A Remarkable Story of Courage
Art Wilson had no training or background to work with gangs in Chicago and share Christ. GANGS, GUNS & GOD is the engaging and page-turning true story. As Wilson writes in the early pages of this book, “It amazed me how God changed my heart toward gangs. Before He called me to this ministry, my wife, Vicky, reminded me about my past attitude toward them. I always thought, “They should get what they deserve.” And “Gangs need to be locked up, and throw away the key.” The Lord had broken my heart for them, and I had a burden and love for them that defied explanation.: (Page 4)
This book is full of inspiration—even the name of the ministry and book: “One night, while sleeping in my room in Chicago, the Lord woke me up. In my spirit, He gave me the name of His ministry. It was to be called GANG RESCUE. GANG would be an acronym for Gangs Also Need God.” RESCUE would be an acronym for “Reach Every Single Child Upon Earth.” (Page 45)
I highly recommend this short book to show you a bold way to proclaim Jesus to others.
