Having been initiated into the craft by her French grandmother, Lilou returns to Pittsburgh without a plan. Magic is of little help when dealing with a divorce. Nor does it help in her everyday job as an accountant.
The only lifeline to her magical abilities is Josh, Lilou’s house-elf or a domovoy, as he likes to be called.
Josh leads Lilou on a journey of self-discovery and helps her understand the parallel universe of household helpers. Once she finds a way to cooperate with the magical creatures, she comes to terms with her new abilities and comes into her own as a witch.
Lilou: The Shadyside Chronicles book three by Alexandra Pugschevsky is the third book in the series. After reading the one before this I was eager to dive back into this world. I read it fairly quickly and I think this one was my favorite. I enjoyed the character development that Lilou went through; coming to terms and embracing being a witch. That she found happiness… was wonderful to read. The story held my attention through all the chapters and I thought how this book ended was great; that she finally found peace. I do recommend reading all the books in order so you can get invested in Lilou’s story and the journey that she goes through. The writing was done well with a consistent plot line and I was able to imagine the world, situations with ease. This is a quick and fun read clocking in at around 215 pages. Overall I had an amazing reading experience and I would recommend checking out this series. I’m excited to see what’s next from this author. Two thumbs up!
I think this may honestly be my favorite book out of the series so far! I love all the growth Lilou has and the happiness she finally gets. This is such a sweet easy read and the perfect piece needed for the story. After all her fighting against becoming a witch Lilou finally embraces it and all the good things that come with being an Earth witch. I love how the story ended and where Lilou is in her life right now. Perfect ending for this book and well deserved.
