My name is Nia Washington. I'm a submissive. And I am f***ing tired.
I’m tired of men that claim to be a Dominant, but have no clue what it really means. I'm tired of men playing a part they saw on TV or read in a book, and using it to get what they want out of a woman before leaving her high and dry. I'm tired of men who don't know a single thing about boundaries, and I'm tired of them using BDSM as an excuse to abuse women. I'm tired of men that can't even take care of themselves, but claim to be able to take care of a submissive. I am so f***ing tired.
I'm also tired of the way my new boss looks at me when we’re at the office—the way he fixes his intimidating gaze on me and pins me in place with just a look. I’m tired of the perfect way his clothes fit his body, the exquisite way he grooms himself, and how everyone in the office moves out of his way like they're afraid, while also craving his approval and praise. I'm tired of the way he is the perfect example of everything I have been looking for in a Dom for far too long, and I'm so very tired of him not being mine.
I know he has secrets—a painful past that has hardened his heart—and I know he needs to heal from wounds no one can see. But if there was a checklist on how to be the perfect Dom, he would check every box. We’ve both been through far too much, but the way we fit together is too perfect to ignore. Now all I need to know is if he's as tired as I am of being alone.

I wish this book was more popular it was SO GOOD. Greer is such an amazing writer. I don’t normally read spicy books written by men just because I don’t come across them often but all of his books DELIVER!!! My fav so far. Greer definitely knows what a woman wants
There were so many topics covered in this book, where do we begin?
The immediate attraction between the main characters was palpable. And the growth and evolving love that eventually proceeded was *chefs kiss*
The pain and grief one of the main characters experienced made my chest heavy and tears were very close to being shed.
The friendships in the book were akin to the friendships I have experienced and made it feel so authentic.
BUT, let’s talk about the D/s dynamic… it was POWERFUL. It wasn’t just about pain and pleasure. It was truly about what a D/s dynamic is based on. The CARE and NUTURE truly shines through and boy was it as spicy as it was DEEP.
I’m in awe! This was amazing. It was emotional, sexy, heartfelt & realistic. WS always does his big one and that’s why I decide to keep picking up the books he pens.
I wanted to like this book so much more than I did. It started off so strong - I loved Nia and her initial presentation as a confident, strong, submissive woman, who was unwilling to lower her standards or allow her limits to be disrespected. I spent the first 50% of this book absolutely cheering her on. I did think that wobbled a little later on in the development of the romance, and there is a third act breakup, which I generally am not a fan of.
My problems with the book were two fold.
The first was that the love interest (the god-like Rome) was an emotional mess. The dead wife trope and “fear of falling in love and being heartbroken again” was fine - a little Hallmark, but believable. It was refreshing to see a male character that could actually express complex emotions in his own head, as well as in his conversation with his best friends. BUT… I cannot stand it when conflict could be solved with a simple conversation. The third act break-up is literally something that could have been avoided with a line or two of dialogue. And it wouldn’t have been as bothersome IF the book had not been trying so hard to demonstrate what a healthy BDSM relationship is “supposed” to look like, including VERY high levels of communication. Also, Nia’s initial reaction the big romantic gesture - “You humiliated me… And now you’re here putting me on the spot in front of my people” - WAS THE RIGHT REACTION. There should be more than one romantic speech - I would have demanded that a few couples counseling sessions be completed before there was even a hope of restoring the trust needed to resume dating again….
Which brings me to my second issue. The BDSM scenes were… disjointed. The emotional feel, the way that tension should build during a scene, follows a natural rhythm - yes, even for someone who is a masochist and can dive straight into pain. And the scenes, especially the one longer one from Rome’s POV, combine different elements of things that might be said or toys that might be used in real life between partners… but they felt out of order, like we were starting and stopping over and over. This may not be noticeable to the average reader - but anyone that I shared the scenes with in the lifestyle agreed that the emotional energy was all wrong. Like when the audio track is just a little delayed from the way the actors lips are moving. Pulled me right out of the story every time, and really lowered the spice level for me.
Overall, it is fairly well done, had a lot of positive things to show about realistic BDSM relationships, and I did enjoy the characters. It just fell a little flat for me, and the third act breakup felt like it detracted from the overall message of the story.
Thanks to The Author Agency and the author, WS Greer, for an advance copy of this book to review.
I loved this book so much!!! Nia is honestly my new hero, I thought she was such a great character! I honestly loved every single character in this book! The entire relationship dynamic in this is just sooo good! An incredible slow burn, workplace romance. I ate this up and left absolutely no crumbs behind!!
This is the best book I've read in a while! Definitely worth the 5 stars!
Nia has a specific type of man, one who will check off the boxes of what she believes is the perfect Dom. What should be easy, has been anything but. From wannabes to the absolute worst of what her what her type has to offer, she is ready to give up on ever finding him.
A change in staff at work is going to shake everything up. From the moment she sees the new owner, the spark is there. His eyes give him away, but when he fails to show any other classic signs, she might have the wrong idea. Maybe he isn't what she's been dreaming of. What do you do when you know there's something he's hiding from you, but he's also your boss?
This book has it all! Laughs angst and a side that will make you and your Kindle melt! The way the characters have to deal with their personal feelings and past trauma while navigating a world they are not sure of is very well written. I haven't read a book this steamy in a while, but I will definitely be reading more from this author!
A Good Girl's Guide to Dominance really blew me away!
Nia is a woman in search of her person, her Dom, the man that can make her feel safe and cherished and undeniably sexy and loved.
In comes Rome, her new boss. No one knows who he is and he is shrouded in secrets which he is drowning in. Will these secrets get in the way of him being possibly the one for Nia? Will they both finally find comfort with another and will Nia have her perfect Dom? You'll have to read to find out. 😉
Honestly though, this novel was fun and sexy, while also pulling on my heartstrings. I was not expecting the emotional depth that we dive into with loss and grief and the personal work it takes to grow from unforeseen circumstances. The way WS Greer puts a healthy spotlight on BDSM and what you SHOULD be looking for was such a pleasure to read.
Thank you for writing such a great piece! This is the second WS Greer novel I've read and I can't wait to read more! 💛
Thank you to The Author Agency and WS Greer for the gifted ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I LOVED IT! This is my first WS Greer book and I’m down for them all! Let me tell you…HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT when he wrote this one! 👏🏻 I appreciated the openness throughout the story about what a healthy BDSM relationship should be.
Nia is so sick of finding Dom wannabes. She is about to give up when her new boss walks in the door and they have it out. Rome is a smoke show and checks all the boxes! I read this book SO FAST and I’m craving another one! I had plenty of emotion throughout the book, along with it being on the fun side and sexy.
W. S. Greer is a new author to me. Although I came into it without any preconceived ideas regarding his world-building or characters, I had a few thoughts of my own concerning dominance. Mr. Greer's world-building automati ally put me in a place that was comfortably relatable. Both Rome, our main male character, and Nia, our main female character, have strong, beautifully flawed personalities, which only enhanced the feeling of knowing them personally. Their personal growth through the book was visible, which brought the story that much closer. Even the side characters were fully developed and participating throughout. This was an unexpected surprise that has left me wanting to read another of his works to see if lightning strikes twice.
I could not put this book down! If it’s written by WS Greer you’re gonna want to read it. This is by far the most emotional book that WS Greer has written that I’ve read to date and it was absolutely amazing! It will have you in all your feels one minute and then fanning yourself from all the spice cause good lawd the spice is incredible! I don’t want to give spoilers but if you love a good workplace/office romance but also love when the woman is strong willed and knows what she wants in a Dom then this books for you!
Oh this was nice. This lovely. This was open. Nia was outside of normalcy to everyone else but didn’t care and didn’t compromise her beliefs and wants just to fit in or to be in a relationship. She wanted it her way and that is exactly what she got with every turn she took with Rome. Granted we all carry our own baggage and no one is without a trauma or 2, so that really rounded Rome out as a character for me. And as someone who spent 10 years grieving a lost love I felt his pain and hesitation in the pit of my soul. This was definitely a 5 star read for me.
This is my first male writing as a female book and wow, just wow. WS Greer absolutely hit this out of the park. This was a slow book, but absolutely in an amazing way. I love all the details, the friendships, and dynamics.
Nia is tired of guys who say they're dominant but don't really know what that means. She's on the hunt to find the perfect partner, and found it in Rome.
Rome and Nia learn to navigate loss, trust, compassion, negotiation, family, and business endeavors while developing their relationship.
The book shows BDSM in a more real and respectful way. It's not just about sex; it's about trust and respect in those relationships, and how to foster them.
This was my first WS Greer read and nervous is an understatement for how I felt going into a romance book written by a non-female writer. Was I right to be nervous? Yes, 100%. BUT knowing from WS Greer’s promotion of the book on TikTok I did know that this book was meant to explore the intricacies of BDSM and a D/s relationship.
I am not part of that community so I was genuinely interested to see how educational this book could be! And I would say that this book is 5/5 on educating and exploring the inner thoughts, feelings and emotions of being in the BDSM world and in looking for a D/s relationship. I learned so much! And loved seeing a strong female character who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to place down hard boundaries for what she wants in life and what she doesn’t. I could learn a lot from Nia and will take a lot away from this book and use it to grow in my own personal life.
I wish the authors note was at the beginning of the book because looking to attract new readers is going to be hard as a male in a female dominated genre and I think with knowing what his intentions were with this book I would have been much more accepting of the writing style/slow inner monologues that had me skim reading at times. Will CS Greer ever be able to stand up to a female romance writer? No. And I hope he never tries to because the Rome chapters were probably some of the most realistic I’ve ever read and can picture that actually be what is going on in a man’s head. HOWEVER….i was really disappointed with the diary portion, it felt like something a teenager would write about their high school crush not a 30/31 year old woman. I am 30 and found Nia entirely unrepeatable with how her inner dialogue rambled. Her actual conversational dialogue? LOVED IT QUEEN. But everything else just felt off for me. As well as the s*x scenes- the BDSM parts were great but the actual description of the act was lacking and had too much inner dialogue. If the s*x is so amazing there shouldn’t be any inner monologues going on….that really took me out of the moment. I would love to see WS Greer’s female character writing evolve and develop because if he can nail that down his books will be unstoppable!!
Overall, if you want to dabble with BDSM and what a real Dom should be PLEASE check out this book!! It is so educational and honestly has me questioning whether I should dip my toes in the water.
I am in complete awe of this book. I was excited to when I heard about it. I wasn't sure what to expect. Let me tell you what. This book did not disappoint in the least.
I have read BDSM romances before, but this one takes the cake. It has everything you need and more.
The chemistry between Nia and Rome was out if this world. The slow burn was just what this book needed. This book had my emotions all over the place. I laughed, I cried, and yes, I almost, yes I said almost, threw my phone while reading it.
You get lost in the story and never want to come up for air and face reality. This was a 20 star read. I can not praise WS Greer enough.
I'm telling you people, if you haven't read any of his books you need to. He is amazing and he k iws his stuff. He will forever be one of my favorite spicy romance authors. Cheers to WS. 🖤🖤
I have devoured books by WS Greer in a single session many times. This one took me daysss to get through. Why, you ask? Hunny… a time was HAD.
When I ask for recommendations of books that will make me blush, toss my phone, & take a water break? THIS is exactly what I’m asking for.
I need y’all to get into this expeditiously.
Nia is such a bad bitch. She knows EXACTLY what she wants & refuses to settle for less. Rome… Daddy Rome could tell me to hand wash my car in Winter & I’d gladly do it.
"Say it again. I want to watch that mouth of yours beg me to let you come.” 🥵
It’s giving: Alpha male. Strong FMC. D/s dynamic. Office romance. Return of some Philly players. Slow burn but more like a slow bonfire. BDSM.
Nia has been searching for so long for a true Dom, but has just about given up. The men she's been meeting may SAY they're Dominant, but when push comes to shove, they're so not even close. Then her new boss strides into her life and her heart, and Rome's everything she's been yearning for. But he has so much damage left on his soul from a past loss, that she might just have to take what she can get from him, which isn't everything, because he cannot love another woman, ever. Or so he says...
Rome's world has been thrown off kilter ever since he laid eyes on one of his newest employees, Nia. He knows she's submissive, but he can't touch her. Fraternizing with an employee in the company he just bought is not a good way to start off. But he can't resist her any longer. Do they stand a chance in hell with a forbidden relationship that can't possibly be, because of his baggage?
My heart! I know, I know...normally BDSM fiction does not get to me in the heart the way Rome and Nia's story did. He had so much pain in his heart and it had left him cold for so long, that he didn't know what to do when Nia started making him feel again. I wanted to give the big ol Dom a big ol hug when his backstory started coming out. I loved his character, but it's Nia I really fell for. Her character is so strong, just searching high and low for the Dom and man she wanted. Then she found him in a man whose soul was so scarred that she feared he'd never be able to give her what she deserved, what he deserved. This is the first story by this author that I've read, but after this, I'm a fan for life!
ARC provided by The Author Agency for an honest review.
This was my first book by the author and while i enjoyed it, there were things that didn't make it quite a 4 star read for me.
I really like Nia. Shes' a strong woman who knows what she wants and goes after it - in her career and in her personal life. She just keeps meeting the wrong guys. In walks Rome and he's everything she's been looking for. Or is he? I didn't mind that he was an emotional mess, because I quite like tourtured heroes, especially ones who experience growth and healing by the end of the story, which Rome did. I loved how protective he was of her and how he supported her. Their attraction was instant and it just grew over time. I loved the tension.
The BDSM aspects of the story were quite interesting to see, as someone who doesn't read many books like that. In fact, it was one of the reasons I was interested in reading this. I wanted to read a book about the lifestyle, writing by someone in the lifestyle. I was also curious to read a romance novel written by a man.
This book was written mainly from Nia's point of view, but we get a few chapters in Rome's POV, when he's not with Nia which I really apprecaited. It gave us insight into his character that we would not otherwise have. We also saw Nia's thoughts through diary entries, which is one of the issues i had with this book. those chapters were repetitive. We'd get her thoughts in the moment, while things were happening. and then in the next chapter, we'd get a diary entry telling us what we already know. So I just started skimming over them. there were also a couple of times Rome would recount a scene we'd already seen in Nia's POV, with more detail than nessesary before letting us in on his thoughts and feelings about it.
The other thing I didn't particulary like was the 3rd act break up. As a concept, i don't love it or hate it, but in this case I didn't like the way it was written. It came in after the 80% mark and so the resolution was rushed. this would also have been a good place to see therapy rep. You don't just get over that kind of grief through sheer force of will, even with the help of your friends. As someone who struggles with mental health issues and Knows the value of therapy, this disappointed me.
All that being said, this was an interesting introduction to W.S. greer's writing and I'm interested in trying out another of his books, I Love To Hate You.
*I received an advance copy from The Author Agency, and these opinions are entirely my own.
Nia is losing hope, a submissive looking for a Dom, yet finding nothing but disappointment when meeting men off dating apps. When her new boss starts giving her the Dom vibes she's been needing, the chemistry between the two is undeniable, but the past lurks, adding a whole other level to this story. You'll laugh, you'll tear up, and you may even curse at your Kindle (I know I did). I'll get a physical copy when it comes out because this is one of those stories you can read repeatedly and fall in love with the characters more each time.
The characters, from Nia's best friends to Nia and Rome, are well-written and relatable. I love the found family vibes, especially between Nia and Lex, because it is such a sweet best-friend relationship, and it made the story so much better. Nia's struggle, whether you are in the BDSM community or not, is something we can all connect to, how much we all are put through in the dating game. I loved the addition of her diary pages because they added such a fun twist to the story and served as a guide for her heartbreak, frustrations, hopes, and love. I loved her dynamic of being a sub, but knowing her strengths and power. Rome is my favorite character, not only because he is a Dom in the best kind of ways but also because he was written with so much depth. Reading about his struggles, learning to cope after loss, and the fact that he not only embraces the Dom role but is also willing to be emotional makes me love him. His character was everything to me because I think it sets an important precedent that men who share emotions and vulnerabilities are strong. It doesn't make them less attractive or inferior.
Told in the first person but from multiple POVs, this slow-burn romance had me at the edge of my seat. The spice was so good, and the passion and dynamics between the characters was so well thought out. It is a story about weeding through the toads to find who you're meant to be with; that loss isn't linear and shows what we will do to be with the one's we love. The HEA is hard-earned, but this story will stick with me for a long time.
I also have to point out that I am so excited to see BDSM rep that is accurate to the lifestyle. There are different types of Doms out there, just as there are subs, and to see representation of what one relationship could look like is so cool; their relationship is perfect for the two of them. I can't wait to see what Greer writes next.
🌟Workplace Romance 🌟BDSM 🌟Tragic Past 🌟Grief/Loss 🌟Found Family 🌟Healing 🌟Banter 🌟Dual POV 🌟🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
*A Good Girl’s Guide to Dominance* is a phenomenal read, rich in human emotion and layered with complexity. I devoured every page, captivated by the authenticity and depth of the characters and the offering of a realistic portrayal of a D/s (Dominant/submissive) relationship dynamic.
Nia is a fantastic character. She’s fiery, kind, and knows exactly what she’s seeking as a submissive, which makes her emotional and mental frustration of not finding a compatible partner feel incredibly real. Her intelligence and boldness shine through in every moment, and though she is a submissive, that does not imply docile weakness. I admired her strong backbone. Nia’s courage to speak her mind and maintain her sense of self, even while navigating the challenging nuances of her desires, made her a compelling character from start to finish.
Rome, on the other hand, is a beautifully tragic character. His immense grief, stemming from past losses, was palpable throughout the story, and his attempts to guard his heart against further devastation were heartbreakingly understandable. Despite his steely exterior, Rome is far from one-dimensional. He’s a perfect counterpart to Nia’s submissiveness, embodying strength and masculinity while also revealing a genuine care for her that adds warmth to his character. I appreciated how the author allowed Rome to display the full breadth of human emotion, making him feel authentic rather than just a typical "alpha" figure.
The chemistry between Nia and Rome is intense and intoxicating. Their connection sizzles, and watching them grow together—communicate, set boundaries, and build trust—was incredibly satisfying. Their sexual relationship is undeniably scorching, but what also stood out was the emotional roots underpinning it. My heart shattered for both of them when things came crashing down. The raw devastation they experienced had me in tears, and I felt deeply invested in their journey.
The found family aspect in this book is equally spectacular. Nia’s and Rome’s friends were a delightful addition, offering humor, support and encouragement. Jeremiah, one of Nia’s closest friends, was my absolute favorite. The way their friends rallied around them during moments of intense pain and heartache added so much to the story. The witty banter and clever dialogue helped balance the heavy emotional load.
One of the standout aspects of the book was its depiction of a realistic D/s relationship as accurate to the lifestyle as the story would allow. The author took great care to explore themes of consent, communication, and trust in an authentic way. I learned so much through this story that dispelled many misconceptions I had about the D/s dynamic. The emphasis on the Dom earning the privilege of the submissive was especially impactful, and it helped me realize the power the submissive holds in the relationship.
*A Good Girl’s Guide to Dominance* is an emotionally rich, eye-opening, and incredibly spicy read. With its compelling characters, intricate exploration of D/s relationships, and powerful emotional journey, I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it.
This is a contemporary romance with a side of BDSM, as it focuses more on the nuances of cultivating and maintaining a D/s relationship, including the importance of consent, the power of the Sub, and open communication, rather than the sex itself. When the spice hits though, it hits hard. You’re looking at quality over quantity in this book. Nia and Rome had great chemistry, and the slow burn was tortuous in the best way. Also, this is an office romance written well.
I enjoyed how strong Nia was and that she refused to settle for less than she wanted and deserved both in her personal and professional life. Total girl empowerment. What I loved though, was seeing a strong male character break and get lost in his feelings, while unabashedly crying. Reading about Rome’s grief was an emotional journey. Reading about male grief without any toxicity attached was refreshing as it was heartbreaking. Rome felt authentically masculine. Having said that though, the 3rd act breakup frustrated me; Rome frustrated me. For emphasizing the importance of communication, Rome’s deviation from his calm and rational character so decidedly in that moment when he broke things off, really threw me. I understand it’s supposed to represent that everyone is flawed and makes mistakes, but the failure to communicate properly, or at least put a pause and not be hasty with decision-making, pulled me a bit out of the story. His 5 years of grief ran soul-deep, and they as a couple needed more than love and the strength of will to get past Rome’s fear and grief. The ending felt a bit rushed because of this attitude that love and determination will fix all. His final goodbye to his late wife was a good step, but I wish it was at least mentioned that he would go to therapy. The love of a good woman isn’t enough to help a deeply wounded man.... ok I'm off my soapbox now.
Overall, this story is a great exploration of two people coming together and finding alignment in their desires and needs within a D/s relationship, while also navigating the complexities of healing from loss and grief.

We’re gonna call it 3.5 ⭐️ but round up since GoodReads doesn’t do halves.
Thanks so much to the Author Agency and WS Greers team for an early copy of this! ❤️
I have a lot of thoughts on this one. Rome is a kinda an alphahole initially. Nia is a 31 year old woman clearly written by a man- because no one that age is writing a diary with hearts in it and complaining about boys. Most plot points were pretty predictable- an office romance with the boss where everyone finds out and things get weird. Nia really is just going through it as she tries to use every kinky online dating app to find someone to settle down with. The backstory of Rome was a tough one for sure. I couldn’t imagine going through all of that. His character growth was fucking hard but worth following through to see the ending and the growth he goes through. The ending scene with Rome makes up for the initial bad vibes for sure- I cried in the break room at work and I’m not even ashamed to admit that. The spice was SPICING for sure. (Not sure why every dungeon in these books is in the basement but y’all do you I guess.)If you’re into impact play you’ll love this one.
I was obsessed with kingdom when I read it, and I was super excited to read more of WS Greers books- but this one really missed the mark in some ways. If the miscommunication (or honestly just lack of communication at all) trope isn’t for you I’d probably skip this one. I have some strong thoughts on the authors constant posts/videos about his books being accurate representations of BDSM when the story has some MAJOR red flags throughout- the story lacked early communication on things like safe words and limits, all of which should be discussed BEFORE the heat of the moment. It offsets this by having Rome being extra cautious and making her say what she wants- but that’s still not the best because god knows all those hormones make you agree to shit you wouldn’t normally do. I wish kindle highlights/notes on early releases transferred to GoodReads because boy did I let it all out in those!
Ultimately, the story is cute and if you go into it expecting it to not be the perfect example of kinky shenanigans you’ll probably love it.

My thoughts This was a flash into my own single life at the beginning. UGH
I love the MCs together and how they worked thru everything.
Nia Washington is a successful marketing director, respected by her superiors and colleagues. A true boss lady. She's also a self-professed, out, loud, and proud submissive, but is having a tough time finding the right Dom. After enduring some bad experiences, she won't be discouraged, and knows the right man for her is out there...somewhere.
Rome Giovanni is the new owner of the marketing firm where Nia works. He’s dealing with painful memories while learning the ropes of owning a new business. When Nia meets him, she finds him very attractive. Rome is equally drawn to Nia, but he can't cross that line at work.
As they work together on a marketing proposal and spend more time together, their attraction for one another is getting harder to fight. Until they don’t. When they learn they’re both in the lifestyle, this is where things really heat up. The chemistry between Rome and Nia was almost instant, and they’re giving us plenty of heat. I loved how this couple learned more about each other as their feelings and trust grew. As their D/s relationship blossomed, it wasn’t just the physical aspect of their dynamic. They also nurtured one another emotionally and spiritually.
I felt the story moved kinda slow in the beginning, and Nia's struggles and other parts of the book were a bit repetitive. But once things picked up, I enjoyed Rome and Nia’s journey to their HEA. Yes, the physical part of their relationship is strong, but they have so much more. I felt they were destined, and their meeting happened at the right time for both of them.
This is my first WS Greer book, and I am not gonna lie, I was a little nervous about it. Like many other female readers, I was a little wary about reading a romance book written by a man, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised.
Nia is a 30-year-old sub looking for a Dom to have a serious relationship with, without any success. All she keeps finding are wannabe Doms or men who think that being a Dom is just a role you play every once in a while and not a lifestyle. Rome is, by all intents and purposes, the perfect Dom for Nia. He checks all of the boxes for what she's looking for in a Dom and more. There are only 2 problems, one being that he is her new boss and the other being that he has a very complicated past that has made him afraid of loving.
The story was very insightful when it came to the BDSM lifestyle, and it was written in a way that was easy to follow and understand, even for people who are not part of this lifestyle. I loved how, with Nia, the author taught us that it's ok to know what we want and that we shouldn't settle for anything less. It was also very interesting to see how Rome dealt with his grief and the fear that he developed from losing almost everyone that he's ever loved and to see that moment of realization, where he notices that he's about to lose someone else he loves, but this time due to his fear of getting close to others.
Quote: “Fuck fear. I'd rather risk it all for us, than live a full life knowing I gave up on the best thing to ever happen to me. Fear will not keep my love for you at bay.”
I absolutely loved A Good Girl's Guide to Dominance! Nia’s character really spoke to me—she’s strong, independent, and knows exactly what she wants. It was refreshing to see a heroine who isn’t afraid to demand more than just surface-level dominance.
Nia’s diary entries added depth, exposing her vulnerability and fear that she’d never find a Dom who truly saw her. I felt her struggle her inner dialogue captured the perfect blend of fear and excitement, making her emotional journey raw and relatable.
And Roman? Oh, he’s everything I want in a Dom—protective, intense, and with just the right amount of broody backstory to keep things interesting. His tragic past adds depth to his character, evoking a range of emotions that had me feeling everything.
...are seriously spine-tingling. The way Roman commands not just Nia’s body but her very soul... it's intoxicating.

Nia Washington is a 30 year old Marketing Director and a submissive looking for her perfect Dom. After a couple failed dates with fake Doms, in walks Rome Giovanni. From his clothes to his body language, he screams Dom. She can’t take her eyes off him.
Rome Giovanni, 35 years old and the new Chief Marketing Officer of Sandcastle. Being a Dom is who Rome is, it runs through his veins. When he meets Nia, and later when she tells him she is a submissive, he wants to be her everything. But will he be able to let go of his past and build a future with the beautiful dark skinned woman he’s just met?
First off, I just want to say thank you to WS Greer for writing a character in her 30s. A mature woman, who knows what she wants, who is established, and who doesn’t put up with any BS. As someone in her 30s (creeping up on 40s) I love reading about a woman who knows what she likes and who will wait to give it to the right person. I also enjoyed getting scenes from the male perspective as well, men and women’s heads are totally different during the deed.
This book had me in a chokehold. I felt like I was Nia and I was enjoying the scenes just as much as she was. I would definitely recommend this book to those who are just starting their journey into Dark Romance books or BDSM books. It's just dark enough to make you feel the intensity of the scene but tastefully written to where you still feel the respect between the two main characters.
