Digger really likes to dig! He finds all sorts on his digging adventure. Not complicated by a wordy, extensive story; instead the vivid illustrations tell the tale. A beautiful, simple tale for young readers who love adventure.

Imagination abounds! Follow one dog’s journey to (what looks like) the Great Artesian Basin. Simple language is used with detailed illustrations, which you can use as prompts for your toddler’s language acquisition practise. Cute and entertaining book.

Digger is a scruffy dog who loves to dig and one day, when bored at home alone, he digs all the way down to the depths of the earth, until he hits water. Along the way down he discovers wonderful hidden in the soil including a teapot, a horseshoe, a dinosaur skeleton and … is that a cat?
A funny and light hearted story is taken to new heights with Junie Melissa Bolliger’s memorable images of Digger; upside down with his back legs in the air; full of joyful abandon going down the giant hole; and raising one floppy flying ear when he hears the call to return. The vibrant colour palette presents create a joyful and exuberant atmosphere and perfectly capture the antics of this energetic and inquisitive pup. The colours also provide a strong contrast for the minimal text which is strategically placed on each page in white font. Sometimes you have to turn the book sideways which show just how deep Digger has dug!
