Alan’s relationship with Madison was extremely strained. He viewed Madison as a threat to his daughter Leah’s innocence; believing that she would only lead Leah astray. Still, Madison was Leah’s best friend, and he didn’t want to isolate his daughter socially.
When he sensed an opportunity to gain some control over Madison he jumped on it. Unfortunately for him, his plan backfired. Rather than gaining power over the headstrong girl, she gained blackmail material which she could use to control him.
With the balance of power shifting, Madison proved to Alan just how right he was all along. She fully intended to corrupt every aspect of Leah, turning the shy and innocent young girl into a woman of ill repute. What Alan didn’t realize, though, was that Madison wanted him to participate in the corruption.
