There are reasons why I shouldn’t want Will Randolph.
I shouldn't want his hands on my body or his filthy whispers in my ear. I shouldn't want to touch his gorgeous physique, or stare too long into his unsettling green eyes.
I'm forbidden to him. He's off-limits to me.
But Will has never heard the word "no." Wealthy and indulged, the only son of a media titan, he's a golden boy in a golden bubble. He's always gotten everything he wanted.
Except me.
When I was fifteen, he asked me to run away with him.
When I was eighteen, he invited me to a party in the Hamptons and chased me through the woods.
Now I'm twenty-two, my life is in upheaval, and I'm spending the summer at his family's estate. I arrive thinking Will has forgotten everything between us. Instead, he's decided I'm his to toy with, because I've accepted the velvet chains of his family's support.
But his family is my family, too.
I could run.
I hate that I want him to follow.

TEASER: “So tight,” he said softly. “It fits you like a glove.” I shook my head, bowing my face so my hair fell forward. A large hand stroked up and down my back, making my breath catch.
“It’s all wrong,” I whispered. “I should go change. But I don’t have anything like what the other girls are wearing.”
“Sshhh,” Will murmured. “You look fine.”
“Only fine?” The way he was rubbing my back made my head go light.
His laugh was knowing. “Keep it on, Andie.”
“Why?”
“Because I say so.” He spoke with casual authority. “I like you like this. Don’t change.”

Loved Priceless by this author and I think I really need to read her backlist because this was another winner for me. It was addictive and fun. A bit twisted with a good heart behind both characters. The relationship was hot, and for someone who doesn’t often enjoy so much smut in her books, this was a good exception to that rule. It worked for them.
Why 4 stars and not 5 then? It felt like something was missing but I can’t quite pinpoint. Something that Priceless had but this one doesn’t. Maybe I just needed more? Especially because the relationship development happened fairly quickly. Not too sure…Great book, just not quite at my 5-star level.
Very good read though that I devoured in under a day.
I absolutely loved this taboo romance, I say that after going into this hesitantly because typically blood related is a no go for me but something about this book was just everything. I love sneaking around in books and that’s what the majority of this was so that definitely had a hand in me giving this five stars, and the spice. The spice in this book was otherworldly. Somehow hearing the words “Little slut cousin” was one of the best lines repeated in this book. Something about the tabooness and then just the forbiddenness of it did something to me mentally. I have gone back to this book many times since reading it, thinking maybe my thoughts would change but honestly they have only gotten stronger. I know the idea of this might put some people off but I think a line in the epilogue really solidified why I think I am ok with this and not with brother and sister romance which is that many people have married their cousins or been in relationships with them. I’m pretty sure like Iceland had to make an app so people stopped sleeping with their cousins. Like its truly only recently become taboo and I mean if the cousin was anything like Will, the MMC, then I would 100% understand why someone would get with him. The way he talked to Andie, the FMC, both during spicy times and just in general was with love and care (not in the bedroom though) and who wouldn’t want that?
Know what you’re getting into with Miranda Silver. Her characters always have an air about that that gives an edge, an authority, and evokes a longing that I can’t quite place. It’s the same here in Wanting! This book was addictive, fun, SPICY!!! Of course it’s twisted, they’re *spoiler alert* COUSINS but there’s so much more to it than that. Their relationship was hot and heavy, even when nothing scandalous was happening. There didn’t need to be, because the underlying tension was always there and simmering. I loved it!
This was a re-edit and write, so there were a few continuity errors that left me stumbling a bit. Additionally, although Silver added a ton, I felt like it needed more. The first chunk of the book takes place over a summer, which we seem to breeze through with no consequence. Once our FMC moves to NYC and the MMC goes back to college, things really take shape again. I would have liked a little more depth and complexity here.
Overall, I needed something short and taboo, and this fit the bill perfectly!
i’d rate this book a 0 if i could. there’s barely any character development and it’s literally just smut. the plot is so weak, if you could close one eye and pretend there is one.this felt like a 60 page erotica — why it was turned into a 216 page novel i’ll never know. apologies, and don’t think i’ll be reading from this author again.
ARC request, but opinions are my own. Also, i found this story when it began as two-part short story before it was expanded into a full novel, so my perspective is driven by that.
Let me tell you- Miranda is a pro at writing steamy, juicy scenes that you don’t want to put down. I loved the summer in the Hamptons vibes (like a slutty CW show), and the chemistry between the two protagonists in the series, especially in the first half, was electric (bathtub scene, anyone?). I was a noob to non-con before this, and I will say while the author really plays on the forbidden sexiness of resistance and saying no, it was even sweeter when the story explores how hot an enthusiastic “yes” can be. Making non-con cousin erotica absolutely thrilling is no easy feat, and I commend the author for that! My one issue with the book is the plot pacing. There is some new content (including a tantalizing back story that is never before seen), but I was a little disappointed from the overall lack of new sex scenes, especially with all the anticipation for this novel! We don’t get enough development of their relationship to make me invested in their endgame- most of their bond building happens off-screen in between time jumps and exposition (a legacy of the original short story I presume) rather than actual scenes. Needs more mid-story sexiness and chemistry, less useless padding. I don’t know if the ending added anything, and I would’ve been more intrigued if the relationship remained casual if anything. Still, this is definitely a story you want to check out for yourself, even if you’ve never read anything quite as taboo before! If you love dom/sub, reluctance, summer flings, first time, give this one a read.
Also, is it just me or did anyone else think his dad was a hotter dom than Will? haha
Well, isn't this book just a fine delicacy? Wanting is a very juicy taboo tale about craving someone, something, a life just beyond your reach. Rich boy x poor girl. Cousins. Forbidden fruit always does taste the sweetest, though this particular variety certainly is an acquired taste.
"Manipulative, entitled, creepy cloth. Gorgeous, angry cloth. Selfish cloth. Heartless cloth, incapable of love." Will did come across as a bit of a privileged preppy prick, at the beginning, but that's to be expected when, "You've had everything handed to you. You just take and take. You don't know what it's like to lose things. You don't care, you don't care about anyone except yourself. You're just a golden boy in a golden bubble, and nothing you do ever means anything. It's like you're not even a real person." He gives me Chuck Bass vibes from Gossip Girl.
"Why do you keep saying no, Andie... when you're so hot and so wet and so f*cking wanting every time I touch you?"
"Because you've never given me the chance to say yes."
Half-hearted no's and midnight chasing through the woods turn into sweet sneaking around and champagne pouring over naked bodies. It's a beautiful read.
"With all the 'yes' I'd said, from the beginning of last summer through the softest moments and up to that hard flood of wanting in my bedroom last October, Will had always been making. Whether he meant it or not. Making me admit I wanted him, making me crazy, making me surrender to total pleasure and desire and lust."
Spence and Pax, these two need their own book like yesterday. I love them, I need more of them.
𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 by Miranda Silver is one of those reads that is going to 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐄 you wholeheartedly. The journey she takes her readers on with this book is 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐘 addictive — 𝐇𝐎𝐓 𝐅*𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐃@𝐌𝐍 — you won't be able to put it down until the very end!
Will and Andie's chemistry is undeniable, but they come from two different worlds —he's rich/she's poor, but that's not the biggest obstacle standing in their way — 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐁𝐘 𝐀 𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐓. Their taboo relationship and instant sparks sent 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒘𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒔 through my body. Get ready to inhale all the 𝒔𝒎𝒖𝒕𝒕𝒚 and 𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒕 filled moments because readers are in for a quick and intense ride!
Miranda Silver has had me hooked on her since I read an early ARC of 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 back in late 2019 — still one of my favorite reads (and common re-read when I am in a book slump) to date — so I leapt at the chance to read 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠! Let me just tell you all that she 𝐅*𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 delivered everything I could have asked for in a taboo read + things I never could have imagined wanted, but now I want more! I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next!
We all have our one-click authors and @mirandasilverbooks is one for me. Social media informed me I NEEDED to read Priceless, and I did and am so thankful. Then we met The Boys Next Door and all that followed in the brothers' lives, and I can not recommend any of her stories enough.
So when Miss Maam said she was putting out a taboo/ forbidden romance, well, obviously, I needed it.
I just had to trust the process and know that she wouldn't lead me astray. And she didn't.
Wanting def meets the taboo / forbidden requirements because Andie & Will are blood cousins. But they just can't stay away from each other.
They grow up knowing who they are to each other but aren't overly close. Will has his sights set, and there is no deterring him. It is what used to happen back in the day, right ? What's a little issue, like being blood cousins when you're rich and in lust?
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about their story, TBH. This is maybe my 2nd book I've read with blood family and I loved it. They get their HEA and I am here for it.
Thank you, Miranda, for always being so lovely and kind and for this ARC. I absolutely enjoyed it.
💋 Taboo (cousins) 💋 Forced Proximity 💋 V FMC 💋 Dubc0n 💋 different classes
Full transparency I loved this story since I first read it in 2016 and it ended in a happy for now so I was beside myself when I saw Miranda Silver was publishing it as a book with a happy ever after. How much of my nostalgia lens were on for this, I couldn't say but I must've read the original no less than a dozen times and it always LEFT ME WANTING. However this book, did not. I am content and fullfilled now that these two tormented souls have each other and can ride off into the sunset pouring champagne over their bodies.
I'm trying to think of what drew me so much into the story. Yes the forbidden cousins aspect was salacious but also the class difference with how very out of place and uncomfortable the heroine was within the hero's world. Hero was captivating yet forceful and spoiled, constantly taking without restraint until she taught him to ask. I love that so much.
Their taboo nature and attraction ignited the initial spark of passion, but beneath it all, they discovered depth and a meaningful connection in their shared similarities.
Thanks to Miranda Silver for the review copy and this is my honest review.
Forget kissing cousins, because this book goes far beyond kissing...
Andie and Will are first cousins (their moms are sisters). The family dynamic is pretty messed up to begin with, and Andie and Will have already had a couple of encounters before she goes to the spend the summer with his family. Will's family lives much differently than Andie's. Will wants for nothing and is never denied anything that he wants, and what he wants now is Andie.
Andie tries to resist her cousin's advances (sort of). There is a lot of dub-con going on in this book, a lot of saying no while only half-heartedly meaning it. That's a huge chunk of the book right there, and while this is definitely an enjoyably steamy read, I found myself wanting a little more out of Andie and Will's story. There is a touch of drama, and although I wouldn't necessarily consider this a dark read, it is definitely taboo and forbidden.
If you're looking for a quick and dirty little read, then you'll want to add this one to your TBR.
*Received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.*
When something is described as taboo, it better be. This is definitely taboo because...cousins. First cousins. I like being made uncomfortable. I like books that question what is acceptable and isn't. I mean, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were cousins, not first but still cousins. Needless to say, this book is not for everyone. It's super spicy (which I love) and very taboo.
I was surprised by how relatively short it is and that was a factor in my rating. Some things weren't as fleshed out as I would have liked, namely, the climax. I expected a big "to-d0" but it ended anti-climactically. So, I would have liked it to be longer in order for the tensions to actually be tense. I wanted big drama!
PHEW! Wanting is the absolute perfect book to scratch that taboo itch. Andie and Will's story is captivating and passionate. They are from completely different worlds, but they are drawn to each other through broken family relationships. The evolution of their relationship from an innocent connection to one of deeper desires is earnest, though Andie is much more wary to explore those feelings than Will. Explosive chemistry and dark needs become too hard to resist and when they come together, we are talking HIGH LEVEL SPICE!!! This book has me feeling all kinds of ways, but if you want taboo, forbidden, and spice, Wanting will more than deliver on all fronts. Check those TWs and if you're game, dive in and enjoy!
What isn't there to say about this novella? Miranda Silver has been one of my favorite romance authors for years now and it is this novella that opened the door to me knowing about the romance and erotica genre. This version of "Wanting" is polished and the additional chapter is an exceptional addition. The way Silver weaves the ramifications from the flashback throughout the rest of the story is masterful.
Will & Andie are both fully fleshed out characters that jump from the page and if you were a fan of her novel "Priceless", this will be an instant love as well. I would also recommend this to those who enjoy Dramione as Will gives definite Draco vibes.
This story is beautiful and sinful in all the best ways and I can simply not recommend it enough.
I loved Priceless and Crave so I was really excited to read Wanting.
Andrea goes to live with her aunt for the summer. While there lines and boundaries get blurred between her and Will; her cousin.
Loved how Andrea navigated her situation and how Will learned from her. The angst and drama worked for such a short piece. The smexy times were SMEXY! I would expect nothing less from Miranda.
At times I found myself wishing it was dual POV because I needed and wanted a little more. Also, at times the development & resolution for things was fast. That said I really enjoyed it.
Fast burn, angsty, slightly over 200+ pages of smutty goodness.
Wanting by Miranda Silver is a standalone taboo and forced proximity romance with dark themes. This one follows the story of cousins, Andie and Will. Andie is the virgin FMC who grew up poor. And Will is the rich playboy MMC. This book is a page Turner that is addicting, full of fun, and spice. The tension between the two characters will have you coming back for more. If you're looking for an angsty, steamy, and fast read, this book is definitely for you. Again, this is a taboo/forbidden romance. If that's not your jam, that's okay. But please know that before going into this book. If it is your jam, enjoy the ride!
wow wow wow What a journey I went through with this book! Simply phenomenal! I loved every second 😍
Caution in advance, this includes a relationship between cousins and is not suitable for everyone, please do not judge! Everyone likes what they like, and I’m obsessed with taboo romance and forbidden love . So now I need to find a new book to fill the void in my heart and soul 🫠
Truth be told, Priceless and its MMC’s are still my favorite from this author, and I didn’t think any characters could come close to evoking the sort of feelings that they did for me. However, Will and Andie’s dynamic immediately draws the reader in, and a cat and mouse game of forbidden/taboo interludes over the course of several summers are so intriguing, one can’t help, but rush, through the story with rapt attention to detail. I loved this book, and it is named because I was left wanting more! Miranda is a gifted storyteller, and I look forward to finally finishing her entire backlist.
WARNING EXTREMELY TABOO AND HAVE A SECOND PAIR OF UNDERWEAR ON HAND‼️
I was given an advanced copy in exchange for my review. This is my honest opinion I am giving voluntarily. This isn’t even the wildest story I’ve read like this. Compared to rot by Candace wondrak this is tame. This is a fast burn with no plot but smut. I would’ve liked it better if it was dual pov just because the mmc is a little hard to read. I still really enjoyed this and I read it in one day
I have been excited to read Wanting since it was announced. It might surprise some of yall, but the main trope (taboo romance between cousins) is what drew me in. Well that AND the author who's writing I adore.
Sometimes I like taboo ... sue me! Anyways Will and Andie had a surprisingly sweet dynamic. The pining and chemistry was palpable and I really enjoyed the development of their romance. To the point I wanted the book to be longer because I wanted more from them. I also found the family relationships interesting and that added a lot to the story.
Finally, I know this isn't a read for everyone, but if you like taboo reads then I think you ahould check it out.
Wow. If you’re looking for something forbidden, taboo, short and spicy, look no further. This book was perfect. While this book was spicy, it also had its sweet moments and I fell in love with the characters. Watching the character development melted my heart. I love when a short and spicy book also pulls on your heart strings and this one delivered that for sure.
From the very beginning, this book is so steamy that I couldn't see through my reading glasses! The dynamic between Andie and Will is so right, and so very wrong. I literally could not put my kindle down. I don't usually re-read books, but this one deserves more than 1 read!
The first and last cousin romance I’ll read but I gotta hand it to the author, the writing is fantastic. This book brought me out of a long slump that I have been going through. Obsessed with the storyline. I was hooked. Thank you so much for writing this book
The taboo is tabooing and I love that for me. Miranda’s degradation and spice is always top tier. I loved this short story, wish it could’ve had a little more to it but I felt that everything that needed to happen did and I wasn’t left horribly… wanting ❤️.
It was very quick and fast. It lacked a bit of the depth that I am used to from this author, but it was still good. I wish we could have learned some more intimate lovey dovey sharing they did, but the lemons were nice and ripe 🍋😜 I hope to see more about Spence and Pax!
The tagline says “a dark taboo romance” and Miranda Silver means it. This book is beautifully written, haunting, and completely forbidden in all the ways that make it stick with you. It’s intense, unsettling, and yet somehow tender.
