If you happen to wake up in the middle of the night, don’t pick up this book or you won’t be going back to sleep… guess that also means you shouldn’t pick it up at bedtime. 😁
As an avid Kimberly Rae Jordan fan, who has read all of her books, there was just something about this book… I didn’t want to put it down. (I had to at one point because it was time to go to work, but I picked it back up after work and didn’t put it down until I finished it.)
There were some parts of Zane that just weren’t all that lovable and yet I couldn’t wait to see how it all played out…. And maybe that’s the point. None of us are lovable all of the time by human standards.. and yet, that doesn’t make us unloved by God, without use for Him, or past the point of redemption. It really is just about us yielding ourselves to Him and His purposes and seeing what a beautiful tapestry He can weave our lives into.
I'm always happy to have a new Kimberly Rae Jordan book show up on my Kindle. I was a bit amused to find that she has joined the ranks of authors I enjoy who has decided to try an amnesia story. Zane has a few different plot twists from other amnesia books I've read recently, and it's very well done. It's slow paced like most of Jordan's books, but she is excellent in examining what true love looks like and how it is lived out in difficult circumstances. It really helps to read the books in this series in order, although you could read this one by itself if necessary, as characters from earlier books are more minor characters in this book than in some others. I hate to see the series getting close to the end, but am thankful Jordan has new series in the works already.
This story of Zane, written by Kimberly Rae Jordan, was truly amazing and completely well-written! Zane Halverson and his new wife were just beginning on their life-long journey together. In the blink of an eye, their lives were turned upside down, with a few emotional twists thrown in after life's pathways turned into uncharted territory. With each situation that arose, it became evident that hope needed a clearer pathway. Love needed a certainty. Forgiveness and letting go of yesterday needed to be strengthened. Together, Zane and Kelsey began to rebuild their lives. Each and every day, when God's love was invited in, change occurred. I absolutely loved this book!! Kimberly Rae Jordan is an amazing storyteller. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars.
Repetitious. Too much rehashing of Zane and Kelsey’s feelings, so story dragged and was too long. Had to skip past a lot of that. Also, Zane’s parents’ attitude and actions seemed totally out of character with the way they were portrayed in previous volumes in this series. And then the parents seemed to drop out of the story altogether. Way too little character development in a book this long (almost 400 pages) about a family that is supposed to be so close-knit.
Kimberly continues to amaze me with how fresh and new all the stories of this series are. I legit had tears for about 70% of the book, I could feel the emotions of Kelsey like if I was living it myself. At times I didn’t like Zane but kept thinking how rough it must be in his situation as well. I have loved all the stories but this one was my favourite yet!
What a very excellent book! So beautiful and Romantic then crash and love has to be found and rebuilt better than ever. Very hard journey. Plus, they seek God and of course He is there to be found. Kimberley is a famous story teller & WOW she excels in this fantastic romance.
I knew this book would be good. But I never expected the encouragement and inspiring story I would read. Facing the trials Zane and Kelsey faced was heartwarming. Wow, I can't say enough about this book. Looking forward to the next book. Thanks Kimberly for exciting reading for me.
I'm glad that Kimberly Rae Jordan said that there were points in the story where she didn't like Zane. There were points in which I didn't like him either. The story revealed, however that there were times during their marriages before the accident in which Zane wasn't being completely truthful.
This Halverson story was a little difficult to read. Zane isn’t all that likable, but Ms. Jordan even says that at the end. I had to stop and think about his situation to understand some of why he seemed unkind. Really felt sorry for Kelsey, and her insecurity. Loved that she still made a commitment to hang in there and to continue her desire for a new career.
There wasn't anything to not like. Your heart hurt for both of them. Then you are elated that God changed him and saved her and let them come together in love for Him and each other .
I am a fan of KRJ and have read every one of her books. This one surprised me in the best way. I couldn't wait to find out how it ended but couldn't rush it either. So much depth and grace and redemption. You wouldn't want to miss Zane and Kelsey 's story.
I have read many of Ms. Jordan's books and enjoyed them all. However, this book about Zane and Kelsey is my favorite. The depth of feelings and joy of renewed love is extremely well-written and felt by this reader. Well done!
So full of love and commitment and most of all faith. There were times when I didn’t like Zane as much either, but could only imagine what he was going through. Not something I would want to experience.
There was so much depth to the characters in this book. I wanted to cry with Kelsey as she struggled to hold on to the life she had with Zane after everything was turned upside down. This was a very worthwhile read.
3.75 stars. A well-written story by Kimberly Rae Jordan! The ending felt like it wrapped up a bit quick, and I wanted to talk some sense into both main characters a couple time, but still a heartwarming story filled with family and love.
I've read all of the pre Brooks in this series and it was great to see how the families were growing and more babies born. This story had a lot of questions and downs. However God was in the middle of it ALL!
As I think back over all of the books that I have read in the Halverson series to this point. I can only say that they just keep getting better and better.
As always Kimberly Rae Jordan didn't disappoint! Probably one of my favorites so far in this wonderful series. Thank you for reminding us to "Forever Rely On God" 💗💗
This is the last book i read. I thought it’s not good since zane less mentioned on other books. But oh no! This book made me cry. 😭😭I felt the pain on the story. Looking forward reading more of your books. 📚
I love Kimberly's books, I've read them all. This is my favorite. It shows how , with God's help you can overcome anything. Don't miss this wonderful read.
What an amazing book. This was a real tearjerker but super good. I didn't want the book to end. It just shows why Kimberly is one of my favourite authors. Keep writing.
Zane was in an accident and had no memory of his beautiful hardworking wife, Kelsey. The hard part for Kelsey was her life with Zane without his memory. Read now
Kimberly is just on another level! Thanks Kimberly, for writing gospel directed stories with believable characters & plenty of beauty & ache along the way!
