*A Wife for the Highland Wolf is a steamy Scottish historical romance novel of 60,000 words (around 300 pages) written by Eloise Madigan and published by Cobalt Fairy.
No cheating, no cliffhangers, lots of steam and a happy ending.
Very good ending for the series. The storyline and the characters all intertwined through out there series. I enjoyed greatly. I will be going to another series.
Lydia is the youngest and only unmarried one of the four lasses of Clan Clyde. A prolific reader of romance books, she dreamed of marrying for love and having a marriage like any one of her sisters. Imagine her surprise when Murdoch Nairn, Laird of Clan Lochlann, showed up demanding that a betrothal agreement signed by the former Lairds of Clan Clyde and Clan Lochlann, be honored. The Council of Clan Lochlann had been pressuring Murdoch to remarry after the death of his wife. Although he had a son from that union, they threatened to replace him as Laird unless he married and produced a second heir. Since it was rumored that he had killed his previous wife, no lady wanted to wed him. At the behest of the Council, an old betrothal agreement was uncovered, and Murdoch set off to collect Nora, his bride-to-be. When he discovered that she was already married, he insisted that Lydia come to Lochlann Castle to get to know his clan and him better, and they would marry in one month’s time. Upon arrival, Lydia became fast friends with Murdoch’s cousin Wilma, and fell in love with Finn, Murdoch’s toddler son. Although there was significant chemistry between them, Lydia’s desire to know more about his past led to squabbles and disappointment. Then danger and betrayal set them on a new course. This is a fitting finale to this series. Each sister has a minor role to play, and the unique way in which they met their husbands is recapped. You will find seductive whispers and steamy kisses, along with hot tempers and vicious rumors. Although this tale follows a familiar pattern, the dialogue is crisp, the characters are believable, and the story is engaging and emotionally satisfying.
I loved this book. Murdoch, laird of clan Lochlann is plagued by rumors that he killed his first wife. That has made it all but impossible to find another wife to help raise his son. But his council is pushing him to wed or be removed as laird. When an old betrothal contract to a daughter of clan Clyde surfaces, he has his chance for a bride. Unfortunately, the lass he was betrothed to is already wed and he demands to wed Lydia, the only unwed daughter. Lydia, like her older sisters, can be stubborn and she has something to prove. She agrees to the betrothal on her terms. But there are hidden sinister forces at play bent on ending any hope Murdoch has for a future. I loved the characters new and old, the storyline, the struggles, and the passion.
I can’t get enough of this author. I found this book to be extremely heartfelt. I was rooting for both Murdoch and Lydia. There’s always a rotten Frumper in the bunch that thinks THEY should be in charge. Boo Hoo. Life’s not all about you. Sometimes I want to punch the antagonist myself. I enjoyed the storyline of this book as well as the entire series. I immerse myself in the story and often feel like I know each person. It makes me want to go back to Scotland even more. I’m looking forward to reading the next series so I can take a staycation without leaving my chair! Start reading. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Amy and Laird Murdoch had me glued to the pages of this thrilling story. When he is accused of murdering his first wife, he has a hard time finding another. When he learns about an old contract between rivaled clans, he goes to secure his bride only to find that she is already married which leaves the youngest sister. Tis starts Murdoch and Amy's path one that is filled with intriguing twists and turns that had me connecting with these two. Will their union lead them along the path to a happily ever after. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
I really like how reasonable they are with each other & how Murdoch valued her for being strong & standing up to him while also was so kind with finn & how Lydia could see how honorable Murdoch is & it was nice to see more of her sisters & I enjoyed the closeness Murdoch & Lydia had from the beginning & the way they both made an effort with one another. I do wish chapter 27 & 28 had been switched & they had been a little more at the end. But it's was a cute story & enjoyable
Murdoch was having trouble with his Council members about not having a wife or more heirs when he finds out there was already a marriage contract. He goes to Clan Clyde to claim his betrothed and finds that she is already married with a bairn. So only sister left is the youngest Lydia whom he claims. There is a lot of things that happen with the couple and the Clan before this story ends.
Eloise does it again writing magic. Lasses of Clan Clyde still comes together as sisters should. With being the youngest and makes the decision to agree to up hold a contract that her dead cousin had issued. Now Laird Murdoch finding the contract was for marriage to Lydia's sister Nora who is already married he will take Lydia or will fight Clan Clyde. Now let the adventure begin buy the book
Loved this book! Full of strong female characters and equally as strong Scottish Lairds! Thrown into an unexpected betrothal Lydia fights for her rights and for love! Laird Murdock is plagued with the tragic death of his first wife and the nasty rumors that he murdered her. What will happen to these two strong willed people as they are thrown together!! Great story!
The family of sisters & their husbands are a scream! Murdoch & Finn are a fun challenge to know. Lydia is certainly the baby of the family of sisters. Murdoch has a lot to put up with. She was not my favorite but fit the part! I’m 1st born so not tolerant of spoiled….. Enjoy spending time with this family!
What I liked was the Liars always getting in trouble by being so small minded when it came to talking with his wife to be. It was cute how his cousin kept him in line. When they decided to marry everyone was there. All the town people and all the clans near and far. A good book enjoy.
The story of the last Knox sister, will have you turning pages. Follow Lydia on a adventure that will have you shaking your head and unable to put the book down. Eloise Madigan delivers another heart felt story. Don't miss out.
I have loved each and every book of this series! This one is no different. It intwines the characters from earlier books into its story and continues on in their story. Each unique in its own way, entertaining and intriguing.
The series the lasses of Clan Clyde has been most enjoyable. Starting with their escape from their brutal cousin,to each of their lives leading to their marriages. All the sisters are very different individuals, but each is hrave and independent.
An enjoyable quick read about a gorgeous, brooding Highlander and a spicy, strong willed youngest daughter. Love the cover of this one! It should pull you in all by itself. 😍
A forceful contract of marriage, a reluctant groom, a bride who wanted a marriage for trust and love, a sinister plot against the Laird. Mischief and mayhem, murder, attempted murder, then through it all was a happily ever after.
My least favorite in the series …. Lydia’s character was awful… I know she was young, but good lord what a bloody immature pain in the arse she was the whole book…. Murdoch should have taken back, he and Finn would have been better off…
Really enjoyed this last book in the series book, Lydia and Murdoch are a match through and through, they will keep you going with emotions up and down. A must read series very strong lasses .
A challenging story of two stubborn people who turn out perfect for each other. He is wrongly blamed and then betrayed. She gives up but he does not. Curious? A good read.
Very entertaining romance with exciting and amazing characters, full of excitement and an amazing storyline, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this romantic story.
From the very start this book had me wanting to finish it. The characters were well written And you H4The plot was 1 that is about like life in general. Wanting for more power and more prestige. Sometimes the things we think might be bad are actually better for us and this proves with this case of atrocol that was years later fulfilled.
Another very good read in the lives of these Knox sisters of C!an Clyde and the strong alpha Highland Lairds who capture their hearts. So again Well Done Author.
Great book. Wonderful story. Fun read. Enjoyed this book and the story. Definitely reading more books from this author. Characters were interesting also.
Good stories with well planned and executed storylines! The dialogue is smooth and controlled. The characters are crafted thoughtfully and are extremely engaging!
I loved this story. It has some very interesting comments on how it was back in the days of Clans, Laird and how they kept peace among the different Clans.
