I LOVED volume 1, but this one took quite a few hard turns and ended up in a very weird place. They are both hot together, but I don’t love the dubcon bondage situation that’s happening. It doesn’t feel like the same book.
While the overall plot doesn't advance much here, the central relationship takes an unexpectedly dark turn. It's intriguing and it works for me because Joachim is very into the intense obsession that Juergen offers.
2 ⭐️ I was very surprised with the turn the second volume of this series took - cus the first volume was awesome, and was looking forward to this one, but it just didn’t feel like the same series at all? I was very confused, and unfortunately, not a good kind of confused.. I’ll read the next volume to see if it will be anything like the first one, but I’m keeping my expectations low at this point. But fingers crossed!
I don’t know how I feel about this series. The main relationship seems toxic and duplicitous on both sides. I like the mystery element but it is way explicit with a lot of triggers. I do want to see where this goes.
This manga is clearly written to be “sexy” for straight women, and not truthful or even safe for queer people. It feels coercive, and not erotic. Even though the sex can be drawn and made to look good, it’s clearly in violation of boundaries. Juergen pushes too hard, and has clearly mistaken emotional vulnerability for consent. Boundaries are getting crossed repeatedly, and intimacy feels like a transaction, not a connection. The relationship between Juergen and Joachim is toxic and it leaves me feeling the relationship is all wrong. There are times Joachim literally says the sex hurts and it’s like “well you’ll be ok”, like even since they MET, which was wild to begin with. It’s giving yellow flags with irony that Joachim is a badass sniper but his boyfriend is so… predator. Also the censorship is killing me!! Pushy does not mean passionate. I don’t feel safe reading this. I cannot finish this manga nor this series.
"secret" agent with a uniform x spy from the same agency. Turns out he is a dragon's son, and mama wants him to awaken so he can be the lord of new York. The plot doesn't make much sense. Really. And they dated for three years without knowing they were from the same agency. The esper who read minds didn't realize shadow and juergen were the same person. Joachim shot himself before realizing he didn't want to die to awake the dragon. Too late kid. Lucky the plot was protecting him.

Trigger warning there were some scenes that blurred the lines of consent(yet the book acted like this wasn’t the case) also way more 🌶️ than plot or character development. Not saying anything is wrong with spice but I would’ve rather seen more development. I also noticed that 7 Seas changed the quality of the paper for this volume and it was not for the better.
The world is interesting with certain people having powers but this book doesn't do any world building or moves the plot at all. It's mostly/ all sex scenes that don't feel consensual even if after the fact the mc seems ok with it. I'm not sure if I will continue this series.
Maybe more 3.5. Doesn't advance the plot much, aside from adding a potentially deadly mission for sniper. There's a lot of sex and the MC is kept against his will (somewhat) by the ML
