As Atar is mine to destroy, so Keilee will be yours. But first, we must utterly ruin them.
Keilee is done with the gods. After she discovers Ares, the goddess of war, has been manipulating her heroes with magical artifacts, Keilee abandons the Amazons to make her own way in the world. The North Guard seems like the perfect place to make a name for herself – and get revenge on the gods and their heroes for their betrayal.
Atar served as Zeus’s hero for many years, but when Olympia was destroyed, his allegiances shifted. Now, he lives on the border of Olympia, patiently waiting for the chance to strike at the heroes and gods who ruined him. So when Keilee appears and offers her services, Atar decides it is time to act. But before he can, Zeus returns to Olympia with a new hero, Atar’s brother, intent on destroying him for breaking his oath to Zeus.
Tensions rise and both sides view the other as their enemy. War seems inevitable. But a war between brothers and gods spells ruin for Olympia…and the gods aren’t scared to play dirty to win.
This standalone adventure is perfect for fans of Olympia, Greek mythology, romance, and underdog stories.
The gods and goddesses have an agenda, but not everyone is interested in being a puppet any longer. War settles but brings on a new enemy, The North Guard. Tensions rise, ambitions boil, and blood will be shed, but who will win and how?
I binged this book in two days because I literally could not put it down, it was amazing!
I loved the mythology, and the concept of two realms/worlds where everything exists but is interconnected. The heated dynamics of so many characters sucks you in! The multiple points of view gives you this in-depth connection to the characters thoughts and feelings, but also lets you see sides missed by others in this epic fantasy.
There is political maneuvering, war, betrayal, and redemption. You get strangers to lovers, family to enemies, and some slow sweet romance. There are allegiances and struggles for power that felt straight out of mythology in the perfect way.
The writing is well done, and the world building is too, in addition to the mystical aspects you notice related to the deities and the mortal dilemmas.
This book can serve as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading them as a series, you’ll get so much more from it and you’ll get hooked! The first book is Olympia, and let me tell you I binged it too! It is just as amazing, but it also gives you a basis for almost all the characters in The North Guard novel. So yea standalone is ok to do, but frankly series is much better method.
I highly recommend this book, it blew me away! I’m aching for a third book!
4⭐️ // 0🌶 // ✨️slow burn romance✨️ This Greek mythology novel is now a favorite of mine. A book where gods, heroes, and mortals clash in a high-stakes battle. Kielee and Atar form an alliance against the gods, each driven by a need for freedom from the divine manipulation.
Their romance unfolds naturally despite the chaos, showing a softer side to two fierce fighters. I felt that the story really captures the intense personal struggle of losing faith in those once revered, making each victory feel deeply meaningful.
The ending was devastating —after Atar’s victory over his brother, Zeus’s brutal response to that victory which resulted in Keilee losing her husband, is a shocking reminder of the gods’ ruthless power and their ability to manipulate without remorse.
I hope to see more of these characters soon.
I appreciate the opportunity to read this as an ARC.
Better than the first book, but felt like a rushed sequel. The romance, which was a big part of the story, never captivated me at all. The pacing had improved, but never had me wanting more. The characters I cared for more than in the first book, but never truly was fully attached to them. A small part of the story but I was confused when Atar killed the gods, are not gods better than men? Keep writing Eva! Your improving!
this was everything that I was looking for in a sequel to the Chronicles of Chaos series. The plot worked well overall and enjoyed getting back to this world. The characters had a strong overall feel and loved the Greek mythology to this world. I wanted to read more in this world and from Eva Grace.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed reading this book. Keillee is such a strong character who wants nothing more to do with the gods. She leaves the Amazons to find her own way and make her own name. Her journey grabs you and keeps you flipping pages. Well written and beautifully executed!
This was an adventure worth not putting down. The well crafted storyline literally made the book a quick read. I thought it was interesting this could be read as a standalone.
