Electi Academy #1

Wicked Heirs

Rate this book
Venomous. Heartless. Filthy.
My tormentors have made a grave mistake.
I bow to no one.

When I’m forced to enroll in Electi Academy, being thrust into the supernatural world is the last thing I want.
I was happy living in the human world away from the burden of duty and expectations.
But an unfortunate incident sets me on this different track.
On my first day, I’m targeted by three powerful beings who want me to pay for the sins of my family.
They call themselves Obsidian.
Black hearts.
Black souls.
Dark deeds.

Orpheus Hart – the Dark Fae Prince, heir to the Dark Fae Kingdom. He’s the ruthless leader of these dark horses. Vengeful and devious, he seeks justice through pain and brutality.
Talon Creed – a Phoenix, an orphan hiding from his legacy. Volatile and damaged, he thrives on destruction.
Xavier Sabre – a rare Vampire-Sorcerer hybrid fighting against his nature. He’s the most balanced and diplomatic of the three, but his dark allure makes him just as dangerous.

When I refuse to pay for sins that aren’t my own, things escalate dangerously.
They’re forcing my hand.
It’s time to show them the real me.
I might be a Nephilim, but I’m not the innocent angel they think I am.
They’re in for a smiting they’ll never forget.
Vengeance is thy name.
This is what you’ve wrought, fools.

This is a Dark Paranormal Academy Reverse Harem Romance with scenes of M/M.
The story concludes in FALLEN HEIRS.

This was all over the place and made no sense. It felt like the author was making stuff up as they go. It's marketed as enemies to lovers but they quickly become lovers 30% in. We don't even get to see any 'bullying' or anything else. Apparently little pranks were played on her and we never saw it. It was only mentioned later on when they were already together. Absolutely no world building. We're suppose to know what the 'catalysm' was and what happened without any information? We would randomly jump to a different scene without any explanation. Smut scenes were very cringe and I found myself skimming them. Also, Ore's little secret relationship with his professor felt weird since they're already in a poly relationship ship? I did not enjoy this.

uhm. (slight spoiler)

Well.. this could’ve been way better. Enemies to lovers very abruptly- no build up. Barely any povs from Alena. World building could’ve been much better… and what is this thing going on with the prof. and Orpheus behind the others back.. and why is Tal not saying anything about it and acting like that wasn’t a big deal.. Orpheus acts likes he so into this girl and Tal but is doing stuff with the prof behind their back. How gross…. Hope that is addressed. Didn’t love this overall.

Not much of a story

DNF 50% through and I don’t think I’m going to finish. I was honestly looking forward to this but 50% through and there just isn’t a story happening. All that’s occurred is relationship stuff but not even well done in the building of it. And the story is told so much through the males that you never get that chance to truly connect with the FMC or any character really. It’s also a bit choppy and jumps a lot. There really just isn’t much story, build up or even real connection going on. Sadly disappointed.

This took me so long to finish, I technically DNFd at 90%. The story was choppy, jumped from POV so rapidly that there were huge gaps in time. The magic system was never explained, the world building was practically non existent, and the cheating at the end was a huge turn off. Sex scenes were fine but it felt like the only goal at times was shock factor of what was occurring. Had so much potential but I won’t be finishing the series

DNF'ed at 28%. This was a struggle.

This is a first from this author for me, and perhaps I just do not jive with their writing style, but it felt like bad young adult writing paired with cringey spice scenes.

But beyond the prose itself, the plot was just...not there. We don't (at 30%) know what the Cataclysm is, even though it's mentioned on every single page and the characters (including the FMC) all know about it. We could have done with a little inner monologuing on it, please and thank you. The m/m relationship is borderline abusive, and the pet name used during spicy scenes is "baby bird" ugghhhhhhh. Also, one of the MMCs dresses in purple and black, and we then go on to find out that his entire suite is ALSO in purple and black, including the damn wallpaper. Are we in a 2000's girl's college dorm room?? Why do these MMCs never have some normal rooms?!

Anyway...I'm not sure who I would recommend this book to. Someone who only wants the lightest of light academic bullying stories?

3.5

This book was a roller coaster for me. I liked the beginning with the drama and relationship building. But then, the story lost me. It was almost like Alena became this sticky sweet perfect person who was just exactly what every guy needed when they needed it. She was so forgiving of their flaws and their wrongs against her. It kind of detracted from who I thought she was in the beginning.
Then, the whole Orpheus and the professor thing...um, lets set aside the fact that the guy was a professor. After all, Orpheus is an adult and can make his own decisions. But, Orpheus was cheating in my opinion. First against Talon, and later Alena and Talon. Maybe there will be some legitimate excuse given to us later, but right now all I can think is that Orpheus is the scum of the earth. When Talon heard Orpheus and the professor the first time, why didn't he say anything? The second time he interfered, but even then he was just mad at the professor. Again, maybe we'll get a good explanation later, but I just can't accept that.
Now, let's talk about the Constantine thing. HOW in the he** did he recover from near death so quickly and know to go to the school? How did he get so much power so quickly that he could break through the school wards? I don't know... But I'm having a hard time buying it.
I'll give the series another chance to impress me. Hopefully this book was just setting the stage. Right now I'm disappointed because the series has potential and it's all going downhill. It took me DAYS (normally a book takes me hours, maybe a couple of days if I'm busy) to get through this book and I had to force myself to finish it.

Great book, honestly loved it. However, it lost a star due to the relationship between one of the MMCs (Orpheus) and a teacher Cornwell continuing after being with the FMC and seemingly the foursome as a whole being together and with no one else. Honestly, it was so well written this book would have easily been 5 stars if not for that complication and from what I can tell, its never really addressed in full by the group again in future books. We definitely see some discussion and fight back but Orpheus doesn't seem to apologize or really, truly regret the relationship/situtationship. It's stated in book 2 that they were going to discuss it in full once everything with the villian is over but from my brief skimming, its never addressed again fully by the foursome.
No real other woman drama.
Bullying does stop by 40% of the book.
Xavier is by far my favorite, he does have some moments but he is all in with her from the get-go. Talon is definitely second once he learns the truth. The main reason Orpheus is last is due to the situation previously described.

2 stars dnf at 33%.

so I literally have almost no idea what's going on in the story because it is all over the place. it's like the author forgot a chapter or two of world building. they should have had a prologue from 3 years before where the event happens. because I don't really know what that was but then there's a point where he has a dream flashback of her seeing Tal's parents die and then the villain being basically put in a stasis veil of sorts or something. was that the event or was it something else cuz I'm confused. also the FMC is supposed to be 21 I think and it feels like she should be like 18 or even 16/17 based on the writing which is weird because she's been earthside for 2 years going out drinking and all that. it's also multi POV and I think it helps but also hurts the storyline because there are things that the FMC does that are not discussed and only seen through one of the mmcs and you don't really understand what's going on.

I think it has potential in the storyline but the execution is definitely not there.

I tried…I really did.

I ended up DNFing the book at 80% and should have done so sooner, but I kept struggling through hoping it would get better. Characters never fully developed for me and it was more instaOK than instalove, meaning the FMC was just like ok every time with all the MMCs no matter the red flags showing. A big irk for me was the MF curse. Just as the er on the end of the word please! Words felt left off in the dialogue and frankly the steamy scenes left a lot to be desired. More like wham bam thank you ma’am. I hate leaving reviews like this, and while others have said this series is amazing, I say try it and see. Maybe it’s for you and just not for me. I will never yuck someone else’s yum.

Wicked heirs

Spoilers:

Interesting pnr, rh, academy, good, grey, v. Evil. Starts off as a partial bully story, but soon develops into a reverse harem. The perspective is mostly from the mens' pov. The female's is not developed at all. Everyone has deep dark issues resulting from an evil vampire (?) who caused a disaster several years before. This evil wasn't killed, but was placed into a magical hibernation, and his followers want him released. The story describes the characters' growth, physically and magically. There are undercurrents of mystery, betrayal, family solidarity and hidden secrets. It appears to be a sequel? to another series I'm not aware of.

I unexpectedly discovered this book, and I found it quite enjoyable. I appreciated the characters and the storyline. The story follows Alena, a half-angel, half-human, who is sent to a school to develop her powers. There, she encounters Orpheus, a dark fae; Tallon, a phoenix; and Xavier, a hybrid vampire sorcerer. Unbeknownst to her, two of them harbor a grudge against her because of her mother. She also grapples with her fear of her own magic and its potential. This narrative takes the reader on a journey of self-discovery, friendship, and more.

I have so much to say about this book. First of all why is that in every fucking supernatural romance book there is always some scene where he’s like “I’m too dark for you, you can’t handle me, I would be too rough” she’s always “ give it to me, I can handle it, I want all of you show me” like can we stop with cringy bullshit please oh my fuck!

Anyway the sex scene in the woods are we serious right now?! A water bottle and a fucking tree branch?! So goddam weird bro like the tree didn’t ask for that come on it’s just so shit does not need to be written!

I hope the next book elaborates on what the hell is going on bc right now it’s too much…

I enjoyed it

It’s really 3.5✨ I really did enjoy this book! I liked the character dynamics, I like what the plot of the story is. A the 🌶️ spice was just damn yummy!!! Like those scenes where some of the best ever so enjoyed it. I will say I never thought I would be angry and pissed at a M/M dynamic vs M/F over a MMFM book. But when you read it you will see why I want to shank someone! 🤣 The only reason it didn’t get more stars was I felt like a lot happen too fast. There was no build up it was a tease and then bam everything that could be happened but to make the story more immersive it should have some of the scenes or timelines slower. But still great

Wow

This was so good!! I thought it was going to be a boring bully romance but the bullying only lasted a few chapters before quickly morphing into an instalove situation. The spice in this was absolutely chef's kiss 💋 😘 and the storyline was great, although I didn't like Orpheus and Cornwell storyline or that Tal didn't tell Alena and Xavier about it. There are so many secrets surrounding them as the book finishes after such a lovely middle of them all being blissful together that I'm worried for book 2 and their relationships especially with how the book ended.

I have been impatiently waiting for this book to drop and now that it is here I couldn't be happier!
I could not put this book down, I refused to step away from it.

The characters are well written, the action was on point and lets not forget the steamy parts!! Oh wowzers!! The hint of mystery and suspicion was intense! Emotions were high on this one and I can't even tell you how much I loved this book!!

I highly recommend this book and this author! If you love swoon worthy MMC's, Temperamental Fiery MMC's and whole lot of backbone for our leading lady than this is the ONE for you!!

Road to freedom

While all the heirs have suffered to some extent they didn't know the reason until the end is this book. The parents are clueless. The academy didn't want them to be able to have the full force of their magic available to them only enough to get by. They do have help from one professor, however not all of them. The coming together is the 4 is in a demented way but they work thru it and eventually things get a lot better. Now with the darkness back in full force how will they pull together in order to win & get control of their full power?

it’s okay

This book was almost really good. I liked the characters and the plot could have been really great but the writing just felt really juvenile. I also felt like there were huge chunks of story/development missing. Like a new chapter would start and such a huge jump in relationship or circumstance had changed with no explanation or build up and it made for a confusing read and also took me out of the story because I felt whiplash from the extreme jump. I typically really like this author so I was surprised that I didn’t like this book.

I absolutely devoured it - totally demolished it.
Did not put it down, did not come up for air, I did not even blink I don't think. I was emersed totally in the story and the characters.
This maybe the first book in the series but oh my! It certainly doesn't read like a first book.
I am beyond enthralled. And I am eagerly awaiting the second book - but before her I'm gonna dive right back in and read it again! Yes I am. It's that good! Run and grab it!

This book was sooo 🔥🔥🔥! It’s literally everything you want in a fantasy why choose academy romance book. The characters are great. The spice is delicious. And, the FMC is fantastic. She’s so strong and powerful and it’s wonderful watching her come into her power with such grace and kindness while also being a badass. The guys are all alhpaholes, well maybe just two of them, but they change for the better for the FMC. I can’t wait for the next book!

Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 4/5 —————> A half angel, a dark fae, a phoenix and a vampire all come together finally (in multiple ways 😉) to overthrow the bad guy. They’re college students and an academy working to strengthen their skills while being a part of a society where they can realllllly stretch their wings. There’s a lot of characters introduced. Smut was good. We get M/M action in multiple scenes. However, won’t continue with the series. Does end on a cliffy.

2.5 ⭐️ hmmm.. I feel once again, there was such a good premise and it ALMOST met the mark.. but it was lacking. The FMC had literally no character lol. She just was happy with everything, idgaf if she was an angel. It was silly. Then the boys opinions of her turned so quick. Also the icky cheating bs that was never addressed and talon was just like ok with it? And ore just like kissed her after. Ew. Couldn’t stomach it.

plot is okay, needs some major editing

I wanted to like the book I really did. It felt like there was little to no editing and it kind of killed some of the story. I’m typically one to read based on vibes but the errors just distracted so much. Will not be continuing with this series.

Excellent series! It’s also complete.

I strongly recommend this series and I will definitely be reading more books by Leia King.
The MM sex warning is a bit understated. No slow burn here.
However, if the explicit sex or MM content makes you uncomfortable, skip past those scenes. The overall story and well developed characters with the growth they show absolutely make a little discomfort worth it.

DNF @ 44%

This really had potential but missed the mark. There was no world building or explanation of things we were just thrown in and supposed to know. The enimies to lovers ended so quickly that I thought I had accidentally skipped ahead. I just dont like where this is going, and I got bored with it.

This book is written strangely. Hardly any POV's from the actual main character. The MMC's can't see to agree what to do with her. In the beginning her magic is useless and out of control apparently, which is why she needs to go to this academy, but once there she levels up in almost no time on her own with self study.

The pacing in this is WILD. Conflict is created, then resolved in the next chapter. I like the world and concept, the characters are alright. I’ll give the next one a shot but it needs an editor. Not copy, I didn’t see many typos, more in developmental plot and pacing. And some of the phrasing is a bit weird.
