Wylie Cameron doesn’t do relationships. Neither does Stevie Vector. Which is why their one-night stand was supposed to stay just that—one night. No strings. No complications.
But when Wylie shows up unannounced at her doorstep hundreds of miles away and finds her with someone else, he draws a line in the never again.
Only, “never again” turns into “how the hell is she in my house?” Stevie ends up back in his hometown, living under his roof, helping her sister—his sister-in-law—launch a new business.
He doesn’t want anything to do with her. She definitely doesn’t want anything to do with him. Until they both need something only the other can give.
I didn’t think much could surprise me anymore. Life on the ranch was wake up, work hard, drink harder, maybe find a girl to keep the bed warm. No strings, no mess.
Then my dad blindsided me. He’s retiring, and if I want the deed to the ranch, there’s a I have to get married—and stay married—for one full year. It’s old-school. It’s ridiculous. It’s non-negotiable.
I was out of options, until the last woman I ever expected said yes. She won’t tell me why. I’m not sure I want to know. It’s just a business arrangement… until it isn’t. And suddenly, I’m risking everything for the one woman I swore I’d never fall for.
This is book 2 in the Cameron Cowboys series and can be read as a true standalone.
Listen I love an enemies to lovers AND a marriage of convenience. This book hit all the best parts of both tropes. ESPECIALLY THE I NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM YOU BUT I CAN'T. Wylie and Stevie were some of my favorite characters from the first book in this series. Wylie is just the best older brother who holds the family together even when he himself is not doing great. This combined with Stevie being a great sister who just wants the best for her family and will always stick up for her people. Great read!
💍 Marriage of convenience 🏡 Small-town charm ✨ Second chances 🔥 Tension-filled romance 👨👩👧👦 Heartwarming family themes
I love a quick and easy swoon-worthy read. At 214 pages, you can finish this book in a couple hours. I’m a sucker for a marriage of convenience, especially when it benefits both parties. Except in this one, we clearly know why HE needs a marriage, but she’s kept hidden why she’s on board.
This has such small town charm. The banter between Stevie and Wylie is 💋chef’s kiss💋.
This was a slow burn romance. There was some danger aspects surrounding the lead female character Stevie aka Bandit. A person from her past that held something over Stevie. The lead male character Wylie was alpha and confident. I enjoyed the close relationship between him and his father and brothers. Wylie and Stevie’s siblings were getting married, when they hooked up. Although it was supposed to be a one time thing, the attraction lingered and was too strong to ignore. I am not a fan of a slow burn romance but for those of you that are, it was a good storyline.
Cute premise albeit a bit unrealistic. It's a relatively quick read but for someone so feisty I'm not sure why she let herself be manipulated for so long.
