He doesn’t remember her. But a song isn’t the only thing they share.
She gave them the song that changed everything.
They gave her prize money, VIP passes—and a night that changed her life forever.
Years ago, Savannah Grace entered a songwriting contest and signed away the rights to Heal Me, never imagining it would become a chart-topping hit. That night, she met Ian Stanton—the voice that made her lyrics famous—and returned home to a world that would never be the same.
Ian remembers the song. The tour. The spiral that came after. But he doesn’t remember her. Now sober and rebuilding his life, he walks into a small-town bar and hears Heal Me performed the way it was meant to be—raw, aching, and undeniably hers.

We first meet Ian in the book, Boundless Hearts. It's a Rock Hills Origin Story. After reading that, I messaged the author and asked if Ian would be getting a story. You see, I hated him in Boundless Hearts until almost the last. And from that, I knew I wanted to know the rest of his story and how he came to be like this. Well, fast forward to now and Ms. Lorenzo has given her readers what we wanted. The story is Ian and Savannah's story, and it deals with hard gritty things in their lives. This book gives you the background story of Ian and his story after Dash's passing. Savannah is a strong woman trying to get by in life. These two had a lot of issues to deal with and come to grips with but D.D. wrote it beautifully. I laughed, cried, got mad, got my heart broke in pieces but then the more I read, the more the pieces were put back together and it ended up just how I wanted it too. There may be triggers so take care if you have them but I promise, this is a story that will stay with me for a very long time!
Powerful and passionate story, full of painful pasts and loss. But this is so much more, it's about growth, understanding, learning about love and inspiration. There are twists, excitement, fear and worry but also smiles and uplifting beautiful and meaningful scenes that had me spellbound. Wonderfully descriptive to the point I could almost see it myself. It's emotional and at times a little dark but then that light comes back brighter than before. Characters have great depth, they have both suffered but try hard to be honest and talk to each other, one event has changed both their lives in some way. Pace is nice and steady but picks up speed when needed, it's well written and gripped me throughout. I've waited a while for a new story from this author and she gave me something fabulous in return for my patience, I adore this story it's a perfect balance of everything i want in a book. Perfection.
What a marvelous love story. So different from Boundless Hearts but alike in many ways. It's an homage to the healing powers of love and acceptance. I was completely captivated.
They met one time. He doesn't remember her. She can't forget him. It was a momentous night for both of them in vastly different ways. Ian Stanton was Boundless Hearts front man/lead singer. He was cocky, self-destructive, drunk high or both most of the time and on a crash course with hitting rock bottom if he didn't die first. Savannah Grace is a talented singer/songwriter, single mom and good friend. Finding serenity, redemption and the reclaiming of his life happens at his Rock Hills ranch. Sharing it with Savannah and Gigi is magical and becomes a turning point for all of them. She gives him peace and understanding. He makes her feel safe and protected. Together they forge a slow but relationship filled with hope and so much love.
I loved this story and was invested from page one. Ian and Savannah have a history, but Ian can't remember that time of his life and Savannah has a secret related to that history and doesn't want him to find out about. Sparks fly but for the wrong reason when Ian and Savannah "meet" years later. This story shows that you can't take someone's past behavior and expect that it will be a repeat in the future. Ian has changed so much from his past behavior where all he cared about was drinking and getting stoned where the only time the pain of the losses in his life are forgotten. Savannah's life changed when her parents were murdered but a chance drunken encounter left her with her beautiful daughter, Gigi who becomes her focus. I can't wait to see what the next story in the Rock Hills series comes out because if it is HALF as good as this story, I will be one extremely happy reader!
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
Bone Dust by DD Lorenzo is a captivating read that beautifully intertwines emotion and character development. The story follows Savannah and Ian, whose journey is anything but a quick romance. As we delve into Ian's past, the narrative pulls on your heartstrings, revealing the layers of his character and the struggles he's faced.
The depth of growth between Savannah and Ian is remarkable, making their connection feel genuine and profound. Lorenzo masterfully crafts a storyline that is rich and engaging, ensuring that readers are invested in both the characters and their evolution.
This book is a testament to the power of love and healing, making it a must-read for anyone seeking a heartfelt and transformative story. Highly recommended!
Wowsa this book is the first book in the Rock Hills Series and let me tell this book is absolutely phenomenal it will definitely have you enthralled from the beginning until the end and the storyline flows perfectly throughout the book. It's a gut-wrenching story with Ian who was in a band and od now clean and sober and Savanah whose parents were murdered on the night she went to the concert to see Ian's band .years later, they meet again, but when her crazy ex shows up, can they protect her and her daughter? It's truly filled with suspense and heartbreak and chemistry and romance and so much more than. You will definitely want to read it.
Once again D.D. Lorenzo takes her readers on an emotional journey filled with poignant moments that will tug on your heartstrings. Ian and Savannah's story comes full circle and with every turn of the page the reader is invested in their HEA. This will be one of those stories that stay with you long after the book is done. Bravo!!
Passionate and full of angst, Ian and Savannah have a history together that only she remembers. Fighting demons and their pasts can they overcome the obstacles placed in their way to find a HEA or will outside forces tear them apart. A story filled with everything a great romance should be. Highly recommend
There are simply never going to be enough stars to give DD Lorenzo what she deserves for her writing abilities! Seeing Ian Stanton like this made everything he went through in Boundless Hearts make a lot of sense. He wasn't my favorite, but this is the story and redemption he needed. I can't wait to read more about Rock Hills. Especially Sam!
Wow! I loved reading Bone Dust! Ian and Savannah's story will take you on an emotional journey! Author DD Lorenzo did an amazing job telling their story! I did not read Boundless Hearts where Ian was first introduced, but I just purchased it and can't wait to read it too!
I really enjoyed these characters in the Rock Hills series. Ian and Savannah both have survived some awful times in their lives. I was happy to see them get their happily ever after with each other.
