The dragon veil has recently opened, allowing dragons to pass from the human dimension into the dragonlands. They left behind Cosmo and his two brothers, Cullen and Corbin, to guard the gateway between worlds. Cosmo has never really fit into any dimension, being half dragon and half fae, so he figures it's a pretty good life, especially since he'll never have a mate. And then he meets Hawk.
Hawk is old. Old enough to have forgotten whole centuries. But when he wakes to find his house has moved to Cosmo's place, he discovers a whole new interest in life. Cosmo is perfect for him, but Hawk has some convincing to do as he and Cosmo try to come together and bridge the gap between human, fae, and dragon while they start a family of their own.
Minerva Howe is the kinky alter ego of author Julia Talbot. Julia lives in the great Southwest, where there is hot and cold running rodeo, cowboys, and everything from meat and potatoes to the best Tex-Mex. A full time author, Julia has been published by Samhain as well as other publishing houses. She believes that everyone deserves a happy ending, so she writes about love without limits, where boys love boys, girls love girls, and boys and girls get together to get wild, especially when her crazy paranormal characters are involved.
Pals, gather round, Minerva has a new series in the dragon veil universe! It's no secret that I really enjoy Minerva's books. And this one is no exception. We're following this time the half fae triplets, starting with Cosmo. It's a good one, with special complexities added with Hawk being old and Cosmo being half fae, a seer and his role. This is, in my opinion, a series that fully depends on reading the series that before, as many side characters were main ones before and old events influence the starting point of the series. It does add more to the enjoyability to have the full context. And Minerva does really good books so it won't be a hardship
I loved it. It’s amazing how the author has done all of these stories, those in this series and the other series as well. I love each individual story and the overall arc that’s added to with each read. I knew that the triplets were amazing. It is so great to get Cosmo and Hawk’s story. I can’t wait for Cullen and Corbins’s to come. Though I am a bit worried about the visions. But I wasn’t worried about where Hawk could go.
So I’m not sure what happened here. I love this author’s books, unusually my go to read for this type of book. For some reason it just didn’t hit right. I feel like I’m missing something. Was there a book or series needed before I read this book? I’m not sure but I was missing a few things. The writing was a little disjointed also. Hopping other books hit better.
So excited to begin this series. The triplets are gonna find their mates. Starting off with Cosmo. Hawk and Cosmo instantly clicked and their romance was sweet and steamy...I totally enjoyed their connection and the continued connection with the other dragons beyond the veil. This was so adorable and cool...I can't wait to read more in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Cosmo, A Dragon Veil Universe Novel by Minerva Howe, is the first book in her Dragon Guardians series. It is the story of an old dragon who is exploring magical happenings when he finds his mate in one of the triplets who are guarding the Veil from danger. Hawk Fitzhugh is a very old dragon who was asleep for two decades. When he awakens in a cave he discovers that his house in northern California is missing. He decides to look for it and something calls him to Colorado where he finds it and the triplets who are guarding the Veil to keep harmful beings from entering the Summerland as well as the Dragonlands. Cosmo, Cullen, and Corbin are half fae, half dragon and have been called to be the Guardians of the Veil which divides the human world from the Summerland, where the fae live and where they grew up, and the Dragonlands where all of the dragons retreated when they were threatened by Vampires and other creatures who want them for their blood. Each of them has a special power, Cosmo is a seer, Cullen can manipulate his magic, and Corbin has a way with growing things and they can talk to each other through their bond. They are very close and have just started to explore the house where they live and the doorways through the Veil to the other lands. Cosmo has a vision of a huge black dragon flying overhead and it turns out to be Hawk who has come looking for his house which is where they are living. When he talks to Cosmo and touches him there is an immediate spark that keeps developing the more they were together. They explore the house and their surroundings and Hawk realizes that Cosmo is who drew him to the area and Cosmo had seen him in his visions so they knew they were supposed to be together. This led them to their bedroom where they had some very hot love scenes. Meanwhile Cosmo’s brothers were teasing them but also realized that Hawk was sent to them to be another guardian and help them when the Vampires came back. One of the main worries was that the dragons couldn’t cross back across the veil and if Hawk went to them he wouldn’t be able to come back either. He had been very lonely for so long that Cosmo worried that he wouldn’t be happy being with just the brothers but Hawk knew that Cosmo was his mate and he loved him so he would be content being with him. Then Cosmo went into heat with the expected outcome and they were very happy they were going to become fathers. When two of the young dragons got lost, Cosmo was their savior with some help from Hawk, his brothers, and the other dragons. And this is where Hawk learned something that made both him and Cosmo very happy. The story ends with the baby being born and their love growing to include all 3 of them. I enjoyed this book. It is an interesting take on the paranormal world of dragons and fae. We get to know all of the guardians which include Cosmo and his brothers as well as Hawk, how they came to be, and how their house and everything around them was changing. Cosmo is a sweet but feisty dragon who takes his job very seriously. Hawk had a lot to learn but his love for Cosmo was always at the forefront of his actions. There wasn’t a big battle with the Vampires in this story but Cosmo sees it coming in his visions so I believe this will be happening in upcoming books and I am excited to see where it is going because it is sure to be an epic battle. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like paranormal stories about older/younger dragons who fall in love while having a big job to do in saving their world.
Right off the bat I have to say, I can’t WAIT for Corbin and Cullen’s books to come out!!! I wish this book had been like the fae dragon triplets and been “eternally bonded” into one box set so I didn’t have to wait!
Cosmo was adorable, heck, all three brothers were. Each of the triplets had a specific gift and were a different color; Cosmo was pink, Corbin was green and Cullen was purple. I know we were told that they were supposed to be these fierce guardians but, I’m like Hawk, I just couldn’t see it. Even when Hawk showed up, this giant dragon, flying in out of nowhere, they didn’t do anything and that’s even after Cosmo had a vision suggesting that he might be dangerous.
An old, ancient, obviously powerful dragon, Hawk was the sweetest thing to Cosmo. There was no initial animosity between them like in a lot of romances (even though they were living in his missing house—just roll with it, it’ll make sense once you read the book) he took one look at Cosmo and knew he had finally found his mate. We didn’t have to wait forever, wondering: will they, won’t they? They fell in love and mated right away, kinda instalove except for dragons. My favorite kind!
Although we got a few hints that danger may be on its way and things wouldn’t always be so peaceful, this one was pretty much angst free and that’s my favorite kind.
I absolutely loved this book and really can’t wait for the other two brothers’ books, this one was THAT good. My only complaint, and honestly, the book was so good that I just skipped right over it, but at times, it was a little difficult to figure out who was talking without having to back up a few sentences to try to figure it out. If I couldn’t tell right off, I didn’t sweat it, I attributed it to the most likely dragon and rocked on. I didn’t feel like I really missed anything so I guess it worked 🤷♀️.
I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love the Dragon Veil Universe! It's so good to be back and, this time, to see the triplets get their HEA. We originally met them in the previous series. This does stand as a standalone series but because of the amount of previous characters and the set up of what the triplets are in place for, it makes sense to start from the beginning as the Dragon Veil Universe is created. Cosmo and Hawk are a great couple. Each one lifting the other - Hawk having been asleep for many years now has Cosmo to help guide him through the modern world and have something to be awake for. Cosmo is now one of three guardians to the entrance to the Dragon Veil, along with his two triplet brothers (Cullen and Corbin). He loves what they do but also doesn't feel that he brings much to the team. Hawk is great for his self esteem and I love it as he becomes part of the family. It's not an ordinary house either so magic ensues throughout. We get to catch up with the families that have found their HEAs before and crossed into the Dragon Veil Universe, as the triplets are treated like part of the family and there is the normal love, annoyances and friendships that come with a close community. Another recommended read from Minerva Howe and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens for Corbin and Cullen. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
Cosmo, Cullen and Corbin, triplets, have an important job of guarding the veil between the worlds. The three brothers are part fae and part dragon. Their house is growing and they are happy to be the guardians. Being half and half, they figured this is their best future. Hawk is an old dragon and slept through the opening of the veil. He awakes in a cave without his house. Following his instincts, he finds his house and, more importantly, he finds Cosmo. He is delighted as Cosmo is his mate, but meshing the various personalities, needs and species is proving challenging.
Cosmo, Cullen and Corbin each have a different color and talent. Each of those talents becomes important as the story progresses. Cosmo and Hawk were beautiful together while they explored their love and the problems of being guardians and balancing relationships on all side of the veil. They are on the road to a happily ever after but Cosmos has a vision of trouble coming, setting the scene for future stories. Another exciting series, Minerva Howe weaves in other series with this one making the reading so much fun. Hop on for the new adventure! You will be glad you did. I received a complementary copy and this is my own opinion
- Fated Mates - Age Gap - Dragons & Fae - Omegaverse - MPREG - Opposites Attract
Minerva is back with a new series in the Dragon Veil Universe and we get to see the dragon/fae triplets become the guardians of the veil and find their fated mates. First up is Cosmo, and he's in for a surprise when a very ancient dragon finds them in the mountain with part of his house now magically attached to theirs. These two have to navigate how to stay together without trapping Hawk on the other side of the veil, all while waiting for their little one to arrive. Cosmo is a seer, so he has seen a threat that will hit them in the future but no one knows when. The group starts to prepare as they all settle into their new dynamic as guardians and family.

What an excellent start to a new series! The story of Cosmo and Hawk is filled with lots of love, great friends, family and a whole gaggle of little ones and is an absolute must read! After the opening of the veil to the dragon world, Cosmo and his two brothers, triplets who are half dragon and half fae, have been chosen to guard the entrance between the two worlds. A vision of a large dragon that Cosmo sees isn’t the danger he first believes but the arrival of his mate who has finally come home to his house, which has moved. I love how Hawk manages to get in the good graces of Cosmo’s brothers especially once he realizes Cosmo is his mate. He will find an old friend in the library and will gain some wisdom at the same time. Cosmo and his brothers can be silly and with all the dragons who have recently crossed over and their wonderful children, there is a wonderful sense of joy throughout the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I can’t wait to read what comes next!
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
4 stars, I really enjoy reading Minerva's dragon series and this new series seems to follow the last book from the Dragon Prophecy series, Shadow Dragon. The veil has opened and the three triplet brothers Cosmo, Cullen and Corbin are guarding the entrance, but this book is about Cosmo who like his brothers is part fae and part dragon, but is also a seer, and prone to visions.
Meantime Hawk is an ancient dragon who had been asleep for almost 2 decades, waking up after the veil opened without crossing it and found that his house had disappeared and moved to Colorado, where the brothers are now living.
The attraction is instant which is ok as mates (i'm usually not into instalove stories but these are different), and these books tend to be dream-like in the way the relationship progresses in terms of already accepting their places with each other.
Another lovely novel of the Dragon Veil Universe to enjoy with gradual changes to the environment for the next stages of the series.
I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.
Minerva Howe's stories are like a good sweet for me. I tend to get so invested in the characters who are unique in their special powers but usually so vulnerable in a way that makes me root for them to find someone to love. This one was no different. Cosmo, half dragon, half fae and along with Cullen and Corbin - they are triplets - are left to guard the veil between dragon lands and the earth. He believes he will live a dutiful life but not have a mate. And then there was Hawk, an old dragon who comes along and it turns out there is something there between them. They are fated mates and Hawk has followed his house that has moved to Cosmo's place - how is that for a GPS to take you where you need to be! This was another neat, uplifting story. It is so wonderful when earnest folks who have been on their own find their person and create a family to add to this community. I received an ARC from GRR and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the start to another great series set in the Dragon Veil Universe. Obviously, anything set in the Dragon Veil Universe is a ‘one click’ and I was not disappointed with this book. I would really recommend anyone to read the rest of the books set in this Universe as it does make a lot more sense if you know and, really, why would you not? I had hoped that this Universe would continue as there was a lot more we need to know. We start this series with one the half dragon, half fae triplets and Guardians to the Veil, Cosmo. Cosmo and his mate Hawk make a good team, both bringing their best to each other’s lives which are now eternally entwined. It was so good to also get a peek at the other side of the Veil and to catch up with a few of our old friends. I am now eagerly looking forward to Corbin and Cullen’s stories, the scene has been set for a lot more to come.
Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.
Cosmo and his two brothers, Cullen and Corbin, were left to guard the getaway between worlds, when the dragon veil opened, allowing dragons to pass from the human dimension into the dragonlands. Cosmo figures since he is half dragon and half fae, he isn’t going to get a mate and is content with his life.
Hawk is old and uninterested in his life. When he wakes up and finds out that his house moved to Cosmo’s place, he doesn’t think so anymore. With everything that is going on in the world, they start building a relationship and eventually a family. I loved their chemistry and passion. They were made for each other.
Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a mpreg, MM, dragon shifter romance then you’re going to love it.
Cosmo, A Dragon Veil Universe Novel is the first book in Minerva Howe's Dragon Guardians series. A spin off from the Dragon Veil series, there are side characters from the earlier books. But it can be read alone without any confusion. I love Minerva Howe's dragon stories. They're always fun reads. But Cosmo, Cullen, and Corbin just have to be her most precious cuties ever. Cosmo didn't think that he'd get a mate being half dragon, half fae. Then he sees Hawk, a very large, very old dragon in a vision. Hawk is perfect. He realizes he's Cosmo's mate and allays his fears. There's a bit of steam. Just a bit of angst. Great worldbuilding. Excellent supporting characters. A quick and fun read. It's a good start to this new series. Can't wait til his brothers find their mates. I received an advanced copy through GRR and this is my review.
A cuddly, sweet story about a small pink dragon/fae and seer named Cosmo, and his mate Hawk, an ancient huge black-scaled, fire-breathing dragon. This takes place in a peculiar house on the nexus of at least four worlds. The household is completed by Cosmo's other triplet brothers, Corbin the grower and Cullen the illusion creator, and Bakli, a wise older nisse.
It follows Cosmo and Hawk as they learn and make their way through love, brothers, visions, other dragon families, and catching Hawk up on what he slept through. Dragon babies and children, what could be more adorable and warmly fuzzy? Nothing, I tell you. Nothing!
I enjoyed reading and am supremely satisfied by having read this book. I enthusiastically recommend it!
I am thrilled that there is another set of dragon triplets, and I was captivated by these three colorful brothers. Cosmo, affectionately Rosie, is absolutely adorable. He is a cute little spitfire and I enjoyed seeing him and his mate become acquainted. Hawk taught them about the old, while the brothers taught him about the new.
I was so happy these brothers were connected to the other dragons that I’ve come to know and love, and to see some of those interactions. I had forgotten there were so many kids. Like, all the kids. I really like how Minerva Howe continues to weave this dragon universe together, introducing new concepts that provide more insight to what we already know, while showing different views of the same situation, and more and different ways of how their worlds are impacted by the veil.
I loved this book. The plot and the characters are all so intriguing, and the world building is just amazing. The idea of disappearing, moving, or morphing houses is just so original and cool! Imagine that you are in a house where a new room or door suddenly appears, or the house itself is suddenly in a different part of the country! I really got a kick out of the wonderful humour and banter in the story. I love the beautiful and caring relationships between Cosmo and his two brothers, and between Cosmo and Hawk. Minerva Howe's storytelling never disappoints me. Although Cosmo and Hawk get their HEA in this book, the overarching plot of their guardianship over the connected worlds will continue into the next book. I can't wait to read it! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
doesn’t hesitate to face it. And in the process, they find that their lives are even better than it seems.
This is a new spin off series in Minerva Howe’s larger Dragon Veil Universe. I’ve not read any of those books and it worked against the story for me. While there is a lot of information about the past series and the troubles the dragons faced, it wasn’t quite enough to bring me fully in the loop. So I would suggest reading those books before jumping into this one.
Overall, this is mostly a sweet story of two men finding each other and instantly connecting. There’s not much talk of mates and love, it just is a given that’s what’s going on.
"Hawk waxed poetic for him, and it made his heart melt."
This is the first book in a new series, Dragon Guardians, by Minerva Howe. This series is set in the Dragon Veil Universe which I am so excited about. I was scared to death that this series was going to end before we found out more about everyone from the prior books and series. Whew, it's such a relief.
This new series is about half fae and half dragon triplet brothers that are set up as guardians to protect the gateway between the human world, the dragon dimension of Lunastra and the Land of Summer.
We get to see tons of characters from the prior series along with new characters. It's so much fun. If you enjoy the rest of the books in this universe I highly recommend this new series.
So, excite that the author decided to continue on with this world, which I absolutely love. So, Cosmo and his two brothers are tasked to guard the gateway between our world and apparently many others. Cosmo is kind of a seer and has a vision of a dragon that scares him. Hawk is an ancient dragon who has been asleep for centuries & slept through the opening of the gate back to his world. He does awaken & ends up making his way to Cosmos' home and finding part of his home that had disappeared, along with his hoard, etc. Cosmo's brothers don't trust Hawk, even though Cosmo knows that Hawk is his. The other issue is that if dragons go through the gateway, then they can never return. This breaks Hawk's heart that he will never see his homeland again. Cosmo & his brothers are able to freely move between worlds. I loved watching them explore the house/homes and falling him love. I can't wait for the brothers to find their mates and maybe exploration of some of the other worlds that we have not seen yet.
I recevied a copy of this book from GRR, and this is my honest review.
I adored Hawk and Cosmo's story. As in the tradition of most dragon shifter tales, dragons do not dally when they find their mate. This story moves fast. I did feel that this story can be confusing to anyone who has not read some of the previous stories in this universe. While I enjoyed it immensely, if you are not familiar with the stories before, the cameos do not make sense. I felt this story could be drawn out a bit more, but perhaps that is just because I love this universe. There is a reference to an enemy that is repeated often, yet does not appear in this story (foreshadowing perhaps)? If you love MM shifter romances these will not disappoint.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Cosmo and his two brothers were left behind when the dragon veil was opened to act as guardians between the worlds. Each of them has a unique ability since they are half dragon/half fae. Hawk wakes up to find that his house has gone missing, so he begins the slow journey of trying to find where his house has disappeared to. He watched Cosmo and his brothers for a couple of days before deciding to approach them, because he felt a pull towards one of them.
Hawk and Cosmo were perfect for each other and complement each other well. I enjoyed getting a peek at how all the dragons that crossed over the dragon veil from the previous series were doing. I can't wait to see how Corbin and Cullen's mates show up and the craziness that happens then.
Cosmo and Hawk story was sweet and endearing with a side of evolving mystery, new discoveries, unknown secrets, and reunions with the others couples and growing families. You can expect numerous shenanigans, joy and laughter of the little ones, exploration of the kids, and numerous adventures. I liked their chemistry and dynamics, the family bonding, and their sweet loving moments. I adored the birthing scene that was quite emotional, the encompassing joy and happiness they have for their little one, and the family support they get. It was sweet and I'm looking forward to see what happens next.
Cosmo, Cullen and Corbin are half dragon half fae and are the chosen ones to protect the entrance to the veil. As triplets they are very close, each with their own special power and color. Their home at the edge of the veil is a combination of three houses. Hawk is a black dragon who just awoke from a very long sleep, his home is now part of the guardians home. The three brothers welcome Hawk but are skeptical of his intentions. This book was very fun to read, the brothers are comical and poor Hawk has so much history to catch up on. The storyline is full of love, drama, friendship and lots of baby dragons.
I love this authors works and this was a great addition to the dragon world. Cosmo and his brothers Cordin and Cullen as guardians for the dragons. Being half fae/half dragon, they are perfect for the job. Hawk is an old dragon who woke up after 20 years of sleep. He is in California bit felt he was being called to Colorado. After meeting Cosmo, he realized that he finally met his mate. This is the start of their relationship with high heat and chemistry. Love this world and cannot wait to read when the brothers find their mates.
I was kind of worried when the dragons all moved to the other side of the Veil that we would not have any more Dragon stories. So I was very excited to see first of the Guardian stories with Cosmo finding his mate. Cosmo and his twin brothers who are half dragon, half fae, are the new guardians of the entrance to the Veil. Hawk is a dragon that was asleep for a very, very long time and upon awaking found his house had moved. When he found his house he also found his mate. More adventures are still to come and I am excited.
This is the first book in a new series in the dragon veil world featuring three guardians to the veil. Cosmo is one of the brothers, a half fae/half dragon sweetheart. Hawk is an older grumpy dragon who was hibernating and now is searching for his missing house. Which turns out to be with the gaurdians. This is a super sweet, insta love, fated mates romance with of course a baby. We also get to see cameos from our favorite dragon couple from prior books. This was very enjoyable and I’m looking forward to reading the more.
Outstanding! The dragons are back. Cosmo and his brothers were left behind to protect the gateway. Cosmo, has never felt he fit in, so the job suits him. Hawk, is seriously old and is shocked to find his house moved to Cosmo's. He's experiencing new things and finds he enjoys them. He finds Cosmo and knows he instantly meets his mate. Absolutely exciting to get the brothers' story and watch the courtships. Cosmo and Hawk are delightful. Great start to the series. Another Minerva home run! Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this story. I like the premise of three half fae, half dragon brothers being guardians between the realms. Cosmo is pink, rosy, and gets premonitions. His alpha dragon mate Hawk had been sleeping for decades when he woke to find his house missing. He feels the pull to his home and finds Cosmo. I liked how the house was constantly changing and adapting to their needs. Cosmo and Hawk are super sweet together. I loved how Cosmo's brothers are really protective of him when they first met Hawk. I'm looking forward to reading their stories.
