despite his initial attraction to Delilah’s teacher, Presley resents any criticism of his parenting skills and makes his displeasure clear.

When Cassie decides to audition for a local band she has no idea that her pupil’s handsome but grumpy father will be there, but as they start rehearsals sparks start to fly and they soon realise they can’t ignore their mutual attraction.

When Cassie is offered the opportunity of a lifetime their lives are turned upside down. Struggling with their personal issues the pair try to find a way forward. Should she grab her chance in the limelight and risk losing Presley and her new life? Can Presley overcome his guilty past and set her free? Nothing is ever easy when love’s on the line…..

This book, THIS BOOK! At this point I have to point out that I have read the original Heartbreak series which do introduce you to some of the characters in this book, however this book can be read as a stand alone. You don’t need to have read any of the other books in the series to thoroughly understand and enjoy this story, but in all honesty I HIGHLY recommend reading them all!

Ms Elks has the ability to write stories that draw you in, making you emotionally invest in her characters and cheer them along. As a single parent myself I felt she really expressed Presleys emotions, concerns and worries very knowledgeably without making him overly sweet. The book had just the right mix of angst, romance, backstory and sexy times. She writes believable scenarios, allowing her characters to tell their stories without bias, letting the reader work through their own feelings. Her characters have flaws, like real life, they’re not perfect.

Reading one of Ms Elks books is akin to wrapping yourself up in a fluffy blanket and snuggling up in front of the fire with a warm mug of hot chocolate. You never want it to end.
I highly recommend this book.

Opening Oneself to Love
Presley Hartson feels like he is being pulled in seven different ways. Working from dusk til dawn and trying to be the best dad for his six year old daughter, Delilah. His whole family tries to make up for what Delilah is missing after her mother passed three years ago. They have formed a protective knot around him and Delilah. He is grateful to be close to his parents except when his mom is in the mood to nag at him about needing a social life, or playing in the band he used to run with his brother, or maybe even meeting somebody new. He has no time for any of that. Cassie Simons moves from New York to Hartson’s Creek to help her friend out by teaching at the Forsythe Dance Studio while she decides what she wants to do with the rest of her life. She cannot dance professionally anymore and teaching is the best she can manage. Cassie gives Presley a piece of her mind when he is late picking up Delilah from dance. She steps over the line that he has drawn around himself and Delilah, to keep them safe and unhurt. He does not let anybody that he does not trust penetrate it. This woman is making him feel a tingle of electricity. Like his muscles are waking up from a deep sleep. He would be enjoying this if she was not making him so mad. Cassie does not need to be mooning after a widowed man. Her life is complicated enough, thank you very much. This is a gripping small town contemporary single dad romance. The chemistry is steamy, the emotion is heartwarming and the family dynamics had me wanting to become part of the Hartson family. Delilah is such a cute vibrant six year old that I could not help but fall for her too. Another perfect read by Carrie Elks.
I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

Such a beautiful story about two people experiencing grief in different ways but healing together.
It’s a single widowed father and the new dance teacher romance. They just fit together and you can’t help falling in love with them and his daughter along the way.

It’s a very emotional, heartwarming, found family story in the heart of Hartson Creek where we follow Grey and Maggie’s son Presley after losing his wife three years prier.
He is a single father to a six year old girl named Delilah and he owns a business where he fixes up old houses. He also formerly played in a band with his twin brother Marley and two other members but quit when he became a single father.

Cassie Simmons is a former ballet dancer who was hurt in a car accident and lost her dream of being a ballet dancer.
She gets a job in Hartson Creek as a dance teacher and meets Delilah and Presley when he is late picking Delilah up from dance class.
I love this meet cute so much and I love that Delilah is such an intricate part in them getting together.

At the same time Marley wants to start up the band again but he needs Presley on board and they need a keyboard player and co-singer with Presley and the search begins.

I love that we are back in Hartson Creek and meeting the second generation of the Hartson family but also the Heartbreak brothers and their sister and all of their significant others. We also get the return of Chairs the Friday where the whole town meets to talk and gossip.

I can’t wait to see who Marley ends up with in the next book in this series because he was very secretive about his phone calls and other stuff;).

I can definitely recommend this book.

I got this book from Carrie Elks and this is my honest opinion and my voluntary review.

That one touch is the second generation book in the Hartson family series ~ Another heartwarming, griping love story from the incredible Carrie Elks, this has all Carries signature tropes. Small town with close family that love each other fiercely.

Presley Hartson is a grumpy, hot, tattooed single dad trying to navigate life after the death of his wife Jade. He works hard at his construction business, juggling life whilst trying to provide for his sassy, yet adorable cute 6 year old daughter Delilah.
She’s his main focus, he has no time for a love life. He’s surrounded by his supportive family

Delilah is a bubbly six year old who has fallen in love with dance & her dance teacher Cassie.

Cassie has recently moved to town from New York after a tragic accident ends her chances of fulfilling her dream as a ballet dancer.
She adores dancing, so when the opportunity comes to help her friend run her dance school she jumps at the chance, she settles in quickly. She’s sweet., kind & a natural, the kids love her.

Sparks fly when Presley is late picking up Delilah neither one can deny the instant attraction between them. Presley is full of self doubt & insecurities. He tries to resist but couldn’t stop himself anymore, he was starving for her. The chemistry & raw attraction between them was too strong to deny any longer.

This book did not disappoint. Presley is the epitome of the perfect book boyfriend to love & did I love him!! Plus I love a single dad romance so needless to say I loved every second of this book and I can't wait for more from this next generation series.

This next-gen series is an incredible extension of what Carrie Elks can do with her creativity to build a family full of depth, romance, and surprises that thrill your romance-loving heart! She doesn’t make it easy for Presley and Cassie to find their HEA, but it’s worth every moment of angst to wait for it.

Pres is a widower who is raising a spirited daughter all on his own. I love how he really has to work through a lot of emotions, acceptance, and letting go in regard to his wife’s passing. He had been using his grumpy side to push people away and prevent them from diving deeper than the surface level hurt. My heart ached for everything he’d been through and the aches and pains of raising Delilah without a mother.

Cassie has her own personal demons to process, especially in regard to the end of her dancing career and the relationship with her mother. But alongside her friend, Gemma, she finds a love for teaching little ones how to dance. And once she meets Delilah, it doesn’t take long for her to fall for the girl and her daddy. Not only can she teach dance, but she also aids in helping bring Pres’ relationships with his bandmates closer together.

The build up between these two will leave you breathless and then once they give in to that one touch, it’s an inferno, spiking your heartbeat and blushes to the max! Their relationship isn’t easy and that is exactly what I love about it. Along with all of the side characters, I felt this was such an encompassing book in the best of ways.

The single dad & the dancer: good stuff💓

That One Touch had a really potent mix of cozy togetherness and all-out passion that kept me loving it beginning to finish.

I love a single dad romance, especially when his child is as lively and darling as this one. Delilah is a happy six year old and her dance lessons and hero worship of her dance teacher Cassie make her a central figure in the romance since widowed dad Presley finds Cassie every bit as appealing. Presley is a model dad who deals with his lack luster hair braiding skills and keeping his daughter the central priority while adjusting to the idea of bringing a new woman into their lives.

The romance has a good share of steamy encounters that are well balanced with the good times with Presley's family, Cassie's employer/friend, and the couple's involvement in a band that has the potential to take off. Hartson's Creek, West Virginia (the fictional setting for most of the action) is the quintessential small town where you can't hide or keep secrets but the folks are friendly. It's been the location for a number of the author's romances and I love the atmosphere she invokes. It seemed an excellent spot for Cassie with her crushed dreams of dancing on the stage in NYC to recalibrate her life.

Recommended if you like warm and cozy alternating with heat.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

As always with a story from Carrie, I just couldn't put this down. I absolutely love the second generation of Heartbreak brothers, as much as the first and that is no mean feat !
Presley - moody, grumpy workaholic, but a ray of sunshine when he sees his daughter Delilah. Doing his best to bring her up as a single parent after losing his wife in a tragic accident, there's nothing he wouldn't do for her. Unfortunately, working hard to provide for her led him to being late to pick her up from dance class, earning him the wrath of her dance tutor Cassie !
Cassie, new to the area and not aware of his history, tears him a new one for upsetting his daughter, and there starts a push/pull attraction that he keeps trying to ignore.
Cassie inadvertently gets thrown right into the centre of his attention when she auditions for the band that Presley and his twin brother are in. Presley storms out, but Cassie is far too talented for his pride to win and slowly we see their attraction building.
The best parts of this story are the love they both have for Delilah.. the absolute love of a father who would never do anything to compromise his child, but also the love that develops between Cassie and Delilah. I just loved this little girl and her gorgeousness and also sassiness at times !
Seeing Maddie and Gray again in this story, along with other members of the family is a bonus.. I love Carrie Elks' small town romance series for this very reason !

That one Touch.

Three words that hold amazing power if the couple that touch have blazing chemistry, and Cassie and Presley definitely had that.
The first meeting was explosive as they both vented their anger.
Cassie is a retired professional ballet dancer, her career ended from a tragic accident. She now teaches ballet at her friend’s ballet school and Presley’s daughter is a student.
It doesn’t take much to know they wanted each other, but Presley fought it due to guilt of his widow who died.
After Cassie joins his band they get closer and finally stop fighting the attraction and get together.
Presley comes over as a grumpy single dad to an adorable inquisitive daughter, she is his world and tries to braid her hair on request even tho it never ends up a success.
I’m loving the new generation of the Hartson family.
Marley is Preston’s twin and happy go lucky antics complement his twins darkness after his loss, his humour is refreshing and kept the dynamics fresh when Preston lost his spark I think Marley kept it lit for him until Cassie came along.
I loved the humour and family dynamics.
Looking forward to his brother’s Marley & Hendrix stories.

For the Love of Music -
The first time Cassie met Presley didn’t go smoothly, but she felt an intense attraction towards him, that she tried keeping to herself. Even though Presley was attracted to Cassie from the moment he laid eyes on her, he was still dealing with issues from his past, that were still plaguing him. Spending time together in the band allowed them to get to know each other better whilst their attraction grew, but they tried to keep it a secret.

Unfortunately, their budding relationship was tested when they had to make a difficult decision that affected their lives, but the baggage from Presley’s past got in the way. As luck would have it, Presley’s family gave him the push he needed to let go of the past and grab onto a future with Cassie, so they could get a chance at the happily ever after they deserved. I had a really awesome experience reading this wonderful story, that had engaging characters and a fantastic plot. I am happy to recommend this book, as I found myself totally engrossed from the beginning until the end.

The story of Pres and Cassie is amazing

Pres is a single hot dad, looking after his daughter Delilah, and running his construction business. He has his family's help and support, and the sense of community around him really comes across. Pres is the local hearthrob since high school!
Cassie is looking for a new start and moves to town as the dance teacher. Her meet cute with Pres is so funny! She finishes teaching the class Delilah is in, and disheartened Delilah breaks her heart, protective Cassie is ready to give the parents a piece if her mind. Pres who dotes of Delilah was accidentally held up at work (unknown to Cassie), so when he arrives, she lets him know exactly what she thinks.

A few other adventures, and sparks start to fly over a few band practices. But their pasts are catching up to them, in an interesting way. Its almost like they have to do what they wished they had done before they met, to see if they have a chance! You literally are screaming at the book saying noo!!!

The scene in the hotel lobby had me cry smiling at 2am, so if you love single dad romances this book is for you!

I’d spontaneously combust if I walk into a church after the things you did to me last night 😈

Book 2 of the Heartbreak Brothers series is finally here and Presley did not disappoint! His grumpy dad to Cassie’s sunshine ballet teacher was such a fun mix, plus their amazing chemisty made me love this book!

Presley and Cassie don’t get off on the best foot when he happens to be late picking up his daughter from ballet class….and Cassie might have let him know exactly how she felt about it. But when she finds out the circumstances to his life she regrets some of the things she said and so when she shows up unknowingly to auditon for his band things couldn’t be more awkward. Now Presley’s unsure he knows what to do with the hot teacher that can sing like an angel but staying away from her is not one of them.

These two had so much pent up tension between them the pages were burning! And as much as Iove that, I loved the way Cassie’s relationship developed with both Presley and his daughter Delilah. The found family between the three of them was so cute and it’s about time Presley put himself first.

‘That One Touch’ was a great read that I enjoyed right from the start. One of my favorite things to read about are the grump vs sunshine tropes, and this was definitely the case in this book. And I loved them. Presley is a huge grump, and Cassie is always trying to keep things positive. From the moment Presley and Cassie meet, their interactions are a lot of fun. And I especially loved how Cassie was slowly breaking down Presley’s walls.

The romance and banter between Presley and Cassie was wonderful. I loved getting to know them and reading their story. There was plenty of steam, and a lot of swoon worthy moments. One of my favorite things about this book where the moments between Presley and his little girl. It was just so fun to read about those two.

The next best thing was being back in Hartson’s Creek, and reading about some of the other characters we got to know in this series. And yes, this book can easily be read as a standalone. But the fact that I know all these characters makes it feel extra cozy.

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a complimentary copy. Cassie Simons was a ballerina who lost her career after a car accident. Cassie moved to Hartson Creek to teach dance at her friend, Gemma's ballet school. She has a little girl in her class Delilah that was waiting for her dad Presley to pick her up and he was very late. Cassie and Presley's first meeting did not go so well and Pres ended up apologizing the next day. Pres is a widow who owns a construction company

Cassie ends up going to an audition for a band when she finds out Pres is in the band with his twin brother and friend, she ends up joining the band. As Pres and Cassie spend more time together they grow closer and their attraction grows hotter. Pres is hesitant at first because of his past with Delilah's Mom. They start dating but an opportunity causes a wrinkle in their relationship. Will Pres let Cassie go or will he fight for her?

My absolute favorite part of the book is towards the end with the secret.

So romantic!! I loved this couple OMG!!

This book is part of the second gen for the Hartson family series. Presley is a single dad trying to navigate life after losing his wife Jade. He works hard trying to run his business while trying to juggle being a father to an absolutely adorable 6 year old little girl.

His daughter Delilah, takes dance classes, something she is obsessed with....along with her dance teacher Cassie.

Cassie moved from the big city after something devastating happens, ending her dance career. She moved so that she could keep being in the dance world when her friend offered her an opportunity she couldnt turn down.

Presley is late picking up Delilah one day, leading to an instant attraction both parties cant help but feel. Their chemistry is so palpable, you can just feel it. Especially once Presley gives in, he is full of insecurities and self doubt, understandably, but he gives in and he really becomes such a great partner!

SOOO excited for the rest of this series!! YAY

This is so good, I read it all in one go. Presley is the broody grumpy single dad (son of Maddie and Gray from previous series). He’s adorable with his daughter and doesn’t feel he’s good enough. Cassie is the dance teacher who moves to town, rips him apart for being late and then falls for him. This is such a great story, small town romance, lots of characters from previous books. Delilah is just a hoot, especially with Lola.
I love how well rounded the story is, it’s like a film with all the detail on the pages. So much back story, fun, witty, interesting. And let me tell you these two can burn up the pages when they want to, they are sizzling.
Another great addition to the library, and best news, there are lots of other second generation Hartsons still to get their own story.
Lose yourself in the genius that is Carrie Elks, this book is definitely one to read again many times. Loved it!

I love Hartson’s Creek so much, and I adore that we get to come back and see all the children, now grown up, finding their Forevers. And much like his father, Presley reached out and stole my heart. He’s carrying around a lot of emotional baggage, and some of it really isn’t his to own. It hurt my heart to see the heavy burden he carried. Cassie, kind of didn’t start this book off on the right foot. It wasn’t a meet-cute, it was more of a meet-terrible. But it didn’t take long before we learned what prompted that reaction and it all started making sense. These two were everything together; sweet, hot, steamy, adorable, fun, and funny. Throw in precocious imp, Delilah, and it was a recipe for pure delight. The epilogue made me “squee” over the sweetness while I was doubled over with laughter. I can’t wait until our next chance to come back and witness another Hartson in action.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.

sweet

Pres is just trying to live a quiet life with his daughter. He’s so busy with his daughter Delilah and work he doesn’t think he has time for anything else.

Cassie comes to town to work for her friend after her dance career comes to an unexpected end. She is just trying to adjust to her new reality and settle in to her new life.

Enter the adorable whirlwind that is Delilah and old ghosts cause a misunderstanding between Pres and Cassie.

They soon realise they had the wrong first impression of each other and their attraction is sizzling which only grows when they end up in the same band.

I loved how they just seemed to fit so well together and slowly became a beautiful family.

There is friction between them when Cassie needs to make a career decision, but not the way you would expect.

It was nice to see them both move on from their pasts. They both had issues which made them second guess themselves at times.

This was sweet with a nice little bit of heat and left me feeling warm and cosy.

The Hartson family of Hartson's Creek are memorable characters from past books and this book is the second book in the new series about one of the next generation Hartsons. That One Touch is Presley and Cassie's story and so engaging that I couldn't put it down. Presley is a single dad, a widower, burdened by undeserved guilt. Cassie is a former ballerina, whose career ended abruptly on a rainy night. Now settled in Hartson's Creek and teaching dance, Presley and Cassie clash at their first meeting when he is late picking up his young daughter from class - but there are sparks, and fate keeps throwing them together until they can no longer deny the magnetic chemistry between them.

There are lots of feels in this emotional romance and every one of them touched my heart. The wonderful characters make this story come alive. I loved Cassie and Presley but I have to say, the real scene stealer here, was six year old Delilah. I really enjoyed this sweet, sexy, romantic love story.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

4⭐️ - small tow single dad romance with and adorable little girl Delilah, and her dance teacher Cassie falling in love with her dad Presley.

After over three years since his wife’s death, Pres finally feels like he is coming alive again. When his twin brother requests they start up their band again, he finally agrees. The only thing they’re missing is a keyboardist. During open auditions, who should turn up but his daughters dance teacher.

Being new to town, Cassie is looking for more ways to make friends and get involved in the town, which means auditioning for a local band. What she didn’t anticipate is that band including local grump, Pres. despite his attitude, something about him draws her in, seeing this man love his daughter so fiercely definitely helps. They try to push off their feelings for the sake of the band, but some things are inevitable.

So good, so cute, loved this one and was glad with the ending.

Overall: 4

First my usual points:

- I do not do spoilers unless warned.
- If you’re looking at books, I assume you can read - read the summary above; it will tell you what the book is about. I will not reiterate.

Book:

POV/narrative: 3rd person
SA/ cliffhanger: standalone (2nd in a series of 2nd generation)

Ingredients:

writing quality: 5
ease of reading: 5
plot: 5
steam: 4

Notes / opinion:

Cassie and Presley’s story flowed wonderfully. Low drama once Preslsey got over his drama. The addition of Delilah just added charm and cut the tension when needed.

I recommend this series as well as this installment.

Things I liked:

• Grumpy/optimistic
• Family
• Small town
• Construction owner H / ballet teacher h
• Visiting with prior book characters
• That COVER! In an age of illustrated cartoon covers or object covers, I’m all for the ‘actual people’ covers.

Light reading with a little drama
I'm a fan of Ms. Elks writing and will continue to read whatever she writes while she keeps churning out delightful stories like this one. Presley and Cassie are likeable, engaging characters, the witty banter and flirty one liners are great to read. Both had hurdles in their lives to overcome, Presley losing his wife and young daughter Delilah's mother to a car accident, had him prioritising her over his life; Cassie losing her dream, dancing in the New York ballet company, also as a result of a car accident, led her to the small town of Hartson's Creek and the job of dance teacher. Their initial meeting didn't get them off to a good start, but Cassie joining the band Pres and his twin played in, had them constantly in each other's orbits. The chemistry was undeniable, the steamy scenes hot, we get some emotional moments but plenty that will have you chuckling. I enjoyed this a lot and look forward to reading more about the Hartson brothers.
