The story is excellent; the art is unbelievable! As a Green Lantern and N.K. Jemisin fan, I was excited to read this. Jamal Campbell's art is incredible! He brought the City Enduring to life in a beautiful way. Highly recommend!

Story is very good and interesting. First time reading something with Sojourner in it, I like her. I like her writing and her story. She's different and that's great, not someone cookie cutter. The story itself does get a bit confusing at points, feels like this should have been longer, but I would definitely read this again.

The star though, is Jamal Campbell. Holy crow can this dude draw. He is a bona-fide star and I hope I run into him at a convention in the future so I can tell him that in person. The style, the finesse, the emotion he gets in his character work, Campbell himself gets 5 stars. DC needs to sign him to a very long exclusive contract. It's not even just the character work, the scenery itself was really special, got Bladerunner vibes in the best way possible.

Definitely a must own for sci-fi fans.

I’ve read a lot of NK Jemisin and a ton of Green Lantern, and this certainly feels more like the former. But it works because it makes the latter feel fresh. It’s GL as political commentary, which we don’t see this heavy-handed. But, once again, it works. She takes this incredible sci-fi premise of “these people operate under the control of an emotion-remover.” It creates a government ruled entirely by logic. And a new Green Lantern is tasked with helping them keep the peace, especially when they just had their first murder in 500 years. It’s a real treat. The art is pretty standard for post-2010 comics. It’s pretty and takes some cool swings. But the story is what really makes this rock. Highly recommend. Space has never felt so American (for good and for bad).

This was excellent! I loved the writing, but the illustrations especially made me feel like I was in a movie. The characters are layered and not perfect, each striving to do what's best based on their knowledge in a world without emotion. This was my first foray into the world of Green Lantern, based entirely on my adoration of Jemisin, and I was not disappointed.

Note: Illustrator is Jamal Campbell

"Meat Salad' is now my favourite term to describe a biological entity. This really blew the god damned doors off. The last time I felt this way reading a GL story was Rebirth / Sinestro Corps Wars: a truly meaningful, beautiful expansion of one of my favourite modern day mythologies.

Read this for a book club. I didn’t care for it. It did have some interesting tonesetting early on and there is something to be written of its status as a period piece of 2019 liberal anxiety about justice but I realised when thinking about it that I'm actually not bothered.

good read but kinda confusing in some parts. there’s too much backtracking and exposition but still a pretty good read. just nice to get new Green Lantern material

It dropped the ball for me, found it disappointing.
