January 14, 2025I've read all 15 books from the Time Bubble series and, when I knew this was going to be the last, wondered how it was going to be ended.
Well, it was just right. If another book in the series was never written, I'd be happy with that ending. However, for me enough has been left open for the author to pick the series up again if he had some ideas in a few years time.
I've gone with the characters from children to old age (some passing away) and you get to feel like you know them all with all their foibles, strengths and weaknesses.
The past is created in such a vivid way to create clear memories of times we all think of fondly now but hates then even if you weren't from Oxford!
I would truly love these books to become some sort of mini-series especially as a "resting" amateur thesp who would love to play the parts of Richard or Henry!!!
The author has provided a wonderful series of books which I'm bound to revisit at some point and I'd encourage readers to give them a go.

As the novel's title implies, this book is in large part a sentimental retrospective as the fifteenth and final instalment in the Time Bubble series. The reader reviews and says goodbye to all the central characters. The author notes that it has been epic, ten years in the making. It begins with teenage Josh and Charlie discovering the first bubble and ends with the characters facing geriatric medical obstacles. But it is not only sentimental, there is action and suspense as the world faces the possible annihilation of the universe. I won't offer spoilers but I recommend the series as well worth reading.

A great conclusion to the Time Bubble series
As sad / annoying as endings are, I understand the author's reasons.
And it does allow me the opportunity to reread the series now to remind myself who did what with whom and to whom.
It is hard to leave a review without giving the storyline away, so all I can say is that the quality of writing is as good as ever and there are many familiar characters in this one. And anything that can work in a reference to flat earthers is pretty good in my view.
Now Mr Ayres needs to get on with the 1980s series please.

Aaaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhh! Then what happened??? I have been waiting desperately for the last book and it is incredibly satisfying and also so annoying. There is a great big plot device that needs resolution.
I know it’s the last book but I really hope this somehow gets revisited. So lovely to see most of the familiar faces doing well.

a brilliant finale
Loved the linking together of the story, and the opportunities that potentially still await.
The book really summarises the whole series and brings a fantastic conclusion.
I will miss the gang’s adventures but can honestly say the series has been a pleasure to read.

One of my favourite authors. It’s fitting that despite it being the last book of the series it also leaves the door open for 2035 revisited. Enjoyed all of Jason’s work 👏

the end
It’s been quite a journey. The later books maybe didn’t reach the heights of the early ones. I’d even go as far to say 10 was enough, but this was a nice way to pull it all together. Goodbye Josh and the gang, it’s been a blast.
