The Silvers at Silver Island #1

Flirting with Trouble: Wells Silver

Rate this book
Forgetting playboy Wells Silver was supposed to be easy. If only he didn’t make it impossible. Secrets are made on the sandy shores and in the sweet small towns of Silver Island, where friendships run deep, passions run hot, and the sexy Silvers are considered island royalty. Love in Bloom novels are written to stand alone and may also be enjoyed as part of the larger series, so dive right in and devour this fun, steamy romance.

Being born into the Silver empire comes with certain expectations, but charming restaurant owner Wells Silver has always taken pleasure in breaking the rules—in his personal and his professional life.

Victoria Braden never expected to become a widow at thirty-two, much less still be trying to figure out how to move on five years later. She’d planned to drown her sorrows in alcohol on what would have been her anniversary, not flirt with trouble and lose herself in a night of passion with Silver Island royalty, playboy Wells Silver. Forgetting Wells was supposed to be easy. But apparently the pushy player didn’t get the memo.

This was another beautiful example of why Melissa is one of my favourite authors.

The emotion, the passion, and the exquisite heartfelt moments that can only be found in one of her romance novels are all captured between the pages of this gorgeous book.

Wells & Victory have to be added to my top 5. This romance had everything I needed from a love after loss, slow burn romance, and then some.
I highly recommend grabbing it immediately.

I loved everything about this book.

This book is a journey of rediscovery love through two different perspectives-each having loved before, now learning to open their hearts once more. You will be cheering these two on the whole time!

Wells has been infatuated with Victory since he met her but she has shot him down every time. Victory runs her late husbands company, Blank Space Entertainment. She is a ruthless business woman. She has been on auto-pilot since his death five years prior. Wells came to NYC to scout for a new location for his restaurant to expand. What he wasn't expecting was to see Victory sitting in a bar alone drinking. Wells that charmer that he is, approaches Victory and slowly starts chipping away at the wall she has built around herself. The relationship between these two slowly progresses with time. Wells realizes that she still holds back but finds ways to make sure she notices him. He does not want to replace her late husband, he just wants to be there for her and learn. Victory learns more about herself through this progression, realizing she misses the old her.

I love the reformed playboy of Wells character. He was absolute perfection. He put himself out there for Victory to show her that he was serious about her. Loyal, outgoing, funny, gorgeous, and FILTHY MOUTH. Victory finally let herself be happy again. Her family and Wells was there to support her through it all at her pace.

The Silvers and Bradens are the best supporting cast in this book. The siblings will always step up for each other. Silver Island pranks are always the best.

I literally cannot say enough good things about this book. There was so much heart and watching this relationship grow did me in. This is a top must read.

Tropes:
💛Small town
💛Age gap (She's older)
💛Wealthy restaurateur
💛Cutthroat CEO
💛She's a widow
💛Second chance at love
💛Emotional and angsty
💛Going to need a dip in the pool SPICE

I love a good reverse age gap and this one did not disappoint.

Wells is a filthy mouth, sweet talking, playboy who has his sights set on Victoria. Victoria is beautiful and classy CEO of her late husband company. She has not dated in the last 5 years since he has passed either. She has just been on autopilot since he had passed. She is just running the company and that’s about it. Wells is determined to show her how to LIVE again.

When the two of them are together it’s electric in all the best ways. He brings her to life and makes her remember what it’s like. He reminds her what her passion was like scouting again. He has her feeling giddy again, smiling, laughing, and wanting to leave work early. And he is not the playboy that he once was. Everyone has it wrong. She has him wanting things he never thought he would ever want. These two are so cute together. You can’t help but root for them. Wells pulls out all the stops to show her just how much he wants this with her and how serious he is.

His pickup lines will have you cracking up, swooning and that mouth in you will have you dripping. But can she ever allow herself to have it? Can she move on or will she let the guilt stop her from having it all with Wells?

Hello Wells Silver! He immediately won me over with his confidence and flirtiness and his determination to get to know Victory. Victory’s got pretty high walls, and Wells was determined to knock them down. Wells melted my heart with how he acknowledged Victory’s late husband and got to know him. I loved Wells’ patience and was living for the various names he came up with for days they would spend time together. I loved Victory finding love again (she deserves all the love and happiness), and I loved Wells being the one to bring her back to life. So good!!

---

Another book by this author that brought smiles to my face, yes, smiles, because the story of Victory and Wells is one of those that leaves you daydreaming about finding someone who loves you and fights for you like Wells did for Victory.

From the beginning, we know that the story is going to hit hard, and this is mainly because of the baggage that Victory and her late husband carry (something we see from previous books) with all the grief she faces, and it's a VERY fundamental part of the story. When she meets Wells, from the first moment he tries to get her to like him, and I think we can say that from the first moment he saw her, he fell in love with her. I liked seeing the dynamic between the two because it felt real, it felt cute, and above all, it felt exciting reading every quote, every word from Wells to Victory, everything felt right.

Okay, not everything is rosy, and there is a little bit of drama, but it is necessary for the plot of the story, and I liked how it was handled. Without a doubt, this book felt like a hug to my heart. The romance was beautiful, and Victory's overcoming of each stage was the best part of reading this book.

📌 I received an e-arc, and this is my honest opinion/review of it.

Flirting With Trouble: Wells Silver is the first book in a brand new series, The Silvers at Silver Island, adding the latest bookish branch to the Silver Island tree by the one and only Melissa Foster. The focus? Wells Silver.

This is a standalone read within an interconnected series, within the Silver Island world. Reading this story will lend itself to revealing information from other books also featuring the island, without spoiling major plot points. You'll meet other characters from the other stories so if you wish to get to know more about them before jumping in here, you can do so.

Or, you can dive into their stories after getting to know Wells and Victoria here in theirs. Whatever you pick, you're always guaranteed a wonderful reading experience with Melissa Foster.

Other reads featuring Silver Island can be read under The Steeles at Silver Island and the following novels: Maybe We Will (Silver Harbor), Maybe We Should (Silver Harbor), Maybe We Won’t (Silver Harbor), Searching for Love (Bradens & Montgomerys) & Bayside Fantasies (Bayside Summers).

As a long-time reader of Melissa's, I have read most of the books that feature or mention Silver Island or one of its current or former inhabitants. The place is familiar to me, as much as a fictional place can to a reader, and I'm thrilled to be making the journey back there once more both literally (on the page) and with ex-islander, Wells Silver and his lady, Victoria Braden.

If that last name feels familiar to you, it's because it is well known among Melissa's readers. To read all about the Braden Brood, check out both The Bradens & The Bradens and Montgomerys series' respectively.

For now though, it's all eyes on the present and latest main characters to get their own story, Wells Silver and Victoria Braden.

Forgetting a playboy should be easy. Except for when said playboy is one Wells Silver making it impossible to do so. Back on the stunning, sandy shores and sweet, small towns of Silver Island, secrets were made, friendships were formed and run deep, passions run hotter than hot, capped off with the silver-spooned, Silver Island royalty that are the Silvers.

Certain expectations not only come with being born into the Silver Empire, they weigh heavy on the shoulders of restaurant owner Wells Silver. Those expectations, however, aren't the end of the world. He takes immense pleasure in not only testing limits, but bending and breaking the rules and requirements expected of him. This resistance to conformity and class aren't restricted to his professional life, they bleed into both that and his personal one.

Life comes with many unexpected moments, which Victoria Braden can attest to in a very big way. She never expected to be a widow, let alone one at the young age of thirty-two. Five years on from her devastating loss, she's still trying to figure out in both her head and her heart just how to move on from it. On the next anniversary of the passing of her former husband, she plans on marking the occasion by drowning her many sorrows in alcohol. Even the most carefully--or loosely, in this case--constructed plans can fail due to unforeseen circumstances. A night that should have been found at the bottom of a bottle is instead filled with flirting and passion with a member of the Silver Island royal family. The one and only, Wells Silver.

Forgetting him after their night together should have been straightforward. Easy. "Should have". She didn't count on the pushy playboy pushing back and not getting the memo.

What a welcome back to the Silver Island world!. Although the events of Wells & Victoria's story take place mainly off the island, we're still getting all that we love about the place while off its sandy shores. They carry the spirit of both the island and in Wells' case, the Silver family, with them as they navigate their lives once more back within each other's orbits, their budding relationship and meant-to-be romance. Wells and Victoria have been in our sights for the longest time, flitting in and out of various other stories as romance after romance played out before our eyes and at last, it was their turn. Their moment in the spotlight. Melissa was right to take her time getting to this point because what we were treated to? It was worth the wait to get here for such an intense, romantic, emotionally immersive story.

Specifically emotionally immersive? Victoria's loss. Whether it be the loss of a husband, parent or grandparent, her grief and dealing with the loss radiated from the page and into my own heart. Dealing with a loss myself--almost nine months on--, I empathised with all that she felt at the time and all the days and weeks thereafter. Melissa represented this loss with such grace and empathy, understanding and care, I wish I could reach through the screen and hug her for it.

Wells and Victoria's dance around one another was far from easy or simple, but we love the messiness that comes with people finding their feet and their footing both as individuals, and as a couple. Their romance was always meant to be and seeing them navigate what they've always known deep down that was on the cards for them both, I turned every page with a smile (or a tear, during those times when it was appropriate to grab a tissue), coming to the end of the book feeing as happy as they did when getting their long-awaited Happily Ever After.

Melissa has delivered to us an extremely promising start to this new series within a wonderful bookish world. If this is the calibre of romance we're going to be getting with each set of main characters, I have a strong feeling that what will come out way will be equally as so if not more.

Its au revoir to Wells and Victoria, and all eyes on billionaire Fitz Silver & wild child, Jennifer Stone.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Melissa Foster does it again. In Flirting with Trouble, she delivers a heartfelt and swoon-worthy romance set against the charming backdrop of Silver Island. With lovable characters, sizzling chemistry, and an emotional journey that tugs at the heart. This is an engrossing and delightful tale that will keep you entertained from start to finish.

I knew Flirting with Trouble would hit differently from Melissa Foster’s previous books. Having met Victoria Braden before, I suspected Wells Silver would have his work cut out for him breaking through the walls of grief surrounding her heart. Five years ago, she lost her husband, and since then no one could break through those walls—then she met Wells. The man bold enough to stake a claim on her heart.

Foster did a wonderful job of blending heart, heat, and the magic that a small town like Silver Island is known for. Wells stole the show with his charming personality, persistence and unexpected depth. The combination of these characteristics revealed that there was more to him than his playboy reputation.

Victoria’s journey from mourning to healing felt raw and real. Watching her open her heart to a relationship with Wells will bring satisfaction to die hearted romance readers.

While the chemistry between them is magnetic, it’s the emotional connection that really hits home. Foster does a beautiful job of making readers fall in love with the romance, the friendships, the family bonds, and the island itself. This is a heartfelt, steamy, and uplifting read that left me smiling long after I turned the last page.

Flirting with Trouble with its perfect balance of passion, emotion and small-town charm will linger long after the final page. Flirting with Trouble reminds us that love can come knocking when you least expect it. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

✨ ARC Review: Flirting with Trouble – Melissa Foster ✨

Melissa Foster did it again.
This book? A total troublemaker – just like the title promises.

From the very first page, I felt like I was eavesdropping on something intimate and dangerously sweet. The tension? Chef's kiss. The characters? So alive, they practically breathe on the page.
She took friends-to-lovers and turned it into this slow, soul-gripping burn that left me speechless. And when they finally gave in?
Let’s just say… I had to close the book, scream into my pillow, and then keep reading. 😭🔥

He’s the kind of man who makes you feel safe and feral at the same time.
She’s soft but fierce. Real. Tangled up in doubts and feelings that hit too deep.
And together? They’re a walking emotional explosion.
He would burn the world just to keep her safe, and honestly... I’d let him.

The right people bring out a lightness in you.
And this story? It lit me up.

I laughed, I blushed, I ached — and I’m still not okay after that ending.
This book flirts with your heart and fucks with your soul. In the best way possible.

⭐ 5/5 – My new comfort smut-emotional read.
Watch out world, the Wickeds are back and this one? He’s trouble you’ll beg for.

I love Melissa Foster’s writing. Crazy, quirky friends and family or found family that love hard. This book starts off the series of the Silvers.

Wells Silver and Victory Braden met at a holiday party and then again at Sutton and Flynn’s wedding. Flynn is her brother. Wells was mesmerized by Victory but she shot him down as she heard of his reputation as a player and he’s younger than her. A hookup leaves him wanting more of a relationship but her telling him she doesn’t need a boy toy.

But what I loved is that it went beyond the typical one night stand to love. Victory was a widow and there is so much she needs to deal with in her past to have a future with anyone and guilt weighs her down. Wells is determined to prove himself to her by becoming her friend and learning about her and helping her find herself again. She finds there is more to him than she thought.

It’s a beautiful love story as they discover things about themselves and their families. Learning what is important. To live to work rather than work to live. To live in the moment and not to waste time that is not guaranteed. It is a hard fought emotional journey for the both of them.

They both tugged on my heartstrings to their HEA. A great read.

Flirting With Trouble was a fast paced read with so much healing and heart, sweetness and spice. I absolutely could not stop reading! I loved Wells and Victory so much!

Wells was a delight to read! He has such a good heart that is hidden behind his carefree, good time guy facade. My heart squeezed for him as a child between what his parents went through to how sweet he was with his sisters. Knowing how his parent's relationship affected him really helped me to understand him on a deeper level. He's the total package! Charming, authentic, thoughtful, protective, smart, and so much more.

Victory was so amazing! Her healing journey needed Wells and she didn't even know it. Watching her rediscover who she was while also feeling comfortable just being her true self was everything. She was so quick witted, smart, and kind hearted.

These two could not have been more perfect for one another. I loved how patient Wells was with her and how he truly wanted to help her heal. I loved how Victory saw him for the amazing man he is and kept him on his toes. It was great seeing their families and past characters too. I am loving this world!

I love the Silver family and Wells Silver is definitely a charmer. What an amazing start to a new series!

We head to Silver Island where the story centers around Wells and Victoria Braden. These two have met on a couple occasions but Victoria has this idea that he’s a playboy and doesn’t take anything seriously. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Wells is one of those MMCs you love from the very beginning. He goes after what he wants but is patient when doing so. You see, Victoria is a widow who hasn’t really stepped back into the dating world yet. I loved how he really listened to her needs on this. On the outside, Wells can be goofy and charming but the inside reveals a very sweet heart that loves fiercely. I was rooting for them the entire time because they were perfect for each other. Their chemistry could not be denied. I loved every second of this story and cannot wait for what’s next!

This story starts out with a bang 🔥It’s spicy hot and detailed. Victoria (AKA Victory) and Wells have a passionate night together. She was widowed young and hasn’t moved forward, this is her first time with a man since her husband passed five years previously she’s spent her time grieving her loss and running their business, not moving forward. Wells and she are acquainted with each other. They live on Silver Island where his family is “the family”.
She thinks he’s a careless, player so she thinks he’s a perfect person to rip the band aid off so to speak. No strings, feelings or expectations.
I love that it’s reverse age gap and that Wells isn’t what I initially thought he was. He is so much more, it made my heart melt.
It’s also reverse age gap which I’m a total sucker for.
There’s banter, fun and someone develops feelings quickly.
It’s super hot. It is very spicy. There are also some really vulnerable moments and emotional changes for the characters.
It’s a feel good book with secondary characters from previous books, but you don’t have to be caught up to enjoy this. This is book one in a new interconnected series.
This is the quintessential spicy summer read.
When emotional things come to light it made my day. I love the banter, humor and the tension.
It’s such a fun story with very likable characters.
I love that Victory gets a chance to be fulfilled again, especially with the hottie who never got serious before.
Wells is a lovely surprise, read it and you’ll find out!

This book is my favorite silver Island book. It was just so good Wells and victory are literally the most perfect people for each other and it’s so crazy because they’re so different but I think that’s what made each other fall in love.

You know with me I read all my good books in a day and that’s exactly what happened with this one. It was just such a fun read..

Victory and Wells are two people that are scared to be with other people for two completely different reasons and I think that is what makes their love story one of my favorites is that with victories still dealing with the death of her husband she has never had to deal with it at this capacity, and when Wells came into the picture, she had to try even though it was hard, and even though she felt like she wasn’t ready because she fell in love with him this book was everything I needed it to be and I can’t wait for the second one in the series. Melissa does it every single time for me. This one was no different.

Victory and Wells made me happy. There are no other words to describe the feelings I had after finishing this book. I loved that Wells was persistent and made her take a chance on him. I fell head over heels for Victory when she pushed him away but then did the right thing and fought for him.

Their relationship, from start to finish, was perfect. I adored Wells for not blaming her for still remembering her late husband. He was cocky, but never too much. I wasn’t sure what to think of him after reading how he hurt Leni when they were younger, but this book showed just how special he really is—and I loved him from start to finish.

As for Victory - if anyone deserved a second chance at love, it was her.

As usual, I devoured this book in one sitting and wish it didn’t have to end. But I can rest easy knowing we’ll be seeing them—and the rest of the Silvers—again soon.

This is the first in a new series, and this is Wells and Victoria’s story.
Victoria is a widow grieving the loss in her beloved husband and is struggling to move on with her life. On what would have been her anniversary 5-years later, Victoria plans to drown her sorrows in alcohol, but she crosses paths with playboy Wells, who is classed as Silver Island royalty, and they share a passionate night. Victoria is determined that they will only share one night, but Wells has other ideas.
This is a well written easy to read, emotional roller coaster story, with family, friendships, loss, grief, vulnerability, tad drama, secrets, tension, humor, witty banter, healing, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and heartwarming, small town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

5 Star Review Flirting With Trouble: Wells Silver (The Silvers at Silver Island Book 1) by Melissa Foster

I was excited when I heard that Melissa Foster was releasing a new series.

This is Wells Silver and widow Victoria (Victory) Braden’s story set on Silver Island.

Wells has a reputation as a playboy and yet I really loved him. He is such a dynamic man and there’s so much more to him than his playboy ways.

I’m not a huge fan of age gap romance but this one was a good. The writing is strong and the characters, although flawed, were easy to relate too.

Victory wasn’t looking for love, especially with a younger man, but sometimes fate plays tricks on a person.

The chemistry between them was intense but it was the love that developed that took this story to another level.

Really enjoyed this one! This book beautifully tackles love after loss. Victory is a widow still navigating the loss of her husband. Loved how the story gave her space to grieve and feel everything she needed to, while opening herself up to love again. The way Wells supported and encouraged her healing journey made me fall for him instantly. He was swoony, patient, and thoughtful, which is exactly what she needed. This book is fast burn with a filthy mouth mmc and great spice, but the emotional intimacy also really stands out. Watching Victory rediscover herself and allow happiness back into her life was beautiful.

This story was a perfect blend of sweet, sexy, and healing. Can’t wait to read more about the Silver family!

Flirting with Trouble

Wow, what an intense, beautiful, exciting and wonderful experience for these two people. There is an age gap, but what’s really in a number of? After losing a loved one, and closing yourself off, not expecting to have feelings for a younger man. To expect the unexpected, Wells is known to be a flirt, playboy, yet he only has eyes for Victory. Can she get past her guilt, and can and will she be able to open her ❤️ and be loved.

Absolutely loved this laugh out loud, captivating story featuring Wells Silver and Victory Braden. The Silver and Braden families are awesome. Every party, wedding, or bonfire barbecue reveals how loving and supportive they are to one another.

Victory is super attracted to Wells, but she is still feeling guilty about moving on, as if she is cheating on Harvey, her husband, who died five years ago. Wells is trying to go slow and not scare her, but he is in real deep. I love when the guy falls first!!!!!

4.5 stars rounded to 5 stars when needed. FLIRTING WITH TROUBLE, a feel good novel by Melissa Foster, is the first book in THE SILVERS AT SILVER ISLAND series and part of the larger series of connected stand-alone titles in the LOVE IN BLOOM universe. This is a first person, open door, dual POV, contemporary, billionaire romance novel. Tropes touched on in the book include Age Gap (she's older,) Reformed Playboy, Cutthroat CEO, Just a Fling, She's a Widow, He Falls First, Small Town, and Fast Burn Spice. Wells Silver was know for his playboy lifestyle until he met Victoria (Victory) Braden. When Victory lost her first love at the age of thirty-two she couldn’t imagine that she could fall in love twice in one lifetime. She rebuffed Wells’ advances, until a weak moment on the anniversary of the date she met her first husband. After their night together, Wells was convinced that Victory was the woman for him. He left no stone unturned in his quest to win her heart. This was a steamy, endearing love story with plenty of connection with family and friends, which helped to make Wells and Victory more complete people. I adored Wells. His fun-time, flirty approach to life, his witty banter, and his creative methods of wooing Victory were so much fun to read. I definitely recommend this book for readers of spicy, contemporary romance. I’m sure you will love Wells and Victory as much as I did. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after reading a free ARC of this novel via the author.

Wells is known as a playboy but really he is so sweet, loving and caring of those he loves.
Victory is a widow who lost the love of her life five years ago and can’t even think of dating again.
Wells fell for her and pursued her but she kept knocking him down. Until the day she didn’t and he knew she was the one. Now he has to prove to her that she can love again even without forgetting her husband.
Loved the pursuit and the happy ending.
Of course seeing the Silvers and Bradens were a treat too. Looking forward for more from this new series.

Wells just stole my heart. His charming, laid-back vibe coupled with his dedication and understanding made me swoon. I really felt for Victory and her struggle to move on from the passing of her husband. Many romance authors won’t tackle a love story where one of the lead characters has lost the love of their life and is struggling to move on. Melissa Foster writes Victory’s struggle with grace and compassion. And she couldn’t have written a better new partner for her than Wells. I appreciate how Foster takes the time to nurture this relationship. Victory is still mourning her late husband and letting someone new in can’t be rushed. Wells is so charming, loving, understanding and best of all patient with Victory while she navigates this new phase. Wells makes her feel things she has long buried and watching her blossom again was beautiful to experience. There are some hurdles and bumps in the road which add some tension. And Foster doesn’t disappoint in the bedroom spice. What he portrays to the world, that fun loving no commitment kind of guy, is not really the reality. His deep caring nature shines through. So romantic and thoughtful. He has a heart of gold.

Although I’ve read many of Fosters’ books, the Silver Island ones are new to me. So, Wells and all the island characters are a breath of fresh air for me. And that makes me so excited to tackle these previous series as I loved getting glimpses of those characters.

Thank you to the author and Valentine PR for this ARC!

This was such a sweet and emotional read. Wells calls Victory sweet thing, and honestly, the way he falls first—and falls hard—had me hooked from the start. I loved how deeply and patiently he loved her, even when she wasn’t ready to fully return his feelings.

There’s great character growth throughout the story, especially in how Victory opens herself up to love again. The author did a beautiful job crafting their dynamic and showing that slow-burn emotional journey.

If you enjoy a reverse age gap romance with a charming playboy MMC and a powerhouse FMC in the music industry, you’ll love this one. The spice level is about 3🌶️—just enough to heat things up without overpowering the emotional depth.

A solid 4-star read for me!

Wes and Vic are going to have you reaching for some tissues.

The entire book had me sat. Not only was Wells one of the best MMCs I have read in a while... Vic was also just as amazing to read. Both of these characters had baggage but navigating it together seemed to be the focus. He wanted to be a better man for her and she wanted to finally move on from the loss of her husband.

It is important to note that Vic never forgot about her late husband. In fact, he was just as part of this couples journey as Wells' family (who helped him along the way in figuring out which approach was best to ensnare Vic). Vic's journey of processing her grief and understanding why she felt so stuck is important to mention as well.

Flirting with Trouble is going to take you on an emotional journey. Not only will it keep you entertained the ending had me kicking my feet and giggling.

Thank you to the author and The Author Agency for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wells has been head over heels for Victory since he first lay eyes on her, but she's always rejected his advances. He knows she's built strong walls around herself since she lost her husband, but he's determined to scale those walls and find his way into her heart. He may have been a playboy before her, but now that she's in his sights, he only sees her, and will always only see her. Now he just has to convince her that they're meant to be.

Victory is a smart, ruthless CEO, and a woman whose heart has been frozen since she lost her husband. She doesn't want to feel, knows she won't ever feel, again because her husband was it for her. Then along comes a gorgeous, YOUNGER playboy who's sneaking past her defenses. She's trying to tell herself she and Wells are just having a fling, but even she doesn't really believe that because Wells isn't just a charming flirt, he's there for her, standing by her side, persistently chipping away at the ice she's kept her heart encased in. She needs to take that leap with him, even if she can't help feeling guilty for moving on.

These two got me right in the feels! I wanted to wrap Victory up in a big hug, how could I not? She was a woman grieving her first love and didn't see herself ever being in a position to open herself back up to those kind of big feelings. But how could she not fall for Wells? He wasn't just a charming, gorgeous flirt, he was the real deal, and her heart knew it, even when she didn't want to admit it, couldn't get past her guilt. Romance can fun, it can be sweet, and sexy, but the very best romance has something more - heart. Victory and Wells have more than their fair share of heart, and I adored every word of them falling in love. The Silvers prove just why Melissa is one of my very favorite authors, and I'm impatient for Fitz's story next, The Trouble with Flings: Fitz Silver.

I was excited when I first read that Melissa Foster will have a new series and the first book revolves around Wells Silver and Victoria “Victory” Braden. I have read a lot of Melissa Foster’s books and could only imagine how these worlds combined once again.

Victory has a wall around her heart ever since her husband, the love of her life, passed away five years ago. Wells have been flirting with Victory ever since they first met at a wedding. The banter between these two… chef’s kiss. Victory turns down Wells at every chance but he is just a persistent guy trying to prove he is a reformed player. Wells definitely falls first and hard for the strong willed Victory. Wells’ charming personality shines through the pages. Plus, he is just so patient with Victory. The progression of them going from friends to more was just so fun to read. All the various characters from Love in Bloom world appearing brought smiles to my face. The books are interconnected standalones so you can read them without the others, but why would you? You will fall in love with this extended family. Though Wells may have top billing at the moment. I absolutely loved the first book in The Silvers at Silver Island and cant wait to read the other Silver siblings fall in love.

Thank you to Grey’s Promotions for the advance reader copy. I reviewed an advance copy of this book freely and voluntarily. I received no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
