I've been embracing my love of dark mafia lately...and this....was surprising and sexy. Vampires, witches, and mafia vibes??? Girl, say less!

I absolutely devoured this book! I was hooked from the very beginning! It has gothic vibes, vampires, witches, mafia-esque organizations, hilarious banter, and 🔥 spice. The chemistry between Vance and Sloan was palpable and just added to the emotional depth of these characters. The supporting characters are just as loveable, and I hope we get their stories in the future, too! Also, the playlist for this book is awesome 🖤

Oh my gosh, this ended on such a strong note and has me in the feels! If you’re into books with fantasy and dark romance elements, but you’re not sure mafia is your thing…give this one a shot! It’s fast-paced, atmospheric, brutal, sexy and a little unhinged.

It was sexy in the best way! This man was out for Blood!!🩸
Second chance romance is seriously my FAVORITE TROPE EVER! I love when the characters find their way back to eachother and this story did it so well! The angst and longing after the betrayal that separated them was EVERYTHING! You’ll find yourself appalled by Vance’s behavior in the beginning and then as the pieces come together, his feelings and actions make perfect sense and it’s just this insane rollercoaster of emotions.

Romeo and Juliet vibes but make it a mafia romance with vampires and witches. 😍🖤
I mean, what?! It’s as fun as it sounds! Spicy and sassy. Betrayals and some 💀. Fun times!
I liked the songs mentioned in certain scenes that helped create the vibe. I loved that Vance was a baddie but Sloan never once backed down from him. I love that she used the fact that everyone underestimates her against them. SHE is the actual baddie. Love her. Loved Vance too but Sloan is my girl 🖤
Oh and when you get to Chapter 25 😳🔥🔥
I had a great time reading this. It’s light on world building and pretty fast paced.if you like mafia romance (with vampires and witches) I’d definitely recommend.

Spooky vampiric and witchy read during spooky season heck yes!!! The storyline of this book was fast paced and incredibly detailed and the descriptions of all the locations absolutely gorgeous!! The gothic, mafia, paranormal vibe in this kept me going along with the all the twists in plot and hot as crap spice!!!
Ahhh Sloan and Vance!!!!! Holy crap what an amazingly beautiful couple. Seeing these two navigate a relationship that they should’ve had sooner was amazing and watching them at each other’s throats was mouthwatering. Both of this amazingly complex characters get back what was stolen from them and trying not to kill each other in the process was so dang magical. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to slap them both for their antagonistic behavior towards each other in the beginning, but soon realize they both had underlying trauma and it was their way of coping. The fight they went through to find each other again was rough and painful, but seeing them both finally realize their love was absolutely worth the fight.
I’m so glad I got to read this early!! It was such a perfect read and I could not put it down!!! Such a page turner considering I have finished it in a day!! I loved this world and hopefully will get more of this world one day!!! I’m in love with these characters.

I'm shooketh yet again from Blake and how she seems to tap into cinematic scale masterpieces! The reunion and love-hate spark between former bff's Vance and Sloan, proves to be so intricately complicated and mesmerizing to watch unfold. Their banter and chemistry is like static electricity!
The power dynamics secretly at play amidst their turmoultous burgeoning love, is akin to Romeo and Juliet, having our warring houses being that of Vamps and Witches. Though it's deftly played, keeping some plot twist cards held close to the vest for just the right moment for dramatic effect.
Villains are treacherous, forces conspire against our couple... and their own anger, feelings of betrayal and lust, plays heavily into all the drama that laces this epic tale.
With kinetic action sequences propelling a rolling thunder of narrative momentum, we are treated to bouts of delicous confrontations in both intimate and large scale set pieces.
To quote Westworld: "These violent delights have violent ends."
Vance is beautifully broken at times, but then incredibly vicious in the most intoxicating way! Sloan is a wicked fighter, a truthseeker and a tactician in her own right.
This story had me chained body and soul to all the characters and their journey. It's one helluva ride and it's absolute perfection!

Blood Red Hex is a vampire-and-witch romance, and I couldn’t get enough of it.
The story gave off major Romeo and Juliet vibes with its forbidden love. This book was spicy, and I loved their “hate/revenge” spicy scenes and hilarious banter. Having dual POVs added so much depth, revealing that this story was more than just forbidden and frustrating passion—it had me kicking and screaming! 😂
Both Vance and Sloan had hard upbringings, making it almost impossible for them to find happiness together. Vance, our vampire king, is unforgiving and ruthless—he’s the definition of “I will burn the world down for you.” Sloan is our badass witch princess, strong-willed and determined to create a better life for herself.
Their chemistry is everything, and I was blown away by how intense and captivating they were together.

MALBEC. this is one yummy, filthy mouthed vampire and i would let this man turn me ANY DAY !! he and sloan grew up together with the bond of disliking their family. they wanted to break the rules together by being best friends because their families are rivals. they did absolutely everything together. but when it was time to finally run away, vance had no choice but to stay behind. that ultimately broke their friendship :( he let sloan slip away once … he’s not letting her go again. this man is ruthless. he is claiming what he wants, what’s owed to him, and he will stop at nothing.

MALBEC. this is one yummy, filthy mouthed vampire and i would let this man turn me ANY DAY !! he and sloan grew up together with the bond of disliking their family. they wanted to break the rules together by being best friends because their families are rivals. they did absolutely everything together. but when it was time to finally run away, vance had no choice but to stay behind. that ultimately broke their friendship :( he let sloan slip away once … he’s not letting her go again. this man is ruthless. he is claiming what he wants, what’s owed to him, and he will stop at nothing.

I wanted to like this book, but it was hard for me. I felt the plot and characters were lacking depth. I also felt there was no build up into the story, you were kinda just thrown into the conflict. I also felt there was not chance for us to get to know characters or their back stories. I felt the ending was good, but overall it could have been better.

Just felt like this was lacking a little bit of everything. For being a "dark" fantasy romance, the characters felt very immature (like high school vibes???) so I was cringing the whole time.
The pacing was very start and stop and I don't feel like we ever got to a peak in the plot. Nothing irritates me more than when an authors uses the same plot point (Sloan being kidnapped) multiple times.
For being a dual-POV, this was heavily driven by the MMC. I also find it pretty confusing that Sloan is suppose to be the most powerful witch, yet she used her magic maybe once in the entire book and wasn't able to defend herself? Also can't stand the daddy issues trope lol. To top it all off, the romance was sub-par and underdeveloped.
This isn't my preferred genre though, so maybe I'm being a little over-critical... this just didn't belong with my other 3⭐️ books.

A paranormal romance with Romeo and Juliet mafia vibes, Blake freaking delivered. I was sucked into the dark and gritty war between the vampires and witches. Sloan and Vance were so complex, my heart ached for them as their past gets uncovered. Sloan is feisty and strong, yet vulnerable, afraid to get her heart broken again. Vance is deliciously unhinged and would do anything for the girl that got away. The spice was spicin’ and whoever said diamonds were a girl’s best friend, hasn’t tried on hand necklaces. 😮💨
The ending was a little abrupt but the epilogues were sheer perfection. I’d love to go back to this world should Blake write more, especially the two potential couples that were hinted! Also, was anyone else intrigued by Zarren or was it just me? 👀

How can vampires be hotter? Give them Mafia vibes, add a sprinkling of magic and make it forbidden love.
Blood Red Hex is a fast-paced Vampire x Witches novel, that gives us *hints* of Romeo and Juliet in a completely different world. This book is highly descriptive, which left me sat thinking about how beautiful the gothic buildings where for ages. I’m a sucker for good world building, leave me alone. The story is fast-paced, and action packed, and I honestly couldn’t put it down. Every moment of this book gives us something to think about, something new is going on, something is going to happen… and the suspense killed me.
This book gives us possessive in the best possible way, Vance is the coven leader, the boss and does he know what he wants? Yes… Does he do everything in his power to make that work? Yes. Will he kill you if you harm/insult her? Yes. Is he the new love of my life… Yes, He is. He’s the morally grey vampire of our dream’s.
Sloan our beautiful, wicked witch FMC is a complete bad ass, after a life of trauma due to growing up in a gang fuelled world, she ignites her powerful magic to save all that she loves, to build a world for her and her love, the only man shes ever had eyes for. It could only be him, right? Nobody compares.
Both Sloan and Vance are amazing characters, and I could honestly write an essay on the love they hold for each other, because it is just that beautiful, the whole story is. if you love vampires and want a love that knows no bounds, try this. You won’t regret a second.

Blake’s sheer ability to create a world that sucks you in is absolutely incredible. I will never tire of her writing. This story has stuck with me and I already miss it!
Blood Red Hex is a dark paranormal romance filled with witches, vampires, mafia, a badass FMC, and a delicious morally grey MMC.
Sloan is hands down one of my top FMCs ever. She’s resilient, strong, witty, witchy, and an absolute badass. Even her style is my absolute favorite. There wasn’t a single thing I could point out of her that I didn’t like. She’s a fighter through and through.
Vance, OHHHH Vance. My vampy morally grey baby. He’s an absolute smoke show. He’s a true leader who can sniff out a disloyal person quickly, and you don’t want to be on the receiving end of that. He’s ruthless, strong, obsessive, possessive, fearless, and absolutely mouth watering. I couldn’t and still can’t get enough of him. Perfection!
The chemistry between Sloan and Vance was electric! As hard as Sloan tried to fight, she couldn’t even deny it. Don’t worry Sloan, we don’t blame you! I love them together.
The supporting characters I loved just as much! They all added in necessary depth to the story and each fed off of each other so well! And they were great for some comedic relief in tense moments.
The plot is gripping and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. There’s so many emotions I went through while reading this story that it made it so easy for me to just fly through because I had to know. Between the vampires and the witches and the ones who are causing the chaos. There’s no shortness of fighting, and a delicious amount of spice!
Blake did such an amazing job making me fall in love with even more characters of hers! GET THIS BOOK! You will not regret it!

I am absolutely speechless, this was such a phenomenal read. Blake Gallows knows how to write a damn book, that’s for sure. The world building & vivid imagery was infatuating, the plot line was full of action and intensity, and the characters were so powerful and unique.
Sloan and Vance were perfect MCs and I will be yapping about them for the foreseeable future. I have a whopping girl crush on Sloan & an even bigger one on Vance after being able to experience this story from both of their perspectives. They both meshed together so beautifully - I loved reading about how much Vance had always loved her because he was such a Doberman on the outside, but had the most gentle heart & spoke the sweetest words towards his wicked little witch. And the spice?!?!?! Ooo-wee, I guess when you spend five years apart the tension just builds ten times harder.😂
The drama, history, and conflict between the covens & the men who ran them was so juicy and the way it wrapped up after the climax that came in the end after all the bloodshed truly made me want to hug my kindle and cry tears of joy (which I maaaay have actually done ngl).
The supporting characters were a riot in the best way, Vance’s wingmen Tommy and Silas never letting their support for him be doubtable. The relationships that all of these characters shared with each other made my heart so warm and fuzzy, the way they all would protect & fight for each other.
From beginning, middle, to end I was absolutely hooked & could not stop binge reading. I may be a slow reader, but I gobbled this one up in no time, absolutely devastated seeing the “epilogue” chapter heading.

Holy smokes does Blake Gallows know how to write a story. I could not put this down from start to finish. I devoured this book and left no crumbs!
This book is told in first alternating POV's where you will follow along with Sloan and Vance's Story.
Sloan, a witch, tries to escape her abusive family and their business when her twin's bad choices force her back into a world she thought she escaped. This includes facing someone she once loved: Vance.
Vance is hot, morally grey, vampire, and the leader to the Malbec Coven. Back before Sloan left, he had to make a choice between love or to stay behind for his coven and that choice changed the trajectory of their paths. As their paths once again cross, Vance tries to make up for his mistakes as they try to overcome all the barriers their family's have left in their path.

Blood red hex was everything I hoped for. Vance and Sloan were my favorite part .he is everything he says he is and rarely shows mercy .especially if they harm or insult Sloan that is one way to find your death .she isn't no damsel I love that so much she is a powerful witch she will fight her way to.freedom she may be a princess of her coven but she strong and powerful one
Cassie I thought I'd hate her but she surprised me later in the book I'm happy for that,Tommy and Silas are the best and loyal to Vance I had no doubt in that
I dislike Vance father so much he and Markus are horrible fathers and men & much worse . I won't say too much .I love the whole vampire and witch aspect in the book the way they didn't hold back. He isn't soft man or weak .Vance js strong vampire you do not want cross him

This book satisfied the itch for a good vampire book in October. For me the premise was really unique with the plot between the witches and vampires. I LOVED Sloan (FMC) she stands up for herself, isn’t afraid to handle business, and doesn’t ask for any less than what she wants. I also loved that Vance (MMC) shows vulnerabilities even as a vampire where Sloan steps in. They BOTH are headstrong characters and love how they work as a team. Don’t get it twisted though, he’s so dominating and possessive 😌 it was excellent.The spice was spicing, but read the trigger warnings please! For me it was written so well and I’m so excited for the book release!

This book was my first and definitely not the last read by Blake🥹🫶🏻
First of, the audiobook was amazing, a duet narration that had me hooked from the beginning. The narrators did a great job. 👏🏻 The additional epilogue in the audiobook was what I needed from Vance and Sloane ✨
Second, this book is a dark Romantasy. The writing was flowing & fast paced, and captivating. It had an amazing plot, with the right balance (in my opinion) of spice and smut scenes. I loved the characters, Sloane and Vance, and I need more from them 🤭. How can you not fall for a morally gray biker, a vampire, and a tattooed man?! Another reason to read it immediately. So, if that hasn’t convinced you yet, check out the tropes too 🤭🫶🏻

First of, the audiobook was amazing, a duet narration that had me hooked from the beginning. The narrators did a great job. 👏🏻 The additional epilogue in the audiobook was what I needed from Vance and Sloane ✨
Second, this book is a dark Romantasy. The writing was flowing & fast paced, and captivating. It had an amazing plot, with the right balance (in my opinion) of spice and smut scenes. Vampires & Witches ...... Abso-freakin-lutely!!!!!!!
Hate fueled love and chemistry that had me reading this book in 2 days. I could NOT stop. Sloan and Vance has a lifetime of banter, hate, rage, lust, revenge and questions that needs answers.
I am so grateful to have been selected as an ARC for this incredible book and I have found myself connecting with Sloan on such a personal level that I needed to see how she developed within these pages.
My favorite quote from this book is " Some men, I've learned, will destroy the world and everyone in it for those they love. They will k**l and wreak havoc with the same hands that worship and cherish those they hold dear." ✨️💕✨️

Blood Red Hex follows the story of Sloan ,who is a witch and Vance, who is a vampire. Now not just any vampire, but the leader of his coven. The two have known each other since they were young and their history together is what causes a rift between them. Sloan wanted out of the family legacy to be normal and enjoy her life, she wanted to be her own person. Vance couldn't do that. He had already accepted his legacy and let her go.
Years later, the two end up back in each other's lives and things slowly begin to unravel from there. Truths and feelings come out and their world is flipped upside down. Fighting to stay alive and overcome what has been thrown at them, they need each other.
Overall, I did enjoy the story and watching Sloan and Vance's relationship form. There were so many action scenes and the dialogue/banter was hilarious at times.
The side characters really added to the story and I even have some theories for future books and which characters may appear in them.
Years later, the two end up back in each other's lives and things slowly begin to unravel from there. Truths and feelings come out and their world is flipped upside down. Fighting to stay alive and overcome what has been thrown at them, they need each other.

Blake has yet again outdone herself while weaving a storyline that hooks you from the beginning and takes you on a heart-pounding adventure to the end.
Blood Red Hex tells of two rival mafia families, one of vampires and the other of witches, with a dark Romeo and Juliet trope vibe. Circumstances seem to entangle Vance and Sloan, forcing them together while everything and everyone sets out to tear them apart. In a world where villains and betrayal are around every twist and turn, encompassing the fight for power and violence wreaking havoc to obtain it, this book will have you on the edge of your seat to the very end.
With all the action, Blake perfectly balances the banter, angst, and spicy spice , all while being a palette-pleaser for the paranormal romance lover. If Damon Salvatore were a cologne scent, Vance wore it well. 🔥
