It felt more like a marketing book about Bark and a autobiography from the author than a real book... I don't know, it was disappointing to me

Wow! This is an incredible, must-have parenting book. Don’t be fooled by the title—this is not about controlling your kids. Instead, Parental Control is a realistic and authentic look at what it means to raise children in today’s digital age.

Titania Jordan pours her heart and soul into these pages, blending nostalgia for simpler times with the reality of where we are now. She doesn’t preach perfection—she guides parents toward balance, common sense, and connection. This book is filled with practical insights that help caregivers navigate technology while protecting their children’s well-being.

As a body safety advocate, author, and educator, I’ve had the honor of hearing Titania speak at conferences and have learned so much from her expertise. She brings the same warmth, wisdom, and urgency into this book. Parents everywhere will recognize themselves in her stories and walk away with real tools for making safer, healthier choices in a world where online risks grow every day.

If you are a parent, teacher, or caregiver, Parental Control deserves a place on your shelf. It is not just a guide—it is a lifeline for families striving to raise kids who are both safe and empowered in our digital world

The digital expertise that I have learned from many online safety experts causes me to update my children’s book to include online safety scenarios and resources.

Thank you Titania for this critical resource!

Best for someone just thinking about technology’s influence on humanity’s well being. Narrative is chatty and not academic although sources are listed at the end of each chapter.

Chapters 5-7 were the most helpful.

It mostly felt like proselytizing and a recounting of her own mental health struggles, as well as fear mongering about stuff that I’m already afraid of. I wish there had been more tangible ways that I could help my kids with technology.
