I’m Hooked

I usually don’t read PNR books but I do love this author’s work so I knew I couldn’t pass this book up. I’m sure glad I read it because it was a big page turner that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

When Lyra’s sister, Lily, goes missing she will stop at nothing to find her. Calix is the enforcer for the Kings of Anarchy MC in Louisiana and his dark broodiness isn’t going to stop Lyra from using his help. Even though Calix doesn’t want to admit it at first, he knows that there is just something about Lyra that has drawn his attention…and so much more.

This book has so many twists and turns my head was spinning and the steam burned up my kindle. I cannot wait to follow this series and see what this author has in store for us next.

3.5⭐️ this was a bit different from the books I normally read. I really enjoyed it. There are some things that were confusing to me but I’m sure as the series progresses it will make more sense. Looking forward to Crypt Keepers book.

PROPERTY OF MAKO is the first instalment in Kristine Allen’s contemporary, adult KINGS OF ANARCHY MC: LOUISIANA erotic, paranormal, MC romance series, a part of the multi-authored Kings of Anarchy MC (KOAMC). This is vampire enforcer Calix D’Aragon aka Mako, and horse rancher Lyra Callahan’s story line.

At every step of recovery, the KOAMC discover they may have been betrayed by someone they once trusted.

The relationship between Mako and Lyra is one of immediate attraction. Mako aka Calix suspects Lyra is his mate but Lyra’s priority is to save her sister from a lifetime of horror but when Lyra is thought to be keeping secrets, Mako and the MC must come to terms with what is happening and why. Lyra never wants to be left behind, and in this, she is often TSTL considering she is human, without the ability to survive an attack. The $ex scenes are passionate and provocative.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, magical and supernatural secondary and supporting characters including all of the members of the KOAMC: Louisiana-demons, vampires, werewolves and fae, including a centuries old vendetta that forces Mako to choose between the woman he loves, or a spiral out of control.

There is just something about a good mc storyline that features strong characters and a paranormal twist that draws to this reader every time. That is most certainly the case with Ms. Allen’s Property of Mako. This is book 1 of her new Kings of Anarchy MC, Louisiana Chapter. (If you’ve heard of the Kings, you know this is a multi author series with different authors taking different MC chapters). That being said, of course an MC Chapter based in Louisiana is bound to have a touch of the macabre and paranormal, and boy do this book ever hit the mark.

Mako is the club’s Enforcer. He also happens to be an 800+ year old Vampire. He once lived a charmed life until his sister’s murder had him denounce his title. From there he found his MC brothers and swore revenge. But when his path crosses with a stubborn, fiery female who sees more than she should, Mako is sent to find her, to wipe her mind. But instead, she finds him and demands his help to find her little sister for her silence. These two start out on a journey that will have you second guessing everything you think you know about what’s going to happen. Secrets, lies, revenge, vengeance, romance and so much more. I can’t recommend Property of Mako enough.

Grab it up asap, you’ll be in for a real treat. As for this reader, I can’t wait to see what happens next with the brother in the Kings of Anarchy MC, Louisiana Chapter.

KRISTINE WHY YOU GOTTA DO ME DIRTY?! NOW I'LL BE ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT WAITING FOR THE NEXT ONE!

I feel like Kristine Allen choosing Louisiana for her chapter of the Kings of Anarchy is perfect! So much spookiness is found there and is an absolute perfect setting for this vampire enforcer. She knows how to pull you in from the first paragraph. I took my time reading it because I seriously did not want it to end! Also all the names for the MC brothers introduced are absolutely perfect!

When Lyra's world falls apart after her younger sister Lily disappears, Lyra finds herself doing anything possible to find her- even when others won't. In doing so it leads her to dangerous situations and one where she finds herself face to face with Mako (Calix) and the rest of this chapter of KOA. Both Mako and Lyra are instantly attracted to each other but Mako doesn't want to force Lyra into his way of life if he can help it.

With this we are given a gripping page turner filled with secrets, betrayals, enemies and multiple twists and turns! Super excited to see what she brings us next! Thank you for the ARC of the book <3

The characters?
The world Allen has created?
It's absolute magic!

I was engaged from the opening scene to the closing, and I have so many questions!!!
I know a lot of them will be answered as the series progresses
But I have guesses!! My inner brat wants to know if we are right

Mako is packed with edge-of-your-seat suspense - Action scenes that will have you holding your breath- Hade’s level heat romance - Betrayals - Family Bonds - Surprises
and so much more

I was waiting for it to happen, the expected twist in most romantic suspense stories

What a fabulous story! I enjoyed the paranormal aspect and I absolutely LOVED that Lyra was a horse girl and worked with rescue horses! That sealed the deal for me right there. Add in an incredibly hot vampire biker and you can't go wrong.

I really enjoyed Lyra's character. She was so relatable being a horse girl myself, I could understand her need to be grounded by the horses/being in the barn. I thought she was strong and capable, even was faced with the unknown.

Mako was great! His deep history and connection to the paranormal was interesting. He was protective yet understanding and I really felt his devotion to Lyra.

I loved all the mystery surrounding not only the Kings of Anarchy club but also the guys themselves. I kept trying to figure out what each guys special effect was and it was exciting when little tidbits were revealed. I'm really excited to see where this series goes and what the other guys stories will be about. I enjoyed this story immensely and would definitely recommend it!!

An absolutely amazing read!! Property of Mako is Book one in the Kings of Anarchy MC Louisiana and man Kristine Allen did not disappoint. I admit while MC is my go to Paranormal is not, but she does it amazingly well. She explains everything well without being offensive to the readers who may be more well versed in all things paranormal.
I couldn't put this book down, it has her usual style of writing and storyline that draws you in but given the subject matter of vampires, paranormal and all things that go bump in the night. It was darker and grittier, and I am here for it.
Mako is a vampire enforcer, protective, rough around the edges. He protects Lyra at all cost. Lyra has secrets of her own and while he and the club help to protect her and her sister. She is not exactly a damsel in distress. She has her own grit and determination. This is a must read, and if you are a paranormal and MC girly this is most definitely the book for you.

New series alert! The Kings of Anarchy MC is not your regular MC. Calix D’Aragon is the MC’s enforcer. He is also an almost century old vampire. Yes, we have beasts and monsters in this book. Surprised me too. Calix or Mako was looking for the person that killed his sister. He has vowed to get revenge no matter how long it takes. The MC is after a group that is trafficking young girls. Looking for the trafficking ring runs the MC directly into Lyra Callahan.

Lyra was saved by Mako while looking for her younger sister, Lilly. Lilly went missing and the police wrote her off as a runaway. Lyra knew better. Lilly would never run off like that. When Lyra discovered that there were a lot of teen girls missing in the area, she knew she needed to take things in her own hands. After Lyra was saved by Mako, she decided he was her best shot at finding Lilly. On top of all of this, Mako realizes that Lyra, a human, is his mate. This book is action and mystery all wrapped up in bow. Ms. Allen will have readers anxiously waiting on the next book in this series.

This is a gritty, action packed, betrayal and vengeance, dark and gritty romance story. Loved all the characters, they are strong and mysterious. Lots of hot steamy scenes and a strong fast paced plot kept the story moving. 5 stars for this one! It is a must read!

Another new chapter in the Kings of Anarchy MC. Property of Mako was a pleasant surprise to read. Mako is a man that has been around for a while and has a lot of secrets, especially with his club brothers in the Kings of Anarchy MC, Louisiana chapter.

Mako and Lyra's story was unexpected and enjoyable to read. I love the Louisiana chapter characters and their path of life they've taken up.

Lyra has secrets and needs help when her sister ends up missing. The police write her off as a run away, but Lyra knows better. Her search takes her to dangerous territory where she finds an unlikely ally that is skeptical in his dealings with her.

I loved the book and the characters and I cannot wait to read more of the Louisiana Chapter of the Kings of Anarchy MC.

I really enjoyed this book. There were so many shocks and twists that my head was blown. When Lyra’s sister, Lily, goes missing, she uncovers things that put her in danger. She needs Mako’s help to find her sister, but what she wasn’t planning on was finding the one meant just for her. Mako’s past cones back to haunt him and that’s what is driving him to help Lyra, he also didn’t expect to find his other half. These two have such undeniable chemistry and such a strong connection that grows. But of course, they are meant to be. There are secrets that come to light and as I said before, many shocks. I was kept on the edge of my seat and completely hooked. I do like PNR stories and this one was good. I can’t wait for more in this series.

This world and the characters have a lot of potential. I can't think of a PNR MC romance that I've read before but I'll be on the lookout for more like this (without the omegaverse dynamics).
It's not 4 stars because I feel like it was all a little too surface level even though there were opportunities to expand, especially on the characters and PNR elements. It would have been a slightly longer book but the characters would have had more depth if they had more backstory.
There were also some threads that felt like they could have been important but just weren't mentioned again.
I look forward to Crypt Keeper's book, and hopefully Dexter's too. Maybe the connection with Lily's necklace comes back into play 🤷🏽‍♀️

What an amazing start. Kristine is bringing us a new paranormal series that grips you from page one. Mako is determined to right wrongs made in the past, and Lyra is headstrong, and willing to fight for her sister. She doesn't back down once she learns the truth about Mako, and they're able to build their bond to something even stronger because of it. There's a lot of drama, angst, and the MC doesn't shy away from problems. It's fast paced, but holds your attention and makes you want more of the clubs story. I enjoyed every moment of this story and I cannot wait to see how it plays out with the next one.

This is the first in a new series, and this is Lyra and Mako’s story.
Lyra has secrets which are too dangerous to share, and when her sister goes missing, she searchers for her, but she has no choice but to approach Mako, who is ruthless enforcer. Mako will do whatever he must to keep Lyra safe and protected.
This is a well written intense, action-packed story, with secrets, loyalty, forced proximity, touch her and die vibes, betrayal, trust, danger, suspense, intrigue, determination, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and dark, gritty, paranormal romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

What a return to Kristine's paranormal writings,and it didn't disappoint!
Lyra's sister is missing,and she unwittingly stumbles across Mako and the Kings of Anarchy MC. Mako and his brotherhood vow to solve the mystery of the missing teens in the only way they know how...together. Lyra's boldness was the perfect mix for Mako's nature,and it was beautiful to watch their relationship develop. This book is full of paranormal activity,blood,so much mystery and everything that Kristine is good at...keeping you booked from beginning to end! I can't wait to read Cryptkeeper's story...what a perfect start to the Louisiana charter!

When Lyra sister Lily goes missing the polixe say shes a rub away but Lyras determined to prove other wise she just never thought meeting Mako would change everything. A vampire Mako is determined to avenge his sister but when he has to choose to protect Lyra who feels like his mate when she witnesses the supernatural hell do anything to help her, only discovering they arent the only supernaturals in town. Well written engaging steamy desires the story draws you in with suspense and twists and more!

Amazing!
Plot twist. Suspense. Kidnapping. Good versus evil. Happy ending. This story has it all. Including a mild cliffhanger. Calix D’Aragon Mako, vampire enforcer & Lyra Callahan, searching for lost sister Lily. I love learning about these characters and the battles their endure to make them strong. Definitely riveting, enchanted and addicted. So want to continue reading the next story with Crypt Keeper. And find out more on the mystery of healer Dexter. So good.

OMG!!! What a story!!! I cannot say enough good things about Property of Mako!!!

Kristine Allen is able to weave stories that will have you on the edge of your seat, rooting for characters that are morally grey. Her ability to bring supernatural characters into the human world without it being campy is one of the reasons I love this author.

This book has so many twists and turns that you will want to consume it without stopping!!! What a great way to begin a new series, and I am "impatiently" waiting for the next one!!!!

This Louisiana chapter of KOA are a mix of paranormal creatures. Mako is a vampire and the attraction between him and Lyra is intense.

I loved ever page of this gripping page turner, full of secrets, betrayals, malevolent enemies, twists, turns, suspense and fantastic characters. Can’t wait for Crypt Keeper next.

Holy smokes, what a read! I was brought into a world with bits of mystery and danger, intense characters, and so much more. Maco and Lyra have a pull that was hard to deny, and you could feel that through the pages. The story kept me involved, on the edge of my seat, and loving every second! The world building here is on point, and all of the characters have me looking forward to much more from this series!

damn that was awesome!! it kept me at the edge of my seat. the past was hard on Mako but can he save the present when his past comes back? there r different things going on at the kings but when young women get kidnapped the cops won't do anything as usual. but koa will. when he saves a woman unexpectedly, he realizes what must b done. he got more than he dreamed he could ever have but is it a dream or will it b reality? i soooo can't wait 4 more!!

I really enjoyed reading this book. This book took me away from my everyday reality to another world that I could immerse myself in, and be part of something different. This book moves along at a great pace that is perfect for this story. It has interesting and unique characters that you want to know and you cant help but love. This book will not disappoint, it will keep you reading and turning pages until the end. There is no doubt that this book needs to be on your TBR list.

I just love me some great vampires and this was a great one. I’m trying to put my finger on if this character is a past character I have been waiting years to see have his own story hum … anyway I couldn’t get enough of this great start to a new series, Mako, the cub brothers , the heroine and her sister brought it together. I loved the various characters we are going to be seeing. Until the next one.
