He's a renowned celebrity assistant, now taking over as manager for Country Quad, the legendary band of Young Brothers. She's a young cowgirl trying to find her place in life and her family. Can Joey take a leap of faith and land safely in Adam's arms? Or will small town gossip and expectations crush them both?
Adam Harmon has everything under control—a successful career as a celebrity assistant, substantial savings, and a new position managing Country Quad, the legendary band of Young Brothers. But when he moves to small-town Coral Canyon nestled in the majestic Teton Mountains, he finds himself drawn to Joelle Young, the quiet daughter of legendary band member Otis Young. She's nine years his junior and his new boss's daughter—definitely off-limits.
Joey Young has always felt like an add-on in her blended family. Between working at the local bakery and helping with her family's catering business, she's still trying to find her purpose after leaving culinary school in New York City. The last thing she needs is to fall for her father's new band manager, no matter how his professional demeanor and transition to small-town cowboy makes her heart flutter.
But Joey and Adam find themselves taking line dancing lessons together, shopping for his first cowboy hat, and sharing family meals with her grandparents. As Adam learns to embrace the cowboy lifestyle and Joey begins to find her confidence, they'll have to navigate small-town gossip, family expectations, and their own fears.
Can Adam learn to put love before work for the first time in his life? Will Joey find the courage to stand up for what she wants? Or will their age difference, family expectations, and professional complications keep them from finding their happily ever after?

Lovely,, lovely story! Joey and Adam are perfect together. And loved Harry's part of the story. The young family are larger than life and its hard to remember they're only fictional characters. Great series, great story!
Reading through this series is like coming home to dear family and friends so I was excited to be an early reader for this story centered on Joey Young, Otis’ oldest daughter. In earlier books in the series, Joey aka Roo seems to be a really sweet girl who lacks confidence and at times even appears to be a bit weak. So it was fun to see Joey come into her own, know her own mind, embrace her uniqueness, assert herself to accomplish her goals, and find love with a good man. Adam has recently been hired to manage Country Quad, a famous band composed of four of the Young brothers including Otis, Joey’s dad. He finds himself drawn to Joey and even though it is probably not his smartest move to date the boss’ daughter, he decides to pursue his interest in her. Their irresistible love story is central to this book but it is woven throughout with the telling of other threads of Young family news. It would be possible to enjoy this book as a standalone but you will understand and appreciate it so much more if you start at the beginning of the series. Trust me, you will grow to love these people and it will be worth it. I loved these characters. I loved the book. And I love this series. Can’t wait for the next book! I received an ARC from the author. All opinions expressed are strictly my own.
This was an absolutely amazing Christian contemporary romance with cowboy tones. I remember a scene or two with Adam and Joey in a past book and I’ve been hoping for and anticipating their matchup. Adam had the sweetest heart that just melts me when he comes to take care of Joey. She is prone to crying and that frustrates her. I totally understand! Sometimes it just happens no matter how much you try to will it away. Though I have learned that your body literally releases stress hormones within your tears so I’m learning it does actually help in a positive manner.
Even though neither of them are cowboys, this book has a decidedly cowboy feel. This is an age gap romance (9 years) and it plays out well. Joey’s dad is a country music star and Adam is coming on as the band’s manager. This book is full of faith and family. It’s about belonging and finding your place in your family, your town, and the family of God. It was a wonderful read that had me turning the pages. This is a just kisses romance. A solid 5 star read that I want to get in paperback!
I received an eARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Another great book by Liz Isaacson! The enormity of the Young family hits you at the beginning with the listing of the family tree. Wow! You feel like you know this extended family with all their goings on. And then there are the cousins that have feelings of not belonging, as they don’t share both parents with their siblings. They band and bond together. You can feel the love growing between Joey and Adam as you read. It’s just the little things that all piece together as they learn to know and love each other. Written in a way that you feel the emotions between them. It all comes down to Family. And there’s their faith, as they always tried to follow God’s will for their lives. Excellent characters who share a great chemistry. It’s wonderful getting another glimpse of Country Quad and the rest of the Young family. I highly recommend Joey and look forward to the next installment in this series.
The Young family is my favorite family of all the books I have read. A big, loud, loving family who supports each other and comes together when they are needed. While this is true, the children from their fathers' first marriages band together as each sometimes feels like they don't belong. Joey has struggled with feeling "less than" and like a failure. When Adam takes the job as band manager, they are drawn to each other despite an 8 year age difference. Through his encouragement, Joey begins to see herself as everyone else sees her, and he is drawn back to a relationship with God. Their love story is sweet. I love that these books are about the whole family and their relationships and love.
I love reading about the Older Young Kids, from the first marriages. They all feel like they don’t belong, even though that isn’t true. Joey feels like her life is going nowhere. She is working two jobs trying to save up money to buy her own place and she feels like a failure. She feels like no ones sees her and that she doesn’t matter to anyone. Adam is the new manager for Country Quad and is older than Joey, but he sees her. He sees her potential and he reminds her daily of how important she and that she can do whatever she puts her mind to. However, he is a work acholic and needs to learn relax.
Joey and Adam have a wonderful story! She has an incredibly strong family background coming from the Young family; however, she has struggled to find her place and purpose. He is driven, almost a decade older than her and the new manager of her dad‘s wildly successful band.
Joey’s dad, Otis Young, has had such a precious relationship with his daughter outlined in previous books. I love the scenes in the story with the two of them working through her new relationship with Adam and its many implications.
Come along for a great ride to see how Joey and Adam work through their differences to find a happily ever after!
This was a sweet read. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Joey doesn't feel like she really belongs and sometimes she just hurts it crying. But she goes to a place that no one can see her so she can just let it out. But Adam walks around the house and spots her. He offers her a shoulder and someone to talk to. He's older than her but she has always had a crush on him. The more they talk the more they both realize their attraction. But Adam is older so he doesn't act on it. At least for awhile. Pick this up and start reading its a great story. I was given a copy and I voluntarily leave this review.
Joey... I have loved her since the beginning and was so happy to see her get a book. Adam, we met and fell a little in love with him in Harry's book. So the 9 year age gap between these two just works, and he is SOOO good for Joey. This book is about finding one's self and it is a family saga. You can totally read it as a stand alone, but the absolute JOY you get from the extended family is sooooo much more if you read them all. I just love the whole young family and these kids of theirs just touch my heart, and I think I almost love their stories MORE than their parents, but maybe because we get a glimpse into the whole family's lives. I don't know, but Joey's book is pretty special.
Another fantastic story in this series, I love the Young family and all the love and support they show to each other. I enjoyed Joey and Adam’s story, she lacked confidence and even felt like she didn’t belong (I know how she felt) her dad and stepmom did everything to make her feel loved and when Adam came along, he also did so much to help Joey as well, they have such great chemistry. I loved how the older cousins got together for movie night and the bond that they had by that. This is such a great story that drew me in, I highly recommend reading.
This book is a wonderful trip back to Coral Canyon and the Young family. Adam is a strong individual use to being the planner, go to guy who makes stuff happen. He came to Coral Canyon with Harry and is getting a new job that will keep him there. Joey is quiet and serves others with all she has. She has grown up but is still trying to find her way in her big family. These two bring out the best in each other. The characters are well written and the love story is sweet and endearing. Loved this book.
I love Coral Canyon Cowboys! It was great that Joey finally got her story. Joey seems to get lost in her family of outgoing country music and rodeo stars and she sometimes feels that no one sees her. But Adam sees her. He sees her dedication and devotion to family, her work ethic, her ability to set goals and go after them, and he loves her giggle! It’s always like coming home to read these stories. If you like clean, inspirational stories about dedication to family and God—don’t miss this! You will love it!
I so enjoyed going back to Carol Canyon and visiting with the Youngs again. I absolutely loved Joey and Adams story. These two had an instant attraction to each other from the beginning but neither thought it could go anywhere because he's 8 years older. I really enjoyed watching things work out for them and seeing them get their HEA.
I always enjoy how this author writes about families and includes God in their lives. It amazes me how these stories keep getting better and better. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
I just finished reading "Joey" by Liz Isaacson. It was so good to get back in touch with the Young family! I loved the way Joey and Adam's story unfolded. It was the perfect blend of sass and learning to love yourself and that special someone.
The interaction between all the cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents made me feel like part of the big family that the Youngs are. The ending gave good closure to the story but also left the door open to travel a bit farther with the family. But I won't spoil it for you! You'll have to get the book and find out for yourself!
Reading this book was as if I just read the other 10 books recently instead of months ago. I always loved Joey, but to see her fall in love gave her more of the strong heart, working hard for her dreams and belief in God person she had to learn in order to have faith in herself. The concert was a wonderful touch to see the band singing again, along with bringing OJ, the 11 year old son with the new members that started in the other books. It is the originals are retiring and the children and grandchildren are taking over. We will see in the next books.
It took me awhile to get through Joey, but without giving anything away...I love happy endings!!😍 Joey had a few challenges to overcome but Adam proved to be just the man she needed, and to be the love of her life. Adam was more than a dream!! Joey helped Adam learn what "love" was as his mother warned him that he would know it when it was true!! My, my, Liz had all the pieces of their puzzle in the right places!! I love cowboys and all those Young family men are awesome!! Thank you, Ms. Isaacson😘😘
Whether you have been around Coral Canyon forever or this is your “first visit”, you are sure to love this story! It’s fun to watch this generation of Young’s find their happily ever after. Seeing Joey navigate being the daughter of a high profile country music star and truly finding herself and her passions is so exciting. She and Adam navigate the celebrity and small town together to find a love that is strong and true. I can’t love this story enough!
I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Joey Young has always felt like she is invisible, but with Adam Harman the new manager for her father and uncle’s band, she feels seen and heard even though he is several years older than she is. His attention to detail has made him successful in his career and also with Joey as long as he can separate his life from his work. This is another amazing book in this faith filled family saga series.
I enjoyed getting to know Joey as an adult and experiencing her journey through her highs and lows as she discovered her purpose. I identified with her insecurities as she matured. It was wonderful to see both Adam and Joey become comfortable with who they were as individuals and then come together to form a life together despite their differences. It's always a pleasure to read about what is happening in the lives of other family members.
I love this series and all the characters in all the generations! Adam and Joey are such a beautiful couple. I love her joy and cooking and baking abilities. Adam is a good opposites attract boyfriend. Of course, the Young family is as loving and loyal as ever. No family is perfect, and we get to read about those, too. A loving God who draws us to Himself is evident as well. The whole book is like a warm hug, fun, and has a delightful ending.
Back to Carol Canyon we go and this visit is all about Joey & Adam and their story is just wonderful & heartfelt. A fantastic couple that have extraordinary chemistry and an age gap that has them doubting. It a well written, well paced tale full of love and laughter, self discovery, family and happiness. Had me curled up on the sofa the whole read, enjoying this family visit and seeing old friends.
This book titled Joey is my favorite so far. I can't wait to read the next in this amazing series. I loved following the Young Family through all the good and sometimes sad parts. It really feels that that I know the family personally. This is all due to an excellent author Liz Isaacson who writes to draw the reader into her books. Can't wait for the next in the series.
This whole series is really worth reading . This story will take you on a roller coaster of emotions . Joey is a relatable good lady trying to find her footing in adulthood and her family life . Adam is a very patient and understanding young man . This is a very well written story of young love . This story will have you laughing ,crying and just shaking your head sometimes ! If you like Christian family love stories , this book is for you .
Review: While this one was typical in format, it was a unique story of someone who had to learn to begin to see in herself what others saw in her. He boyfriend Adam helped her to find that uniqueness . Loved the wedding of Harry and Belle and especially the way Adam proposed to Joey. It's a great story. I like getting caught up on the Young family
I remember being introduced to young Joey/Roo, in her father, "Otis" Young's 💞 Story. So I was excited, that she's now grown up, & has her own 📗, "Joey", by Liz Isaacson. I Highly Recommend You 📖 this Engrossing, Christian, Western Romance!
I have enjoyed the Coral Canyon Cowboys books so much, and have been waiting somewhat impatiently for this one. I especially like the hints of what will come as the story of this family continues, but I really appreciate that the storyline for this book wraps up with a satisfying lovely ending. I just wish I could watch a Country Quad concert in person.
I am so glad you did a story of Adam. He deserved a Joey in his life. Really enjoyed this book. Love the multi-generational stories. Feel like these characters are family. Characters are in depth and face relatable challenges in life and finding their place in their family. I would highly recommend Joey and Adam as your next read! Enjoy!
It was wonderful to visit with the Young Family, old and the young ones to see how their lived were developing. Reading and remembering when Joey (Roo) was a young girl. I felt that she needed an older man who understood her needs and helped her grow and to realize her worth. I loved reading how their faith in God increased..
This book is engaging and continues the stories of the first generation family of the seven Young men. I love that they call themselves the Cousins and have Cousin movie night. But then love enters into the picture for another one of them, and it is a magical story. Can’t wait for the next book to premiere!
I've always been drawn to Joey. She was always so sweet, yet so unsure of herself. I loved seeing her blossom in this book, and the love story between her and Adam is just so wholesome and sweet. I loved seeing how Adam found his way back to the Lord as well.
