Good until it wasn't

Dang, I had very high hopes for the conclusion of the web that was weaved in book 1. I am NOT a fan of DNF, so I stuck through this. The events became too much, and the messiness was excessive.

I saw that to say, many parts were good, and that is why I gave it 2 stars.

Loved the series

Keep poking the bear you bound to get a reaction. You’re your worst critic. Taking it out on a child, will never right. We all know that what’s done in the dark will always come there light. Let’s chat!

Savoy (Three) & Egypt was that couple that people would look at as relationship goals. The way this man didn’t play about Egypt🥹. He didn’t care who you were, he’s going to pop off behind her! Not only that, the way he didn’t allow her to sit in self pity, the way he provided her with the affirmation needed. Like where they at 🤭! When she let the walls falls, I’ll just say she loved Three dirty underwear and she knew how he was coming behind her🥰! Though she irritated me some with her actions, she was still that girl to me. My girl didn’t deserve the treatment she received from Jonte😔. No woman in real life or fiction should ever endure what she did. Between Norma and Jonte, she couldn’t catch a break. I was losing it for her🫣! I was not no near worried because Three wasn’t far🤭. But that father Evan! Yeah them secrets 😳! Honestly had to put the book down for a minute. First thing came to mind was IKYFL and not the ops🫣! Then they had to deal with Aaliyah. She cause more issues than a little. She just wouldn’t leave well enough alone.

Marquez (Four) & Mahoney were just toxic but it worked for them. She poppin off in a heart beat and he coming right behind her or vice versa🤭! One thing these 2 are going to do s challenge each other. What I enjoyed about their relationship was that they both found peace and love with each other even though they fought hard not to🥰. They were each other peace & comfort. Both were coming heavy behind their best friends/siblings - Three & Egypt. Mahogany had issue depending Egypt and definitely did have no issue handling business🫣! In my opinion at first they did listen to each other when things got hectic. To me that was their biggest downfall 😔! Oh but that tragedy 😭! My heart was hurting, however, the way Four step up and didn’t leave her side and handled business. Listen that man there 🥰! The outcome left me speechless🥹!

Now left chat quickly about the 2 trifling people of the book - Jonte & Norma. At first I said they were meant for each other 🤭! Yep I said it! Then as story went on, I said they didn’t. They just deserved their karma. Oh and when they got it🤭! They were the cause of their downfall! Norma been foul for a long time and when she exposed them secret. I wanted that karma then. As for Jonte, he just lost all his morals and respect for self. He was down bad. He needed that karma plus some 🫣! Oh yeah, can’t forget Aaliyah. Mental illness is so real. The way she was fighting for something that was never her had me baffled. You could tell her it wasn’t her. But the way she did my girl had me so upset😤! She was another one that cause her own downfall.

I want to say the way this read tied everything back together🤏🏾! Mentioning of mental illness always gets my attention. The banter had me laughing and mad at the same time. This series was a dang good and I enjoyed it so much. So happy I was able to tap into the author’s catalog. I’ll be back to read more.

so much drama

This book was such a stark difference than the first book. It was just so much drama. Egypt went through so much, it felt the author was just putting her through the wringer. But also Egypt was kind of annoying. She was being really bratty, and talked about compassion toward Aaliyah but wouldn’t give Ambrosia any. I didn’t think all these characters needed a POV. It would’ve come as more of a surprise to learn what happened as the main characters did. It was also more unnecessary drama. I don’t know why Egypt was so pressed about her dad when he was doing her mom wrong like Jonte was doing her. And for Egypt to be surprised had me really confused because at the beginning of book 1, Egypt literally said, “They thought I hadn’t heard the arguments about my father’s infidelities, but I did—a time or two.” So that kind of threw the entire book off for me. You mean to tell me a dude from the street couldn’t tell when somebody was following him? Ok. Savoy already had his yellow Ferrari earlier in the book. Why would he need another one?

This was not quite what I was expecting for book 2. The trauma was never ending for these folks down to 97% of the book. I didn’t even bother with the epilogue after reading the last chapter. Book 1 was good and I enjoyed the story. The events could’ve been better developed for book 2. It seem like once it got to the end, the closure for everything left unsaid was rushed.

Whew, baby… this book took me through it! I went on so many emotional roller coasters, I had to reach out to the author like, “Ma’am, explain yourself!” 🤣 I was MAD at the characters..like ready to cuss everybody out mad. Then I was crying, then closing the book, then picking it back up like, “Okay, let me see what happens next…”

This book had me all in my feelings frustrated, heartbroken, hopeful and I loved every minute of it.

No spoilers, but I was happy with the ending. It gave what it needed to give!

SIDENOTE (aka “Don’t come for my stars!”):
Just a quick heads-up—my ratings are based on whether I’d reread the book or add it to my personal collection, not the quality of the story itself. So here’s how I roll:

5 🤩 = I’m obsessed with everything—the storyline, the author, and the narrators! I read it yearly and own ALL the copies: physical, digital, and Audible. I can basically recite this book. It lives in my private library.
4 🌟 = Loved the story, the author, and the narrator (if it’s audio). I’d happily reread it when I need a solid comfort read.
3 ✨ = Enjoyed the story, the author, and definitely the narrators. A great addition to my yearly reading challenge—likely to revisit if it’s part of a series I need to refresh.

Listen. I don’t know who Egypt pissed off in Mesha Mesh’s world, but babyyyyy this woman cannot catch a break! It’s giving spiritual warfare, emotional terrorism and the author lowkey hating her. But through it all, Egypt She stands. She survives. She’s that girl, even when the world is dead set on breaking her.

Book 2 is pure, unfiltered chaos. Every page brought a new moment of Wait, WHAT?! From the jealousy, the betrayals, the backstabbing and people being completely unhinged this installment had no chill. Even with all that madness, there’s love. Deep, complicated, trying to breathe through the crazy kind of love. But just when you think they’re about to enjoy it BOOM. Something else explodes.

Can we talk about that UPPER ROOM moment.. Egypt, girl, I thought it was over for you. Shoutout to Mesha Mesh for letting our girl live. You had us stressed!

Side eye Norma…. I had a little tug in my spirit for her, just one moment. Yes, her cousin started this mess but Egypt was just a baby purely innocent. Still, Norma treated her like the villain her entire life.

At the end of the day, this book had me whispering “these people are insane,” and still somehow rooting for every last one of them to find peace, healing and just a sliver of joy.

Everybody Got What They Deserve!!

Javonte still hasn't learned his lesson. He is still putting his hands on women and choking them. Norma is utterly totally disgusting and evil ain't no way she has so much hatred for Egypt regardless if her h not her. She shouldn't let that secret out like that especially in front of Egypt ruining the image of her daddy. They should have went to therapy. How ironic that Egypt and Ambrosia are sisters. Egypt couldn't stand her because she was sleeping with her man at the time. Aaliyah is just psychotic when she's is off her medication acting all delusional. Mahogany didn't deserve losing their baby because some dirty detective is trying to prove he's untouchable, but Four touched his a** for sure.I'm happy Mahogany and Four tried again now they are pregnant and married. Layton and Ambrosia are together. Egypt came out of shell and she gave Savoy as good as she gave him. Egypt and Savoy are married and have a daughter.

Better the 2nd time around

Jonte finally got what he deserved and I’m happy because honey he was working my nerves. Like sir you a whole cheater and not just with multiple women you out here making babies and you slept with her mother. It don’t get no more low down then that.. Mahogany was pudding me off too like why you so hard headed like why you just won’t relax and let this man love you. They worked my nerves. Egypt pissed me off at the end of the 1st book moving towards the 2nd like sis you mad at him for trying to help you fix the problem like Jonte deserved every ass whopping he got and more. Mo did right busting him upside his head. Norma was trash if ever a mother was the worse sis definitely won that award. Like you really dogged out a child cause you mad at the father that you chose to stay with. I was glad karma caught up with her and Jonte they deserved worse than what they got

Loved loved Savoy or Three, he was everything. He may have been a bully but with Egypt it was coming from a good place. Love how he loved her , even when she was broken. Egypt was a sweetheart who ppl thought they could take advantage of. But with Three she found her strength.. did not care for Mahogany, she was a good friend but that’s about it. She was childish and selfish. Loved Four, he didn’t want a woman or kids til Mahogany but I felt she played too much.. Jonte was trash, straight trash, Norma was just trifling, she could have left at any time, but she wanted to take her issues out on Egypt. Aaliyah was crazy and her mom should have had her locked up but she didn’t care enough.. they all got what they deserved. Loves Ambrosia growth but Egypt should have whooped her ass one good time.. Their daddy wasn’t shit either.

Very Much Enjoyed This Series

This series was so good! I enjoyed both books very much, even though many of the characters got on my last good nerve lol

I was so tired of my girl Egypt getting jumped on. If it wasn’t by Jonte it was Aaliyah and if it wasn’t by Aaliyah, it was by life. Three should’ve wrapped her up in bubble wrap and had someone like security with her with every single step that she took. Jonte deserved his ending but I was hoping that Three would set him up so they could all run the fade on him. He was truly awful and loved to put his hands on women, but rarely ever bucked up to a man.

And I should’ve seen that ending coming after reading the Don’s Virgin Bride Possession, but I didn’t. Well played, Mesha. Well played.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and this series.

A big Bowl of eh
An ok read that had a lot of drama but no real there there. the entire plot was drama or trauma after trauma. Storylines didn't really breathe. characters in short amount of time went through a lot but twists of trauma doesn't a story make. There needs to be so much more there. Mahogany wasn't my fav character, even in Book 1, I really wished I didn't have her sections. her and four were good background side characters, but full chapters with their POV was unnecessary. However, the best, most well written chapter was the one with Mahogany's arrest. it was frightening and startling. It pulled me in. Ultimately, what failed.here is that the BDE, touch her and die because I'm a morally grey character. Energy is lacking for Savoy, aka Three, aka the MMC. It all just didn't add up.

Mesha ma'am.... is you cool?!?! You just unloaded a clip on us.
I thought book 1 was wild but that was just the warm up...Baker's Bully 2 was all gas no breaks.
Be warned, the trauma is heavy in this one! All the feelings you felt for characters in book 1 is intensified.

Thoughts:
1. Can Egypt catch a break? The answer is no... Mesha had her struggling to the very end.
2. Norma Mae, I disliked you but you didn't deserve what was coming your way. Karma truly is the bigger bitch.
3. Ambrosia, it's bout time you got your act together. Heal and be loved on by a good man.
4. Call me 3.5 cause I'm trying to be in between 3 and 4!
5. Mahogany, my good sis please sit down and just love on your man silently. Emphasis on the silently, don’t say a single word to anybody.

If you asked me to recommend a book that has the ultimate shock value, this would be my recommendation. Every two seconds my jaw was unhinging from my face and I love that for me.

Yoooo!!! Part 2 was more wild than Part 1! I didn’t expect no one that lol. First of all, who put a curse on Egypt??? The girl couldn’t get a damn break to save her life! And Mahogany’s ass just don’t listen?! Like come on sis smh. Those two are definitely friends cause I kept saying wtf yall thinking. I knew Ambrosia had a story and I was so happy to learn about it! Jonte was very unhinged but I don’t know who was worse? Him or Aaliyah… cause wtf wrong with yall? And for someone who’s seasoned, Norma just wasn’t smart at all.. just straight delusional. But baby Savoy “Three” and Marques “Four”!!!! Those are my men… I don’t know who is my favorite but they don’t play about their women and I am here for it… I absolutely love them!!! The book is 5 stars simply for them!!!

Baker’s Bully 2

First I hated Ambrosia but once we got to know her better I began to love her. Also I’m happy to see her growth & taking accountability for her actions. You had me crying for both Mahogany & Egypt. The experience that Brosia & Mahogany went through scared tf outta me. Aaliyah just took life too far. The fact that she knew she was delirious but wanted to live in it pissed me off. I was so tired of Jonte, Egypts moms & Lewis! They drained me so. Four had me emotional as well. I felt his heartbreak & also his love. Three was the man that he was the first time around! I loved the series!

A good follow up for part one. There were some moments that had me scratching my head, but overall I enjoyed this more than the bakers bully (one). Three and Four irked my nerves cause if you run this city why all the opps keep getting second chances but I digress.

There was an instance where a scene was rewritten from first book that threw me off. The recap opens up with Mahogany getting arrested, although she had previously been released before the closing of book one. Then we go through the fight and arrest etc. again with added scenes. The timelines did not flow well. I understand wanting to expound to make the drama really pop like on a soap opera but remaking something that has already occurred, happen again didn’t make sense to me.

Overall I am happy for the HEAs for Egypt and friends. Life really beat her back in relentlessly but we made it!
June 11, 2025
Chile, this story had me scared and on the edge of my seat, no lie! Book 2 hit just as hard as Book 1. NO SPOILERS, but let me just say—Egypt needs a whole nickname. Something like Indestructible or Teflon or something ‘cause baby went through it. How she still walkin’ around is a mystery to me. Sheesh! The only thing I wish we got more of was a lil’ bit more character development for Three and Four—or maybe even a deeper dive into their backstories and that secret organization they a part of. But still, it’s a solid 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me! And who knows—maybe our good sis, Mesh, got somethin’ else cookin’!

I made it to chapter 9 and was tired of being annoyed. Egypt and mahogany both in a depression which is cool I guess with all they been through. Narrator Midnight sounded a trillion times worse. Then it was just a mess in Chapter 9 - Egypt finds out her dad got outside children, Norma ain’t her mama, and Savoy miraculously shows up to save Egypt. On one page Egypt walks out the house slamming the front door and in the next paragraph she’s standing at the top of the steps listening to savoy threaten her dad. And when savoy threatens to fight Egypts dad I was over it. Then Evan and Norma devolve into a domestic dispute 😒🙄. I barely liked book 1 so yea I didn’t finish this one.

No Longer Laughing

Three and Four were the truth! Brothers and best friends, they ran their business, Four Play, together, and ruled the streets of Dallas. It was no surprise when they set their sites on longtime best friends Egypt and Mahogany. To attain their goal, the brothers had to put in some hard work. Enemies and crazies were crawling out of the woodwork at their girls! Book one of "The Baker's Bully" had more than a few laugh out loud moments. There was nothing funny in book two.

What a Rollercoaster

I loved and egypt and Mohagony but they were by far the most stubborn and naive women ever they really kept putting theirs elves in bad situations by not telling their men what was going on or by simply not listening. jontae was a piece of work he really needed to seek help an unfortunately he couldn't realize that and leave well enough alone. Aliyah was a whole physco literally it's crazy that her mother waited until she was off her meds to let savoy know she was mentally ill.

❤️❤️

The one of the many things I liked was how they all stuck together no matter the situation no matter if bad or good. They could always count on each other. Both Egypt and Mahogany was taking hits from every way but with Savoy and Four it wouldn't last long. I think Four was the sweetest on Mahogany and it really had me side eyeing Mo but I definitely understood where is was coming. Both Jonte and Aaliyah were one in the same just couldn't let go but definitely got what was coming to them. Overall great series!!!!

Bully 2

This one was good, but I felt it could have been better if it had not been rushed towards the end. After reading both books, I felt terrible for Norma. She was wrong for mistreating a child, but if Evan hadn’t cheated and fathered many children, Norma and he could have had a child and been a family. I believe Evan brought out the evil emotional distress Norma, and life ended sadly. These two book life lessons are to choose your partner wisely because you can start a fire that can turn your life to ashes.

Had to listen to book 1 to the follow up with book 2 since it was a minute in between. I LOVED this story 100% and wish there was a book 3 :). This book 2 had me in my feelings when Mahogany lost the baby to the manhandling of the police officer who tried to assault her in an earlier encounter. I just love how in the end everyone worth surviving received their HEA. Book series was definitely worth more than 5 stars and I loved the narrators. This will absolutely be listened to again and recommended. 💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sorrow and grief

That was a great story however, there is some key pointers in this book. I feel like sometimes we keep dealing with situations that aren’t good for us. Egypt should have completely eliminated herself of Jontay, he was bad. 4 and 3 were amazing brothers and friends and husbands. I loved how 3 was there for mahogany during her miscarriage in spite of her basically causing it because she should have not been there, but she didn’t deserve that. Jontay just what he deserved and all the things that he did and all of the death that he caused
