I am an absolute sucker for a Christmas romcom, and this ticks absolutely all my boxes!
Firstly, how cute is that cover art? This would definitely demand my attention on a bookshelf, and it just completely embodies this story!
Panto season - the peak for us Brits at Christmas - though I have to disagree with the information at the start saying it's only a Christmastime treat, we have an Easter and summer panto up here too! My teenager always loves them breaking character and the dames making rude jokes - so he would love to go to the Foxbrooke panto!
I adore all of the Foxbrooke family. They are bally brilliant - to pinch a phrase from Arthur. The way they rally round each other and those they love is so special. It's truly a family to be proud to be part of, and in reading this series, I feel a small part of it.
There are so many absolutely outrageous laugh-out-loud moments in this, mostly at Arthur's expense, but I also particularly enjoyed Dervlas rendition of the Bonnie Tyler classic!
There's also hard-hitting themes, Evie never shies away from rough topics. Included here is cheating, mental health, crime, drugs, emotional manipulation, and abuse. I loved how sweetly Ella was able to overcome her struggles with the love and support of her found family.
It, of course, would not be a book of Evie's without a hefty dose of spice! Seeing Leo's sweetness during these scenes made them so much hotter.
This is an absolutely beautiful, friends to lovers tale, featuring the fexiest, most fantastic, fandsome-est Foxbrooke (yet).
I read this in a couple of sittings over the course of one day. I absolutely could not put it down.
There's a beautiful epilogue which I loved, it just so perfectly drew the curtains on their sweet story.
With another few siblings to go, I can't wait to read on in this series.
