Seeing a loving family isn’t foreign to Kendrall Henderson. Seeing a toxic one isn’t either. However, through all the ups and downs his family has had, he’s learned how to keep the lines of communication open to avoid drama. Despite most of his family working for Henderson Ranch and Farms, Kendrall chooses to get into cutting horses. He competes with the American Cutting Horse Association and makes a great living doing so. That money just sits and accumulates interest, though, because he has no one to spend it on. Having a woman to love and spoil has become one of his strongest desires, and when he bumps into someone from his past, he doesn’t let the opportunity to rekindle their friendship pass him by.
Cassie Daniels knows that life isn’t fair. The two people that raised her, although loving and amazing, aren’t her biological parents. She has gone through life, wondering why the two people she should mean the most to don’t love her. Overcoming that isn’t easy for her, but she does with the help of her friend, Kendrall Henderson. When he shatters her hopes for more of a connection to him during their teenage years, she moves on, leaving him in her past. As fate would have it, she ends up seeing him again… almost twenty years later, and those old feelings resurface. There’s only one problem. She’s engaged.
Nearly unbearable situations have Cassie questioning what her life has come to. Her first thought is to lean on her rekindled friendship with Kendrall. However, after a drunken night of pleasure, she knows she has to end things. Kendrall disagrees. He refuses to let go and does his best to convince Cassie to follow her heart. Will Cassie settle for mediocrity in her current relationship, or will she give what could possibly be true love a chance?
Starting with poetry, writing has always been a constant in Monica's life. The interest began in her teenage years, being in love for the first time. Her love for writing has only progressed. Song lyrics and poetry led to short stories, then one day in her down time, a short story became a 56k word novel. It has been non-stop since then. Being a wife and mother, has only added to the joys of Monica's life. Attaining a BS in Sociology, helping her better understand people and their behaviors, has only helped her become a better writer, understanding characters and their complex personalities. Romance of all types has been her passion, and she plans to continue honing her skills in that genre.
Now Miss Monica! We done seen some drama in many of your reads but damn this thang here was drama filled chile! Whew….. 😤
Okay let’s start with Kendrall. He was bringing the pressure, wasn’t he? Once he had Cassie in his sights, nothing was stopping him from making her his. After that brief reconnection at the gas station, all those memories and feelings came flooding back for them both. It was inevitable what was about to happen next. That back and forth was a bit crazy, but when things fell into place, it was all love for the couple.
Cassie was a sweetheart, who was trying to the right thing by the man she promised herself to. But honey after witnessing THAT, all bets would have been off. F**k Mesani, and his damn memory! 🤬 She knew who had her heart, it just took her a minute to get her mind right.
That damn Mesani was a whole bih with the ish storm that he started, but them Hendersen men were going to finish it for him all right.
My heart went out to Jacob as he has got caught up with that crazy heifer Jemeka that don’t want to let go. He don’t want you, get you some business girl. 😤👀
Karima done growed up on us. Happy to see her spread her wings, but sad as her presence is so sacred to her brother and cousins. They value her support, wisdom, and counsel.
Shayla. 😡 Some women just need they whole reproductive system ripped out! 🤷🏾♀️ How dare she slither her way back into Cassie’s life on some ish, being messy, when she knows she has no intention of doing right. She and her whole family just need to be “taken care of”!!🤬 Then to see who she was with outside the hospital. IKYFL….. 👀
What is up with the people in Nome? They just gone let the entire town wither away on some petty ish? Let them Hendersen’s take care of ish like they been doin’, and go have a seat some damn where! Now that ending…. What the hell happened? Who has a death wish? Can’t wait for Jacob’s story next, as I can feel that he has some heavy ish on his heart. Another great read Miss Monica👍🏾👍🏾!
I was initially worried at the start of this book that this was going to be a love triangle and Cassie was going to drag out her “in love with two men” narrative. Fortunately, that didn’t last long and she found the good sense to realise that KJ was her forever.
While I enjoyed their love story including the potential drama with Cassie’s mother, Shayla and her ex Mesani, I felt like this book was also really about Jacob’s drama with Jameka and more an ensemble story of how the family was tackling all the personal and community drama in Nome. I didn’t mind this, but it meant that I don’t think enough was done with the drama directly linked to the MCs because so much was going on.
This ends on a cliffhanger but not the sort that you’re necessarily upset with the author. The MCs love story does conclude here- it’s more the drama with Jacob and the rest of the family that is the cliffie. Really enjoying catching up with this series again after disengaging for a bit.
I loved Cassie and Kendrall together. Cassie had feelings for Kendrall since high school, but he didn't want to cross the line of their friendship. Many years have passed until they see each other again, giving them the opportunity to go to the next level of their friendship. Their friends to lovers story wasn't as easy as they would've liked, but I loved how Kendrall made it very clear he had Cassie's back and refused to lose her again. You have to love those Hendersons they will stand ten toes down for each other no matter what, and it was great how they rallied behind Kendrall and Cassie. I'm so happy they were able to get their happy ending.
I’m apart of big city Nome and the Henderson family.
I loved the way KJ loved and didn’t give on Cassie! That poor girl while loved hard felt the missing pieces not having blood family left behind and KJ came back into her life to make her forget that it was even a factor. Oo and her bio life giver was just. Let me stop. But go read this cause it was so good. Monica never misses honestly.
You can NEVER go wrong with the Henderson’s. It’s not possible for us to be more in LOVE with this family❤️. Kendrall was so ready and thirsty for Cassie. Mazeni was 🗑️ trash but she finally LEFT HOME TO BE WITH HER SIDEPIECE😂😂😂. These two were made for each other with a love ❤️ and friendship that stood the test of time, Cassie’s mammy was trash 🗑️ and I was glad Tiff dragged her WJ being her brother was a nice surprise. Definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really liked this story from beginning to end. It was good seeing the connection and chemistry between Kendrall and Cassie. Their friendship was genuine and you could tell they could truly be themselves without filter around each other. After reading about them in the last book, I was skeptical on how them getting together would be since she was already engaged but things didn’t drag out on tjst front for too long. Sis got tired of Mesani and told him to do what you have to do, but I won’t continue being unhappy with you. That man was a whole batch out here because what real man does the things he did to her after she left him. But Kendrall was bound and determined to get his lady and he won in the end. I loved how they supported each other through it all.
This book wouldn’t be a Henderson family story without some crazy drama and fighting and foolishness. This family is the definition of FAFO to other people and others always seem to underestimate them at every turn or expect them to save the day when things go wrong. I love how the Henderson’s are always there for each other and those that they deem close friends.
Now Cassie’s incubator Shayla needs to go because why?! This lady caused unnecessary drama and you would think she was a young adult instead of in her fifties. And the audacity of her to expect Cassie to apologize to her. Like be for real cause she deserved all the smoke and then some from Cassie for always popping up and causing unnecessary drama.
I’m excited to read Jacob’s story even more now with how this book really ended on a true cliffhanger. We all know Ms. Walters ends her books in ways that can be picked up with the next one, but this one truly ended on a cliffhanger and I’m not sure how I feel about it.
I don’t know how Monica Walters keeps having me question my morals and sanity behind these characters😩. Kendrall and Cassie were a whole vibe, and although I don’t have any free space on my roster, if something opens up Kendrall is next in line because wheeeew that man! I thought I knew what to expect with this couple, but I should never think ahead when dealing with Monica Walters because her storylines stay with the extra curveballs. In this book, there were some good and some bad ones, but in the end, we got to where we needed to be. Now my girl Cassie… I wasn’t sure if I would like her at first (she tapped on my nerves a little bit), but eventually, she got right, and I found her a great fit for Kendrall. Oooo weeee, he didn't let up this entire book. In true Henderson fashion, he saw what he wanted, and that was it! I loved this couple's dynamic because although they had some years apart, they still had a foundation to build on, and they needed that because the drama surrounding them was not for the weak. I haven’t wanted to get at a character so bad in a while but Shayla is getting it on sight every time. Well, that's if my good sis Cassie doesn’t handle it because my girl was only slightly less active than Jess and Tiff😂 With how this book ended, I know it’s about to be mayhem in Big City Nome, and I’m right by Storm’s side for all of it. Yes, that man is still pure hell! We know Jacob is up next, and after all this man has endured, he needs his HEA; however, I’m already knowing it won’t be an easy win!
Foremost, thank you Ms. Walters for the Sidney Taylor & Shyrón Berotte cameo appearance in “Make Me Forget (The Henderson Family Saga - Book 22)” the Henderson’s alone are the most prolific melanated intellectually country hoodified gangsters 🤭…in “big city Nome”…possibly all surrounding cities if not TX proper…all 3000 of them (and still counting🤦🏾♀️)🤭‼️DANG, I can barely maintain my literary journal & remember who’s child belongs to which Henderson brother or sister 😮💨📝🤦🏾♀️‼️Meanwhile, “Make Me Forget…” was a great read. However, innocent eight year old Cassie shock 😮 🤬me with her declaration of love for KJ and his consent to be her side piece (What in the rodeo🥴⁉️) …stemming from a fifteen year old HS kiss & a single secret night mutually friendly beneficial rendezvous ⁉️ OKkkkk Cassie👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽‼️All boxes ain’t created equal (ask Common 🤷🏾♀️🤭🤪). ..Now, “Lil Kenn” 🤭Kendrall been inducted into the inclusive club super sonic cat nip crazy club💍 🔥😉😼😻🔥‼️Enjoy your HEA Mr. & Mrs. KJ Henderson🥰!
If ever there was a plug or great time to double back on an old read, this is it! Because while I remember bits and pieces of Drive Me To Ecstasy, now I need the whole thing. This Henderson saga is such a beast!!
Heyyyy, Kenny! Anyone else still teared up at the mention of the baby brother??
Baby, Jacob has been catching hell since book 21! What a way to end book 22 on a cliffhanger. We see you, Monica. Don't keep us waiting too long, now.
At first I was giving Kendrall the side eye cause he wasn't checking for sis but when he saw the woman she'd blossomed into all of a sudden he just had to had her, stuck in the past. Talking bout, she settled like 20 years hadn't passed!! On the upside, he saw what he wanted, applied that pressure, and didn't let up and most importantly didn't waste her time.
Gahhlllyy that's a lot of Henderson kids! We are about to be in for a wild ride!
Yes, Yes, YES!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wish I could make it 10 Stars! There is so many things that could be discussed in this book. My goodness! The way the book was written tying characters in from other books and of course the Henderson's ALWAYS have me on the edge of my seat cause they come hard EVERY time! You can't tell me that I'm not at least an honorary Henderson 😁 Cassie has been through literal hell throughout her lifetime with the forever pain that she carries dealing with her stank biological mother. Oh but when He blesses us, can't nobody intercept those blessings and BA-BY, Kendrall is her blessing and vice versa. This story embarks on that "forever" kind of love, that does my heart and soul good.
Thank you Author Monica Walters for an OUTSTANDING read❣️✨
P.S. I forgive you for the ending as I know that come back is gonna be 🔥
Bay-bay!!! I had to leave the Sweet Series alone for a minute!!! I am on Book 8 of that series, but as soon as Kendrall's Book dropped, I dropped Sweet Series! There are mentions of Serita and Sidney in this book and it just didn't give me good vibes as before. I had to fall in love again and though 💩 never stops and Mrs. Walters gon' forever come through with the "shoe drop" baby I laughed in this book!!! Come through Kendrall and Cassie! Bay-bay Cassie wasn't for the mess!!! She sat in that jail and knew she wanted to make it her last time, but people kept trying her gangsta, and to get em off her, she didn't mind going back. Kendrall just wants to love her through it all. He is letting her know that no matter the mess, he is there to hold her down like four flat tires! Love their reconnect!!! Good job MC!!! On to Book 23!!! I live looking forward to the next book!!! Whew chile!!!
If you don’t give a damn I don’t give a…don’t start no stuff won’t be no stuff! Knuck if you buck! All of that to say that this book was turnt!
Them Hendersons ain’t neva scared and it appears that Cassie ain’t either! She fits right in with them because she was knucking and bucking too! And when you read with who and why you’d understand. Kendrall was all on Cassie and said F your man, you mines. The drama was turnt up to 10 in this book and I loved every page of it!!! I wanted to fight too like I was a Henderson. I need to marry into the family - I’ll have to be another cougar tho because only the young ones is left after Jacob is gone. Speaking of Jacob, he’s a lesson in needing to be selective when handing out the D! Cassie and Kendrall were meant to be and I’m glad they weathered the storm to be together. Gotta love them Hendersons, it’s always a time!
Drive Me To Ecstasy really should be read before this book. I'm glad I went back and read it. I liked Kendrall and Cassie together. After over 20 years of being apart, they were able to build on their teenage love. This love story is everything! Loved it! She's still going through a lot. Her fiance, Mesani, was a manipulator. He deserved everything he got and more. Her bio-mom, Shayla, was a whole mess. She and her trashy family need to go somewhere. I like how Cassie got with her ass! Lol! But the Henderson women handled her. Hopefully. At least Cassie got more family out of this, including marrying into the Henderson family. Big City Nome is falling apart without the Henderson's money. I'm looking forward to it unofficially being Hendersonville. I love this series! I don't know what I'm going to do without the Hendersons & Big City Nome. I'll read Jacob's story very slowly. This ends in a cliffhanger.
This book had me like WTH is going on here.... You have the people of Nome wanting the Henderson's money but don't want them to handle business, Storm is not going to play with you so he left and their support left. Cassie knew when she seen Kendrall the love had not left and Kendrall knew it too but she had a man that she thought was true until she caught him having sex in their home so who do she call her friend Kendrall. That's all he needed and man oh man it was on and popping after that. Jacob has a lot going on and it is going to take a lot to purge all the mess going on with him but I know his story will let it all come out, now Jacob is in jail and Kane have been shot.
I was going to marry this guy but my family was against it. At the time I was taking care of my great aunt. She sat me down one night and said to me, If that is the man that you are supposed to be with, nothing or nobody will be able to keep it from happening. He wasn't it, hence I'm still single. Kendall and Cassie didn't have that problem. Cassie knew as a kid who Kendrall was to her, but as usual, she had to let Kendrall come to that conclusion in his timing. And when he did, baby, wasn't nothing or nobody going to keep him from who was his. Ms. Walters said for us not to come for her about the ending so I'm going to chill. Only because the next book will drop in a couple of weeks so I can wait that long to find out what happens next.
It’s official KJ is my favorite Henderson! Omg the way he loves Cassie, who wouldn’t fall in love with him. Cassie’s mom Shayla is the worst mother. Cassie is so blessed to have her dad Price and her Step Mom and now she will have Mama Keisha to. Finding out that she’s WJ’s sister was definitely something I was not expecting. As always Storm is in the mix, I love me some Storm! Cassie ex fiancé is a piece of work and I was so happy her relationship with him was not dragged out. All the drama with Jacob’s issues was gearing up for the next book. The cliffhanger was so unexpected! I can’t wait for Jacob’s story and I want some more KJ yes baby! Great story as always Monica love your books and my favorite family the Hendersons! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kendrall was a man that knew what he wanted. Seeing Cassie and hanging with her led him to know exactly what that was. Cassie wanted Kendrall just as much, but she wasn't A cheater. Catching her man was the excuse she needed. Never thought she would make Kendrall a side man and he accept the role. Patience is definitely the key. It didn't take long for Kendrall and Cassie to get their happiness, but not without plenty of drama! Mesani was a coward that never wanted Cassie. Jacob did him justice by knocking him out! Shayla and Mesani will receive a dose of karma that they were never expecting. None of their drama ruined the love Kendrall and Cassie have. Can't wait for Jacob's book to read about the rest of this drama! Awesome read!
Kendrall and Cassie were too cute. I enjoyed reading as their messy love triangle unfolded. I never felt bad for Mesani because sir be forreal! I get he lost a lot from that tap over the head, but forcing someone to stay with you—pleaassseeeee. Okay now back to Kendrall. He was def on some boyfriend number two ish for a while, but once miserable Mesani went too far, he got his girl. I think it took a bit for me to realize that Cassie was little Cassie from Drive Me to Ecstacy, but when I did I was swooning. It was great seeing her all grown up and how Price was still riding for her. Shayla was just a terrible mother and I’m glad she got hers. Now Jacob’s book is going to be a mess. I can see it now. Bring on the drama!
Cassie and Kendrall have been friends since childhood. Once she confessed how she felt as a teenager, he brushed her off! Years later they meet up at a gas station and discover they are very much drawn to one another! Cassie is engaged to Mesani but later it was discovered he was cheating. Fast forward several months later and she and Kendrall are a couple! Her birth mom Shayla just won't go away nor will her cousin Jameka leave Jacob, Kendrall's cousin alone! So much happened in this book! I'm sure the drama isn't over even though Cassie and Kendrall got married! Looking forward to the next in the Henderson saga! Hopefully Jacob can find happiness and the crazy family that keeps messing with the family will disappear!
Baby if you haven’t read this series what are you waiting on?!? Every book makes me feel like I am apart of this family. You cannot tell me that my family doesn’t live in Big City Nome 🤣🤣… Kendrall and Cassie were meant to be together. I loved the fact that Kendrall wasted no time after seeing Cassie as an adult. Engagement be damned he was going to get his woman and I love that for Cassie. Cassie deserved all the love that Kendrall had to offer especially after dealing with her trash a** bio mom (read Drive Me To Ecstasy for that backstory). I can’t wait for the next book! 🤗
Cassie and Kendrell story was pack with what now action. Was so surprised that Uncle/Mayor Storm was a little tame. He still being him just more subdued. KJ wanted Cassie to be his so much so he was willing to play second. His love for her was strong. Which is what she needed to break away from punk arse ex-fiance. He tried it! 😤🤬
The crap brewing in Nome is something else. Baby, WJ meant what he said about Nome would need the Hendersons. Gonna mess around and become Hendersonville for real.🤣
Waiting patiently on the next 1️⃣to drop. You know Mz Monica drops juicy reads like mix tapes.😜
I love a second chance book and Cassie and Kendrall had unresolved feelings for sure. Mesani should have just been named messy, I can’t stand men like him. Storm was his usual no filter foolish self. I love how they always rally together and the citizens of Nome should know better than to try them. I loved how being a parent isn’t always about blood. Shayla proved that, she is miserable and messy and I hope she gets what is coming to her. You know we all waiting on that next book and I don’t care who saying what please end that next book with resolution because me and cliff hangers don’t get along. I need all the story in one setting. lol.
Cassie had loved Kendrall since high school. The only from was he kept her in the friend zone. They lost touch and were reacquainted as adults. Kendrall finally saw in Cassie what he didn't see in her when they were younger. The problem was she was engaged. He was determined to stop at nothing to win her heart. Cassie caught her fiance cheating on her in their home. This just made it easier for her to run to the arms of Kendrall. They run into a few obstacles to try to keep them away from each other. But their love is strong enough to beat all odds. As usual the book ends leaving me is suspense. Can't wait to see what the Hendersons are up to next!
Cassie & Kendrall! I loved them. Im so glad Cassie didn’t play with Ken’s feelings. I understand her dilemma but I’m sooooo glad she stood up for herself. Mesani is a (female Dogg) & Shayla is the most vicious snake I’ve ever read about! To do your own blood dirty is ridiculous. The love making scenes were vivid & hot 🔥 “Martha & Snoop” -Uncle Mayor is gonna be classic!!! You definitely left us with a major CLIFFHANGER & I don’t know how to feel about it?!…All I will say is PREORDER!!!!
So I have loved all the books in this family saga since Seven Storm Henderson lol. This book had me going through it.
I gave Cassie the side eye in the beginning because girl what were you thinking. Then Kendrall settling for that side piece position was wild.(But not for long 😏). That man said you were always mine.
I loved their love. It reminded me of Kenny’s and a little bit of Jasper and Chas with their freakiness lol.
The Hendersons gone ride for you always. That’s my type of people. Great job as always Monica. 👏🏾👏🏾
Kendrall and Cassie was definitely an inspiration about love lost and found!!!…I love how they were able to find their way back to each other and build on that!!!… Jacob was catching all kinds of heat behind a woman he didn’t want and she was determined to make him want her!!!… Shayla stretched my nerves and I I was glad Tiffany got ahold of her!!!…Mesani was so messy and him and Shayla together, geeeshhh!!!… This book ended with a shocking revelation and a family I’m sure saddling up to shake shattt up too!!!…
I loved Kendrall .. a man who knew exactly who he wanted and stood on business about it! Cassie was sweet and trying to do right by folks, but some people deserve and need a mighty ass whopping! Shayla is beyond redemption. Uncle Storm needs Jesus. This was delicious and spicy and sweet. Nobody does as much talking while getting it in as these two, but otherwise they were great together. Why is Nome popping off like this?! I enjoyed the ride and recommend this book. This was a great read 📚 👏🏾 👍🏾 !
Kendrall and Cassie was a beautiful lost love and found love story!! It was sexy and funny and just beautiful. It showed that it might not be your time now but nothing can stop it when it's meant!! They way he loved and protected and showed Cassie he was for her was what a man does he just like his Daddy it was awesome and Cassie a rider the quiet but stand on business kind. Just a beautiful story.
Ooo wee! This was so good. Cassie and Kendrall were a perfect fit for each other. The drama was amazingly off the chain. Similar to the Hatfields and McCoy's. Shayla is fowl and messy. So was Cassie's ex. , who was a manipulater. Who sleeps with their ex fiancee's estranged mom, even though they're not close? Just nasty! Unbelievable!
Shayla's family gonna find out how the Henersons really roll, when this next installment comes out. I can't wait.
I knew it was going to be something but not this. Shayla and her janky family have gotten on my last nerve. Them cousins of hers need to get it. All this mess is worth reading though. So glad the wedding/marriage of Cassie and KJ was able to be completed. Just like the previous ones this one was great too. Monica, you did awesome as always. Great one again.
