MINISERIES PREMIERE “Vengeance blooms in their veins.” MARIA LLOVET (CRAVE, Luna, Porcelain) returns with VIOLENT FLOWERS, a sensual tale about vengeance and acceptance, and the importance of embracing who we really are. An ancient clan of vampires reunites after centuries. The Sentinel, a vampire who watches over all supernatural creatures, has been murdered. His erratic sister, Carnelia, will stop at nothing to get revenge, even when she's charged with a mortal to take care of. In a world where the cult of youth and beauty rules, Carnelia has remained old and wrinkled for ages, abstaining from her vampire urges. But her addiction to blood may prove her resolution is not as firm as it seems. DON’T MISS the BEGINNING of this thrilling tale!!

I read Issues 1-4 which appear to be a standalone complete story. 1st Issue is prettier than it is compelling but the overall story merits a 3.5 stars rounded up for a good ending. The arc was pretty decent and the artwork is beautiful (also, I think it stuck the landing in the finale Issue #4) but there were a lot of allusions to past lives, artifacts and the mechanisms of vampirism that are not explained so I'm hoping this is just something that would be well known in Spain (e.g. retelling of existing stories or the like) or that it is actually meant to continue as a series with more explanation. I don't need exposition, but showing us something like "the arrow of Toxikon" as if it has a story behind it when it doesn't (I looked it up... toxic arrows was a thing but no one 'The Toxic Arrow" story exists) felt like cutting corners in the writing.
Lots of heightened emotions for creatures of the night it’s short and not so sweet haha I’m excited to see where this goes will be waiting for them to go on sale since these are so short!
I love anything with vampires and beautiful art! Maris Llovet is incrediblely talented and I'm in awe by her work. Looking forward to reading the other issues in this series
Interesting art style (though I would have liked a slightly different or bolder line weight) but I felt like whilst the plot had its sights set in lofty places, nothing MUCH really happened. It felt all pretension and no substance. Pretty gay, though.
