(BUT SHE HAS A CONDITION). ?
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BRILLIANT STORYLINE BRILLIANT CHARACTERS. I LOVE THOMAS AND FRANCIS (HOT) Looking forward to book two - maybe Jonathon and Jenny ( who knows) LOVED IT I RECEIVED ARC
This story was about Francis and Thomas, a commoner who had unexpectedly become a Duke. Francis planned to help Thomas and his younger sister, Jenny, manage her first season in the ton. This was a typical enemies to lovers trope, but it as so obvious they cared for one another even though they couldn’t admit it to themselves. I did feel like it took too long for them to figure it out, and they both had stupid reasons for thinking they shouldn’t be together. The reasons just didn’t make sense given their personalities and their attitudes toward the ton. It just seemed unlikely that it would take their friends to point out those basic facts after they had been getting to know one another as friends. I did like the characters in the story. I thought they were well developed and likable. The relationship that Thomas had with his childhood friend was endearing and it gave a glimpse into Thomas’s history and his behavior. I loved the connection developed between Frances and Jenny as well. It seemed genuine and deep.
This was a steamy love story that could also been seen as friends to lovers instead of enemies once they spent some time together. I just think they enjoyed pushing each other’s buttons. The light bickering was part of their friendship.
I enjoyed this story. Duke Thomas had not expected to become a Duke. He was a shopkeeper and inherited unexpectedly. Frances was quite a prim and proper lady and when she met Thomas' nervous young sister at a ball, she offered to help her prepare for her first season. The preparation went well but it was clear that Thomas was in need of her guidance as well. They all worked together to adjust to society rules. However, feelings grew between Thomas and Frances and it was notices by their friends. When people began to talk about them it was obvious that they should marry but Frances turned Thomas down. Why? Because he was a Duke and she was only the daughter of a Baron. Would Thomas be able to convince Frances that the difference in their class did not matter? Read on and enjoy.
I really appreciate how she wasn't a gossip & stood up for those when unfounded stories were being told about them, I was not a big fan of her other friends though with the exception of Dorothy I thought their friendship was very sweet. & I loved his friendship with Jonathan, he was a great friend! I do think ones her plans changed for marriage, her plans needed to change too, it's kinda gross to want to merry on person & sleep with someone else. Pretty head to get passed & the end felt a little rushed. It's a shame because I really like the back & forth of their banter in the beginning.
Corrupted by the Wicked Duke by Scarlet Osborne is a sexy and intriguing story. Frances figures she is going to be an old maid so she wants to be made love to before settling for that. She is teaching etiquette to a new Duke Thomas and his sister Jenny so who better than Thomas to ask to make love to her than Thomas. He finally makes love to her and she ends up ruined when a nosie busy body sees them kissing and spreads the gossip. She turns Thomas down when he wants to save her reputation. What will happen? Such a good book.
Love this story and its main two characters; Frances and Thomas. He had closed himself of to any kind of relantionship. She was happy with her status as a spinter. When a proposition was given their lives changed forever! It brought to light feelings they did not think they were capable of. Hugely Recommend!!!
Chose this as my thanksgiving read, there is inconsistencies such as the FL being clearly stated as having brown and amber eyes at the beginning yet towards the middle and end of the book she has blue eyes. Overall the characters were likable but lacked meaningful depth. An easily digestible quick read- 3 stars.
This was a great story! The characters were strong and opinionated, and there was none of that mincing about and vacillating about everything. This story was much cleaner than her prior books, which was a very pleasant surprise.
Wallflowers, spinsters and scandals all in one book! Oh, and how it all plays out! Live through the characters and their situations, their ups and downs, good and bad.
The only thing that the new Duke wants is to be left alone. But that’s not going to happen- so it’s etiquette lessons for him & his sister but love gets in the way. Only it’s disquieting he can’t see the truth - or can he?
I disliked how one of her friends was aJudas. But the rest of the group wanted to give her good advice. Having met a young couple at a small dinner party she was floored. She out he was a Duke. But he seemed rough around the edges. She was drawn to the sister since she seemed so nervous. The made friends and she had offered to help the young lady in her first season. This how she ended up helping the Duke also.
What a great story. Characters ste well developed, funny and clever. Full of life from beginning to end. Rooted for them all the way. Finally they got it right. Read it twice!
This is an unusual story that is fun to read and shows a lot of spirit toward what the ton expects. I recommend it to everyone who likes to see the ton antaganised.
Throughly enjoyed the story line ..loved how the characters were woven into the story. Lovely HEA..loved the author so I always know I’m in for an enchanting trip
The perfect amount of suspense, sexual tension, frustration over them figuring things out, then a fitting resolution. Jenny was great and my guess is she falls in love with Jonathan.
The hero is a commoner ho suddenly finds himself a duke. He brings his sister to her first season. The heroine is a compassionate, almost a spinster young woman who befriends the sister. The hero is a little skeptical at first but slowly realizes she is sincere and allows her to teach him some social polish too. She want in return to feel like a woman. Some of the secondary characters help to make the story sweet while the main characters add some steam. I enjoyed it.
