Rate this book
Marai, a simple shepherd transformed by the "Children of Stone" was sent to Ancient Egypt (Kemet). He and his companions have triumphed over the man who had sought to harm them from the beginning of their journey.

As they face their final task, they realize an even greater darkness has been toying with them from the moment they were transformed. It reveals itself as Ptah-ta-tenen-Ra-Atum (Ta-te) – all gods in one. To some the creature is none other than the Creator of all mankind. Bound to Earth by its impurities, eons ago when his kin ascended, this fallen one of the Children of Stone seeks to walk in glory on Earth again as a powerful god-man.

Marai has been selected as its host, but he will not go willingly. He and his followers must confront the god to purify or destroy Ta-te and complete the mission of the Children of Stone.

Years ago, when I began to study mythology, it occurred to me that the gods and goddesses never seemed divine. They acted like super-talented people full of very human passions and shortcomings. When they appeared in different legends these various archetypes were like threads woven into the tapestry of various eras and cultures. This idea fascinated me. I began a journey of recording and relating these stories. Now I weave my god-characters through all the times and spaces I chronicle and encountered.

Mary R. Woldering is an author, artisan, art historian, madwoman, visionary and devoted wife to Dr. Jackie F. Woldering, mother of Ruth and Thom and grandmother of five. She lives in Mentor, Ohio.
