This is a “near future thriller” — science fiction based on current reality and written to reflect reasonable possibilities. A young pilot, Adam Benedict witnesses the Earth in the ravages of nuclear holocaust from hundreds of thousands of miles away. Realizing the moon is the only place he can go, he seeks refuge in a lunar colony and hopes to unite with the woman he loves. When he learns the colony will be enslaved by a man using the disruption of life on Earth as his opportunity to conquer and control the moon, Adam fights back. Gun battles, acts of sabotage, and altercations in the corridors of lunar habitations follow. In the midst of it all, there are rocket trains, space barges, oxygen extracters, broken hearts, betrayals, and more. It is a story filled with action, excitement, love, loss, victory, and defeat in a world not far away and a circumstance that someday could be real! As with all of Duane Laflin's books, the characters are morally upright people caught in difficult situations, yet determined to do what is right.
