I'd honestly say this is not the best way to read this "event". I don't think this omnibus works quite as well as the war of the Bounty Hunters one, atleast for me.
The war of the Bounty Hunters event, while it feels slow at times, the multiple series crossover works quite well, with events from each series rolling into the others.
This omni, however, the series are only really tangentially connected, and I'd much rather read them in their tpbs.
Plus, by this point, when reading the single issues, I had kinda dropped off Vader and Bounty Hunters by now
I like the Crimson Dawn main series, the star wars tpb is the best of the bunch, and the aphra story is fun, but the rest is a pass for me.
While the previous omnibus collected stories that were inextricably linked, the comic lines collected here are mostly separate entities. I don't think they should have been collected into an omnibus. "Crimson Reign" is billed as a big event and part two of a trilogy, but it sure doesn't feel like it - it's not entirely cohesive and you could easily avoid reading various issues from various lines. The varying quality between the lines is also very apparent.
Somehow, despite my earlier aversion to the Bounty Hunters run, it's turned out to be the most interesting one. I expected MUCH better from the major Star Wars and Darth Vader lines. The Sabé drama has gone on far too long.
I suppose it would be best to read these TPBs separately rather than as an omnibus.
