That Summertime Feeling

Rate this book

“I found my person - and I wouldn’t change a thing”

I was so so lucky to be able to receive this arc of Victorias book and let me tell you I enjoyed and LOVED every single second of it!!!

OUT 29TH AUGUST so go pre-order!!!🏃🏼‍♀️

It’s a summer camp, young adult romance book filling with funny bits, romance, flirty, with other deeper themes.

Cassie goes away to a summer camp to get time away from her parents who are having trouble with their marriage. Cassie makes friends with Emma and finds herself fancying Dean. All is well until Noah turns up at camp and Cassie finds herself in a love triangle situation.

I loved EVERY single second of this book. I love Cassie and her friendship with Emma. I thought Cassie was such a strong and mature young woman. When she finds herself in the love triangle, Cassie’s friends from home and her new friend Emma can see who Cassie is in love with… she knows it too but doesn’t admit it!

In the time of the summer camp, you see such a journey of Cassie’s romance stories and even her own independent self journey.

This was such a happy, up-beat YA romance book that honestly, I would highly recommend

3/5 ⭐️
i liked cassie as a main character she has a lot of depth to her which is nice, i definitely did want to scream at her at some points because she was so indecisive and didn’t know what she wanted!!
cassie and dean getting together in the first week was definitely a red flag from the start. definitely just did it for the convenience but i found it quite predictable of what was going to happen especially when noah rocked into the camp, have to admit i did not like him at first found him so strange and kinda forcing himself onto cassie in a way especially at the beach but then as it reached the end and he set up the picnic for her you know you can tell how much he does love her and you can’t beat a feeling! she knew when she saw him for the first time that buzz but she didn’t want to admit it.
cassie and emma’s friendship was my favourite part!! i love the girlyness of it and i love them both so much.
i like how the book brought other themes as well like anxiety and panic attacks which are so important and the bad home situation because there real life and it’s nice to see how much cassie matures throughout the book and becomes to accept it.
i’m glad cassie found her one true love.
overall, i liked the book it was an good first book from Victoria and i can’t wait to read what she has next coming out.
but, maybe it wasn’t that much for me and that’s okay ☺️

This was so cute and really reminded me of being on scout camps just with a bit more drama!

I normally don’t love a love triangle but I think it was done really well and I was so desperate to see who ended up with who!

Massive congratulations to Vicki for her first novel I really really enjoyed it!

‘That Summertime Feeling’ is YA romance book based around Cassie and her summer camp experience. I was extremely lucky to have been given an ARC copy by @victoriajanewrites

I found Cassie a lovely main character. She was such a mature character. Personally it took me a little while to get used to the first person as that’s not something I’ve read very much. The struggle between relationships and her family life was emotional. Her calls with Lexi were a pleasure to read, a true friendship.

I loved Cassie and Emma’s relationship, they were so cute and girly. Personally I didn’t see Emma and Dean getting together while Cassie was still in the picture. I knew there was something but I was highly surprised to find out they were going behind Cassie’s back after she kept away from Noah.

Noah, omg what a character. He loved her from the first moment and time after time when she pushed him away, he was still there loving her. The first date was adorable, the sunrise and sunset were so sweet!

The love triangle had me screaming ‘Cassie just be with Noah’. It was such a page turner hoping they would get together at each chapter and of course it came right on the last day of camp.

The reason this isn’t five stars for me was personally the epilogue felt a little bit quick as I just wanted to say more moments between Noah and Cassie actually being together. That might just be a personal thing as it was bittersweet than getting together at the end.

I would highly recommend this book. Victoria has been a wonderful job at writing it and promoting the book. This is such a cute, first romance story.

in this book, we follow cassie. she has been sent to a summer camp by her parents, as a way for her to get distracted from the problems at home. there she meets noah & dean.. and finds herself in love triangle of sorts✨

this was such a lovely summery read! im so glad i decided to read this as one of my last summer books! it was just warm, cosy & so relatable at times!

this book had a lot of feelings in it, which i loved! the plot was interesting, the characters were very cute and the romance was definitely adorable!

one of my favourite things when reading is relating to the main characters & that definitely happens in this book, i related to cassie a lot! the way she handles her feelings & problems was like looking into a mirror for me!

☀️ YA romance
☀️ forced proximity
☀️ love triangle
☀️ he falls first
☀️ summer camp

This is one of those love stories that you just want to pick up every single summer and relive all over again 🥹 I fell in love with the characters as soon as I met them and I loved that it all took place at summer camp! The deeper themes were gorgeously woven in and the romance was so stinking cute I just couldn’t put it down. If you’re looking for a YA summer fling to keep forever, I’d highly recommend!!

Thank you to Victoria Jane for an early copy in exchange for my honest opinion 💖

This is a cute little summer holiday read and I did really enjoy it.

I found the conflicting love interests to be quite interesting however I felt there was a real lack of depth to the characters. I felt I only knew them on a surface level rather than skin deep.

That being said, the writing and language used is gorgeous and fun!

I found the home life drama gave the book more juice however I felt like it just wasn’t enough to give me an idea of who the main character actually was.

Defo worth a read!

Great book Tori!💖

Such an amazing feel-good book. I got so invested in the characters and their individual idiosyncrasies, and I loved that none of the suspense or issues felt manufactured purely to cause artificial drama, I totally understood the motivations and desires of the characters. A fantastic story and made me feel so warm and good by the end, the epilogue was like seeing old friends again. I’d totally recommend this book to any romance lovers, even in the wintertime it makes for a cozy read <3

If you are looking for a quick and closed door romance then pick this book up! The romance was subtle and so refreshing as it also follows the story of friendship.

The main character definitely shows how much they grow throughout the book and even though I did not agree with decisions…. I still enjoyed the book.

Also two boys fighting over the girl.. usually I dislike love triangles but damnn.

Thank you Victoria for sending me this book to review so proud of you 🤍
