The main idea of this story is a group of children soldiers also known as "parasites",given code numbers for each child, work for this government foundation in which where they live called "plantation 13". These groups of teens fight in mechs called "Franxx" who work in a pair between a male and a female. This Manga had ended in January 24, 2020 in which case is when I finished the book. What I love about this Manga is that it is a drastic change with the Anime, in which case the Anime had a disappointment ending which many people, including me, did not like; and I was very satisfied by the way the Manga ended. One thing to clarify is that there are many nudity in this Manga, but this Manga had such a heartwarming story enough to make many people, including me, cry over for. This Manga/Anime will forever be my favorite series, and I highly recommend to people who are into giant robots fighting and a great loving story. I have no negative thoughts about this book other than the actual story in the anime; but that's not what's important. Buckle up because my all time favorite part between the two main protagonist, Hiro and Zero Two, is that they have met when they were children. It started when the female protagonist, "Zero Two", was being abused when she was little for an experiment for the adults because she was a different kind of "parasite" than the other kids. Few pages later Hiro found Zero Two being held captive in a room with an adult. Hiro ended up finding a way to break in and help save Zero Two in a real world where they escape, but in doing so they got caught with the adults and made Hiro and Zero Two erase their minds. Years later they end up remembering who each other where and was the biggest heartwarming story I have ever felt.
This was the series that I used for one of my favorite quotes.

Kinda conflicted because I loved the anime and even tho it follows the same story it feels different I think the anime does a lot of things better in terms of what this covers. Also this was a lot mote unnecessarily sexualized when it didn’t need to be which is saying a lot because the anime can be a bit much at times but this takes it up a notch and it feels very unneeded.

Die Menschheit ist bedroht von Klaxosauriern und diese werden besiegt mit Mechas. Mechas werden gesteuert von 2 Menschen.
Hiro ein anwärter für diese Mechas kann sich nicht mit diesen nicht Synchroniesieren, als die Mysteriöse Zero Two auf der Bildfläche auftaucht kann sich Hiro mit Synchroniesieren.
Ein Abenteuer beginnt.
Das Charakterdesign ist gut. Das Artwork ist ein Traum.
Die Mechas, also hier heissen sie Franxx sind auch eigenständig designed und stechen heraus.
Guter Start macht Lust auf mehr.
Wer auf Mecha Action steht und Ecci kram nicht abgeneigt ist, der möge zugreifen.

Molti di voi forse già conoscerete questo titolo grazie all'anime, che a partire dalla sua uscita nei primi mesi del 2018 è stato tanto chiacchierato un po' ovunque: mi riferisco ovviamente a Darling in The Franxx, il cui manga giunge ora in Italia grazie al sempre eccellente lavoro della Star Comics, costantemente impegnata ed aggiornata in fatto di nuove uscite. Una storia diversa dal solito per il mangaka Kentaro Yabuki, che questa volta si lancia in un racconto pieno d'azione, dove i mecha sono i veri grandi protagonisti. Ma scendiamo ora più nel dettaglio parlando della trama generale e delle informazioni relative al primo volume. 

Darling in the Franxx è ambientato in un futuro distopico in cui la superficie terrestre è stata ormai rasa al suolo da catastrofi e mutamenti ambientali, pertanto il genere umano vive all'interno di gigantesche città-fortezza semoventi chiamate plantation. Per affrontare i misteriosi e temibili Stridiosauri che attaccano una città dopo l'altra, un gruppo di scienziati ha creato dei robot chiamati Franxx, pilotabili da una coppia di Bambini. Hiro, un giovane candidato tra i tanti ragazzini che aspirano a diventare Parasite, risulta inidoneo al termine della sua prova di guida, e cade pertanto nello sconforto, combattuto tra l'abbandonare definitivamente i propri compagni ed il restare e riprovare nuovamente nell'impresa. L'incontro con una inquietante ed al contempo affascinante fanciulla dotata di corna e zanne smuoverà di certo qualcosa in lui, ma ce la farà Hiro a dimostrare a tutti quanto vale?

Tried reading the manga because I don't like the anime...

Darling in the FRANXX is very famous because of it's anime, i tried a while ago to watch and I dropped it because i used to believe that it was only made for fanservice.

Well, the manga so ? It's quite the same but I prefered the manga that I have finished. The issue of the anime that the manga doesnt have is the rythm of the story. The rythm is boring and too slow in the anime and as you can see with my note for the story, it's not something that you want to "taste" slowly. The manga is based on action, so it's fast to read even if the chapters are quite long compared to some other mangas. Obviously you do not have a bunch of text and you have many drawings.

Darling in the FRANXX is a fast food manga, it doesnt mean it's bad but do not wait to read a masterpiece that masters the storytelling and the character development. The main focus of this manga is the fanservice.

Basically, you have a shounen made for the action with mechas, you have romance, a simple "naruto"'s plot and unlike the anime, nudity.

Let's say it, this manga has been made to sell (and it worked, it's probably the thing that masters the author, the ability to create a profitable manga like SAO even if it's a novel). For some reasons, it was readable because the story is short (as I said, chapters are short to read), it took me two days to read it but you can easily do it in one, count 5 hours max to read it entirely. And you really need to be slow to read it in 5 hours.

Let's begin with the story. It's not very interesting and it's quite bland. The story accompanies the fanservice and not the opposite like in a normal manga with a little bit of fanservice. First point is that you cant really relate to the universe, it's not explained. You re in the fog. I would have liked to know some information that even the end dont tell you. I have the feeling that this "post apocalyptic" world is there and there are no explanations. It's here and nothing else to add. Because it was better for the fanservice I guess. As a reader, you will never immerse in the story. It's absolutely not possible. The "drama" scenes were quite useless and only added to make an attempt to deepen the story. Drama with the relationship between X and X, drama with 002 that leaves the HQ. The good point is that those drama were solved quickly so at least even if it didnt bring anything to the story, it was solved in the next chapter.. Classical example, if the manga shows you the "death" of a character, you wont never feel anything. I was surprised to react like "wait he's dead, seriously ? I didnt see it coming, well no matter". Honestly I didnt attach to any of the characters. The story in itself is a little bit original but not too much.. Ennemies were quite kind for ennemies, it's the Naruto syndrom, ennemies become kind for no reason and they help the main characters. The motive of some ennemies (the adults) were shaddy. I still dont understand them...

Once again the story is really basic and it accompanies the fanservice and not the opposite so yes it's at best average. Fortunately it was fast-paced because if the story was slow and long, I wouldn't have rated this manga 6.5 but 4.5.

I rated the characters 6 for some unknown reasons. I appreciated the main character that at the bravoure to do what he needs to do at least. 002 was the main good thing, her fanservice was good. The romance between Hiro and 02 was still better than in any other shounen were MC is in love with a girl, the girl is in love with MC but htey wont do anything unless the last chapter where you learn that they are now married 10 years later. (Hi naruto, Hi my hero academia later). It's probably the best thing about this manga. The author had the guts to do a real romance and not a half baked thing like any other shounens.

The art is ot a masterpiece but it was beautiful as we can expect from an action manga.

All in all, this manga is a fast food manga to read if you can read a manga that doesnt have a deep story. Actually if you like shounen you shouldn't be annoyed with this one. His main good thing is the romance so if you are interested in a shounen manga with a decent romance in it, you should give it a try. If you are someone that wants a deep story, deep relationships, deep character developments and drama then just skip this you will probably hate this manga. As a piece of art, this manga is quite bad to be honest. I probably overnoted it because i like romance and i'm proud to see a shounen konwn by a bunch of people with, finally, a decent romance in it.

Un début très inspiré poétiquement.

Nous sommes dans une dystopie. En creusant trop profondément l’humanité a révélé une nouvelle source d’énergie aussi puissante que catastrophique. Elle est en quelque peu remis à 0.
Mais voilà qu’en plus l’humain subit les attaques des « Hurleurs » (Non, pas ceux de Resident Evil!).

Les humains pilotent des genres de Méca appelés Fran XX ou « Parasites » chargés de combattre les Hurleurs et les menaces qu’ils représentent.

Petite présentation rapide des personnages « en mission », certains ont déjà leur petit caractère. Quelques-uns vont mourir…

Mort de rire le tout petit papy à moitié cyborg qui met une main au cul à sa pulpeuse subordonnée. Elle est toute gênée mais bon c’est son boss et puis il a plus toute sa tête)… Et la réaction qu’elle a…

Je ne m’étais pas rendu compte en l’achetant (Sous blister oblige et puis j’ai suivi l’algorithme Babelio) mais certains passages (pas beaucoup) sont clairement Ecchis. Mort de rire quand la fille plonge dans le lac et le héros se rue dans l’eau pour la sauver alors qu’elle vient de pêcher un poisson avec sa bouche.

Un manga adulte, mais aussi très fun.

C’est encore cette bonne vieille « blague » japonaise « tu es un pervers » / nez qui coule/ je plaisante (ou pas) / j’aimerais lire une drague différente, même si pervers c’est très connoté « Cheeky » et « Nasty » …

Hiro est recalé à l’examen (c’est lui le nom du héros !) et craque totalement pour une fille (une noble ?) qui est promise à une union sérieuse ...
Mais qui voudrait un peu de casual.

Quant – surprise – Hiro se voit offert la place de Naomie dans le « pilotage » qui dit qu’elle est fiche pour fichue…

Il y a le « hurleur blanc » qui se bat contre les « hurleurs noirs » franchement, ça m’a fait penser à Eren et le Titan Assaillant
Qui attaque uniquement les autres Titans.

Zero Two est une vraie tête brûlée et va piloter un « Parasite » (Méca) avec Hiro qui est tout autant flingué dans sa tête x )…

Zero Two et Hiro fusionnent pour affronter le Hurleur. Des références comme Demons Slave, Dragon Ball et même X-men.

Il n’est pas seulement question de tuer des monstres mais aussi de « trouver son darling » (les deux vont souvent de pair !) d’ailleurs je trouve bien de l’avoir laissé en Anglais parce que ça passerait moins bien en Français (je pense ?)…

Comme encore beaucoup de mangas jap, la fille est souvent plus entreprenante que le gars. Fantasme ou Réalité ? Et puis d’ailleurs ça fait combien de temps que j’ai pas lu deux filles entre elles ? Ou même deux amants masculins ?

Même vers la fin du Manga les traits d’humours font mouche !
Puis c’est de retour à l’entrainement, espérons ne pas nous taper tout le classique universitaire avec examen de sélection…

Ichigo forme un nouveau binôme avec Hiro mais ça ne fonctionne pas alors qu’ils devraient avoir davantage de force. Le pouvoir de l’amour, peut-être ?

Un Livre rafraichissant et accrocheur.

Vous pouvez vous fier à mon avis mais c’est encore mieux de vous en faire un par vous-même !! ;-) …

Un manga muy muy correcto al que le tenía ganas por lo que se venía diciendo. Hice bien en comprar de golpe los dos primeros tomos pues se leen rapidísimo. Más que por la historia es por la premisa que merece la pena tener este Darling in The Franxx. Robots MECHAS dirigidos por una pareja de adolescentes que se deben compenetrar a la perfección. La metáfora es tan evidente que se disfruta a cada segundo. Acecha algún conflicto de intereses entre el trío protagonista y poco más. Me gustó mucho que en el primer tomo empiezan ya a saco y entras como si fuera en la mitad de la historia, no te explican nada y te pasas todo el tomo sacando conclusiones. El arte sin duda de Kentaro Yabuki es de lo mejor y las páginas a color de la edición de Ivrea España se disfrutan y le dan un valor añadido a cada tomo. Con ganas de leer (aunque pienso que puede ser más pueril) el otro éxito de este autor TO LOVE RU.

Les dessins sont agréables et l'univers apocalyptique est intrigant. Le reste, c'est du gros robot, des trucs qu'on ne comprend pas et des filles dénudées (et des découpages de cases sur des parties du corps féminin...). A voir si les tomes suivants sont un peu plus travaillés scénaristiquement, mais ça se lit facilement.

Le manga est adapté d'un anime et ça se sent. Malgré un concept intéressant à la base, avec un univers dystopique et des robots géants, l'ensemble reste assez fade et mal développé. Les interactions entre les ados sont sympathiques, ils se questionnent progressivement sur leur rôle et leurs sentiments. Je les ai trouvés suffisamment distincts et attachants. Par contre, l'ensemble est très sexualisé. Certes, les dessins sont beaux, mais avoir des nus de filles gratuits dans tous les tomes était assez fatigant, d'autant que l'ensemble est sexualisé, même la gestion du mode de combat des robots. Ça reste des adolescents, donc c'est dérangeant en lecture adulte. La série se lit très vite et la fin était sympathique.

Manga adaptations of original anime aren't usually very good, and this is no exception. While I do like the anime a bit so far, I am not completely sold on it, and the manga I am even less impressed by. The art does look amazing, and I do enjoy the fanservice, but overall this feels a bit more hollow than the anime since it doesn't have as much time to simmer and develop the atmosphere and the characters. This might, however, be a good choice for those who think the anime is moving very slowly. Personally, I think the slow pace adds to the atmosphere, and that is where the manga loses me.

It was.. ok. La edición del tomo es un bellezon. Pero no esperaba tanto ecchi.. no se si esa fue la idea original y en el anime no se pudo hacer o esto es puro fan service. Tampoco esta mal eh. Sólo espero entender cosas que en el anime no me habían quedado claras del todo. Los dibujos son un diez también eh. Y a pesar de ser más voluptuoso que otros mangas se me hizo muy corto.
En fin, let’s see how it goes. Al fin y al cabo llevo años esperando este manga.

Vi primero el anime y luego leí el manga, la historia tiene grandes diferencias entre las decisiones que se toman, las consecuencias y el como llegan a ciertas conclusiones o decisiones.

El anime me pareció, en mi opinión, mucho mejor que el manga. Pero la historia del manga me pareció interesante y entretenida.

Think Pacific Rim but with x-rated fan service for some reason 💀 and they have to have male/female pair to fly the big suit of armor to protect their dome from big dinosaurs basically. I find it funny that they refer to the boy pilot as stamen and the girl pilot as a pistil.

Zeichnerisch gut aber nicht herausragend . Die Story ist identisch zum Anime, das pacing ist recht hoch. Die Mecha-Kämpfe (waren aber in dem Band nicht viele) kommen im Anime deutlich dynamischer rüber, hier fällt der Manga vergleichsweise ab. Der Fanservice ist zu viel und inhaltlich auch unnötig (besonders wenn man das Alter der Figuren bedenkt…)

Highlight des Manga ist sicher Zero Two, die anderen Figuren sind noch sehr blass.
