About the author

Breuna Walker

Breuna Walker is a poet who finds inspiration in life’s emotions, reflections, and experiences. An introvert at heart, she expresses herself best through words.

Beyond writing, she has a deep love and appreciation for art in all its forms. In her spare time, you’ll likely find her immersed in a book, lost in music, or watching anime.

Her latest book, "Soul Sessions", is a collection of haiku exploring love, liberation, heritage, and the changing seasons—capturing fleeting moments with depth and simplicity.

this is a short and simple, yet effective, poetry book.
i liked the ‘introduction’ where the author talks about her journey through healing and how she decided to organize her book to reflect this.
throughout the book you can really feel the author’s reflection on her journey.
I’d say the second part is my favorite, but my favorite poem is ‘endless night’.

Healing. This is a great book of shorter rhyming poems about the author’s self love journey. Great for anyone who is doing the same.

I have received a digital review copy from the author. This does not influence my opinion.

If you enjoy poetry collections that rhyme and reflect on many kinds of heartbreak as well as healing, this book might be for you.
As with all poetry collections, I related to some poems, but not to all. The themes were well chosen and the collection was very emotional overall.
Sadly, most poems switched their rhythm verse by verse, which made reading them less fluent and lyrical (I blame the limitations of the English language regarding sentence structure), so not rhyming might have been the better choice for some of the poems. Still, it was a nice change of pace from the poetry I usually read.
All in all a good collection, I look forward to seeing how this author develops her writing.

Glad I discovered Bruena Walker’s work today while browsing Kindle. She captures not only the struggle but the triumph. Her poetry is has vulnerability and strength. She has a couple of more collections that I’m excited to read.
