Would you choose to know the truth if it might tear your world apart?
Carrie O‘Rourke may have let herself go a little in the last twenty years, but that’s no reason for her husband Steven to start another life with a younger woman behind her back, is it? Yet that’s exactly what he’s done. And he’s even managed to make her look like the bad guy. Er, girl.
Struggling to cope, Carrie turns to her best friend Anna. But Anna’s in a predicament herself, man-wise, and things are rather more tangled than she’d like. Why do men need to make things so complicated?
Feeling like the last stale biscuit on the plate, Carrie’s beginning to think maybe ignorance really is bliss. After all, look where “the truth” has landed single over forty with an empty nest, and forced to play nice with Trish, Steven’s new lover.
When their worlds collide, will the real truth ruin everything... or finally set them free?
An intriguing story of the ups and downs of midlife friendship and how life is never as it seems on the surface. I found myself drawn to each of the women in the story and could find similarities in all of them as they struggled through their situations and life altering experiences. Great character builds and the story had me hooked from the first chapter. Can’t wait to read more from this author!
