Childish, simplistic style. No character development. Couldn't get past the first few pages.

It's an odd short story a police inspector in the Bronx and has uncovered 4 murders of men who were at a certain school in 1965, and that the style of all these killings was that of a professional hit man, a soldier most likely who had some bad connection to them, it reads a bit like a school project and the ending is saying that even men who commit murder can expect to get off scot free.

I read this book to about 7% according to KU. The way the author introduced the protagonist was so in my face that I just felt the conflict was being forced. No subtelty. It was to the point where I didn't want to know what happened because it seemed too contrived.
