FIRST TIME THAT I SEE ABOUT THE SPIN-OFF

The Lost Soul (Fallen Souls, #1) by Jessica Sorensen

OMG ! SPIN-OFF can't wait for this :3

AFTER READING THIS .

OMG OMG OMG !!!
this ia better than the fallen star series BUT i LOVE these TWO series about gemma and alex yey !
lots of action , adrenaline , fast read though uggh .
and i can't seem to put this down for a minute because
if i put this down i will be wondering what happen to the next chapter and so on .
i freaking LOVE Jessica Sorensen FOR DOING THIS SPIN OFF :*

in this Spin off i did not expect that gemma is still the narrator of this
series ? why because of the spin off of V.A
i want it to be rose again but not it is sydney . ok scratch that :)
back to the topic so gemma here has a split personality or something
because helena queen of the afterlife wants to rule the world.
and helena possessed gemma so she can come to the earth .
and god i can not believe this gemma and laylen kind of SEXY hahaha .
i want to read more about them but as you can see
they are together if helena and alex possessed their body .

and oh about alex i want to read his P.O.V again .
poor nicholas because he is the one gemma sacrifice so she can get her
power back but for real it is helena .

When I found out there was going to be a spin off on the fallen star series I literally did a face plant on my bed and then screamed in my pillow, I was so excited (there may have been a bit of hyperventilating too). And then I found out I would have to wait (there may have been tears involved). But it's out!

The major thing that caused my excitement was Nicholas. I mean half the time I want to give the poor fairie/forseer a hug, and the other half I wanted to beat him to death with his own shoe. I really think that Gemma should dump Alex and go with Nicholas. That would give everyone a major WTF moment.

I really love these books because Gemma and Alex save each other an equal amount so it's not sexist, oh, and every single person seems to have separate problems

AISLINN: Luna problem, and saving the world
ALEX: possessed, loosing Gemma problem, and saving the world
GEMMA: freeing father, Nicholas (like usual), possessed, loosing Alex, and saving the world
LAYLEN: Possessed problem and saving the world
NICHOLAS: likes Gemma, doing others dirty work, helping Gemma, recently getting the life sucked out of him by a giant crystal ball, and helping save the world

This book however ended on a cliff hanger :'( . I just wanted to say Nicholas, your beautiful keep hanging on! Oh, and keep being your usual annoying self (It makes things interesting)

P.S. If anyone knows who Evan is Please Please tell me! (I'm guessing somehow related to Gemma but I don't know)

What's a girl to do? When last we see them, Gemma and her friends stop legion hordes of Death Walkers, led by her boyfriend's evil father, and the world is saved. She and her friends move into a nice castle, and suddenly, all sorts of hell starts breaking loose.

Such is life for 18 year-old Gemma Lucas. She and her boyfriend, Alex, did indeed help save the world. The couple moved into the former Keepers' Castle, along with Alex's sister, Aislin, and the friendly vampire/Aislin's love interest, Laylen. There's a domestic tranquility about the place...for about a day.

There are entities called Lost Souls. They aren't supposed to be able to reach earth, but at least one has, and it takes control of one of the friends in a most annoying manner. Once they figure out that mystery, the fab four learn certain secrets about The Fey ("Faeries," to the underinformed). See, The Fey aren't really supposed to have any powers, at least not compared to Keepers, Foreseers, Vampires, and Witches, but suddenly, an internecine struggle between Fey sisters changes the rules, and the Fey are no longer a mere supernatural trifle.

Nicholas, the creepy half-Fey/half-Foreseer--and constantly lustful Gemma pursuer--is back. He leads his beloved into a trap, but was it his doing? Gemma dies a few times more--it's okay, because she's immune to death, and can come back from the afterlife--and each of the friends acts mighty possessed at one time or another.

This book builds on the mythology from The Fallen Star Series, and it's a good story. One huge difference, though, is in the physical relationships between the characters. Aislin and Laylen have rekindled their old romance, and Gemma and Alex are very much in love. Everyone has their own bedroom, but there seems to be a lot of frequent sleeping over. There is no mention of sex, however. There's heaving and moaning and touching and wanting, but apparently, nobody's actually succeeded in having sex. You'd think they would go ahead and pull the trigger, seeing as the world almost ended--and may still end--but if you go by the letter of the book, everyone stops at heavy petting. Once, poor Alex gets his hand under Gemma's shirt, up to the bottom of her bra, before she rebuffs him, or some monster interrupts. My sincere hope--for all these characters' sake--is that they're really having sweaty monkey sex all over the place, but that it's left out of the narrative owing to the Young Adult readership.

One quirk I noticed this time is that author Jessica Sorensen frequently verbs her nouns. (sic) In other words, she'll take a noun, modify it slightly, and use it as a verb. (The only example I can think of right now (see the previous paragraph about nookielessness), would be "Alex backdoored Gemma," but that would be inappropriate, so forget I said it) As a rule, I like when she does this--I enjoy when a skilled writer takes liberties with the language. Sometimes, however, it backfires. Once, when Alex is driving fast, he's described as "throttling the car up the driveway." Throttle is already a verb. To "throttle-up" is usually used to describe what a pilot does on take-off: he pushes the throttle controls forward. That's the compound form though: throttle-up. To throttle most commonly means to choke or strangle. This just made me laugh, as I envisioned Alex choking his classic muscle car as it rolled up the driveway.

This is a minor quibble. Like the Fallen Star series, Jessica Sorensen proves herself to be an excellent storyteller. This book felt different from the previous series, though. I'm guessing it's because we have familiar characters placed in new dynamics. Where Gemma was a neophyte in the original series, she has far more power in the new group dynamics. Even when she loses some of her abilities, her comportment in the Fallen Star finale earned her respect from her counterparts.

If you liked the "Fallen Star" series, I'd certainly recommend "The Lost Soul." If you haven't read the "Fallen Star" books, I'd advise you read them first. They will give you a solid grounding in the world of Gemma, Alex, Aislin, and Laylen. Plus, they're awesome books.

"The Lost Soul" feels like "Fallen Star" as a surly teenager. There's a restlessness, a rebelliousness that wasn't in the first series. When one of the good characters becomes possessed and acts bad, I find that character a whole lot more appealing.

Either way, I can't wait for book two, just to see where Ms Sorensen takes us next.

Spin-off of the Fallen Star Series.

My name is Gemma Lucas and my life is good. Alex and I eliminated the star and Stephan and the Death Walkers. Finally I can relax and focus on freeing my father from the Room of Forbidden.

At least that’s what I thought. But things are never that easy.

Just when I’ve put the past behind, Lost Souls cross over into the Real World. Then Alex disappears without a trace. As I desperately search for him, I discover secrets I wish I could forget—secrets Alex has been keeping for me. And I’m not sure what to do. Or who I can trust.
(summary from Amazon)

Wow, this book has me emotions in a whirlwind. Like Jessica’s other books, it keeps you enthralled from the very beginning, all the way till the end. I felt everything as Gemma did too. And it’s so beautifully written, this book sucks you right into the story. It’s not a surprise, as I have learned Jessica is a phenomenal writer.

We are back with Gemma, Alex, Aislin, Laylen, and Nicholas, and a few others from the Fallen Star series. They have a lot to deal with. Gemma then, must find and save Alex, and she ends up having to trust Nicholas to do it, the half-fey Foreseer is a manipulative character, which always asks a price for any help. Then we find all is not what it seems, and she starts doing odd things, and then we find her mind is not all her own. Its an interesting twist, and really had me reading late into the night, to see what happens next. And of course there is a pretty big cliffhanger. I sure wonder how they will get themselves out of this mess.

I like the introduction of Evan, too bad he came so late into the story. I sure we will be seeing more of him. I was very satisfied with the action and adventures of this new spin-off series of The Fallen Star series. I love that we learn some more about Gemma’s past, her bloodlines so to speak, it’s unexpected too.

I do not want to add any spoilery, but will say, this book will have your heart aching. If I say much more, it will spoil it for you. But trust me, its worth reading, and I give it a 5/5 stars 100%!

Wow! I do not know how she did it, but Jessica took the Fallen Star series to a whole new level without it feeling forced or contrived. I adored the Fallen Star series and was beyond giddy when I found out this series was in the works. The story takes place after the dust has settled from ending of the first series. The characters are not much older, but boy have they grown up. Wowzers. This is still a fairly clean YA, but it definitely heated up.
I think the genius in this book is the point of view. I can not really say to much about this without giving away a huge spoiler, but the author stays true to her point of view to the point that I was floored by one of the turns of events.
I know I have far more to say on this series, but words are really alluding me right now. I think it is because I am fearful of giving away spoilers. this book had me on the edge of my seat and I think if I knew what was coming it would have ruined it for me. If you have not read The Fallen Star series, you could probably read this with only a wee bit of confusion. The author does not dumb down the story by retelling the initial series, but the key facts are there and the main story arc is completely different from the first series. That being said, I highly recommend you check out The Fallen Star. Book one is free right now, so it is like a risk free trial.
Oh and I loved this book! I guess I should have started with that.

I was sad when the Fallen Star series ended but I love that the saga is continued in this series. The whole gang is back with a whole new dilemma. It is just like I remember with Alex & Gemma always fighting about keeping secrets and not allowing her to make her own decisions. I love these characters and I am happy to read about them again. Throw in the Queen of the Underworld and you have a whole new kinda mess. I can't wait to see how they handle this.

I was really excited when Jessica announced that Gemma and Alex were getting another series as I adored them a couple and I loved the Fallen Star series! I originally read this book when it was first released and I couldn't finish it so I decided to try re-reading it as the next book in the series was coming out! I loved it more the second time around! The plot was what put me off a little from reading this book as I wasn't sure if I was really going to enjoy it but Jessica added twists and turns to keep me interested! I found it a little bit difficult to get into to start off with but after I was able to work out what was going on and also figure out where some new characters that were introduced stood then I was able to enjoy the book and fully understand what was going on! The characters had grown so much since the Fallen Star series and I loved their changes! Gemma was again the main character and I connected with her just as much as I did in the other series! I continued to love her and her personality! I liked her changes as the plot made her change and it wasn't the Gemma that we had all come to love but I do have to say that I found it really strange reading Gemma like she was but it was fun as well! Alex in this book was so hot! He was hot in the Fallen Star series and he was even hotter in The Lost Soul! For some of this book Alex was completely different but the plot required him to be! I thought that he was a bit of a ass when his personality changed but there was still some of the Alex that I had come to love in this book as well! Laylen and Aislin kicked ass in this book! I loved them! I wasn't really expecting Laylen's personality to change as well as Gemma and Alex's but it was all for the plot! The ending left it at a really amazing cliff-hanger which has given me some ideas foe where the next book in this series will go! I am looking forward to seeing where the next book, The Evanescence goes after the cliff-hanger in this book as it was amazing! The new cover is beyond stunning! I didn't realise how well it suits the book until after I had read it!

The Lost Soul series is a spin-off to the Fallen Star series. It's even better than its predecessor! It's a simple and fast-paced read. This new series continues to follow Gemma Lucas' and Alex's story. Taking place a short amount of time after "The Promise". It's full of mystery, action, and secrets. Just when you think you have an idea of what's going on you're thrown for a loop and have to keep revising your initial thoughts because you won't expect where The Lost Soul will take you. You'll be shocked on more than one occasion. It keeps around almost all characters from the previous series so you get an even more in depth insight into the character's motives which is deliciously fascinating. Gemma learns more about her heritage and buried past making her story additionally compelling. Incredibly amazing series that will leave you wanting more.

SYNOPSIS:

Gemma and Alex are alive and that's what's important, right? After surviving the afterlife she's ready for a mundane lifestyle with her other half but first there's just one little thing she needs to do first - rescue her father from the Forbidden Room. As if that isn't impossible enough Gemma has strange dreams, then Alex starts acting weird, it feels like she's losing her mind but she has to keep it together if she wants to brave a rescue mission and get to the botton of things. Unexpectedly but not surprisingly she finds she needs a particularly annoying faerie to help her solve some of her daunting problems - but for a price. In her dreams she sees terrifying things that could tear apart the normal life she's worked so hard to build for herself and Alex, nothing's safe not the past or future.

Oh my God! What a rollercoaster! I love the Fallen Star series and this book just felt like an action packed continuation! I must say I was seriously unhappy to see the end of Gemma's adventures and this book was just a fan's dream come true. I love Laylen and though I wish he and Gemma would hook up or something I know it won't happen (maybe when she's possessed or something... and i cant wait for it to happen). Nicholas just makes me sad sometimes. I know he's a good guy deep down (maybe his story will be similar to Snape's? i really hope not, he's a sweet guy)
Whew! There was always something going on and I love how Gemma likes to take action herself instead of waiting for some guy to rescue her and solve all her problems. She's one of my favourite protagonists ever. Unlike those dumb, annoying, immature sluts/bitches (Nora,Calla, Zoey Redbird among others. I hope they all die soon but chances are their various boyfriends will save them *barf*)
Gemma is the perfect narrator for this story. I love their world... oh and Alex isn't half bad at all.
I can't wait for the next book!!

Okay, it pains me to rate this a 3 but I had to...

I must say, I did love The Fallen Star series so much and I was so excited that you were doing a sequal to the series, but maybe you should've stopped.

First of all, I honestly think there's too much Gemma and Alex romance. Like Alex lies to her, and keeps things from her that are important but in the end they still end up all lovey dovey and stuff. I mean Gemma, use your brain and see what the big picture is.

Also, how many damn times did Gemma and Alex promise to never ever keep a secret from each other again. For god sakes why don't you just do a blood promise of it, but I still think you would still keep secrets so stop trying to think Alex is going to tell you everything.

I must admit too, I did get really bored in this book because I felt like it was the same thing over and over. Like go to the underworld, do something there, get sent back. Go to the underworld, do something there, get sent back. You get my point..

That's really all I have to say. You did say you wanted peoples honest opinions on your books and this is mine.

Holy God!
How didn't i know there was a spin-off series?And its already published?
My bad...anyways glad to read more of Gemma N Alex..I love the Fallen Star Series n so looking forward to Fallen Souls series too!!

---

OMG@!The book totally rocked.
Gemma and Alex are happy together in keepers castle thinking the world is saved and everything is perfect..now the only goal is to save her father from Room of Forbidden..but gemma's visions says otherwise.

The three queens of Essence,Underworld and Afterlife are after Gemma's powers..some old and some newly discovered.

Will Alex be able to save Gemma before she became puppet of them? While is stuck in their clutches and is deep in quicksand. Her friends are stuck in their own problems and Nicholas is as usual pain in ass.(LOL)

The story was dark, edgy, suspenseful and as the title suggests full of Lost souls!

A great read for everyone who loved Fallen star series and i totally loved it and so looking forward to see what will Alex do to save gemma this time.

The Promise was the ending to the Fallen Star series. I knew there would be a twist to the prophecy of the end of the world. I enjoyed this book and I’m glad that it gets a new twist int he spin-off series “Fallen Souls”. The Lost Soul started out really interesting, then tons of things got complicated, some people got possessed, the queens of the Underworld are trying to take over the world and chaos exists once more. I’m still very curious to know what happens next, Jessica Sorensen is very good to keep the action & drama going though her books. I really can’t wait to know what happens next!

I loved this book!

I'm in love with the series, I love the main character, and there is a twist that leaves me anxiously awaiting the next in this series. Jessica managed to add another element to these characters and a twist to Gemma that had me squeeing with delight.

If you've read her Lost Star series, you love this one, give it a go.

I loved the fallen star series but have mixed views on the lost soul spin-off. I crave for more of the Gemma/Alex story yet thought this book just didn't have the same pull as the others. That said, I can't wait for the next book to find out how it all ends.

Tons of Turmoil

This is another great installment for the Fallen Star Series. I'm just starting to believe there is no end in sight.
The fact that the story STILL has "End of the World" themes that arise within hours of saving it.
The last twists that occurred made me frustrated. Immediately after supposedly escaping the Afterlife yet again, promises are made to stop taking life for granted and to stop taking stupid chances. Yet, the first words uttered are another adventure that could get people, especially main characters killed. Gemma leaves us with another cliff hanger. It's becoming absurd. The writing itself is good apart from the amount of typos or wrong word choice ie: except instead of accept, to instead of too, and words in wrong order in sentences. This must be an older series than I realized. My first Kindle books purchased 2010, were full of mistakes. I know they have improved. I guess I thought they were pretty much cleaned up these days.
Last book in this series is probably the next one. I'm ready.
Peace

Not bad.......

Gemma, Alex, Ainsley and Laylen cannot catch a break in this book after the last series. They thought they were safe, but nothing is further from the truth. If it's not the get queen trying to cross over to the human world, it's Helena trying for world domination. Sometimes you just need to say......enough.

These are only kids and the story has been going on top long. Maybe I am just tired.

Jessica Sorensen is an amazing author for teens to read. She captures emotions and dilemmas most teenagers can relate to. This story line is unique, heart wrenching, beautiful, and mystery because you never know where she’s going to go with it next. HOLY CRAP

Ok there, that's the number one thing that I said after I closed the book. Let me say it again, Holy crap

Jessica Sorensen has the ability to hypnotize her readers. I just can't bring this down!! And bringing this down was like an agony and pain aching through my soul. I maybe exaggerating a bit, but I, myself, is a living proof that Jessica Sorensen is a phenomenal writer.

The Lost Soul is the 1st book in The Fallen Star Series spin-off. In this book A LOT of new secrets and mysteries were unraveled. Gemma discovered more of her family relations, like Nalani. She discovered that she is another species (i mean another magical kind). There was so many things going on inside this book that I have to gape faster at the events and revelations.

There was this new adventure wherein it wasn't very easy for the characters to pass through. A powerful Queen in the Afterlife was going after them, as in all of them. At first, I thought it would be Anabella, but as pages unfolded it was Helena. The powers that the queens hold of is too powerful making big twists and turns in the story. This book was different compared to the Fallen Star Series.
“I’ve been waiting for one of you for a very long time.” A wicked grin curves on her face and she dashes forward, stopping inches from my face.

“Have you ever wondered why death and faeries seem to go together? You have Helena, Queen of The Lost Souls. Annabella, Queen of Essences. And then there’s me, Lucinda, Queen of The Underworld.”

I stagger backward. “Are you saying that you’re all related?”

“We’re sisters.” Her grin broadens like a true villain. “And just like all siblings, we have our quarrels.

I didn't see this coming... Hold it, I didn't see everything coming. Information overload, situation lose control. That was a very very brief summary of this book. The story line was smooth and wasn't crammed though I have to say the book was jam packed with events. Jessica's writing style has wormed inside me that I almost memorized the possible words and dialogues she might put, but then again she always blow things in a surprise and I'm left on the edge of the cliff wanting to jump out of frustration. I hope I'm not appearing vague, but the author really overwhelmed me with this book. I was awestruck.

The characters were surprisingly amazing. I mean despite the spells and possess stuffs thrown onto them they still managed to get a hold of their attitudes. I loved them all, and reading about their struggles made my heart ached in sympathy. I loved Gemma, though she had this "i saved the world, i can save everyone" mantra going in her mind, but still I loved her rationality and courage to the extreme hazardous stuffs for the people she loves. Alex irked me on the first part but then I understood where he was coming from. Aislin was the coolest wicca ever. She might do a lot of crappy spells but still she managed to be the coolest wicca ever. Okay, I said it. Coolest witch ever. Nicholas, I pitied him. I knew from the start that he has a thing for Gemma and he's doing everything to help her with her dilemmas. I felt sorry for him especially that his life wasn't the easiest to live in. Laylen.... Oh dear Laylen what will I ever do to you. You are the sweetest bestfriend ever.
“There are punishments that are worse, like losing your power in a world full of death. Every day I sit here, never knowing if I’ll be okay. Never knowing what waits for me around the corner.”

“Welcome to reality. We’ve been here for a while,” Laylen says and pats the table. She shoots him a glare and he shrinks back. “Sorry.”

This book broke my heart a million times, shattered my feelings a billion times and made my heart flutter and at the same time ache a trillion times. That's how this book made an impact on me. NOT TO MENTION THE LOVE RECTANGLE SURFACING AROUND THIS SERIES. It was very enthralling and appalling that I couldn't ask for more.
I catch my breath and sit at the edge of the fountain. “So what was—is the three Queens rivalry about?”

He joins me at the fountain and swirls the water with his fingertips. “Love.”

My jaw drops as I stutter for words. “H-huh?”

“What? You thought it was going to be something petty like power or world domination.” He laughs half-heartedly. “Not this time, Gemma. Nope, this time it’s about something deeper.”

PLEASE GIVE ME BOOK 2!!!!!!!!!

THE LOST SOUL (Fallen Souls #1) by Jessica Sorensen

THE LOST SOUL is the first book in Jessica Sorensen’s Fallen Souls series-a spin off from her popular Fallen Star series. Like the Fallen Star series, The Lost Soul features many of the characters from the original series including Gemma Lucas, Alex, Aislin, Laylen and Nicholas. The requisite dark side returns, when the Queen of the Underworld continues to push the boundaries, needing homes for her lost souls. Fey, witches, vampires and demons all vie for the upper hand in a power struggle between good and evil. The action is fast paced and draws the reader immediately into the storyline.

Gemma Lucas is almost 18years old, a Keeper, a Foreseer and in love with Alex. Once she held the power of a star, she is now on a mission to free her father from the Room of the Forbidden. But Gemma’s visions and dreams have once again become life-like and the premonitions and warnings are too strong to ignore, especially when the Queen of the Underworld crosses over onto their plane of existence. Only in this vision, Alex disappears and Gemma is unable to find out where he has gone.

Alex knows that Gemma’s dreams and nightmares have become more frequent, with warnings of blood, death and possession. Since her father has been sentenced to the Room of the Forbidden for breaking the rules, Gemma’s only thoughts have been to find a way to free her father, but breaking the rules could place Gemma in the same predicament as her father. It is only when Alex disappears does Gemma realize that perhaps her one sided endeavor is risking more lives than just her own. And Alex’s rescue and return is not the happily-ever-after of fairy tales and romance. Something about Alex has changed.

The three queens-Essence, Afterlife and Underworld continue their sibling rivalry, but Alex and Gemma become pawns in a fight that will see jealousy and hatred eat away until one sister has total control and the man that she has always wanted. And the man has connections to someone close to Gemma and her friends. As Helena’s powers increase, Gemma’s human frailty becomes more evident with every situation that she pursues.

As a witch, Aislin continues to find a way to increase her powers, but sometimes her magic backfires and when this happens, Gemma and the others will find themselves facing a portal into another realm, where nightmares really do come true. Trapped with no way of escape, the duo will get help from an unlikely hero, who has eyes only for Gemma. But Nicholas is not willing to help out of the goodness of his heart.

Nicholas continues his pursuit of Gemma, even though Gemma is clearly in love with Alex. But Nicholas’s attempts to both shield and protect, are masked by the double speak where only he knows the truth about the 3 queens and their war. Betrayal and lies follow Gemma, but it is the revelation about Alex’s family and their connection to the Queen, that will have Gemma trapped with no way of escape. And in the end, two souls will find a way to reunite, and Alex and Gemma will have no control over the outcome when Laylen becomes an integral part of the war.

THE LOST SOUL is the continuing story of Gemma Lucas and her fight to discover who and what she is. Eliminating the Death Walkers and fighting the fey in The Fallen Star series had previously given Gemma a purpose, but discovering some unknown facts about her family, may prove to be a bigger obstacle than her missing powers. And when the Queen of the Underworld releases the lost souls, no one is safe, not even a friend or someone you love.

Jessica Sorensen writes a wonderful and fascinating storyline that is sure to please, especially for the fans of her Fallen Star series. To be honest, I would suggest reading her Fallen Star series, where many of The Lost Soul characters grow and develop their own personalities and storylines. If you are new to Jessica Sorensen there will be plenty of background information missing in The Lost Soul-information that can only be found in The Fallen Star series.

I am reviewing the novel The Lost Soul by Jessica Sorensen which is a very good fantasy novel which I bought from kindle. This is the first book in the Fallen Soul series & I think her ebooks are reasonably priced. I think she did a Lost Soul series too and they are essentially the same story but one is for young adults & the other is for adults. The 2 lead characters are both called keepers & I think basically they have super powers and have to protect mortals from things like faeries & vampires. The lady in it lost her father to the Queen of the Underworld some time ago. Her fellow keeper, Alexander, the lost soul of the title is helping her get her father back. He is training her in how to fight the various entities when the Queen of the Underworld claims him. The 2 have a kind of romantic relationship & she sets out to find him. Somebody called Aislin tells she must acivate extreme emotion within him to break the spell when she finds him. She also tells her there is a price for giving her that information and she will have to do something unspecified for her. She does find Alex and he is the 1st soul the Queen of the Underworld has ever lost. She doesn't rescue her father in this book but that will probably happen later in the series. I don't think this series is as good as the Darkness Falls series. Both of the books in that series so far I have reviewed. I think Jessica is a good writer & have enjoyed all the books I have read by her so far.

WHAT. THE. HECK?!

Poor Gemma.
She just can not catch a break.
In the the Fallen Star series, there are FOUR books of non stop problems, running, and hiding.
And now this book with that damn queen of the after life, messes everything up. It's crazy how long of a list her problems are.
SMH.
I loved it all though. This world of Keepers, Forseers, vampires, witches, everything, is interesting.

Spoilers:

Laylen. Is he for real a good guy? Or a trick. I don't see what he could get out of tricking Gemma. But what the Helena said about the guys in Gemmas life... Which one is Laylen?

Nicolas. Thank you Jesus that the serpent marking on his back is the cause for Gemmas dreams of Nick, and not some weird attraction. Maybe it is. But I hope not.

Gemma. This a character that drives me crazy. I think the term is martyr? Always wanting to save others. Who cares if her life is at risk.
Not.
I hate when all she wants to do is take these risks, and all she does is drag people down with her. She's a major problem causer.
Sigh.
And now, she's flippin possessed by Helena?! I was wondering what the heck was going on with her after the fall from the window. I thought something flipped and she now wanted to be evil? Nope. Just Helena. Causing Gemma to brake the law and cause more problems.

I can't wait to see how they're all going to get out of this one.

!!!!!!!!! - This is me jumping up and down as there is a follow up on The fallen star series. I found a bit of a change in the style of writing but it was an action packed book where there is always 2 or more things going on in which everyone is trying to be a hero.

This book opens up new traits in each character. I mean, you have Alex, a guy who will do anything for Gemma but could he be hiding a secret that will ruin everything, or will his love for her be the death of them all. Then you have Gemma herself who is still finding new things about herself everyday. Everyone is trying to save her but could it be her fault that they're in this mess in the first place. Laylen, the gentle vampire who tried to keep out of trouble couldn't have been more in it, but will he fight or just give in to the evil inside of him leaving Aislin, the witch who has always cared for him to try to clear up the mess she can, only for it to go even more terribly wrong.

In this book Nicholas shows some new colors and I am wondering if his trickster act was just that - an act, or whether he is still the Nicholas we will always remember. Cannot wait to read the next book. :) :)

DONT like it as much as I did the fallen star trilogy, but it was a good spin-off.
In the last series I liked the fact that Nicholas had a chance, you see I have sort of fallen for him and fallen out of love with Alex, so the fact that he weren't in it much as is now stuck somewhere- god knows where doesn't bode we'll with me.
Considering that I was really, really looking forward to this and was overwhelmingly excited at the fact that Gemma's story wasn't over and there was still a chance for her to end up with Nicholas was amazing, but is has left me a little disappointed- I expected more from this book than it delivered.

And I don't know if it was the same for me as everyone else but I found this book really confusing up until half way through which was quite frustrating,

On the other hand, it picks up right were the fallen star trilogy ended.
And Nicholas turned out to be the son of the empress of the Fey. Which only makes him more appealing if you ask me.
The ending was really exciting too, just makes you want to jump up and down in anticipation for the next book.
Ill have to wait and see maybe book #2 will be better.

HOT DAMN!

Ok, so I was about like 50% through and was getting really frustrated cause I had like NO idea what the hell was going on. I mean, everyone had something different going on. Then there were the dreams, or whatever they were, just made me even more confused cause some might have happened others might happen and others were just complete bull crap. To be honest I am still kind of confused on some things. The whole thing with the 3 sisters and Luna + the problem with the dad and the vision Helena wants to change, which I still don't know what vision it is, and how that's going to change, or to what. Again, all very confusing

But then it started to all come together, or at least enough for me to start making sense of somethings, and then all the little revelations start popping out and then the ending! omg! Can't wait to find out how they get out of this one!

Read from 03/24/13 thru 03/28/13 all 6 books that has been released so far (The Fallen Star Series 1-4) *1 The Fallen Star, *2 The Underworld, *3 The Vision, *4 The Promise and then the continuation or spin off of the fallen star series goes into Fallen Souls *1 The Lost Soul. Then Shatter Promised Series- *1 The Shatter Promised Adult version of the Fallen Star Series where Gemma is 21 and Alex is 23 with a different twist.

I started reading this books a few days ago and just kept reading each book one after another and couldnt get enough of this Paranormal series. I read it in order to avoid any chaotic confusion. I cannot wait for the last book of The Lost Soul Series and 2 more books on the Shattered Promise series.

I love all the characters which include Gemma, Alex, Laylen, Ainsley, Nicholas, a lot of witches, feys, banshees, black angels, vampires, foreseers, etc. There is so much humor through out plus action, romance, kidnapping, supernatural powers, did I mention each book with a tremendous cliffhanger.....hope you enjoy!!

The Lost Soul is the first book in the series of Fallen Souls, a Fallen Star spin-off. So, Gemma and the her friend is back and new enemies. While planning on freeing her father from the Room of Forbidden, Lost Souls cross over into the Real World. Alex disappears. As Gemma search for him, she discovered the secret he's been hiding.

Alex got possessed. It was really frustrating. He's hurting Gemma too much. And Nicholas is willing to play his part in everything. He's annoying. I was confused of why the 3 Queens are after Gemma soul, the secret of Alex, the history of Alex and Gemma souls intertwined and lastly I want to know and understand the loopholes. Although, it was confusing, I liked the concept of the book. It was refreshing. I'd loved to read the next book and find out the questions that keeps on bugging me. It's really going to be exciting now that Gemma's possessed. Twisted, right?

The Fallen Soul books are pegged as being a spin-off from the Fallen Star series, but really the first instalment just picks off from the end of book 4 – which is marvelous for us and how most of Sorensen’s fans would want it. The book slinks back into a familiar pace and style, and you just know you’re in for a damn good read.

The four main characters remain unchanged i.e. handsome Alex is firecly protective of Gemma, who is as headstrong as ever, Nicolas is annoying and cryptic as before, Laylen and Aislin continue to hide their feelings as the world is firmly stacked against them. The new ‘loophole’ in the unbreakable bond between Gemma and Alex provides the storyline’s new direction, along with an abundance of unexpected problems for the characters, although it can be a tad confusing sometimes. All-in-all another fab product from Sorensen factory; looking forward to the next one.
