This book is AWESOME! Not done yet, but I'm excited to read more from the East Texan woman who's #1 aspiration in life is to "amply fill a negligee." NO JOKE! She also said that sometimes the best way to discipline a child is with a belt applied to their "seat of learning". I've got to find that quote...

Ok. I underestimated this book in my urban pretentiousness. I really liked this book. Although Baker is coming from a place that I don't understand or comprehend (conservative Christianity), I agree with the underlying philosophies she speaks about...trying to keep a Zen state about things in the home...that housework is not "useless" or "meaningless" and being a mother is anything but a trivial duty. Without mothers, homes fall apart. (Or someone acting as a "mother"...you know cooking, cleaning, raising the children, loving, etc.)

Wonderful book. Minus one star because she thinks I'm going to hell.
