Every day the monsters come through The Divide. For exactly six hours they have free rein before they're pulled back to their realm. For six hours every day, it's hell on earth.
So make sure the correct symbols are carved deep into your threshold and every windowsill. Make sure you recharge them with a few drops of your blood at least once a month to keep the monsters out.
And whatever you do, don’t go outside past curfew.
How did things go so wrong? I just wanted to go to the Halloween party to dance and show off my fairy costume I worked so hard on. But somehow I ended up in the monster realm, prey to a horned creature with claws, four arms, a wicked tail, and flaming eyes. Unfortunately, this isn’t anything like the primal monster romance novels I love to read. Though, the longer he hunts me, the more I think this nightmare might end up becoming my darkest fantasy.
The There’s a tempting little human female in my home. My fated mate. But I swore off love long ago. Never again. I’ve learned from my mistakes. I don’t need her and will reject our bond. Fates be damned. At least, that’s the lie I tell myself. Because I’m enjoying this hunt, and her fear calls for me to claim what is mine. I bet she tastes delicious.
T. B. Wiese is a military spouse, dog mom, photographer, Disney nerd, and lover of spicy fantasy. She loves animals (She grew up with dogs and working with horses, including working at the Tri-Circle D Ranch at Disney World), so don’t be surprised when you find yourself reading lovable animal characters in her novels.
She has loved reading since she was little, and her tbr list is embarrassingly long, but she’s always looking to add more, so if you have a spicy fantasy recommendation, pass it along.
"He's about to learn how little power he has when it comes to a human woman who holds his heart."
Man this was a wild ride! I knew this was going to be an instant favorite as soon as I read the dedication. The chasing was HOT HOT HOT. When I say I want monster chasing scenes....these are what I'm talking about!
I wasn't sure how we were going to get to a HEA in this one but the Ancient pulled it off. I loved the spooky, dark vibes this one had compared to the others in the series. Definitely made me want Fall and Halloween season to get here already!
We got a lot of backstory of the Ancient and you do end up feeling bad for him and sort of understanding why he did what he did to Ana. But gosh when I think of a monsterous monster....he is it. I wouldn't have been as brave and strong as Ana was going against him.
Book Review: Hunted on Halloween by T.B. Wiese (Monsters of the Divide #4)
Vadász—the Ancient One himself—finally getting his mate? Yes, please. His and Ana’s journey was so soft in a way I wasn’t expecting, especially with their communication struggles. Watching them finally break through that barrier and figure each other out? Adorable.
But here’s the thing—this series felt like it was leading up to this book, like we were finally going to get some answers about why all these fated mates are suddenly appearing in one street in this one town. And yet… I’m still waiting. Now I’m left with a book hangover and so many questions.
Are there more books coming? Because I need answers. If you love protective monsters, fated mates, and a slow build toward something bigger, this one is a must-read. But fair warning—you’ll be desperate for the next piece of the puzzle.
Oh! She hits again with a terrific fantasy romance novel. I enjoyed this exceptionally well written, lighthearted, great plot, and world-building series. After completing a book in this series, I used to look forward to the next love story, waiting with bated breath to see the next characters introduced and learn another piece of the magnificent world that she had created. This is the fourth and final book in the series, and I'm sad to see it come to an end.
4.5
I received and ARC of this book for an honest review.
Summary: This is the fourth and final book in the Monsters of the Divide series. The Ancient One has obtained the black stone and is now back in his realm, trying not to revisit the past. He has learned from his mistakes to never trust or love, and although it happened way back, the hurt and pain are still fresh. His resolve is tested when the Fates place a human female in his home.
Ana is dancing at a Halloween party in the dress she has spent hours crafting, and she is enjoying how it feels on her. She crashes into a stranger and gets transported to an unfamiliar location. It's dark, and someone—a monster—chasing her. She tries to escape as fast as she can, cursing the fact that she used to enjoy the hunt of monster romance novels.
Plot and Writing: We start right where we left off in book three with The Ancient One and the Stone, but then we skip four months and the story continues from there. The writing is in first person and dual POV; it has an even pace and flows beautifully throughout. The author's writing transports us into a fantastical world. The plot is Halloween themed; we get to see it celebrated in the human realm before being treated to a heart-pounding, thrilling but terrifying, action-packed chase sequence. Although we know that it is a happy ending plot, the rest of the book is quite unpredictable.
Magic System and World Building: The world building is already in place from its prequels, but in this book we get the answers that we were waiting for. The magic system is well-developed, and in here we get to see the powers of an ancient being.
Characters and Romance: I adored both the characters and their individual voices. I absolutely love how each character in this series has a distinct voice and character. We learn a little bit about the characters from book three, as well as some of the prior characters. My favorite parts were the backstory of the Ancient One and his arc when he realizes his mistake. I personally felt the novel somewhat lacked a personal perspective on Ana. In keeping with the preceding books, our monster's thinking and nature are quite animalistic, rather than a toned-down Monster counterpart with human manners.
The romance exudes bittersweet, forgiving, tender, and coming from hard places emotions. It has a totally different feel than the other romances in this series. The chemistry between the main characters was evident. Although I wished our MMC would grovel a little more. Finally, we are smacked with spice, which, as previously stated, the author executes quite nicely.
Recommend: I wholeheartedly suggest this series to everyone who can read a book that contains spice. Even if they are not fans of the romantasy genre, I believe they will enjoy the place, concept, plot, characters, and, of course, the spice.
Hunted on Halloween by T.B Wiese is a novella four in the Monsters of The Divide Series. This was a great quick, monster romance read. I was already a fan of the previous books and this author in general so I knew I was in for a good time. This to me had darker vibes and I absolutely ate it up; this book is absolutely perfect for the spooky season. The characters were so well done that I felt for both. Ana was such a strong lady to be able to deal with being pulled into the Monster Realm and everything that happens after. Then there’s The Ancient, my heart really went out to him. But my absolute favorite part was the chase scene, oh my gosh! I was concerned how we were going to get a HEA but it was pulled off brilliantly. This novella hands down has to be my favorite so far out of all of them. My attention was caught from the start and didn’t waver in the slightest during my read. Something about The Ancient just pulled at my heartstrings. The writing was great with a well thought out plot that you can’t help not to get lost in. I’m hoping for stories centered in this world but in all honesty just looking forward to more of the author’s stories. This is a perfect read for fall and/or spooky season, highly recommend! Plus, look at the cover, love it!
The moonlight removes the gold from her strands, painting them a cooler shade. Darker, but no less beautiful. “You were made for sunlight, Ana.” She copies me, stroking my silver hair. “You were made for starlight.” Tilting her head, she smiles at me. “And isn’t that just perfect? The sun and the stars.”

I can’t believe this was the last of the series 🥹 But what a way to conclude it, whew! I might declare this one my favourite 🫢
The vibes were perfect for the upcoming fall and Halloween time. With the Ancient One as the MMC this time around, his relationship with Ana was much more primal and their story was different from the previous couples. Loved the little cameos!
He was justified in his actions and the way he reacted, but I would have loved for him to grovel more. I couldn’t be happier that there was a 2nd chasing scene because our dear Ana wanted/deserved one like in her fantasies. I added a whole chili to the spice rating because it was so well done.
Me, when?!
Can’t wait to hear more about the secret project 👀
Out celebrating Halloween, Ana finds herself mysteriously pulled into the Monster Realm in the lair of an Ancient Being. The Ancient One is shocked to find a human in his home. Even more shocked when he realized she is his fated mate. But he swore of love a long time ago, and fates be damned, he will reject her and then destroy her.
An awesome finish to this novella series. This one is definitely more feral and primal. The chase scene .. oh my gosh. The HEA was in question for the while because he was a bit of a monster (understandably) but thankfully it happened beautifully. As for the series, knowing what the stone was that was attracting all the mates was a nice reveal but still no question as to how it got there. I hope T.B. Wiese does more with this world, but regardless I cannot wait to see what she has next.
Rating 4.5 stars *I received a review copy from the author for my voluntary and honest review
To say I've enjoyed The Monsters of the Divide Series by T.B. Wiese is an understatement! Each book in this series is spectacular. The world in which the Divide opens daily allowing Monsters into the world gives us plenty of danger mixed with fated mates. On to this book, The ancient has an awful past, one which haunts his every move. Ana is just the opposite, she is out enjoying her Halloween when out of nowhere she is pulled away and into the unknown. This is one of those stories that it's difficult to avoid spoilers but I will try. I was on the edge of my seat with this one and loved every twist and turn. The ancient is not kind, especially because of who he believes Ana to be. But she's not who he thinks...or is she? Oh, I can't forget the heart racing spice between our MCs! If you are looking for a monster romance this Spooky Season, I highly recommend Hunted on Halloween!
Dang! I've been reading Monsters of the Divide since Paine's novella was release and they have been very fun to read. This one is defenelty one of my top favorites from the series. Paine's story is still number one but this one is a close second. The Ancient was betrayed by the person he loved over a century ago so when a human crosses to the monster ream and he recognizes the fated mates bond he is determined to reject the bond at all costs and fight it he does. So freaking awesome!
Also side note. T.B. Wiese adds a cocktail recepie to go with the novella. I'm not a big drinker but it definitely had me salivating for it. So, I'm gonna have to try it soon for sure!

Part of an interconnected series, can be read as a standalone.
Everyday for 6 hours, Monsters come to earth through the Divide and wreak havoc. This year Ana decides to attend a Halloween party, as long as she is home before the curfew. But fate has other plans for her. Somehow she is transported through the Divide to a monster's lair.
The monster has been burned by love before, and even though he can sense that Ana is his true mate, he tries to deny the bond and kill her.
This was a fun, light read with a sweet, sweet monster - once he gets over his hurt.
This was a fun monster romance where the monster was actually monstrous. I LOLed at the cryptid reference. Not gonna spoil it, you’re going to have to read it. There were references to the 3 other brooks in the series and I didn’t get them because like a dumb dumb and against the explicit advice of the author, I decided to read book 4 as a Halloween standalone. I’m starting the series in the right order in December with Paine for the Holidays so I may come back and bump up this rating after reading the whole series.
This was a wild read (in the best way)! The was my first read in the series and now I need more. The world building was very cool, and I loved how the plot unfolded. The aspects of uncertainty added to the fun in reading it. I loved how the relationship between Ana and the Ancient One built up to the HEA I was craving. What was once scary ended up to be actually really soft, and I adored it.
If you like primal chase scenes I would definitely recommend this, as this was hot!
Fun fast paced story! This is a fun short story about two souls destined to be together! Ana an innocent mortal attending a party, and an unknowing ancient about to be bombarded with the last thing he was looking for. A very fast paced story that keeps your attention the whole time. The spice level is at a nine so not for the faint of heart! Don't Miss Out on this fun story and what a great way to preheat your night!
The emotional turmoil, the intense passion, the chasing! Wiese has done it again! Adding to the Monsters of the Divide series, Hunted gives us a glimpse of one of the Ancients, the oldest monsters in existence living beyond the Divide. With limitless powers and shape-shifting abilities, this is THE monster you hope the fates will choose you for! Including spiders, blood sucking and sexy dragons, this is the perfect spooky season monster romance. Four thumbs up!
The ride that this book took me on. Loved that it was fast paced and full of action in the beginning and then the spicy parts came in after the main premise of the story. An ancient monster who was betrayed by his past love meets her reincarnate and he wants nothing to do with her but kill and destroy her.
Same old song and dance. He tries to kill her and she falls in love with him. Couldn't you think of anything else but the same stupid lines we have heard before? This book is so ignorant. Why would a woman want to stay with someone who tried to choke her several times?
I saw a video the author posted about this book on social media, and I thought it’d be a perfect read for this season. And I’m so glad I saw it. I absolutely loved this story. Demons, and humans? Falling in love?what could be better. Throw in some chasing scenes, and fated mates? So good. I’ll definitely be reading the other books in this series.
I enjoyed the story between Ana and The Ancient One. It was a bit hard to connect with their relationship at the start but it totally makes sense why. It was a very cool dynamic between human and monster. I definitely recommend it. I can’t wait to read about 2 side characters introduced Malicious and Summer!
I actually really enjoyed this series. Wasn’t sure if I would but it was long enough to keep things moving but short enough to not drag along with mundane details. If I had them in print, I’d read them again. Only found two spelling errors in the last book. That’s a plus right there!
This novella may be short but it still packs an almost delicious punch. If you love monster romance, fated mates, primal play, super sweet and spicy scenes sure to make your breath hitch, and a vengeful goddess standing between the potential bond between the Ancient one and his human “Little Sprite” then this is absolutely the book for you.
Another amazing addition to the monsters of the divide series....and I'm not just saying that because I'm obsessed with redheads and dragons. I loved the Halloween aspect, and the return of our previous couples. Riveting story to this one. A must read.
I wasn’t sure at first it seemed complicated for such a short book, but after it got through the first couple of chapters I was absolutely hooked. It packs a punch! I binged it in just a few hours! I didn’t want to put it down.
I realized I never wrote my review of this oops. Perfect for spooky season, the spice was spicy butttt I just wish their was more a back story to the MCs lives. I do know it’s a short story so there isn’t much you can do about it. I still loved it and read it in one sitting
This is my first monster romance. I found it entertaining. More funny than scary or a turn on. It's enemy-to-lovers, with open door spice after a slow burn. I laughed out loud several times, and I'll be back for more. Run!
I really liked this book! Once again she does a great job with these novellas. I love getting the ARCs of these because they’re short, they’re sweet and very spicy!
