Why is Anna broken? Because Spike has gone missing in Central America. Right when her life was finally starting to get put back together.

Naturally, she sets out to find him. How hard could road-tripping through three of the most dangerous countries in the world with a truckload of weapons possibly be? Harder than she thought. Which is why she enlists the help of some unlikely allies—some of which might be planning to kill her. Kill being a lose term. More like torture to death or blow to smithereens.

Burned by S.M. Reeve (Anna Croix Series Book 3).
As usual, I re-read the previous books in this series, to make sure I was completely up to date with the overall series story arc and to keep track of who is who and their interactions with Anna. In my opinion this book 3 is not a stand-alone book, there are a lot of references to events that have happened in previous books and consequences of those events are what makes up the main story arc in this book. I like the slow burn of a romance/relationship between Anna and Spike. After a slow start, I enjoyed the story but readers be aware that there is a lot of action/vigilante justice/violence portrayed on the page. This book ends with a twist and I am looking forward to the next book and the chaos that surrounds Anna. My suggestion for readers new to this series is to start with Book 1 and read this series in order. Make sure you also read the short stories about Wes and Spike which you will get by subscribing to the author's newsletter. A great read.

This book started very slowly with very little action. Once Anna started on her mission the pace picked up.
Even more graphic than previous outings for Anna, both home & abroad. It gets dirty. Wonder if there’s more to the story, due to the surprise ending!

Spike goes missing and is kidnapped in Central America. Anna puts together a team and heads out to rescue Spike. Heading through some very dangerous territory, they pinpoint where he is being held. A fast paced thriller.

I devoured this story and I loved Estrella, what a great read!!! This one was one thrill ride to the next with Anna pushing herself and bringing revenge as only Anna can do. The end was truly unexpected and I can hardly wait for the next book. Another ten star read!! I love her crazy!

Another on the edge of the seat ride into the world of Anna Croix, all the usual twists and turns, thrills and spills expected from this Author's books, I enjoyed it sure you will too

I see this is the 3rd book with these characters and what engaging characters they are.
A story with plenty of action, twists and breath holding moments.

Burned by S. M. Reeve is the third book in the Anna Croix Series, and I have read the first 2. I have been eagerly awaiting this book as I absolutely love SM Reeves writing style and the books are action packed. So, the pressure was on right from the very start.
I love Anna as a character she is sassy, brave, strong but with a hint of ironic humour and wit and the book did make me smile in places. This book is every bit as good as the previous ones in the series and although can be read as a stand alone I highly recommend you read them as well, as they provide added insight and depth to Annas character.
Burned is a seriously fast paced action packed, adrenaline pumping thriller, that I needed to run to keep up with. Reeves way of telling a story is superb and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what will come next the whole way through the book, and if you think you know, think again. It has so many surprises keeping you on the edge of your seat all the way through.
In conclusion, an action packed, fast paced thriller that will keep you enthralled and wondering whatever can happen next. If you love thrillers with action and adventure this is one for you and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
